Hi ladies - sorry to barge in, I was determined not to post on this thread until after next Wednesday - my first ultrasound,
but I had to say
Congrats to Adsgirl!!!! That is awesome! I am so happy that you got to hear the heartbeat and all is just as it should be. Great news! What happens next for you?

Dakota - I am so glad for you that Baby A is moving around and all looks good with him. I hope the bleeding and cramping go away soon. Your baby descriptions are very cute!

Well, I'm back off to the other thread - can't bear the thought of jinxing myself before the ultrasound

Hope to be posting here next week! You all seem like a very nice bunch of ladies, and it would be nice to keep up with those that I cycled with.
Take care all :)

Sorry I have been MIA ladies. LOTS of tiredness kept me away, and am slightly now seeming to a) either need to sleep less during the day, or b) stay awake most of the day before just shutting my eyes, giving myself a mini-nap!

Welcome to all the newbies! I cycled with you AdsGirl on May/June board, and am glad to see you made it! Yay on your u/s results!

Dakota-I am so sorry for your news, however everyone i s right suggesting to stay strong for little A. I love that you described him/her with what seemed the rest of its tail! You know you will have a lovely baby, and possibly the loss is keeping this one strong and healthy!

Me, I was able to stop the PIO shots as they ran out right at 10 wks, and no one has offered, or seems interested in testing my prog level(?) Had the visit with my regular OB as I last posted and all went fine, now we are on to our almost 12 wk full scan and neucal fold testing for downs next Weds (I am offiically 12 wks next Thurs but made this appt cuz I couldn't wait!) I feel some cramping just for a few minutes on and off every once in a while (mild) and I know its a good sign that little one is stretching its living space! I'm all for it! My boobs have stayed about the same (bigger), and am now needing new stretchy pants!

DH and I have cycled through pet names of blueberry, peanut, kumquat, and now fig. We're simple that way when the book tells us the approximate size of the fetus as we progress :D

I have to agree with the ladies who do a lot of cussing...I'll have a lot to watch out for as soon as the little one has any inkling of copying what I say!

Please stay happy and healthy all. Get the rest when you need it (especially from NOSY bosses at work!), it will all change sooner that we know it! Have a great weekend!
Our precious Liam was born 2/4/09!

Children - Thanks for the words of wisdom. I feel like I am always worried about something. I do feel better knowing that I pushed for the full blood panel and when one of the tests came back positive and the doctor kept me on the blood thinner I felt vindicated b/c I pushed for it and both drs did think I needed it.

Dakota - sorry about your loss. I started out with twins and around week 5 I lost one. Well around week 5 I started bleeding, went into dr and heard two heartbeats and then only one heartbeat by week 6 . . .but now my little one is growing strong with a strong heartbeat and will hopefully be out and about in about 6 months.

It is nice to be on a board where everyone has been through the same thing. I was going to join a regular pregnancy board but that is not the kind of support group I am looking for. I am happy to be with other women who have been through the pain and desparation to get to this point and now enjoy (albeit freaked out 24/7) the experience of accomplishing pregnancy!

Is there somewhere to look for a code list. I don't know what a lot of the abbreviations mean. Looks like there is one for father (or partner), everyone seems to use RE for the IVF dr (which I think means Reproductive Endocrinologist), but I am in the dark (maybe b/c this is my first board and having trouble understanding the lingo.[/code]

Legal- If you go to the Generl message board there is a "sticky" with alot of what you are looking for. DH means dear husband and DP means dear partner.
I have a question for you if you dont mind. How long after the loss of one of your twins did you continue to bleed? I ask because I didnt bleed before I lost my twin, I bleed right when it happend and I still seem to bleed on and off and the RE does not know why and he is concerned for the other one, so every time I bleed I freak out.

Hope all is well with everyone and you have nice plans for the weekend. I am on the couch all weekend. I have a TON on books to read. Last night was the first night in a long time (since I start progesterone) that I slept a good bit. I feel asleep on the couch at 8pm, then DH called me at 9:15 to day goodnight, so I hit the bed at 9:30 and slept straight till 2:30!!! It was great!!!
I've not had any bleeding spells since yesterday, but I have alot of pink spotting, enough to fill a liner and its always there when I whipe. I think I may hit the RE's office in the morning for another scan just to be safe, then go again on Wed. Maybe all of this rest I will stop bleeding?

Well, the couch is calling my name!!!

Dakota - Glad to hear you're getting some rest and trying to take it easy.

Jude - welcome! I was leery about posting here too early, as well...but then I figured F*** it! I know many of these ladies from the May/June cycle board, and I was just DYING to transfer over to this forum! You must be wild with anticipation for your next appointment...Wednesday, right? Can't wait to hear your report!

ftg - glad to know things are still going well for you! I am 100% with you on the fatigue. I am so tired at the end of the day that I barely have the energy to eat dinner (much less make it!!). I like your pet names...we were calling them frick and frack until yesterday when we confirmed there is only one...now my DH is calling it Elvis...at delivery, he wants to say "Elvis has left the building." He is such a clown!!

Hope everyone else is doing well...off to camp for the weekend. PIO in a tent...FUN!

Morning ladies, it's nice to be back online! This week has been absolutely crazy at work and by the time I get home, all I want to do is sleep. I'm actually feeling a little better today, not so nauseous. I've tried to incorporate some protein, so wonder if that's helping? Always makes me worry to have a symptom slow down, but I was begging for the all day m/s to go away :) We have our 2nd u/s Monday morning, so we've both been freaking out with the wait. I hope all is well with our little bean.

AdsGirl - I like the name Elvis, that's great! Congrats on finally getting your u/s and hearing the HB, it was the most magical (yet incredibly tear jerking) moment.

Dakota - I'm so happy to hear Baby A is doing great, that is excellent news. When is DH coming home, I'm sure you could use him around about now. I've been on suppositories the entire time and yes, they do irritate the hooha a bit. I really don't notice it at all until DH and I have sex, which unlucky for him hasn't been since last w/e. I've been so incredibly sick this week with m/s that the last thing I think about is that. I'm going to have to make up for it this w/e, poor guy is just about to die :)

legalndn - Welcome to the group, it's an awesome group of women! I'd love to give you lots of suggestions on keeping positive and not worrying, but I only have one of those down :) I have days where I'm not worrying at all, but when you get sad news from others or you just feel different, you start to panic a bit. Good luck!

Rubylee - What kinds of protein have you been eating? The thought of meat is still disgusting, but I'm trying to have a little mixed in with meals and also eating cheese. How's the constipation, you doing ok?

ftg - I hear ya on the tiredness, it seems almost comical how tired I get. DH is pretty much on his own these days, since all I seem to do is have snacks and sleep :) I even have to eat a little something around 4AM, which makes him laugh every time. Glad to hear you're no longer having to do PIO shots and you're almost at 12 weeks, that is great!

Jude - Can't wait to hear about your u/s next week and then you officially join our group :)

Happy weekend girls!

Dakota - So glad to hear you sounding better and taking some needed down time. I sure hope that bleeding stops for you soon, I can only imaging how nerve wracking that must be.

Legal - Welcome and congrats! I agree with wanting to be on a board with other ivfers. I think we, rightly so, worry a lot and are much more understanding with each other because of all we have been through. Also, I found a great site with a very helpful glossary when I was cycling, http://www.fertilityfriends.co.uk/compo ... temid,202/

angram - Yay! glad you're getting a little break from the nausea. Hope it sticks. I do have a hard time choking down meat most times. If there is a moment I feel ok I try to get it in quick, like a chicken sandwich or something. I have also been doing chicken salad, and tuna salad (only 1X a week). And turkey dogs have been ok for some reason, just be sure to over heat them. And turkey bacon BLT's have been ok, though that is not as much protein. The constipation is slightly better, thanks for asking

ftg - I just hit another level of tired. I was doing pretty good but the last couple of days feels like the first couple of weeks. By the time I get home I am so grumpy and end up eating cereal or something because I can't face preparing something. Oh well, I am sure it won't compare to the first couple months of no sleep with our little babes. All worth it!

We have our last RE U/S on monday afternoon. I will be sure to give you guys the update. I bet they are going to be so huge! Can't wait. Angram is monday too! I will be thinking of you.

Jude- I am looking forward to your u/s on Wed and for you to join the group full time, not just popping in to read

Ftg- WOW, 12 weeks already, man you and Rubylee, seems just like yesterday when you got your + :P I bet you are thilled!!

Adsgril- Hope your relaxing and enjoying your camping trip!

Angram- Your u/s on Monday will be Fabulous!!!

Rubylee- Wow, lots of u/s on Monday. I am sure you cant wait to see how big your little ones have gotten. 12 weeks, I am sure they are huge by now with so many features you'll be able to see via u/s.

Well, I am back to the clinic tomorrow at 9:30 in the morning. I called them this morning to go in but by the time someone had called back I would not have made it there before they closed. This morning I did my suppies and blood just started gushing, it even got on the floor. SO, by the time they called me back it had slowed down drastically so I just made an appointment for the morning. I've been consistantly bleeding all day, but its not heavy anymore. I am due for my suppies now and am scared to death to do it. I am going to see a different Dr tomorrow and if all is well I am going to ask to finish out the remainder on PIO's.
I am praying that all is well tomorrow and the bleeding is just from the baby B that was lost. DH decided to drive all night long so he can be here in the morning for the u/s.

Please pray for us!!

Hope everyone enjoys their evening.

Thanks Dakota, Ads and Angram. - It's hard not replying now!! I even went to go to the bookstore to buy an expecting book, but couldn't bring myself to before the U/S, and so went to the library instead - but it was already closed for the evening.... drat! Ads I saw the book 'Green Baby' and had a quick flick through - interesting reading. I'm glad Ikea's toys are good - I love Ikea!

Hugs Dakota, I hope your DH is safe tonight, and makes it in time for your U/S tomorrow. Praying for you both x

Jude - I was the same way about joining the pregnant club, so I totally understand. Heck, I won't even buy any more books or search for baby stuff/maternity stretchy pants until after our 2nd u/s on Monday. I think I'm going to be a freak the entire 9 months and DH has already confirmed that for himself :) Welcome to the club, you're preggo and we're excited to have you join us.

Dakota - I'm so sorry you're having to go through all of this, I've been worried about you and pray that the bleeding goes away very soon. Did this start happening when they moved you to the suppositories? I'm also glad to hear DH is on his way home to you, I don't know how you've done it alone. I also hope your DH has a safe journey home tonight and is by your side tomorrow morning.

Rubylee - Since lunch is my best meal of the day, that's when I sneak in meat as well. I also had a chicken salad sandwich last week for lunch and it was great! I have my u/s Monday morning, so I'll be thinking about you Monday afternoon for yours!!

Well I don't totally understand why I'm not completely nauseous all day, but guess I'll just be thankful. I don't feel great, but definitely better than I have been. Of course it totally worries me, but I'm trying my best to just be happy and enjoy every single day of my pregnancy. Is anyone else starting to get a little pooch, you can for sure see mine in my sundresses and my darn shorts no longer fit. It's probably all the freakin' carbs I've been shoving down my gullet these days, I'm hungry 24/7 :) Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Dakota: at 5 weeks I actually went to the bathroom and felt pressure like I was starting my period. Then I wiped and it looked just like I had started my period (and for a brief second I forgot I was pregnant and had that feeling of relieved pressure that I get when starting my period . . .then I remember. . . bleeding bad!) So I wiped all I could (and probably dug around more than I should) - then called my husband at worked - lied on the couch and began crying.

The next morning I went into the Dr and had an U/S - there were 2 sacs and 2 heartbeats (one HB was under 100 and one was over). I pretty much stopped bleeding (well I never had the big gush again like the first wipe). . . the after bleed was more of dark red with little clumpies (probably from the progesterone suppositories - or maybe a little of my lining) - i am trying to remember but I think I had a little pink with a few clumpies off and on for about a week after.

When my blood came back from that day my progesterone was at 17 (and my Dr. likes it to be over 30) - I don't know if that was the problem. But the next week there were still 2 sacs and only one HB.

I am still bitter - I felt like the Dr. should have checked my progesterone (and everyone's progesterone) between Transfer and the 6 week U/S (especially since our bodies don't really make it on their own until the placenta kicks it in).

I hope you don't worry too much and that you get in first thing to the Dr. Monday morning. I wish I had a magical something that could help you relax for just a few hours so you could get some good sleep. But, hopefully the Dr. will make you feel better tomorrow.

Plus, you were further along that I was so it makes sense that you would bleed a little heavier and a little longer when losing one. But, the other one will take over and be stronger than ever - I am sure of it.

Everyone else- I am trying to learn everyone's name - but I may be slow at it- thanks for the warm welcome and the tips to try to learn some of the abbreviations!

Hi Dakota
I am so sorry to hear about your Baby B. i have everything crossed that all will be really well at your US tomorrow.

I just got back from two weeks in Spain which would have been paradise if I wasnt sick literally every time I eat something.

I don't have another scan scheduled until 06 Aug when i will be 11 weeks. I think I might schedule a US at another clinic on Tuesday. I am now paranoid that maybe the two arent growing.....I know we all just go from one fear / worry to another!!!!

Hi all, I'm back and all is well with the little one. He is measuring a day ahead still. She took two measurements and one says 9w1d and the other 9w2d and I am 9w exactly today. his bpm was 181, it still scares me that his heartbeat is so fast. He was sound asleep until she turned the doppler on so I could hear the HB and the little guy jumped, it scared the srap out of him, then he got pissed off and started flailing his arms and legs. As soon as she turned the doppler off he went right back to sleep. It was cute.
I have a small "bleed spot", from my understanding it is bascially a tear in the unterin. it is right between the baby and sac B, so they dont know if it is coming from the baby stretching the uterus or the sac contents trying to detatch itself. I am still bleeding slightly on and off. I have another apt on Wed. I do feel much more encouraged this morning.

Angram- I started getting a pooch right before 7 weeks and by 8 weeks I couldnt even zip up my "big" pants half way, but once I lost baby B some of the swelling went down and now I can wear my "big" pants, but my normal clothes I have to use the rubber band trick.

Legal- Thank you for posting what happend to you. I am really sorry it happend. Its tough to go through, but I am glad you still have a great healthy baby in there. I think I would be upset as well if they didnt check your progesterone until 6 weeks. They should have done it at 5 weeks when you went in for bleeding. I've had mine checked 4 times now, they drew the first one with the first beta.

Cwrj- Welcome back!!! I am so sorry you were sick on your trip, I bet that was a bummer!!! I am sure both babies are doing well and are line dancing in there  if it will make you feel better, go get an scan this week. you'll see the little arms and legs moving all around, its great at this stage.

Jude- I so know what you mean. I put a bunch of books on hold at the library and didnt go get them until a certain point. wed will be here before you know it and its going to be great!!! That HB jsut melts your heart to pieces!!!

Rubylee- How you feeling this weekend? Getting better?

Adsgirl- Hope your having a blast camping!!! We used to go ALL the time but havent been since we saw a copperhead snake with a head the size of TX!!!! Plus my dog kept eating lizzards

I am off to take a short nap before I venture to the grocery store.

Dakota-- that Heartrate is completely normal. It is suppose to increase until your 2nd trimester and then start to slow down! Mine was 184! They said it was perfect and in the next couple weeks it will start to slow down. Our first was 151 then 184. You have nothing to worry about. A slow hb is much worse than a fast!

Dakota - Great news on the little peanut, that's an excellent HB!! I'm sorry to hear about the bleed spot and hope it heals quickly. I bought a couple new shirts today, hoping I can keep my pants unbuttoned, but have my shirt cover it up. I'll probably go out sometime this week and see if I can find a belly band, that way when I can no longer zip my britches I can still wear them :)

cwrj00 - 2 weeks in Spain sounds fabulous, but totally sucks you weren't feeling well. I'm having that same issue right now, but luckily in the comfort of my own home.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, unfortunately tomorrow is Monday and a work day. Good news though is that we have our 2nd u/s tomorrow morning, so I'm so excited about that and cannot wait!! Is anyone else just absolutely starving all of the time? I'm eating every 2 hours, but I could eat a snack every 5 minutes. I'm trying to snack on fruit and yogurt, but that just doesn't seem to cut it. I unfortunately purchased a bag of white cheddar popcorn while waiting in the grocery line, so of course I had to break it open before leaving the parking lot :) DH opens the car door to help me get everything out and just starts laughing, thank goodness he thinks I'm sexy no matter what! :)
