Fragmented Embryos??

Post by MyBoyParker »

I had 3 embryos put in last Wednesday, and the doctor showed me that one was very healthy, and looked great. (looked just like Parker, when he was an embryo! LOL) But the other 2 are fragmented, and they look different. I was just curious what that means exactly, and if any of you had BFPs from fragmented embryos??

Just curious.

Hi MyBoyParker (and how very cute is your boy Parker!! He's adorable in that pic!)
The fragments are rejected bits of chromosomes that the egg chucks out - it is normal/okay for an egg to have some after fertilization, but the more fragments there are the more chance there might be something wrong with it, so less chance for implantation - I think it is up to 5% fragments is great, and maybe up to ?30% fragments is okay too, not quite sure at what point the cut off is, but I'm sure they wouldn't have put them back if they had too many fragments...
I didn't have fragmented eggs, but got a BFN anyway... so....

Good luck and sticky vibes to you in your 2WW!! :D
