Good morning fertile turtles (Thanks for that SD!). Hope everybody is doing well. Looks like our group is growing nicely!

Yellow: Congrats on staying away from the caffeine. I hope I can be as strong as you are!

Chelly: Wow, you are getting so close! It must be very exciting!

Amber: Hope you get to feeling better soon.

SD: Have a safe, and wonderful trip! And it still looks like we will be starting BCPs about the same time. One day closer!

It is so good to hear all of the experiences and side effects that you all are experiencing from the meds! This way, maybe I won't freak out if or when it happens to me!

Hi everyone, I started lupron 3/27... waiting for period. This is my first IVF cycle.. when should the period come? Normal cycle time or does lupron shorten your cycle? My cycle is usually 31 - 32 days long.
I don't have my ER scheduled yet. I have no idea when it will be. I figure about 2 weeks after my period. I never wanted my period to come so badly.. how ironic.
Anyone going through the same?[/b]

I was the same way. Lupron seemed to have extended my cycle. I was 28 cycler LOL and AF came 3-4 days after that. I was like i'm not going to get started on time. LOL she'll show. I felt the same way you did. good luck on your first ivf cycle.

Are you supposed to have AF while on Lupron? I don't know, this is my 1st cycle. Right now I am on BCP and 10u Lupron, and I stop BCP on Saturday. So does that mean I start AF after Saturday? I don't even know!

Chelly180~ Usually anytime you stop BCP you will end up having AF it could be late doesn't have to be saturday but somewhere around that time prolly you will have AF.

Or at least that's what happened to me.

Hopeful312~ My cycle is usually 31-35 days long and I know what you mean about waiting for AF. I swear this was the ONLY time I ever wished I got my AF sooner so I could start my IVF but that sucker took it's time and came in a WEEK later!!! I was so mad but at least it came thru and now I'm already half way thru the process. So, just hang in there it will come.

Yellow~ when do you get to start your meds?

DrJen~ Hope your stimming is going great.

SD~ have fun on your trip but be safe.

Amber~ how is your lupron shots going?

I get to go tomorrow for my ultrasound - so wish me good luck ladies!! I hope my follies are responding and growing good.

but today my belly is so bloated i cant even button up my pants!! how sad is that lol. My ovaries hurt when I sit or walk or get up ugh.. I hope soon it will be over.

Afternoon, Fertile Turtles!

Chelly, I hope your headache is better. Like Sameera said, you should get AF sometime after Saturday. I think mine came 2 days after I stopped BCP. My clinic also does mostly 3 day transfers. They said they were getting lower pregnancy rates with 5 day transfers. They will do 5 day if someone requests it. I'm not sure if they culture embryos to 5 days to freeze. I know they freeze some at the 1 cell stage if there are a lot of embryos. Seems like there's a lot of variability on this. Maybe I'll ask Ghost.

Amber, the antibiotics made me really nauseous, but only for about on hour after I took them. Are you feeling any better? Have you called the clinic?

SDtrying, visiting old friends is the best. Hope you have a blast!

JH, have a fun, relaxing and safe trip. Don't post too often. You should be basking in the sun. Can't wait to hear about it!

Sameera, good luck on your ultrasound! I think you'll be the first follicle update from the Fertile Turtles! So exciting! Sorry you feel so bloated. I hate to be the one to tell you that it'll probably get worse before it gets any better. Often the bloating keeps getting worse until a few days after the transfer. I know, this part sucks. Last cycle I used the pregnant women trick of putting a rubber band around the jeans button, through the buttonhole and back around the button. Then an extra long shirt is a must! Otherwise, it was strechy clothes only for me!

I went to Macy's today and they had free facials. That was a nice surprise. So, I'm feeling moisturized and pore-minimized. They lady told me I need to drink more water. Gotta work on that.

I have to confess. I had a small cup of coffee today -- a starbucks "short". I swear, back to tea tomorrow. I bought some fancy organic stuff to inspire me.

Hi ladies! I've had a long week--one more day to go.

Chelly-I got AF about 7-10 days after I started Lupron. So, lucky me, it should be starting any day. My clinic likes to do 5 day blast transfers if you have 4 or more embryos that make it to day 3. But, they also take individual circumstances into consideration. I had 2-5 day blasts transferred last time. (You're right, the injections are not as difficult to give as an IAN block . We had Dexis training today--go live tomorrow--do you all have digital x-rays?

Amber-I was on doxycycline last cycle--I had an upset stomach.

Yellow-the facial sounds great! Oh, I love Starbucks!!! I had a huge diet coke at lunch today--shame on me too .

LB-Welcome! I purchased a book called "Nurturing Yourself through IVF." It has helped me see that I need to take time for myself and find relaxing things to do. My husband told me I need to get a hobby. I have one, SHOPPING Unfortunately, this can get expensive. So, one thing I have started is fertiltiy yoga--when I'm not too tired from work. I bought a DVD on Amazon. I've never done yoga, but I'm finding it relaxing at the least.

Sameera-what meds are you injecting right now? Good luck at your appt--I'm sure everything will go great! My 1st u/s and b/w for this cycle is 4/11 and then every 3 days after that.

Hopeful-Like I told Chelly, last cycle I had AF 7-10 days after starting Lupron. Are you on bcp's? I'm not. I started Lupron 3/28 and tentatively will start follistem 4/11 and then ER about 4/23 with a 3 or 5 day ET. The timing is based on my last cycle (unfotunately a BFN).

angram- I had the big O at 6dp3dt, but unfortunately, I didn't get KU that cycle either. but you know i've had that when i became pregnant those other times though, that is why i thought for sure I was pregnant. so good luck to you!

DrJen- I started Lupron 4/1 and stop BCP 4/5 so I guess I'll be looking forward to AF. But I have another U/S scheduled for 4/9...won't that be gross if I am on AF?? We don't have digital yet, supposedly we will be getting it this summer. I'm not to crazy about having to drag a laptop with me between sites, I told them I need one of those indestructible ones!

Yellow- It looks like our clinics have similar philosophies regarding 3 & 5 day transfers. I figure they are the experts, so if they are having results with 3dt then fine with me! At least the headache went away and I can finally think again! I cut out caffiene (other than the occasional chocolate) about 6mths ago and it was hard! I went through some serious physical withdrawls the first week, but I am ok now! You can do it!

Sameera- we are excited that your follies are growing...I would think the slight bloating is a good sign! I am lucky that I wear scrubs to work M-F and mine have drawstrings!

Hopeful- I don't have ER scheduled yet either. They gave me a range of dates, but they said its up to my follies. this is my 1st IVF cycle to, so we can be new together!

LB- you have been through a lot! Hopefully the surgery will increase your IVF odds. Stay positive!

Chelly-- your cycle and my cycle seems to be on same dates...I also stop my BCP on 4/5 and would be looking forward for my periods... I am not sure what is meant by AF.. I tried decoding but failed ..help me on that .. I ahve my baseline u/s and b/w scheduled on 4/9 too.. so we both r on exactly the same dates so far...

Sameera-- great to know that your follies are growing and you are moving closer to having a dream come true our all the best wishes are with you....

LB-- Chelly is right saying that just be positive and ahve trust in God..everything will be fine....

DrJen-- I m feeling litlle better now but because of the nausea I dont feel like doing anything or eating anything.. that makes me feel all the more weak.. otherwise Lupron is treating me OK so far....

Yellow--Hey seems I missed the free facial chance at Macy's .. I called up my clinic to check for nausea and they said that its because of the antibiotics and improper diet.. I dont know how much more I should eat.. I am already eating more than my regular diet

Amber- AF just means 'aunt flo' aka your period....I'm still adjusting to the lingo too! We can be cycle buddies...how is your Lupron going? Do you know your protocol yet? I have the boxes of Bravelle/Menopur ready to go! I had to buy a whole new pack of BCP's just for 3 stupid pills...oh well atleast the copay was only 10$. What state are are you located?

Chelly-- thanks on helping me with AF.. I am sure I would have never decoded that )...oh thats bad regardimg BCP.. but did you loose 3 pills from the earlier pack or you had to take for 3 extra days....well we have almost the same dates.. I havent got my exact dates yet and I would be recieivng the same from my doctor after the baseline ultra sound...
I am in MN state and I am just counting each day literally.. month seems to pass so slow..

How is everyone doing and most important hows everyone feeling? I bet you guys are excited and very anxious to get everything started - just like me!!!

Well, ladies I went for my ultrasound and wohoo what a relief. Basically, on my right side I have 7 follies and on my left side I have 11 follies!!! OMG, I was so happy to know that. They all are 12mm" and my RE said that I'm stimulating really well so he lowered my dose a lil bit..

I was taking 1 ganirelix and 3 vials of Menopur now I have to start taking 1 ganirelix and 2 menopur on 4/4 and 4/5. On 4/6 I only take 1 ganirelix and 1 menopur wohoo!!!

I go for another ultrasound on April 7th to see how far along my follies are..He did say he is pretty sure my ER will be on April 9th and ET on April 12th!!!! I'm so excited - It truly has been a long bumpy road but it's all worth in the end.

DrJen~ I am doing Menopur and Ganirelix shots. Before you know it 4/11 would be here - keep us posted about your progress.

SD~ Have lots of fun and enjoy!!!

Michele~ you are lucky that you get to wear scrubs - but honestly it's seems like my belly is about to explode it keeps getting bigger and bigger LOL
