We had a great initial meeting with the pediatrician, and I see no reason to 'interview' any others. He is so kind and a very good listener. He did not charge for the meeting, and even gave us his private cell number which he said is open 24/7. He also recommended a good 'mohel' (one who performs circumcision), said that's who he'd use if he had a son now. He answered all of my questions and didn't make me feel stupid. After meeting with him, we went to a big new mall which just opened right near where we're moving. It was good for me to get out a little (to someplace that's NOT a high risk clinic).
So I've been thinking about the whole L/D. What would be so bad to let nature take its course, and let him come when he's gonna come? Okay, it's more to do with convenience. I'm just thinking if we could move and I 'hold out' for about a week in the new place before baby arrives, that would give me so much time to set up! Of course, it's pretty much out of my control if he comes early (naturally). But if he comes a bit later, is it sooo bad for me to try to deliver a 9 pounder? It's definitely been done before. We shall seeee.
Here's a list of things I'm taking to hospital: (If you see anything I left off that is vital, pleeease feel free to 'add it on').
All pertinent medical info documentation (GD stuff, etc.), birthing plan, soft toilet paper, robe, comfy clothing, outfit for baby to go home in, car seat, nursing pads, disposable undies, makeup/perfume, deodorant, underwear, tissues, outfit for me to go home in, slippers, reading material, big towel, socks, bottled water and straws, toothbrush/toothpaste, ?????
Rebecca,
Hope all is well with your amniotic fluid situation. How are you feeling? When's your next appointment? I have appointments on Wed. with the high risk doc, and on Thurs. with my regular ob. I really want to know what my regular ob has to say about delivery options. I trust him the most and respect his opinion. What are you thinking about all this? I was laughing reading about your 'dishes in the sink, bag not packed, etc.' I packed most of my bag, and whatever I still need for now I put in a plastic bag which can be added at the last minute. However I also need to think of the BIGGER packing up of my apartment. I better put all my jewelry in a safe place, start packing it in little boxes, and taking it with me in case I am not here on moving day. There's so much to consider, I hope my stuff doesn't go lost. Also, I'm sure I left important stuff off my hospital list, hence the above list, and my request to add on

Tina,
I am glad you enjoyed your baby class, it sounds like they reviewed a lot of important info. I am so sorry to hear about your mom getting sick in the restaurant. I will pray for her to get stronger. I can't imagine what you go through with that. You're a strong girl, and I think it's wonderful how you and dh take care of her the way you do, 9 months pregnant no less! I know what you mean about making lists of the 'crap' that still needs to get done. I feel like I'm making lists all day, but the challenge is tying up all the loose ends before we go to the hospital. At some point, I just gotta let it go, and whatever happens, happens.
Well, I will try to doze off now (it's about 2.30am here now). Night night!
Shari
