Shep - That sounds like a painful Mother's Day! You are a brave women to even attempt such a feat at a time like this. I agree with a ban on the day. I went into it smiling and happy only to be blind sided by giddy mothers and daughters strolling through their perfect day. They really should be more sensitive. . Seriously though.... a pool would be pretty cool.

They had predicted Thurs or Friday, so I am right on schedule. RE has adjusted my drugs a bit though. My E2 was super high so I am down to 1 amp Repronex and he upped my Lupron back up to 10 so my eggs would stay in. He said they were looking so juicy they might just squeeze out on their own. Feeling pretty good other than Freddy Kruger holding up inside my uterus. A little crazy for sure, I cried a few times yesterday on stupid things like a CNN segment and an Alison Krauss/Robert Plant song, but that is to be expected for sure. Please let me know how the U/S goes tomorrow, I would love to hear how you're responding, aside from cracking up.

I have been looking for something like this since I started!

Post by JennTiff »

I hope I can join you gals! My name is Jenn (30)! I have been married for four years to a wonderful man named Josh (32). In March of 05' I got preggers when not trying and had a mc at about 4-6 wks (terribly painful). After that it woke us up to having kids and we immediately started trying, and trying, and trying! I'll give you the infertility run-down. My hubby was previously married and had 2 miscarriages and another ectopic. So, that's 4 all together. He was tested and has high count with poor morphology and clumping. We did two cycles of IUI with no meds-failed. I have always been regular, but sever cramps during menses. OB/GYN did surgery with laparoscopy, hystersalpingogram, and umm I forget what it's called (looked inside the uterus). Found mild endo on cul de sac of uterus and bowel. Removed on cul de sac to sensitive for removal on bowel. That was in Feb. Two weeks later went to FS. Started IVF cycle on March 12. Have taken BCP, PNV, BA, Lupron, Gonal-f, Menopur, HCG, Methylprednisone, Doxy and I think that is it. Everything has gone super smooth. Except when estradiol came back showed low estrogen levels. However, I had 30 follicles total and at ER they removed 21 they weren't too concerned. They did ICSI and of the 21 removed 15 fertilized. They called two days later and said we would have to do a 3dt. At the office the RE showed the grading and to all of our surprise there were none in Grade 1 the majority in Grade 2 and several in Grade 3. In Grade two the majority were below cell 4. There were two good ones for ET in Grade 2/1- 6cell and 1- 8cell. She also gave us the choice of adding one from Grade 2/ 5 cell. With little contemplation we chose 3. I was so surprised to here the news about the eggs and she said that it is a good indication that there is an egg quality problem too (Triple Whammy). So, we did the ET and I am in my last "princess day" today. They strongly recommended 2 days of total rest. Tomorrow I will call to see if any were able to be frozen. Now I am in the dreaded waiting period. I get my first beta on the 18th and the second on the 20th. I am on an emotional rollercoaster and if this doesn't work I don't think I can go through this again. I always tell people that it was one thing to think about the disappointment when the period came, but to be forced to think about it with every injection and every pill is devastating. I don't call myself a pessimist or an optimist, but a realist. Therefore, I have conjured up a Plan B..........for next time. I've enjoyed this thread and look forward to chatting with y'all.

Hello, all! I still enjoy keeping tabs on you all even though I'm just anxiously awaiting AF.

JennTiff, welcome! Thanks for sharing your story. I can't wait to hear your plan B. Why did they say you have egg quality issues? Your fertilization doesn't look too bad. I could be losing it, but I think someone posted that Grade 1's are pretty rare.

MommyTwingle, congratulations! What a wonderful surprise.

SD, a blast transfer! Yay! Are you on bedrest?

jharris, good luck on Wednesday. I'll be looking for your results!

Rubylee, sorry to hear about DH. That is so sweet that he was trying to improve things naturally. Juicy follicles?! That sounds good! I really hope things work out for you guys.

I think my bloating has FINALLY decreased -- one week after the ER. The nurse said AF would come in 10 to 14 days. I keep checking the calendar and it seems impossible that only 7 days have passed. Time is crawling.

I'm glad to see this board active again! So I took my trigger last night. It wasn't too bad. I iced the spot for about 15 minutes while the DH figured out how to mix the meds. He was more nervous about giving the shot than I was to take it! But he did great. It didn't hurt hardly at all. It's a little sore today, but I can handle it. I go in this morning for a beta check to make sure the trigger is working, then my ER is schedule for tomorrow morning!! I'm so excited! :D

sameera: Sorry about you getting sick. I hope it goes away soon. Good luck w/the US! Can't wait to hear your results!

RubyLee: Sorry the test results weren't what you were hoping for. Your story about the DH was great. It is so sweet how many things he tried Good luck to you. My emotions have been a rollercoaster, too! I think I'm driving my DH crazy already!

SD: Yay on your transfer! Good luck getting through your 2ww. I will hopefully be there soon!

shep181: Your story made me laugh! It's funny how we have to schedule stuff around these shots!

JennTiff: Welcome to a wonderful group of great, supportive ladies!Congrats on your ET and good luck on your 2ww!

Yellow: Glad to see you are still around! I'm glad the bloating went down, and I hope time speeds back up for you soon to get that FET going!

OK, time to get back to work. I will check in on you all a little later!

I'm so glad to hear from everyone again! Thanks for not leaving. I'm feeling kind of crampy and getting nervous. I may cave and POAS Thursday or Friday am prior to my beta on Friday.

jharri-yeah for the ER! Good luck tomorrow.

Shep-I love your stories--they always make me smile and relate!

SD-congrats on the ET! I have a 2ww buddy.

RubyLee-your follies sound great! I'll be thinking of you and praying all goes well.

JennTiff-I know the 2ww is agonizing. This is my 2nd IVF cycle and my beta is 5/16-this Friday! All I can do now is pray. Another 2ww buddy!

Yellow-glad you're still here. When is the FET planned? Glad bloating is down. It's crazy how we either can't wait for AF or we hope and pray it never comes! Here's hoping AF comes soon for you.

MommyTwingle-Congrats, so happy for you :!: :D

Sameera-sorry you're feeling sick. Thanks for the BFP wishes.

Turtle-I'm praying for your follies. Thanks for the sticky thoughts!

I'm glad you're all sticking around. No pun intended :) Jenny

Glad to see our thread has revived itself!!!

jharris- congrats on the trigger! after ER/ET I'm sure the 2ww will fly by...just make sure you take it easy and don't over exert yourself! good luck, can't wait to hear the egg count and fert report!!!

sameera- I am starting to feel your pain...as the days go by I find myself getting more and more queasy! No vomiting as of yet, but I see some pretty gross stuff at work, so I can't rule it out!

yellow- I think I stayed bloated for my whole 2ww, or maybe I just got fat. Does your clinic always freeze all the embies or did you have OHSS? Hope you get AF soon!

jenntiff- welcome to the thread...as you have seen we are a very lucky group, we have had so many BFPs! Try not to stress, the 18th will come soon...hey, you have 3 embies so it betters the chance atleast one will stick! Are you doing progesterone supplements? I have had several people tell me that the progesterone can sometimes 'rescue' a pregnancy in danger of miscarrying, so hopefully with the supplementation it will increase your chances of carrying through!

rubylee- I got a kick out of your 'Freddy Kruger' reference...that is a good analogy! I have totally crazy mood swings to,and poor DH is usually the object of my rage. Oh well, blame it on the hormones!!

shep- Well, we told our parents about our BFP hoping the be a mothers day 'gift' and at least your MIL didn't go into how much labor hurt and that I shouldn't be scared cause so-and-so did it, and so-and-so carried her twins to term...blahblahblah....my MIL is the only person in this world that can make any conversation totally about her! I feel your pain!

SDtrying- congratulations on the transfer! Sticky baby dust to you!

mommytwingle- congratulations!! yeaa for another BFP!

turtle- we need to tell those runaway follies to slow down and let the other catch up! I hope they don't cancel! Keep us posted!

drjenn- sending sticky baby dust!!

God Bless-
Michele

Sorry I haven’t posted. I am a great lurker but not a great poster.

jharris- I am so happy that your cycle turned for the better. Good luck with ER/ET.

sameera- Sorry you are feeling so bad, just think of all the stuff you went thru just so you can fell sick for the next 9 months.

yellow- Hope you get AF soon. That sucks that you couldn’t do you ET but at least you have several good embies on ice.

jenntiff- Welcome to the thread, hopefully your 2ww will go by smoothly and fast.

rubylee- I feel like I have “Feddy Krugger” in my uterus every time I ovulate. No wonder I can’t get pg, what embie in their right mind would want to cuddle up there and stay for 9 months. As for your DH, he sounds like a great guy to try and change whatever he can to get better spermies. I love my DH to death but I really don’t know how far he would go if the problem was found to be at his end.

shep- You defiantly did better on Mother Day then I did. I just sat around the house all day watching movies. My Dh wanted to go to the MIL and I axed the idea because I didn’t want to socialize and be nice all day.

SDtrying- Congrats on your transfer, good luck on the 2ww.

mommytwingle and Chelly - Yeah more BFP’s!!!!

turtle- hopefully your follies decide to slow down and let the rest catch up. It sucks to have to cancel a cycle after you have done some much planning and hoping.

drjenn- I will be thinking about you on Friday. Come on BFP.

To everyone else I missed, I hope everything is going well and GOOD LUCK.

As for me, I am out this cycle. I got a negative on HPT yesterday and today. Called the RE’s office yesterday and they said to stop PIO injections and they have already set up a calendar for my next cycle. I will start Lupron on June 3, Follistim on June 18 and then ER the first week of July. I will probably move over to the June buddies board but I will still keep in touch here. . I don’t want to leave the “Golden Girls” either, so many have had such good luck.

Chris - I'm so sorry about your BFN - But I am very glad to hear that you are trying again and already have your set calendar/schedule for next cycle. I really hope it works for you :)

I do feel awful with nausea but i do plan to ask the RE to give me something for this stupid nausea. So i don't keep throwing up everything I eat...

Hey ladies. I have a quick question. How did you all feel after ER? Were you able to go back to work the day after? I told my boss I would be out tomorrow for the retrieval, but that I wasn't sure how I would feel Thursday. Should I expect to feel okay the next day? Thanks ladies!

sameera: I hope your RE can get you something to make you feel better!

Chris: I am so sorry to hear that this cycle wasn't successful for you. But it is so inspiring to see that you are already getting ready for the next round. We are all here for you! And half of us are on the May/June thread for you, too! :D

Jharris - after my ER i took one day off and the next day I went back to work. I didn't had really bad cramps or anything - so I guess it depends on your body.

Listen to what it says and if you feel upto then go to work or you could sit at home and watch some tv/movies or whatever!!

jharris, for me the few days after ER were the worst but I nearly had OHSS. Are you feeling bloated and achy now? If so, maybe it's best to take another day off. But, as with this whole IVF thing, everybody is different. Good luck tomorrow!

sameera, sorry you are feeling so sick. At least it's for a happy reason. Have you tried all the "home rememdies?" Small frequent meals, high carb foods, ginger, sucking on hard candy?

Chris, so sorry about your BFN. :( Looks like your next cycle will be pretty close to my FET. I think the transfer will be in early July. Let's hope some of the good luck here carries forward with us.

Michele, my clinic doesn't always freeze all the embryos. The RE thought I was too high a risk for OHSS -- high estrogen, lots of follies, fluid around my ovaries. Since the more severe forms are associated with pregnancy, we cancelled the transfer. :(

Jim, welcome back.

DrJen, I'm a big fan of POAS. But I can support the non-addicted among us. :)

I'm strangely not all that upset that the transfer was cancelled. With this whole IVF thing I think you just have to be ready for anything -- just go with the flow. I think my FET will be sometime in early July. I'll get the official schedule when AF arrives -- three to seven more days. :)
