Weezie: Love the belly pic. I'm sooo jealous. I wish my belly was as cute as yours. I just look fat (ter). LOL

Katie: We are for the most part done registering. I want to add some clothes ...but was told to wait till 2 weeks before the shower. My Aunts and SIL's are throwing my baby shower on July 26th....and have already sent the invitations out! They wanted to make sure people didnt plan their vacations that week. We'll be lucky if they remember the shower that far away. LOL We bought the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe System in French Roast. (chocolate and green) I have heard wonderful reviews from everyone on it. It was a little more pricey...however, the car seat holds a child up to 30 lbs rather than the usual 22 lbs. So we can keep Zach rear facing and safe a little longer. I have already noticed that someone has already bought things off the registry. LOL Woohoo!

Rio and Weezie: Sorry to hear about the evil ex's. I cant imagine dealing with all that. I feel for ya.

Rio: I got a t-shirt and matching onsie for DH and Zach from Babies R Us ...the shirts say..."My Dad Totally Rocks!" and "My Kid Totally Rocks" with an electric guitar on them. My DH plays guitar for a band when they feel like it. I am also gonna get him one of those picture frames, tomorrow, that says #1 Dad on it. I got him a Father Day card that is from Zachary that says...."Thanks for being my dad and for working so hard so that mommy can stay home with her feet up to take good care of me...." You get the idea. LOL

Gecko: Sounds like you have a great start on everything. It was sooo much fun putting together our nursery. Now, that it is mostly done (few things are on my registry to finish it)...we have really nothing left to do...but relax and wait for Zach's arrival.

We have a few classes set up coming up...for Newborn Care....Infant/Toddler CPR....Breastfeeding....Child Birth Classes...Daddy Bootcamp (for DH's only).

Loopie: I am doing great. How are you doing? I am feeling Zachary move alot, too.

Jomae: I went to one breast feeding class 2 months ago. LOL Yeah, I know ...kinda early....however, I am going to another one...in July...cause I really want to make sure I know what I am doing and I have heard that it is alot harder than it looks. Hopefully, the classes will help and it will go smoothe.

Suga: There is a possibility that I will have to have a c-section...but I am still going to child birth classes ...cause I am really gonna aim for vag delivery. I realize your situation is different with having twins....but who knows maybe you'll get lucky. I saw a couple of shows on Discovery Health where both babies did turn and were delivered vaginally. Good Luck.

Corny: I have been thinking about you and the girls and hope all is well. Please let us know when you can.

Hope everyone is feeling good and feeling lots of baby kicking too. :D

I agree with weezie: Feeling them kick is a wonderful feeling even if they do keep me up sometimes...reassuring! I too am nervous about breastfeeding but I will plug along for as long as I can. Hopefully I can do natural but we shall see.

Corny: Hope all is well!!

Katie: My husband hated the registry as well. I dont think they get THAT into it lol.

As for us, we have the graco stroller as well. Double. The car seats do only go up to 22 pounds but I hear now they are wanting babies rear facing until a year. They are finding it is safer. So even when we have to get a new one I think we will still keep it rear facing. I talked to a man at the car dealership today who has 13 week old twins and said his wife could only BF for 3 weeks then went to formula. I hope I can last longer...he said she got tired of pumping then feeding but I think breast milk is soooo important!

We went to look at cars today....JUST LOOk because my car is sooo old and not safe and husband had a truck. Well, we walked out with a car  It is a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Only had 13000 miles on it...leather seats, all the bangs and whistles. The person who had it before us never used it but there were a few scratches from their dog which should be able to be buffed out when they detail it tomorrow. But we only had to finance $10000 because of our trade in cars (we gave em both cars). So we have to have a car payment which neither one of us has ever had. *sigh* But we now have room for twins and our 55 pound dog when we travel. So it will be interesting with one car until my husband graduates. I get to work around his schedule. I know, gas mileage is not that great but there are literally not any cars out there for our size of family that get good mileage. Everything that did have good mileage had no trunk or back seat room. Hybrids are WAY too expensive and there is no way we could afford a new car. So hopefully we love the car and it loves us! Ok, I am done rambling.

wow!
congrats on the car, Sug- leather seats...sweet!- you'll get used to the 1 car thing dh and i did it for about 8 years- but getting all the double stuff is wild- you'll also need that extra room for the double stroller!

before I started grad school, dh and i looked at cars for a while as i'd be driving I95, and with a great dane, and knowing we were trying for a baby, we looked at 3 different things- the Mazda 5- it's like a mini-minivan without the minivan stigma, the honda fit just a bit too small-but great mileage (like 39highway!) and as my best friend works for Toyota/Lexus /Scion HQ out in LA, she suggested the 2008 model Scion XB that had just come out- we got it about a year ago now -and we love it!!!!!!!!!!! soo roomy, pretty good mileage 29mpg, suits us, etc- though if we'd had twins, i recon it would have been tight! we got a roof rack for camping and stuff as well- and that's pretty much it as for what we've bought for the bean -a way to transport him:lol:
Tammy Gecko, Katie - done registering!!!!??
   :D :D :D holy cow
I can't even decide on what stroller to register for!!!!!!!!!
I have looked but not registered yet, and only ended up purchasing a pretty hexagonal wood play pen as it was on clearance, and wouldn't be there by the time i got around to registering - haven't done a thing with his room- it's still our guest room until he's here
guess i need to get on that!

take care all of you beautiful mommies, be safe with those Cali fires - I have much to do today

Hi Everyone!

Anyone heard from Corny or Mia?

We are going to register tomorrow w/my best friend and my Mom for guidance. So far, the crib I like best is this one:

http://www.target.com/Butterfly-Living- ... B000W8UZH8

I like that it has 3 solid sides and is simple. I'll keep looking a little longer, though. It's fun! BTW, has anyone seen any other cribs w/the slats only in the front and the other 3 sides solid? I can't seem to find any others.

Congrats on the new car Suga! We live in downtown Chicago and gave up both of our cars about 8 years ago. We walk everywhere and take public transportation and we love that lifestyle. But, w/the baby on the way we finally broke down and admitted that we had to join the car-owning part of society :D We decided to spend the extra money and get a Prius. We like that it's a hybrid and gets such good gas mileage so are hoping that the money we save offsets the sticker price. But, can you believe that they don't have any! We had to order one and it'll take 6-8 months. I can gestate a baby faster than Toyota can build a Prius these days! So, the baby will be here before the car but we'll just have to swing it.

I'm starting to put on weight. My tummy is growing, too, but like Tammy said I just kind of feel like I look fat. Will be nice when I have a cute little tummy like Weezie. At the moment it looks more like a beer belly

I hve an embarrassing question  Have any of you had a really watery discharge? Mine has increased and it is really watery, kinda clear, slightly milky. It soaked my undies. I am not having cramps or pains or anything like that. Sorry for the TMI but I am a little nervous, is this normal? I don't want to freak out thinking it is the amnio fluid leaking....

Rio: I have been having that for a couple of weeks now. My undies are soaked. I hear it is normal as long as it does not smell and there is no color. I have to wear a little pany liner as not to soak through lol.

I'm back everyone! Thank you all so much for your good wishes, and Rinnie, thanks for the PM and offer of a visit. I am home, but been too uncomfortable to get on the laptop to post. Anyhow, the surgery went ok...it took twice as long as expected and was much more complicated than the doc anticipated, but all that matters is that 24 hours after, the babies were still hanging in there. Madison's collapsed bladder was even visible again, which the doc just couldn't believe! Now we have to just hope that they can adjust to their new environments and blood supplies. They also had to drain all of the amniotic fluid and replace it, so I now have tiny holes in each of the sacs...which of course increases the risk of preterm labor. My next u/s is Tuesday to see if they are doing ok. In the meantime, it's strict bedrest for me with only bathroom privledges and a 3 minute shower every other day. I guess I better get used to it because it sounds like it will be for the duration. It looks like there's been lots of posts...so now I'll go back and catch up!

xoxo

Well I went to the doctor since it kinda came all at once and spooked me, I called them and they said come on over we should check it out. The doc said it is normal, he said I probably had a whole night's worth of it and it all came at once, everything is closed up and good! What a relief!!! :D I did not want to spend the weekend worrying!

Corny - wooo-hoo! I am so glad the surgery went well and the girls are doing well! That is just great news. Awesome about her quick bladder recovery! Sorry about the bed rest, but it will be all so worth it when your little princesses come! Here is a happy dance we are doing for you!
Image
Loopie- LOVE the ticker! Couldn't be more appropriate!!!!! No answer from Mia, she has me worried. We have the same car issues! Babies and big dogs!!!
Suga- glad I am not the only one! :D Congrats on the new car! Sounds like you got a really great deal.
Rinnie - how are you doing? Very nice of you to offer to see Corny!
Mellie- have fun registering!!! Cute crib!
Katie - I am with you, so far behind on nursery! WE picked some nice mellow green colors that would go with boy or girl, some are hand me downs from a friend who has a 1 year old and some others will probably follow the fisher-price rainforest theme :) like below:
Image
this way it would work if we have a girl next.
Tammy - what a cute idea for father's day!!! So far I only got DH a card from little bean, 2 cards from the dogs and one from me! Let us know if you get good tips on your classes! I can't believe you are already all done with the nursery! wow
gecko - how is DH doing battling the fires?

Corny: Good to hear from you! Your babies are fighters and I am feeling optimistic too, that they are gonna be fine! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Loopie: Love the ticker!

Rio: What a scare ....glad everything is a-ok. The rainforest bouncer has been a big hit with the girls who just had babies on another forum that I am on. He will love it!

Suga: Congrats on the new car! Sounds like a great jeep and a good deal too.

Rinnie: How are you doing? You are sooo sweet to offer to go see Corny.

Mellie: Prius is a wonderful car. I would like to get one. Have fun registering. Love the crib.

Katie: Yeah, I tend to be over-organized and like to get everything done earlier...no matter what it is. LOL Now, I can kick back and relax all summer.

I am gonna go post some pics on our photobucket account, now.
