The fragments are rejected bits of chromosomes that the egg chucks out - it is normal/okay for an egg to have some after fertilization, but the more fragments there are the more chance there might be something wrong with it, so less chance for implantation - I think it is up to 5% fragments is great, and maybe up to ?30% fragments is okay too, not quite sure at what point the cut off is, but I'm sure they wouldn't have put them back if they had too many fragments...
I didn't have fragmented eggs, but got a BFN anyway... so....
