Girls - any more news on its a boy or girl? We only have boys so far! How is all the testing going?

Mellie - I updated your date on the post above. How fun to have gone to Switzerland! I love their chocolate! The soft markers are a hole in the stomach, no nasal bone and some other things, you can google them, weezie is right the terms are super complicated. Are you doing any testing? Keep in mind that the baby can have soft markers and be fine, have no soft markers and have something. So it is all a gamble game unless you do an amnio.
Weezie - another boy! Woo-hoo! Boys are awesome and you will love it! Then off to a girl next! Have fun on your cruise, I updated you on the post above as well.

Ladies, I swear I am keeping up with the reading on you all! It looks like most people are having boys on this board! Well, you can count me out of that club! We had our sex check today and they are twin girls!! I was hoping for at least one boy but they are both girls. Everything looks good with their organs and the doctor can not see any birth defects which is nice. The husband is a little bumbed about the sexes I can tell but they will be daddys girls. So we will just have to get pregnant again!

Hope all is well with you all!! Congrats again!!

Hi Everyone!

Post by krista »

I have read all of your posts for months now and have been reluctant to post myself. It is so nice to see that others are in a similar situation as myself. Here is a little bit about me: I have been married to DH for just over 7 years now. We have a DS who just turned 3 last weekend (our little miracle- little did we know then). Since I had my son, I have had 3 miscarriages. Back in September I had my left tube removed from hydrosphinx. Fortunately, we became pregnant with our first try of IVF and we are due on October 27th :D . However, my OB informed me last week that he will be tricking my body into developing the baby at a faster rate and we will be delivering between 32-37 weeks due to high risk of still born. I'm still quite overwhelmed by last weeks news. We will hopefully find out what the sex is on May 29th. I see just about all of you will be having boys- boys are wonderful and very active. I am hoping for a girl only because girls are stronger and I'm paranoid about delivering early. Has anybody been having Braxton Hicks? I have been feeling them for weeks now. I did read that Braxton Hicks begin at 6 weeks, but they cannot be felt that soon, obviously. My DR. thought that I should look into Weight Watchers (I gained 78 lbs. with my DS). If you don't mind me asking...How many points do you get a week while pregnant. I was looking at the conversion chart, I think I could have 40 points a day, which gives me plenty of food without depriving myself. It's almost double the amount of points just being pregnant. Obviously, I have a lot to say. I've really enjoyed reading all of your posts and I hope everyone continues to be in good health.

Krista- WELCOME!!!!!! Congratulations on your pregnancy! I bet you are excited about finding out the sex at the end of the month. I get to do that on Monday and I can hardly wait. Why is your doctor so worried about your baby being still born? As far as Weight Watchers goes, I lost 44 pounds before becoming pregnant using their points system. I loved it! There is no recommended points for pregnant women because they won't allow pregnant people to attend WW. I would ask your doctor to send you to a nutritionist who should be able to give you a good eating plan. Keep us posted on all your news!

Rio - Awesome lists! Thanks for doing them! How is your vacation going? Or are you home now?

sugarbeanz - Congratulation on your girls! Your DH will love them!!! Have you thought of names yet?

weezie - Another boy! Woo Hoo! I am glad your scan went well. And you get to do another one, which is always nice.

I got my AFP blood results back and they were "screen negative" so there is no reason for me to do any other genetic testing. Hooray! I have my anatomy u/s on Monday and as long as that goes well I will be very relieved. I am so excited to know the sex and hope he/she cooperates.

I am finally feeling better after being so sick, but I did have to put my little dog to sleep on Monday which just destroyed DH and myself. I am now looking for another poodle/maltese mix dog. I just can't stand to be home alone and my DH away from home for half the week, more in the summer. I am hoping that one of the local shelters will have what I am looking for sometime soon.

Hope you all are having a good week. Any fun plans for the weekend?

Quick question to all you ladies out there. Lately I have not been feeling connected to these babies inside of me? Like I know I am pregnant because I have seen them on the ultrasound but I do not feel pregnant? Weird I know. Tonight I just broke down and cried because I just do not feel attached to these babies. I have heard of postpartum depression but not pregnancy depression? I mean I have my good days when I love life and whatnot but there are still those days when I get sad and feel unconnected. I will definitely talk to my doctor about it...just is weird when most people are all excited about pregnancy and being pregnant. Any one else experiences this loss of connection with your pregnancy? Dont get me wrong, I am excited about being a mom and my girls once they are here just weird feelings.

ON a happier note....Happy Mothers Day to all you ladies!!!

Krista: I was told by doctors that it was ok to be on WW during pregnancy. Some day to follow the points value as if nursing but I am not sure about the points...I may just double them? And I agree that it is weird they are so nervous about still birth.

Gecko: So sorry about your loss, losing a friend and family member like that is hard...

Cinci: Go girls!!!

Loopie: I am sure you are right about the universe working everything out for you. I would be scared about an amnio as well if I had to get one done.

As for names the husband and I got to chose one each....as of the moment (he is not budging on his name and my mom hates it haha) his pick was Mackenzie (I will call her Kenzie most likely) and my choice is Katherine (Katie). Mackenzie Elise and Katherine Elizabeth. Their middle names are just different dialects of the same meaning "Devoted to God" which I think is neat them being twins and all.

Again, Happy Mothers Day!!!

Well, I had my anatomy u/s today and all is well. I will get the results from my doctor at my next appointment but the radiologist said that she didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Hooray!!!!! And...............

IT'S A BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have named him Declan Charles. We are very excited and happy. My DH knew it was a boy but I wasn't sure. We only had boy names picked out too. Now I can shop.

Katie - I know what you mean about the sleepless nights. I am a back sleeper and can't get comfy either. I am still battling a nasty cold too which makes it even harder. I hope it gets better.

Sugarbeanz - I get a weekly newsletter from my doctor and the last one talked about depression. It said it was VERY common. I would talk to your doctor about it. I know I had been ok, until I lost my dog. Then I went into a tail spin of depression. It helps to know that it is ok. I love the names both you and your DH picked for your girls!!!!!! Knowing their names sure makes it more real.

rio - Thanks for the sympathy for our little Lucy...... I am very touched. It has been REALLY hard not to have her here. I am hoping to find another canine companion soon. In the meantime both DH and myself find ourselves in tears when we think about her. Thanks for understanding.

Hope all is well with the rest of the mommas!

Hi all- congrats on all of the boy and girl beans!! I have my monthly appt tomorrow, and I don't know if we'll be doing an ultrasound, but I'm going to ask for one, and maybe we'll find out what kind we're having?!

Sug- i know what you mean, and I'm feeling it, too. I think the disconnect comes from having been so aware and exhausted, and sick the 1st trimester, and so every day, we are reminded of the baby's( babies') presence. Now that we are in the 2nd tri, I think feeling good, energized, and more like myself makes me feel less aware of the bean every minute of the day, and thus, makes me wonder if s/he is growing and doing ok. I am sure it is part of a great deal of pregnancies - just enjoy feeling like you, and know those little darlin's are doing great.

Gecko- congrats!

mellie - nice trip to see dh's family -wish mine lived somewhere so interesting...

anyone else have news?

I have my last day of teaching for the semester today, and am looking forward to a busy summer working on the house and making art- might as well do as much as I can while I feel pretty good. I have been having a hard time eating- I know they say eat more frequent, smaller meals, but it is next to impossible, so I end up eating once a day-ish, then feeling crummy for a few hours after-
anyhow- other than that- feeling groovy!

Hi everyone! It seems like it's been forever but I have been keeping track of everyone, just not posting. First off, my prayers go out to Acapulco. I am so sorry for your loss. And Gecko, I am sorry to hear about your little dog. What a terrible thing to have to go through. I hope you find a new puppy to love and who will love you back really soon. It sounds like everyone is moving along nicely, which is great and congratulations to all of you who know the genders! I haven't been up to much. I've been on bedrest since April 19th and there seems to be no end in sight. I have a subchorionic hematoma and have been bleeding ever since that trip to the ER on the 19th. Ugh. The good news is, my little fighters are still going strong. I have weekly ultrasounds, which is very comforting. Last week at the 13 wk u/s they did the NT scan and bloodwork. I don't have the b/w results back, but the tech said the measurements looked promising. They were also able to see the nasal bone in both babies. They are measuring a little bigger than gestational age, so my doc has adjusted my due date by a couple of days. He says that regardless to expect them to be delivered at least 3 weeks earlier, so DH and I have bet that the big day will be Oct 22. My u/s tech did a "teaser" gender check last week and she says that if she had to bet, she would say they are boys!!! We still have about 4 more weeks before we can confirm for certain and finally start shopping. It's been really hard having to be on bedrest. My doc doesn't want me working past 20 weeks, so even if I can get back to work soon, it will only be until June 24th and then my pregnancy leave will begin. I am enjoying the not working but it sure would be nice to get out and enjoy a work free life instead of being cooped up in bed! But I know I have to do what is best for the babies because they are all that matters right now. If they are in fact boys, they will be named Braedon and Donovan. We haven't even considered girl names because we have thought all along that they were boys. I have my next u/s tomorrow with OB and also have my first consult with the perinatologist. We are praying the little ones will still be doing well. I also found out yesterday that I have a bladder infection. I don't know where the heck that came from but I have started on some antibiotics for that. Oh, and they also have me on an iron supplement now because I am anemic. Geez, if it isn't one thing it's another! I guess I just wasn't meant to be one of those glowing adorable pregnant women. As a matter of fact, I have been the exact opposite! Anyway, I'll stop rambling for now. Each week seems to be a milestone for us so we continue to be thankful for everything we have. I just can't wait to hit 20, then 24, then 28 weeks...
