Mellie- I, too, am bigger in the evening than in the morning. I thought it may have something to do with eating during the day making my stomach bigger. I have an obvious belly at this point though, so the size difference isn't all that obvious. Strange, huh?
yep- I have the ever changing belly, too!
seems pretty good size in the morning, then changes throughout the day!
I'm getting really tired again, too! grrrr- I thought I was getting my stride back, maybe had been doing too much?
Krista- how are you?
Sug, Sas and Corny - you doing ok with the multis? Corny- hope you are taking extra care to relax Tammy- are your #s improving ? will you have to be on insulin throughout your pregnancy?
We're almost half way there!!!! hope you all are feeling great
I think the ever changing belly is common. I am HUGE at night.
Well ladies, today I was officially put on bed rest for 2 weeks (at least). Since the little thing that happened this past weekend and because my cervix has shortened a little. It is still in the great ok range but Baby A is putting so much pressure on it it hurts to walk and thus she is making it get a little shorter. So hopefully in two weeks she moves or something so I can get up and move around again. My husband does not like this idea since he will have to get everything for me!! Oh well. I got to call work today and say SEE YA! So no more teaching for me for a few years.
Other than that, all is well. Hope all is well with you!

Hi Girls! How's everyone? I hope everyone had a nice Mothers Day! Mine was pretty quiet. It was also my birthday that weekend, but being on bedrest, there wasn't much celebrating to be done. It sounds like everyone is doing great. Suga - welcome to bedrest! It's not bad in the beginning, but boy does it get old quickly. My DH is tired of waiting on me, that's for sure! I'm on my 5th week. So get this girls, we went to the peri last week...at week 13 my u/s tech said she thought for sure we had boys, then last week at the peri, the tech said she would bet it's girls! So who knows!!! Anatomy check is on June 10, so hopefully we will get a good view and have a more definitive answer. I have one more week before my next u/s and I am stressing out about whether or not the babies are ok. This is the first time I have had to go 2 full weeks in between appointments. We bought all of our nursery furniture too. Yay! It's in the garage for now. Probably won't set it up until August or so, but it's ready when we are. That's about it for me. I noticed a few of you mentioned you are bigger in the evening...me too! It's my favorite part of the day because if not for the big belly at night, I wouldn't even feel pregnant. And not feeling pregnant is what's freakin' me out. I can't wait to start feeling them, if for nothing else than a little peace of mind.
Anyone else have a baby shower coming up? Mine is the last weekend in June. DH and I are heading to Babies R Us this weekend to register. Any advice? Since some of you have already had babies I thought you might have some suggestions. Or, those of you who are having your first may have heard about things through the grapevine.
Anything you guys think is really important to have? Or, anything that would be a real waste of money?
Hi girls!! It sounds like everyone is doing really well. I have a ? has anyone else had brief moments of Pressure WAY LOW? Last two days I have and it kinda freaks me out. I dont know if its because he is in a weird spot or what. I go to doc next wed for the US for anatomy check. Well other then that im doing well. Im trying everything to stayon my sides at night and I keep finding myself on my back. Anyway enough griping hope all is well!!!!

Katie- I have been having the same feeling as you plus some weird nerve pains. I am guessing it is ok, but will check with my doctor next Wednesday at my regular ob appt.
Mellie- I have friends who want to have a shower for me in June so DH and I plan to go to Babys R Us on Sunday to register too. I have NO idea what to get!!!! I hope there will be someone there who will be able to help us. Online they have a suggested list too, so I am going to print that out and take it with us. Let me know how you do.
Corny and Suga- I am so sorry you are both stuck on bed rest. It is for a good cause, but has got to get dull after a while. I don't know how I would manage it since my DH has to work away from home half a week. I guess I would have to move in with my mother.......yikes! I hope I can avoid that!
Everything is going well with me. I feel pretty good these days - just getting huge. I have gained about 17 pounds so far. I didn't want to gain that much but can't seem to stop eating! I have another two weeks of school left and then I am free for 10 weeks of summer vacation bliss. I can't wait. I plan to spend lots of time getting the nursery together and resting.
Mellie - shower stuff already!!! Things friends have suggested to me are...
a breast pump, glass bottles or ones that don't leach out the weird plastic toxins, bath and bedding stuff, a bouncy chair thingy, usually some of the fancier places can have a guide walk you through the stuff you'll need- baby's r might do that, too. Target has some good baby stuff, as well.
I'm going to put just a couple of clothing items on my list so folks who may not know my style will know that I don't want pastel pink(or blue) stuff for my little bean- there are so many cool, vibrant colors - and these awesome little kimono things- and organic cotton- crazy soft- wish they made them in my size!
I started to look at strollers- what a mess! there are so manyand being in the city, I need something with big wheels to get around the potholes, but don't want it so big, I can't get it in the car, and weight is an issue as my back really has it's limits. I looked at strollers.com - good information, but now I need to see them in person!
Saw the Blue Angels yesterday in Annapolis ( I bartend for a nice couple every year who throw a big party and watch them fly) it is really amazing!
they are5 F16 fighter jets that whiz around flipping and zipping within feet of one another at crazy G's for the graduation of the US Naval Academy midshipmen - it's quite a site
Mellie - about registering...I don't know if you have any friends or family around that have kids, but if so, I would recommend taking one of them with you to register. I've heard that if you ask for help from a store associate or use the list they provide, you often end up registering for and getting million things that you will never use. After all, they are just trying to make the sale! I plan to take my sister when we register. She has 2 kids and will be able to tell me honestly what we really need and what she got that she never used. I can't see myself using half the stuff on those lists...although I tend to be more of a minimalist when it comes to stuff like this. I was the same way with my wedding registry. Good luck! I can't wait to get far enough along (and off bedrest) to register.
Gecko - I know what you mean about DH being gone while on bedrest. Luckily mine works 24 hr shifts and has tried not to pick up any overtime, although he is on a 48 right now. We ended up getting a lockbox for the front door so when he works, we have friends stop by that can let themselves in to bring me food. There's been a couple of times when I've had to feed myself...but it's just a quick trip to the kitchen and right back to bed. Happy registering!
Awesome about the angels. My parents and sister are up there right now. They arrived yesterday for my cousins graduation from the academy. So i'm sure I will hear lots of great stories. They will be here all week for the graduation and all the activities they have for it. Wish I could have gone but I needed to save for the bean.
Hope all is well with everyone. Im glad we have monday off for the Holiday it seems like a long week already.

Mellie--
As for registering... I found a book called "The Baby Gizmo Buying Guide" (I found it at Target, but I'm sure you could find it in most big stores). It is written by a couple of moms with small children. When I bought it, I thought it may be overkill, but I have learned A TON from it-- the book is informational-- they don't discuss particular brands or models, but they discuss each subtype of each baby product along with features to avoid and those that are must-haves... and why. They also have a website (babygizmo.com) where they test a lot of products. Their recommendations, including "The Ultimate, No-Nonsense Registry List" have been particularly helpful, and with a few exceptions corresponded with what my SIL had to say (four kids with 2yr old twins). It helped me sort through what I will probably actually use... and what things aren't worth the money. As a result there are several items I originally registered for that I have now deleted from my registry. I haven't gone with all of their suggestions, but at least I know that I am making more educated choices. I do believe that book is my best purchase yet.
Happy registering!

KatieG: The pressure down low is just one of the symptoms I have had lately. I have cramping also though. However, I was put on bed rest because one of the babies is right on my cervix and the fear of my cervix shortening...so I would def. ask your OB and have them measure your cervix and talk to them about the pressure.
Wow, baby showers already! I dont think I will have mine until August? Hopefully the girls make it that long!!!
Ok this whole bed rest thing is hard. I seem to be having a hard time staying off my feet as much as I probably should. I mean I still relax and do not get up a lot but I get so bored and my legs just get to where they want to move! And, yes I agree. It does not help when the husband is at work and you have to do some things for yourself...

Hi girls! We got our level II u/s yesterday and they gave me these 3D pics and I HAD to share them I was so emotional seeing the baby's face! He yawned and did all kinds of awesome baby things! My BW came out great (1 in 750 for Downs, 1 in 6000 for other) and the doctor did not see any soft markers during the u/s which means my odds were even lower! I am so happy and finally able to relax and just enjoy being preggers! Great questions on the registry. If anyone has a list to share I would appreciate it! I am now looking for cribs and a glider chair.
I am so happy to hear everyone is doing well. Sorry for the girls on bedrest but it will be all worth it when you see your little beans! Plus you always can use it when they are teenagers to give them a guilt trip
