SDtrying wrote:Hey Dr. Jen,

I'm so sorry to hear about the fight you had with your hubby. My husband had a foot in the mouth moment that sounds very similar, I can't remember the exact situation (except for the fact that i cried myself to sleep that night just like you!) We were talking about something and he made some comment like "I'm not infertile" implying that I am and he's not. It was horrible and hurtful and he looked mortified as soon as it came out of his mouth. He tried to take it back but it was too late.....

My DH is wonderful and i'm sure your is too. Having difficulty conceiving puts such an unnatural strain on a relationship. I hope you are feeling better now. I think many of us here are probably type A (i know i am) this board gives us the sense that we're "doing" something to get closer to success. We're keeping each other posted, we're learning new things, giving each other advice, all of those things bring us one step closer to success.

Hang in there and know that many of us have had similar situations with our DH's at one point or another, perhaps its a right of passage through the process. I mean this whole thing would be easy if it didn't mess with your career, your sense of womanhood, and shake your relationship up. Us type A people never like things the easy way right? ;)
Hey SD-

Men are men and we say stupid things sometimes. Were you absent on that day of marital training class? :)

That being said, having fertility issues doesn't make one less of a woman or a man. And although I understand your point about it putting a strain on a relationship, it can definitely be used as a positive thing. Think about it. If couples can make it through challenges like this, they can make it through the everyday stuff much easier. That is until we (men) say something else that's stupid!

Hi everyone. I am feeling much better today and appreciate everyone's support. My DH is generally supportive, but as Jim said men can say stupid things (Thanks Jim!) :) Jim, you are also right that it can put other obstacles in perspective b/c if we can make it thru this we can make it thru anything. Hope that doesn't sound too cheesy!

Sameera--I hope you got the news you wanted this morning. I know how you feel. We drive over 2hrs each way to get to RE. Last cycle we had to leave the house, nurse called and said to go back home and come back for a day 5 transfer! It makes everything harder. Let us know how you are doing and what happened.

Welcome shep! This is my second cycle as well. I have only done fresh, as we had nothing to freeze from our first cycle. It seems like all the clinics have such different parameters on freezing.

Amber-I also simply bought the generic brand of 81mg aspirin. Thanks again for your kind words--it really helped

Yellow-Thanks for your kind words and thoughts as well. Hope you had a great weekend with your mom.

Rubylee-Are we married to the same guy? :) I have tried to get him to go for acupuncture, but he hasn't gone yet. He recently had surgery for sleep apnea and had a severely sore throat for 2wks. He was on lots of pain meds and now his stomach is feeling the effects. I will cont to urge him to go!

Chris-I didn't mean to worry you! Last cycle I had AF on Lupron, but it was not as heavy as it usually is. So, yours is probably fine. I think I may have started spotting this morning. I left a message for my acupuncturist, but she hasn't called back yet. I couldn't remember how to spell Ratts/Ratz, but like I said she did my ET last cycle. She seems very nice. Who is her nurse? Do you like her? Like I said, I really miss Dr Odem's nurse, Kathy. The other RE's nurses are filling in since she left. Acupuncture does get expensive, since I live in a rural area I think it is likely cheaper here. But, all this does add up!

SDtrying-thanks for your support! You are so right about this process affecting our careers, sense of womanhood and relationships! I guess that which does not kill us makes us stronger. Right?! It is good to know that other DHs lose it sometimes and act the same way. I think the cry helped me release some emotions. You're right abt us type A's never liking things easy :)

DrJen-

It's not cheesy. It's what makes a great marriage.

And the stupid things men say? I say them ALL THE TIME!

Wohoo!!! I'm so happy today but cramping and bloated really sucks :( but I don't plan to let that ruin my enjoyment.

I went this morning for my ET at 8:15am they transfered two 8 cell embryos, which my RE said were awesome and good- so my babies are finally home and safe. Now all they have to do is stay cozy and stick, grow~~~ ;)

my RE gave me the petri dish that my babies were in this morning after my procedure - It brought happy tears to my eyes because, me and my DH both came very long way emotionally and physically with this IF journey.. and we were very happy with the everything!!

Now I join the dreadful 2ww lol but I am gonna stay positive and wish for the best :)

Btw FYI lol I am off from work tomorrow so you guys will be seeing me lurking around and posting like crazy on this thread, Hope you guys don't mind :)

Sameera- You and your babies are in my prayers...I still maintain the 2ww is the WORST part of the whole experience!! Are you a HPT addict as well??

Yellow- (my favorite color FYI) The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem...I'll let you know if the program worked in about a month!! I have my doubts....I've squirreled away HPTs like a junkie!

DrJen- I was lucky enough to have some left over to freeze...I have to say, the frozen cycle is much easier...just the PIO shots, nothing else. It resulted in a chemical, which was closer than we got before!

Amberb- I'm a pharmacist...shop by price, any 81mg aspirin is fine...might want to get the enteric coated.

Rubylee- My DH has the same issue, but we thankfully have been able to retrieve sperm for our last fresh cycle. We also have a few frozen samples just in case there is no sperm on the day of the retrieval.
Don't worry about the Lupron, the subcutaneous injections are a breeze, you can easily do them yourself. The progesterone shots (if that's what your clinic prefers) are intramuscular and a bit more daunting.

Happy Sunday to all!! God Bless!

Hi girls! Had a friend up past few days so not had chance to read or post. Weather has been wellies and hoodies while out and about and it's supposed to snow again next week - yipee! Well, I say snow - up on the hills yes, down where we live a few non laying flakes to tease. I take it Lupron is the burserelin drug? I don't find that too bad, it's the stimms that sting and I prefer dh to stick those ones in. Not that I have any more now - took the hcg trigger last night ready for my ER tomorrow. I am soooooooo nervous - eggs, please, please!

Chris - my dh is struggling with the 'no beer' aspect too, though he does know, as I'm sure yours does, that it's nothing compared to what we have to go through. Mind you, it's probably the only thing that helps them with our hormone swings eh

Sameera - great news on your ET. Best of luck on your 2ww. Come on little soccerettes!

DrJen - so glad you're feeling better. Men can put their foot in it and when we are feeling particularly vulnerable it can feel like the end of the world. My job related stress has been mentioned a few times over the years - oh, how I would love to be a lady of leisure! I admire your dedication and how hard you work but I do hope you do find some time to relax too - for you! :)
Sure your AF will be here any time now hun x

Rubylee - dh on clomid? Wow, I didn't know men can take it too. I so hope it helps get his swimmers going. Accupuncture can do no harm and is great for relaxation. I'm on a course of 7 sessions - not sure if it helps but makes me feel better and it's great time out x

Chris - any sign of AF yet my darling?????????

To all you other lovely ladies - best of luck! :) :) :)

Hi ladies and men :)
AF is finally starting! I'm so relieved that I welcome the cramps this time!

Jim-I'm sure my husband would love to talk abt football, baseball or whatever sport you're in the mood for!

Sameera-Congrats! Those are great embies!! Take it easy and relax. That is so cool that you guys got the petri dish! I'm off work tomorrow too. I normally work 4 10hr days, so Mondays I'm off except for the past month when I've worked extra so I can take off for all my upcoming appts. So, anyway, post away--I'll be here too!

Amber-that's great you start stimming tomorrow! Hopefully I'll just be a week behind you :)

Jeanie-snow! It has been cold and rainy here. We've had horrible flooding over the past month. ER tomorrow--how exciting! Let us know how it goes when you feel like it. I'm sure it will go great! I know, I wish I could be a lady of leisure too. I am going to work on relaxing--maybe this is one of the lessons I'm supposed to learn from all of this :)

shep-I agree with you, the 2ww is the worst part of all. That's when we need more support than ever! Have a good Sunday.

Jeanie~ I'm very happy for you, good luck with your ER - I'm praying for you ! Hope they will find you tons of follies :)

DrJen~ Good to know you are feeling better - IVF effects guys as well I think they go thru emotional things as well. IF issues just sucks in general and plus work stress is just too much sometimes for one person to take and lashes out differently..sometimes guys can be insensitive just cause they don't know or think before how it's gonna effect you. Just try to pay attention to becoming a mommy since, that is the most important thing right now. Is for you to take care of yourself and make this dream of yours come true. I'm sure he realizes his mistake.

Courtney~ you are a sweetheart - Thank you so very much! I am gonna milk this one and let my DH take care of me yet again this week LOL

Dri-Jim~ Thanks yeah and soon you will be in the homestrech and waiting will begin :)

Shep~ I think i am addicted to POAS but I promised myself this time I am going to try to NOT do HPT and would much rather get beta results from the nurse.

Yellow~ how are you doing?

Amber~ did you ever find out what asprin to get??wohoo stims - Once you start stimming time just flies.

JesJes - you are getting close to your ER - Wow, I bet you are getting anxious and really excited.

Dodo~ How are you feeling?

Chelly~ Have you started stimming??

Hows everyone else doing??

Thanks for advising me on aspirin.. I got Equate 36 chewable tablets of cherry flavour :).. I just cant wait enough to start my stims tomorrow..funny isnt it:) I just hope time flies off quickly...

Hey since past 3-4 days I got some rashes above my belly button.. is it because of the mediines which I am consuming...could it be some kind of reaction... I am not sure if its something I need to be worried of....Iam just applying some ointment as of now and hope it heals...

Hows everything else.. does stims stings more than lupron?I guess its the same kind of short needle which we use for lupron...isnt it.....
