Jenn--The weather has finally been better here, too. Yesterday was 72 degrees, but there was a 45 mph wind :? Today is truly gorgeous, though. We just went for a long walk and then sat outside while dh messed with his bike. It's nice to be outside. It was a long winter! Glad to hear Anna is growing and healthy. Shots are hard, huh? When Lucy was like 6 weeks old, she had to go to the er because she had a fever over 101 degrees. They did a spinal tap! Talk about hard to watch! I've got a needle phobia any way (you'd think IVF would have cleared that up, huh!?)

Nickster--How's work going? Sorry to hear you've been putting in lots of hours. Do you work 12 hours on, 12 off? I don't know how nurses do it---tougher than I am! I don't know if fabulous is the right word (my hair never looks fabulous, try as I might!) but it's much better. Gray, huh? Hmmm. That is a nice family gene to pass down. I don't have that, but I have fat thighs just like my aunts. Hmmm, that sounded kind of mean but really, we laugh about it. We call them the "thighs" and joke about them, like they're a member of the family. I still get teased about the time oh about 10 years ago when I was at the table at some family event playing cards and I happened to look down and see my thighs. I burst into tears because they looked so big. Needless to say, I'm a bit of a drama queen and I have never really lived that one down!

Anyway, hope things are good with everyone. Also hoping that Natalie gets voted off on Big Brother tonight! I would love to see that girl outta there!

Hey girls~

I just put a picture of my little girl after her appointment on the photo site for you. She got a Band-Aid for every shot and I thought that was funny so I took a picture. They pretty much take up her whole legs! Notice her painted toes. I wanted her to do the sisterhood proud for her Dr. appointment! :)

Good night!
Jenn

Great picture, Jenn! I love the toe nail polish--very chic. Lucy has had her toes in her mouth pretty much since the day she was born (she's nothing but a lady!) so I'm afraid to paint hers. Very cool. Oh, and Lucy has the same binkie! I love it! Did you decide to give her tylenol before the visit to help with the shots?

Meg~
I gave her some medicine at the Dr. office. When I looked at the bottle it didn't have a dosage for her. It said 'ask your Dr.' so I was afraid to give it to her. Her Dr. told me how much and said to give it to her every 4 hours for the rest of the day, and next time to give it to her like in the waiting room when we got there. That way she would have it in her when they give the shot.

Glad you like the picture and the toes. My friend's baby has her foot in her mouth ALL the time it is soooo funny. Anna hasn't figured that out yet.

Have a great day! I am off to the store. We are having a crawfish boil this weekend and I need to go get the fixin's!

Meg~ I'm actually not working that hard, I shouldn't complain (but I usually do anyway!!). My normal schedule is 3 eight hour night shifts a week (11p-7a), but a lot of times if their busy I go in at 7 and work 12 hours.
I was cracking up when you were talking about the "inherited family genes". Funny you mentioned the thighs, I also have inherited one of my aunts huge butt and thighs! I always tell my mom, I'm so glad I could be handed a little of everyone in the family's bad traits! I have my uncle's gray hair, her ezema, my aunts butt, and my grandpas sun allergy. You gotta love it! I guess it could always be worse though!
I'm glad to hear your weather is nice. Ours is too and everyone is LOVING it. Like you said, it has been such a long winter, I'm ready to be done with it.

Jenn~ Anna is sooo cute! Those band-aids all over those little thighs to cover her battle wounds! She didn't seem to be too affected by the shots, she looks happy as can be. The toe nail polish is ...very chic!

Oh and girls...Natalie is FINALLY gone!! I didn't think they were going to end up voting her out, but they did and I loved it! I was hoping Sharon won HOH instead of Ryan though.

How is everyone else?

Talk to everyone soon.

Hi girls - I can sympathise on the grey hairs - if I left them I reckon I'd be half grey by now - not a good look as a new mum. I've got over my phobia of colouring and have had it done a couple of times since being preggers and wombat seems to be none the worse.

All going well here - wombat's room is getting worse not better - it now has a hole in the floor - DH was exploring around the old chimney and hearth and pulled it all apart - he assures me all is under control

I've started getting nausea in the mornings - think it was coz I was rushing around, and wombat was stirring and I wasn't giving my breakfast time to settle. Anyway work have been sympathetic and I am now going in a bit later and avoiding the crush on the trains - much better.

Better go - I am starving again. upto 9kg's increase now but nothing dramatic since last week so that is good - I should go for a walk today as it's beautiful but have to go and buy fruit & veg. Excuses!

Have great weekends everyone.

Ok, thought I would take a break and e-mail you all! First of all, let me say that my husband and I are huge Big Brother fans and I was ready to kill you all when I logged on last week and found out Natalie had been booted off! I have been traveling, so we keep DVRing episodes!! I did not FLIPPIN' know yet - damn you all! :D :D Actually, it was pretty funny because as we were watching the taped versions, I kept saying, "Do you want to know who gets voted off? Do ya? Do ya"?!?! I think my husband wanted to say "shut the f-ck up", but refrained because I have been a bit sensitive lately. :) But good riddance to Natalie - she was annoying!!! Besides - she had no fashion sense. TACKY! So, who do you guys think is going to win???

Angie - Do you think it is time to ask the hubby to step aside on wombat's room and hire a professional? They always love when you throw that kind of thing in their face and they realize that you don't think they are doing a great job - it usually steps up their game! Give it a shot! :)

Nickster - How is the exercise/weight reduction plan going? I swear I am gaining a pound a day rather than a pound a week which is what is expected. It sucks! Truthfully, I eat pretty well and am still exercising, so the weight gain amazes me sometimes. Oh well! Oh - and my family curse is the STOMACH! All weight goes straight there, so I have these twig legs and arms and I am just a big belly. I look a bit like a beetle these days, I believe.

Jenn - Anna is so cute!!! She gets more and more precious with every pic!!

Meg - Glad your weather has gotten better up there. We are just plain HOT down here lately. And the humidity is creeping in already...yuck. Going to be a long, hot summer for me as I deliver in AUGUST!!

Where is Sassy? And Fee - quit playing hide-and-go-seek! Where the heck are you???

Vicky - let me know how your childbirth classes go - I am anxious to start mine!! My best friend is throwing us a couple's shower in June and I can't wait!

Ok, I am back to work. UGGGGHH!! I have to fly out again Monday for another East coast trip - business travel + pregnancy = SH-TTY TIP!!!

Don't worry Tina - you are in the "growth phase" - 2nd tri is when I stacked it on! It seems to have slowed now (then that becomes a worry coz you think I haven't gained any - hope the baby's growing!)

I am mainly belly - although I must say my long boots are a tiny bit tight which is not what to see - fat calves - only bought the boots last year !

Well I hope everyone is going well - we have a public holiday today - no work - yippee - and going to a friends for dinner - double yippee - I don't have to cook.

Went for a swim this morning - the feeling of weightlessness was wonderful - I still got really puffed out but feel better for it.

OK time for lunch.

Bye girls - post soon. :D

Tina~ I am sooo sorry we ruined the Big Brother surprise for you! I didn't even think that someone maybe hadn't watched it yet and I should have because we are big dvr'ers too. Sorry!
My weight loss plan is actually not going, I'm not real sure why. I have been eating really good, drinking lots of water and doing the treadmill every day since we've had it. I've not lost one pound. It sucks!!!
And...I'm sure you do not look like a beetle (although you had me cracking up)! You looked awesome in those pictures and I'm sure you still do!

Angie~ Enjoy your holiday! Hey where are we in the countdown to maternity leave?

Hope everyone else is well.

Have a good weekend.

Oh I've been a bad sister, I just tried scrolling back to see when I last posted and could not find one for ages...sorry bout that.

I am full on busy at work, trying to impress them so that they will let me work part-time and part from home. I've been in court a lot which is also stressful...

How are we all, it has been pretty quiet around here?

Just wanted to say howdy, can't stay long as I have to prepare for work tomorrow.

Hope you are all well, any gossip for me???

Fee

PS where the heck is Robbo? and Sassy?

Hi girls.... long time, no chat

Angie: Wow! look at that ticker! I can't believe your self-control. Despite my better judgment, I have been picking out (although not doing much buying) baby stuff for a few weeks now. Not long now, my friend, so why is dh futzing around with wombat's room? I suppose as long as he gets it all sufficiently repaired by the time wombat arrives...

Tina: Girl... add your "beetle" shape to my decidedly (much more than prior to preg) pear silhouette, and we are quite a pair

Jenn: I am off to check out the new picture!! Crawfish boil? Yummmm!

Meg: I laughed out loud when I read your story about bursting into tears after looking at your thighs (especially bad when they are all spread out when sitting down, IMHO). I about lost it this week along a similar line. I swear the first 10 lbs I gained when straight to my already ample a&& and thights. So none of my clothes would fit... but not because of my belly... because of my butt  A few days ago I burst into tears when getting ready in the morning since I my thighs looked ENORMOUS to me in the mirror. I felt so frumpy and whale-like (and can't do anything about it since I can't exercise, and actually need to be gaining MORE weight that I am!). Dh had no idea why I was so upset and I could hardly explain through the tears. So I marched myself out to a local hoity-toity maternity boutique that I swore I wouldn't step foot in since it is so expensive... and bought myself some jeans that make me look more like a delivery truck than a semi from the back. I can't tell you how much happier that made me

Nickster: You, too got the "butt and thigh" curse? *sigh*

Fee: still working full time in the office? How is Rio?

As far as we know the trips are doing well. Our most recent US was a week ago. They are called "Cervical Checks". A quick abdominal "look-see" of the babies just including heart rate and fluid (which all looked fab), followed by... the dildocam. Yes, sistas... I have not actually graduated from the wand we all know intimately. In fact, I am scheduled for such rendezvous every two weeks for another month or so... then every week. Oh good, just when I thought I was going through withdrawal  . They have to measure the length of my cervix just in case it decides to thin out prematurely. Will update after the US next week. I am going to try to talk the tech into peeking at "the goods". I mean... am I buying all pink or not? In three weeks I have another "full" anatomical US scheduled, so we should know for sure by then. If my belly is any judge... the trips are still growing like weeds. This is the first week that I think I look pregnant instead of just fat (although the appearance of cellulite ON MY CALVES seems to support the latter). I will post a picture in the next week or two to show what I mean. I have gained 16 lbs. (7.3kg for our Australian friends) and although it seems like a lot, I am actually still 5 lbs behind target for the 15 week mark. Must.eat.more.food

To satisfy Fee's need for gossip... The ******* was paroled Monday from prison. He served 6 months on the 12-30 month sentence which we were assured (and which dh believed, but I didn't for a second) would be at least 2 years with his record. But don't worry. The sistas in the US don't need to start putting bars on their windows (yet)... he has new charges so was transferred from prison to the county jail. We knew ahead of time... but apparently he didn't. Can you imagine the disappointment when instead of kickin' it with his homies for dinner last night he was instead hanging out with the other jail-birds at his favorite spooge-laden lock-up? The new charges are three felony domestic violence counts and one felony burglary counts. We don't yet know what they are all about... time will tell.

Hope you are all well

Sassy! I can not believe that you are already 15 weeks---it has gone so quickly. I know, easy for me to say when I'm not the one carrying around 3 babies! So glad to hear things are going well. Funny about the brother in law--bet that second trip to jail brought him down a step or two. How much weight do they want you to gain for triplets in total? I know for one you are supposed to eat an extra 300 calories a day--does that mean 900 a day for trips???? Wowsers!

Things are good here. I'm just focused on losing weight--I get a little obsessive about it at times if I let myself. But I can't get too carried away as I'm still nursing Lucy so I have to keep my calories at a respectable level. We're going to Cape Cod in June for vacation, so I want to fit back in all of my summer clothes by then. I figure that means 10 pounds to fit, 16 pounds to look good in them. So I"m trying to lose 2 pounds a week. We'll see how that goes. Dh is at golf league tonight, so it's just me and Lucy. She's in laying on the floor--crawling around!!!! Well, not so much a real crawl as a scoot. Still, she can move. It's scary! We're going to have to baby proof the place this weekend. Gates and plugs and all that.

Well, she's yelling at me. Hope all is well with everyone. We've all been sort of quiet lately! Let's hear some stories!

Sassy - great to hear from you and everyone else too. I think my OB should be a boot camp instructor instead - he keeps ripping me off! First time I went he said look to gain 10 to 15Kg (OK I thought - should be able to keep in those parameters!) - then a bit later he said 12 kg is about right. Then yesterday he said my 10kg was the average weight gain (ripped off there as my scales tell me its 9kgs) so try not to go too crazy over the last few weeks.

He is a hard task master! (Actually he is really nice too - I like him so much more than Dr G and his moustache).

Anyway SAssy I am glad your new jeans make you feel good - jeans are a distant memory for me - am holding off in the vague hope I 'll jump straight back into my old ones - ha! Oh well there's always the trackie pants.

Wombat's room now has smooth walls rather than cracks but still a hole in the floor - DH is having a weekend off DIY and going to a friends 40th - I had to decline as it's a one hour flight and energy levels are dropping a bit these days - actually looking forward to weekend in, relaxing with a DVD in the warm !

I'll post more over the w/e when DH has left me .
