Suga/Katie - Thanks! :) I didn't expect a 3D pic either but the tech was awesome! What a relief!!!

WOW! You ladies have been busy.
Rin- way to go. I'm so excited for you. I will keep you in my prayers
Rio- sounds like you had a wonderful vacation. And what cute pictures! Thanks for the detailed list.
Katie- I was having lots of lower pain and pressure too. Just yesterday I was having stabbing pains and called the OB. He told me to take tylenol and if it got worse to go to the ER. He thinks its just ligament pains and said I should start to feel the baby soon. Who knows.???
Loopie- I love watching the Blue Angels. It sounded like a great day.
Corny/Suga- sorry about the bedrest. I hope that the time passes quickly for the both of you. Chin up! :)
Mellie- a shower already? How exciting. I will have to hold off on everything until my skids leave the second week in August. :(
Gecko- don't feel bad about the weight gain. I gained 16 pounds so far and if you count the extra 10 I put on while stimming, I'm looking at a cool 26 total
Sassy- thanks for the website. I totally plan on checking it out. I hope the flock is doing well.
Sorry if I missed anyone. I hope all of you are in good health and having a relaxing holiday.

DH and I enjoyed the cruise. I did a private to snorkeling trip and got to tan my belly. DH even won a free cruise playing bingo! And you know he didn't even want to play. Typical. I'm gearing up to get my skids tomorrow. One week early. post more later

Pink spotting after intercourse?

Post by deblawson »

Hi Ladies- Although i'm due on November 1st, i decided to jump in on your October postings...hope that's ok. I'm 17 weeks, 1 day and my husband and i had intercourse this morning for the first time in 2-3 weeks. (was good :D ) About 1 hr. later, i had a bowel mvmt and had a couple drops of pink blood in the toilet. Anyone else experience this? I read someplace that it was normal. then i called my obgyn and while she said it wasn't normal, it wasn't unheard of... i'll go in next week to check up. I'm not too worried as DH keeps telling me Emma is fine (that's her name) but would love reassurance.

Thanks!

Deb: Was the blood from the stool or in your vaginal area? If it was because of the stool passing then you could have hemorrhoids. (which is very common in pregnancy). If it was from the vaginal area I would hold off on sex till your next appt. and as about it. Welcome to the club though!! Most likely you will not go to Nov 1! Or, you may go past...who knows! Congrats though!!!

Hope everyone has had a great weekend!

How much weight have you gained so far? I think I gained 10 lbs so far, I had lost 10 during stimms and then gained 10 at BFP so I am counting from BFP. How much weight are you supposed to gain total? I heard after 7 mos it is a lb a week!!!

Anyone feeling their baby move? Since last week I now feel the baby kick and move everyday, especially if I lay down to relax, he has been quite the karate chop kid in there!!! Very cool!

How are the girls in bed rest? Hanging in there? I hope you are doing well :)

Weezie - good to hear from you, glad you had a good vacation with DH. Gear up for the Skids!!! I had 4 weeks without mine and it was very relaxing!!! Will be hard to adjust back! Good luck!

Deb- Suga is right, make sure it wasn't from bowel mvmt, I had watery blood from that.

Rinnie- I posted for you on the IVF board :) so happy for you!

Hi all!
deb - welcome aboard! I think if there is any worry, just give your doc a call- they are in this for the long haul right there with us! :)

weezie- sweet! you get another cruise! how's DH feeling after that scare a few weeks ago? Do the skids know about the bean on the way yet?

Tammy- what's going on with you? when is your big US? tomorrow as well?

rio- great to hear you're back and what a super image- I go in for my big US tomorrow- so we'll make sure we're having a human baby, and even find out the flavour if s/he doesn't keep those legs closed again!

soo excited for Rinnie- don't know how Lovebug is doing

bedrest gals- how's it going? I know it's frustrating, but hang in there

What plans for the summer, Everyone??

I've been busy with all sorts of things- but most of all, fun- went to my annual Memorial Weekend Campout- great time, lots of sun, food, dogs, kids and a few O'Douls! kind of weird that I've been campin with the core part of this group for over 20 years, and have watched all their kids get bigger, and now we'll have one-wacky!!!

Dh and i have a few sculpture installations coming up, and a lot of work on the house - and a ton of mail to deal with - so i'd better get to it!
beautiful short week to you all!!!!!
xx

Good Morning Everyone,

loopie- Your weekend cookout sounded fun. I wish I had any energy for outings! My DH and I went to a baseball game in the afternoon yesterday and it just wiped me out. It was fun though, just exhausting. Good luck on your u/s tomorrow. I can't wait to hear if it is a boy or a girl!

Rio- I have gained a total of 17 pounds so far....I am afraid I will be a huge cow by the time I am done! I think I was told that total weight gain should be about 25-30 pounds, less if you are overweight to begin with (like me). As far as movement, I do feel him moving around at times, but it is not very consistent yet. And DH can't feel anything from the outside yet. Great baby list! Thanks.

Deb - My doctor said that some spotting after sex is very normal. There is more blood supply to your cervix now so that if it gets bumped, it will easily bleed. Just check with your doctor at your next visit. As long as it stopped, I doubt there is anything wrong.

weezie - I am feeling lots of pressure and a dull ache in my lower abdomen too. I think it is normal stretching and round ligament pain but I will report it to my ob on Wednesday when I see her. I want to make sure my cervix is closed TIGHT!

DH and I registered at Babies R Us on Sunday. Hooray! We tried to take the advice from friends who have done this recently and just registered for the "must haves" they recommended. We also listed the big ticked items like furniture and are hoping that our family with pitch in together for those. I can't wait to get the nursery together. I am cleaning the room out now and the painter should come sometime in June or July. Then we can really get going!

Besides the lower ab pressure and ache, I am feeling really exhaused all the time and am still having problems getting a good night sleep. That combined with the end of the school year (yep, I'm sick of teenagers right now! ) is making me one cranky girl. At least we get out of school in two weeks and I can concentrate on napping. Perhaps that will help. I am fine in the morning, but as soon as my energy is depleted my mood swings very rapidly. I haven't had any moodiness until now. Weird, huh? And my hunger is tremendous all of a sudden. Maybe my boy is having a growth spurt? I am going to ask the ob about all of these aches and pains, crankiness, and exhaustion tomorrow. I have a feeling that it is all normal, but want to make sure. Ah, first time mommies! I bet they get a giggle out of us!!!

Have a great day!

Gecko: When I was put on bed rest I was almost relieved! My preschoolers were driving me INSANE!!! I can not imagine teenagers! This would have been my last week of school but doctors had other ideas (which is fine). And yes I was the same way, moody. It has gotten better now that I can take naps. I still dont sleep well at night because I can not get comfortable so during the day I sleep because I am just so exhausted from the night...on going battle.

Rio: I have gained 11 pounds thus far. Doc said that was fine so whatever....but I hear I start packing them on here quickly because they start to grow so fast and that scares me. My doctor told me 35-40 pounds to gain because of twins but I hope it is not that much! Yikes! Movement is not an all the time thing. Yesterday I did not feel them at all (which always worries me). Today nothing yet but I think there was a kick a few minutes ago? I think when they get bigger we will feel our babies more and more.

Weezie: Again, just make sure you tell your doctor and they check it out. That pressure is what put me on bed rest. THe pain I think is normal because I have it too...if I move weird or too fast I am in pain.

As for me...I am fine today thus far. Not much of an appetite which makes me not feel well so I have to shove food down my throat not to get sick...annoying. We found out my husband might not graduate till spring which is annoying because we thought it would be this fall. I am ready for him to be done with college! Not his fault because he goes part time and works for UPS so he is a busy man. Sheesh

Okay, as you know ladies I never had morning sickness. Well, today I for sure did! IT was horrible! I feel great now though which is just odd to me. Maybe my stomach just did not like the chicken? Who knows. Second tri sickness? Uncommon I am sure. Maybe it is just all the female hormones inside of me.

My husband has starting making fun of me. First, the belly and how big it is getting (he thinks it is cute?) and the nipples...well the areolas. How they are "huge like dinner plates" and the fat under my arms has gotten bad so he talks about how I have wings lol. Pregnancy is just weird at what it does to your body. Gaining weight in weird places.

Loopie- So your girl has a penis, huh? Way to go. So it looks like the boys are out numbering the girls, right? Oh, and to answer your question about my skids knowing about the bean... DH was arguing with BM about custody of SD15 and all kinds of crap, so he put her on speaker and just told her we could not take custody of any of his kids because I am pregnant. She totally disregarded what he said and kept screaming. When she finally pushed him over the top and he had enough, he hung up on her. She never called back. 100% of the time, she would have called back AT LEAST 15 times. I think the news sent her in orbit. Her only comment was that he would probably abandon his kids because of his new son. She's cracked. So now we have to contend with the "if you still love me" line. And I'd be willing to bet that SD11 will get here next week and as she pawns through my jewlery she will state that since I'm having a boy that means she will get all my things! She is forever asking me if she will get my stuff when I die!!!! The joys of being a stepmom

Katie- what's the news?

Okay, so let me ask you all a question that is sure to make you laugh.....Are any of you suffering (and I use that term lightly) with a hot whoowhoo? I hate it! If anyone is dealing with the same thing let me know what you are doing to get some relief? DH wants me to sleep with an ice pack between my legs! LOL! I actually talked to the OB about that and he said its just because of increased blood flow and hormones. Its the worst!
Next, if any of you are like me, you shop on-line. But being preggers has made that hard. It seems as though I have to try EVERYTHING on. But, if any of you are considering on-line shopping stay away from EXPECTING IN STYLE. They are the absolute worst! I ordered a 128.00 swim suit and of course it didn't fit. So I returned it for an exchange and now no one will return my calls. So they have the merchandise and my money. I have already contacted the BBB to see of they can help.
Lastly, GapBody has the BEST nightgowns!!!! they are the "super soft" gown. I had one before I got pregnant and I just ordered 2 more. They fit like a glove (and I hate tight things) but they are sooooo soft. I sometimes find myself wearing the one I have for the entire day. Gross, huh. And they do show off that adorable pregnant shape (which I'd be willing to bet I have everyone beat in that arena. In fact I think I may take a pic and post it).

Hope everyone is having a great week.
