Tammy- great pix-wow you're all set with the room- what is left for folks to get you at the shower :o  and an excellent belly- i'll get some pix up soon, promise

kildean, krista- you doing ok? haven't seen you in a while

mia is still missing- pretty worried at this point -

as for me- a rough night- i started having severe abdomenal pain yesterday afternoon while at niece's 2nd bday party- a few hours later, had dh drive me to the hosp- wow- no idea what was going on and took me to L&D did a bunch of bloodwork, US etc tests, beanie was just fine, and finally pain subsided enough that they let me leave this morning -I have had my fair share of pain, but this was really terrible and i think combined with being sort of scared it may have been something wrong with the pregnancy, i went to the ER - they are pretty it was a digestive/GI infection, food poisoning and gas/heartburn
so thankfully not a big deal- they were very thorough as they were concerned it may have been premature labor, gal bladder or appendix - whew- crisis averted- but one really long night for Dh and I. Now relaxing in bed and hoping not to be back at L&D for about 18 more weeks

hope the rest of you wonder-moms are doing great and wishing all the DHs and DPs a very happy Father's Day

Corney- I;m glad to read you are okay. I will continue to keep you and the little ones in my prayers.
Rio/Loopie- what a scare! Glad that everything is okay
Tammy- i love all the pics! And Zachary's room is great!!!
Suga- congrats on the car!!
Katie- where's the belly shot???

My weekend was a nightmare! We took SS to dallas so he could goto Six Flags and he was horrible the entire time! Saying he hated me and his father. He wished his dad and mom were back together. Fighting with my nephew. And to top it off we drove back through Houston to pick up SD and when the ex saw SS, she told us he had lice AGAIN!!!!!! This child has had lice 6 times in one year and when we got him last month we treated him, just in case. But we never did the re-treat 7 days later so now the household is in a panic! DH and I are shaving his head tonight, and treating him again (and this time we will retreat in 7 days). So my day will be spent washing all the bedding and clothes in clorox. I'm freaking out. there is NO way I can get that! Yikes. And now I'm paranoid and I keep scratching my head! I'm totally having myself checked today!
On a happier note, I finally felt Gavin kicking. The flutters started this weekend and then yesterday he went bananas. Kicking like crazy. It was the greatest Father's Day gift my Dh got (and it was from his Good son, not any of the crazy skids).

Hope all of you ladies have a super Monday!

Well ladies,

I've been put on the evil bedrest until the end of the pregnancy. Last Thursday I went to the maternal fetal doctor to look at Baby A heart which is fine. Well when she went to check my cervix it measured 1.6 and I showed funneling. I was immediately admmitted to the hospital to the hospital to be monitored for contractions. I had a few little ones. By the morning, I was in the OR getting an emergency cerclage. This has been so scary for me. I was just at my OB office a week before this for an US and my cervix was 4.2. The twins are doing well and are very active. I just pray that I make it to at least 36 weeks.

Corny - I am so happy that your surgery went well and that you and the babies are doing better. Keep us posted on your recovery. How was the film crew?

Rio and Loopie - I am sorry you both had scares. I am glad that everything worked out ok.

weezie - Your skids sound like real pieces of work! Do they not respect your DH at all? It is a real shame that the evil ex is causing all this unrest. I hope the skids learn to adjust to their situations without growing up to be bitter and hateful. I hope you and DH are enjoying your pregnancy despite all the chaos.

kildean - How scary for you! Preterm labor is my fear as well. I am glad that they found the cervix shortening early enough to do a cerclage. I have read that they work wonders! Are you feeling ok after the proceedure? I hope you have lots of folks around to help you out with the bedrest. What a drag..... Time to take up knitting!!! Hang in there and let us know how you are doing.

I am doing well. I was put on yet another "high risk" program though my doctor. This one is for pre term labor. Since I was exposed to DES while my mother was pregnant with me I have a higher than average risk of incompetent cervix so they are monitoring me more closely. I have to spend an hour in the morning and again at night holding my belly and counting any contractions. I have also been put on activity restriction. I can't be on my feet for longer than 20-30 minutes without a 30 minute break with my feet up. They suggest I cook quick meals or get take out. I am not supposed to do major grocery shopping, or more that two loads of laundry a day, and absolutely NO housework. I have a daily journal that I have to fill out regarding symptoms and such and they will call me weekly to check on me. So far I have been fine. The strange thing is that my doctor told me to go back to the gym and walk on the treadmill for 30-40 minutes a day at my last appointment, and then I get this activity restriction at the preterm labor class. I will have to ask my doctor to clarify exactly how much I should be doing when I see her next week. I don't want to push it and end up on full bed rest if I can avoid it at all.

I am waiting for my painters to show up today to start working on the nursery. Hooray! I will feel much better when his room is done. Tammy, I am so jealous that you have it all together already!!! It looks lovely!

Hope everyone is having a happy Monday!

Weezie - sorry you had the Skids misbehaving, I swear sometimes it is so hard to be a Smom and keep your mouth shut when you see things like that! Kids can be really hurtful. Hang in there!
Gecko - yickes! So sorry that you are so limited in your day to day life, but it is better safe than sorry, we all worked so hard to get here. I am glad that they are taking such great care of you. Another cold yucky summer day in the peninsula! At least it doesn't make me feel like being outside!
Kildean - oh sweetie - bedrest! My goodness, I am glad that they caught everything early enough and took care of it. I hope you have enough distractions, sign up for netflix or blockbuster! Let us know how you are doing!
Loopie- you doing ok now? I am very worried about Mia at this point, no reply yet?
Katie- great deals! I can't wait to get the baby room going!

I spent Saturday cleaning and then on Sunday I got so dizzy everytime I got up that I spent the day sitting down or laying down, anyone getting really dizzy?

Hope everyone had a great weekend!!!

Kildean: GOSH! That is my worst nightmare! A month ago I was a 4 cervix then the past time I got measured I was a 3...it just keeps going down!! So now they have to measure it all the dang time (which is fine) but I am nervous about the same thing that happened to you! We will make it to 36 weeks! Have "fun" on bed rest....I know it is a pain. But they caught it which is wonderful!!

Weezie: I could not have your life...too crazy! lol. Kids are can be mean, as can adults. So sorry.

As for me, I had a mole removed a week ago on my stomach and it came back as atypical. So now I have to go get the whole area surgically removed which involves stitches (never had those before!) So I have to ask the OB on Thursday if this is okay to do before the babies are born...I lose my insurance Sept 30 so I have to get it done before then! Hopefully it is an ok procedure to get done while preggers so I dont have to rush after a csection to go and get it done with twins in my arms haha.

Yes! haha. Since I am a teacher I have it through the summer but I am not returning in the fall. It is okay though, we are going to have to go on medicade until my husband goes full time with his job once he is out of school. So, no fret really. The babies will be covered as will I with baby stuff. We just have to pray we do not get seriously ill (the husband or I).

Suga- oh ok, I am glad you are covered! :D

How are you girls doing? the board has been kinda slow...

Things with little bean are great. My other baby, my 13 1/2 yo dog is not doing too well. His back legs are really weak and poor guy needs help up and down stairs and it is hard for me to help him. He is starting to poop in the house cause he can't get out fast enough and there is no where level for him to potty. :( He has been my baby since he was 6 weeks and it is breaking my heart. He seems so happy but so weak. I had a jerk of an ex husband and he would always protect me or lick my face when I cried. He is my little (100 lbs) guardian angel... anyway I pray that somehow he gets some strength back...

Rio: Sorry to hear about your pup. I know how it is. We have 2 babies and I dont know what I will do when they get older. When my Bichon died 6 years ago I lost it...and that was "my moms dog" Still hard to look at pictures of her. Now that the husband and I have our own it is hard to think. They will have to medicate me if something were to happen. So sorry hun!!

One of the girls has found her way up under my ribs and it hurts like heck. I sometimes just have to push on her till she moves and I am doubled over in pain. Sheesh!

Thanks Suga - it has been tough, I don't know what to do either if he is not here anymore :( Probably send me to the Loony bin!

Loopie- I saw that Mia posted in May in the General forum and things still seemed fine as she spoke about home birthing there, I think she was traveling to see DH, I also PMed her.

Anyone else having this "problem?" My husband just does not seem excited and I feel like I am just annoying him? He says that is not the case but his actions state otherwise to me. I understand he is stressed with school and work but today when I asked if he wanted to feel her kicking he said "no, I wont be able to feel it anyways." and I said, well I can feel it on the outside now so, yes you can. "no" So, I just wanted to start to cry and still want to. I just feel like keeping to myself now and not expressing this to him. I talked to him about it last night and he just says that it is in my mind....well who knows but still. It is still upsetting. I mean I know I have lots of hormones running through me right now but still. I feel like he just does not want to be around me. Ugh.

Other than that, I have my check up tomorrow. I am going to ask about all the braxton hicks I have been having (hope that is what they are) and if I can go get the mole area removed that came back atypical which will require the stitches (it is on my belly). So I will update more tomorrow.

hi mommas- hope everyone is feeling good-

corny, i hope you are taking it easy and recovering from surgery- did Discovery actually end up filming the procedure? any word on what you're to do now?
and to all the bedrest gals, i hope your Dhs are taking care of you and feeding you way too many sweets!

jomae- how's it going downunder?

rio- how's your pup- i know i'd be gutted if anything happened to our 4legged baby- hope she'll be ok. no response from my PM to mia- that was over 10 days ago now- so sad

sug- dh's are going through their own weirdness- i am sure he is over the moon about the girls and you, but may be a bit freaked out that time is passing so quickly- and they'll be here soon! don't focus on what he's not doing right now (he'll want to feel them kick for sure) focus on what he is doing- working hard, studying- etc trying to get stuff done so that when they arrive, he'll be both physically and mentally as ready as he can be. sometimes dh and i go all day without thinking about the bean (verbally, that is..) and that's ok with me- i mean soon it won't be just us ( it has been a 2person team for 14 years) so we're enjoying it all and taking little peskiness in stride.

I've been crazy busy- getting ready to put down the floor! yippee- I bought reclaimed broad plank oak from a cool architectural salvage place that we'll begin installing in the next week- it needs work, but should be beautiful, and the fact that we didn't chop down any trees to get it is a bonus!!! - even if it's kind of funky- it will still be about a million times better than the burnt subfloor we've had weeeeee!
bean's been kicking- tummy's been upset (though not nearly as bad as last weekend)

I'm starting to deal with the registry etc- tough, though to find 1 place that has everything we like and need.grrrr!

ok- so is anyone else planning on using cloth diapers? I had no idea that there are sooo many different varieties from which to choose- zowie! thank goodness for the web....

alright- best to all any big hugs going out to all of you!
