Hi wantamiracle-

I just wanted to say that I'm really glad you joined the group. I am hoping and praying for you to get your BFP this cycle. I really don't know how I will deal with a BFN myself this cycle (my 1st IVF). Ya know, so many people believe in PMA and I'm just not a believer in that stuff. I believe that most of the world is out of our hands and beyond our control. If we had control, we'd all have babies by now.

I know that no one like to talk about the negative stuff hear for fear of the negative energy, but the reality is that some of us won't get our BFP's this month. Although it's naturally uncomfortable, its good for us to bring up and talk about these things. It will be hard for the group to deal with the sad results, but I hope we can turn any of the sad results into an opportunity to help others going through the same thing.

If I don't get the result I want this month, I'm really glad that there are women like you who will encourage me to pick my head up and try again! You and others who've been trying repeatedly are inspirational- thank you.

SDTrying:

Hey, It is definitely hard and during a cycle or even at the start of a cycle, you don't want to hear anything negative bc your mind you start thinking negatively. I did my best to think positive thoughts during my first ivf cycle, but sometimes it was difficult b/c the "what if" kept coming to mind and I knew If i was stronger in my faith, that "what if" question wouldn't have been there. But we all have to go through something to get to something. For others it may take one try for others it may take several, but it doesn't make that person any more blessed than the person that is taking several tries. We learn as we go through things. I look at this as a challenge and a walk with God. I'm a Christian and a spiritual person, sometimes it is hard to encourage others when you don't feel encourage yourself...but during that time when you're at your weakest God is at his strongest. I';ve been through too much heartache and I still keep getting up, but at times I feel stronger than I was before and other times I feel like is this ever going to work. Anyway, basically you're right, things can happen, it isn't always peaches and cream, but if we keep the faith regardless of the outcome, you HAVE accomplished something. It is how you deal with it, that makes you victorious. I dont' think I handled my bfn very well, but you know I came out that depression stage quickly, but still have that thought, why not me?

sorry this was so long

Love Bug wrote:Hi Everyone. I am so glad to see this thread started. I am going to be starting my lupron late April and then stimming early May.

This is my 2nd IVF. frist was in Feb with a BFN. It's been hard to get back on track- I almost didnt want to join this group because I hated reading all the BFP in my last group, but I realized that was all part of the grieving process. I am now excited to start again.

Baby dust to all!!!

Hello Love Bug,

I was on the board when you got the bfn and I felt so sorry for the ladies who got the negatives. now with my bfn, I can truly imagine what you all went through. I'm glad you're getting back in the game and stay positive. I know I'm going to this time.

jharris12 wrote:Good morning ladies. Sorry I was away a couple days. It was a busy weekend! Thank you so much to all of you for the congrats. This is such an amazing and exciting time in my life! And thanks for all the well wishes for my trip. I believe we are taking a laptop with us, and the resort has WIFI, so I should be able to keep up with you all while I'm gone!

SD: I had my CD3s last month so that I wouldn't have to do it this month! I also figured this may be my last chance for a real vacation for a while, so we decided to go thru w/ it. Fertile turtles, I don't know why, but that makes me laugh! And I'm like you, I have no idea how I will deal w/a BFN since this is my 1st IVF cycle, too. It's helpful to know there are amazing women here for support!

Sameera: Glad to hear that first shot wasn't too bad! Encouraging news for those of us that haven't gotten to that yet

Wantamiracle: Welcome to the group! We are all here for you, and we are glad you are trying again.

Yellow: I hadn't even thought about cutting out the caffeine! Aaaghh! Maybe I should be thinking about decaf! I love my morning coffee on my ride in to work, and my Diet Dr Peppers are NOT caffeine free! Let me know how you are doing with cutting that out.

JesJes: Snow?? :o I am so jealous. We didn't see any snow around here all winter. Maybe a couple flurries here and there, but not enough to make a difference. We are in the middle of a drought, we can use any kind of precip around here!

Amber: How are the Lupron shots going for you?

DrJen: Thanks, I will do my best to relax while I'm there. But I will be starting my BCPs while I'm there, and I'm sure I will just get that much more excited that we are one step closer, and less likely to remain relaxed. But in a good way! 8)

LoveBug: Welcome aboard, and best wishes. This is an amazing group of women!

OK, I think I'm caught back up with you all!! Hope you are all in good spirits and doing well this wonderful Monday morning! Now it's time to get to work. :?

HELLO JHARRIS:

Thanks for the welcome and it is good to know that I have the support.

Positive Mental Attitude. By the way- there's no such thing as too many posts! Reading through this thread each day is fabulous, I'm always psyched if I see lots of posts! By the way your response to my post was really beautiful. I don't practice Christianity, but the fundamentals of your beliefs are certainly something we have in common.

Jharris- glad you liked my "fertile turtles" comment- hee-hee, I like it too! I hope we get to hear from you while you are enjoying your honeymoon, but I have a feeling your DH might have other plans....

Anyone Starting Injections Today?

Post by stephanienj »

Hi Ladies,

I'm so excited! I start injectibles tonight and just wanted to see if anyone else was starting around the same time as me?

This board was a real help to me on my last cycle. It's so great to have other women to talk to while going thru this!

Hey all! How is everyone? I ended up having to go my regular dr today, apparently I've caught a yucky virus, that I hope is gone before my trip Friday! But I've also been spotting the past couple days, and I'm not supposed to start until next week, so now I am waiting for a response from my RE to find out when I should start my BCPs. Another wait!! :x

SD: My DH is an IT guy, he will want to be close to a PC anyway! So I will have my time to check in while I'm gone!

Stephanienj: Congrats on starting your meds! Another step closer!

Chelly: Welcome to the group. Glad to hear Lupron isn't as bad as I have imagined, since I haven't started mine yet. So thank you!

wantamiracle: Like SD said, I love seeing a lot of posts on here! Feel free to post as much as you want! We are here for you! :D

Hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Amberb28...I remember when i was on the Feb/Mar thread, girls who were just starting Lupron were having bad headaches. I think the headaches lasted a few days and then went away. Feel better, and like you said...one day closer!!!

Amber ~ Yes the headaches will go away. I always have them for about 3 days, I think its just your system getting used to the drug! Good Luck!

Hello, New here

Post by Alchik »

Hello,everyone,
I started my 1st IVF cycle (today is CD4). Looks like I'm on a different protocol from you all. I'm not taking Lupron at all I had a BW yesterday and last night was my first shot of Gonal 150 and this morning I did Menopure 75. I'll be going in for US and BW on Thusday... Is anyone on the same protocol?

Today is day 8 of stimming. I would guess my egg retrieval to be Wed. April 9th and transfer April 12.
The scarry thing is those are the exact dates one year ago, my first IVF when I got pregnant, but unfortunately miscarried.
