Hi girls--
Sorry for my absence. When I am a overwhelmed, I tend to withdraw a bit. So I was in an antisocial phase.
Just a few personals for now 'cuz I'm beat and really need a nap...
Loopie: sweet of you to come looking for me

. I, too, have raided Old Navy maternity-- cheap and cute-- what more could a pregnant woman ask for? I don't know how you have done the crinone so long. I stopped a few weeks ago-- and at that point I felt I had the junk seeping out of my pores! Glad to hear your Down's risk looks good. As for the trisomy 18... the problem with these numbers is that they really don't give us answers. But consider this... you still have less than a 1% chance your baby has Trisomy 18. I'd say those are decent odds.
Tammy: The baby sounds very healthy! Sorry 'bout them not being able to do measurements. You've got a stubborn one for sure
Rio: I don't know about you... but it appears I fall into the 30% of asthmatics that get worse in pregnancy. I have been trying to pretend it isn't so.... but when the fifth person mentioned to me my breathing sounds bad... it was time to come out of denial.

An increase of my meds seems to be helping. We'll see. I hope your asthma is doing better. As for the testing. They are tough decisions, especially since the numbers are no guarantee. Good luck!
Gecko: sounds like you have quite the hookup for maternity clothes through your SIL. I also raided the local Motherhood store and loved that the clothes are so cheap. I mean really, I refuse to pay a fortune for clothes I won't be wearing very long (esp. since I will be on some sort of bedrest starting in 9 weeks!)
As for me.... we lost the set of identical twins over the last few weeks. First one and then the other. A little sad... but really I am more relieved than anything. Neither had been doing well and their presence and location posed a risk to the other three. We had consulted with the premiere high order multiples guru. He has delivered 8 sets of quints (several more than anyone else in the world), and if I was able to keep all five the plan was for me to move to Phoenix in 7 weeks to be on bedrest for the remainder of the pregnancy (I got my insurance to agree as no one here has delivered quints for 20 years!). Now that we "only" have three, we will be staying here at home, which is nice. After thinking we may have quints, triplets sound like cake! (don't worry, I'm not actually under the delusion this will be a walk in the park

)
The surviving triplets are thriving, and we are so grateful! They are all measuring a few days ahead and heart rates look good. They all had nasal bones and the nuchal translucency measurements were normal. We are unable to have the blood screening done because there are so many... and we just lost two... the numbers wouldn't mean anything. The perinatologist suspects they are all girls. 80% chance for each of them... which means a 50% chance we will have all girls! Poor dh
Ciao for now!
