Good morning ladies! :D

Yaaaaaay, a new member! Hi Ericka!!!! WELCOME! :D

Ericka,
Congratulations on getting those two frosties back home!!! Stick to your mommy, little embies!!!! :D During the 2ww, I have many ways to entertain myself... some are healthy, some aren't! :D

Healthy ways: check your hobbies! Reading is good, watching TV helps, cooking, going out with friends, see as many people as possible (always keeps my mind off IVF), hiking.

Unhealthy ways: calculate my due date on the internet, read week-by-week pregnancy milestones, surf baby stuff websites, surf baby names website, plan how I'll break the news to family and friends... and surf for ideas on the net... in a word, I should stay away from the net when I'm 2wwing! LOL It helps deal with the impatience because it feels like I'm doing something baby-wise, but in fact it just makes me obsess in advance... ;)

kerpupples,
How did it go sweetie? Thinking of you and sending loads of babydust!

Kim,
Hi sweetie! You made the right decision yesterday, just follow your instinct, as long as it's not anxiety-based, its advice is always the best! :D

Looks like we have at least one POAS-addict here! ;) Hehehe, I'm not. Like you, on my first cycle I POAS on day 13 after transfer I think... and it was negative. I did tell myself that I wouldn't take a BFN at face value, but I did. I cried so much, I remember walking the dog in a snowstorm that day and just screaming in pain on a deserted football field. Always an image that reminds me why I shouldn't POAS. Because of course, AF took two more days to show up, so I didn't know if I could trust the HPT or not, and then the blood test was one day after that, so all that time I was in a complete limbo, re-living the disappointment of the BFN each time. Once is enough, thank you very much! I still yielded on IVF #2 and POAS, that time because I thought I was pregnant and I had a suspect discharge. It was the second HPT in the box I had bought for my first IVF. Now that evil test is never entering my house again, LOL!

So I guess HPTs are really not for me, even if they are tempting. Plus I've found THE symptoms that cannot be caused by the meds and that tell me if I'm pregnant. When FET worked, last time, after 1 week I started peeing more often; it was really obvious. This is due to the body's metabolism going faster, taking care of the growing baby. And then towards the end of my 2ww, I would get so dizzy that playing solitaire on the computer almost made me sick! You definitely don't feel sea sick playing solitaire just because of progesterone or estrace. Those are the symptoms I'll be looking for in a few weeks. They might not show up this time, because pregnancies are different each time, and also because my first beta was very high (hormonal flare-up made the symptoms more intense I guess). But if they do show up.... tee hee hee, I'll know what to expect!

That being said, I've been on cycle buddies threads with POAS addicts and I never judged them. In fact, when they did become pregnant, it was sooooo cute and exciting to hear them talk about that second line getting darker with each passing day (each passing hour in some cases!) It would be so cute and funny to see the pictures they posted in their blogs or on photobucket! It was a great way to share the excitement with them. I don't think there's a right and a wrong decision for HPTs; as long as you can handle a negative result, and as long as it brings you joy and excitement, and not anxiety, then it's okay!

Bottom line is, if you feel like doing HPTs in a few days or in a week, do tell us about it! :)

Take care ladies, and have a great day!

Kim - I'm on 2 Vivelle patches every other day instead of Estrace. The packaging says they deliver 0.1 mg/day. I'm guessing maybe you don't absorb all that's in the Estrace tablets hence the difference dosage levels. I'm also on 1cc/day of PIO and Medrol for a week since we did ICSI.

We had the transfer this morning. I was pretty bummed when we first spoke to the doctor because she said that of the 3 embryos they thawed, 1 was dying and the other 2 6-cell embys hadn't started dividing. However, when the embryologist looked right before the transfer, we had 1 8-cell and 1 6-cell that looked like it was starting to divide. So we transferred those 2 fellas and it went pretty smoothly. Doc said they were placed nicely in the middle of my uterus and that my lining looked wonderful.

So now, 2WW! My beta is on 8/11. I too am POAS-er but I'll likely wait at least a week to do so.

Time to go rest for a bit.

Cheers,
Amy

Amy:
Congrats on the transfer? Those two embies sound good to me, and almost exactly what I transferred. Do you only take 1cc on PIO and no other progesterone? I am taking 2 cc of PIO...my butt looks like a pin cushion. However, no complaints b/c I want that precious baby!
Did they tell you what your lining was? Mine was 8.7 the day before transfer. I was hoping for higher, but RE still said ok.
My beta is 8/9.

Ericka:
Congrats on your transfer!!!! It is exciting.

PMApsy:
Your post make me laugh. I just love them. Especially all the things not do...b/c we all do them!!! This is the first time I haven't checked the exact due date. I am just trying to stay calm and not get myself stressed out. Easy to say when I am only 2dp3dt. Just wait until the middle of next week...basket case I am sure. :)
I may take the end of next week off, as I wait for my beta. I was so stressed out during my last FET, that somehow I really feel it affected my outcome.
My dh is really excited and hopeful this time. These are the last of our frozen embies, so oh, please send some baby dust our way.

Kimmy - yes I'm just on the PIO for my FET. I did Crinone gel for the fresh cycle but not this time. I didn't ask about the numbers for my lining during the transfer - at my last U/S it was at 11 mm.

No symptoms for me yet - it's a bit too soon based on my last cycle. My only symptoms were uterine cramping and tiredness. We'll see!

Yesterday spent the day out and about with family - nothing too strenuous and it's nice to keep from thinking about getting pregnant all the time!

Hi girls!

Soooo how are my princesses this morning??? How was your weekend?

Amy,
Congrats on your transfer! Sorry the doctor gave you such a scare... :( Fortunately, that story had a happy ending! And hopefully, it will have a happier sequel, lol! :D

Kim,
Glad I made you laugh. Good thing that you're trying to stay as calm as possible, puts even more chances on your side! ;) The last few days are always hard... but remember: no matter whether you worry or not, the outcome will be the same, and the remaining time before the test will also remain the same. The more you think about it, the more time seems to slow down. So it may be a good time to start a little project? A new book, crafts, something like that to keep you busy and entertained?

Ericka,
How are you doing sweetie?

Whew, what a weekend!!! We accomplished so much, it's crazy. We've been renovating the new house since April, and now we're finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!!! Woohoo!!! We were able to clean the house a lot during the weekend, plus we moved a couple of pieces of furniture around (we now have a closet in our bedroom! What a luxury, lol!), the kitchen is as good as done; still have the plug the inox fan/hood above the stove and do the grout on the backsplash, but you should see it, it's really my dream kitchen! I had meditation on Saturday morning, we went to see Dark Knight in the evening. Very good movie; a bit complicated at times, we'll probably rent it to understand the little details here and there. Heath Ledger was truly scary as the Joker; yes, by all means, give that guy a posthumous oscar!!!! Tragic story or not, that guy truly did a masterful performance! Wow! He stole the show. Loved Gary Oldman, too, his character is not the typical policeman. Some critics found him bland, but I love his character's personality, and his portrayal of it.

Then on Sunday, cooking, cooking and some cooking! Had made a red velvet cake the previous day... can't believe the two of us ate 2/3 of it already (it's a two-layer cake!). I baked English muffins, 4 loaves of whiole-wheat bread, a big rosemary foccacia loaf and a whole dish of cannellonis. I moved my clothes to my new closet, cleaned our two bathrooms, tidied up some surfaces that were invaded with miscellaneous objects (moving/renos) and we installed the gazebo on the terrace above the garage. We had dinner there, it was just lovely. DH was very busy too, cleaning the floors and building the closets upstairs, running some errands, installing my beloved shelves in the kitchen...

Unfortunately, our new neighbors across the street are a real pain in the neck... when they partied loudly with friends and music outside around the pool all weekend last weekend, I thought, "Hey, it's just their housewarming party, no big deal." But they did it again this weekend! Both days! From the end of the morning until after dinner. Can you believe this? Children that get excited around the pool and squeal and scream, adults too, pop music non-stop all afternoon and evening... grrrrr... I'm not antisocial, but I would NEVER impose my music on neighbors.

FET is coming, but I don't think about it too much. I just try to make my plans accordingly. For example, we still have to move heavy stuff around a little bit, and we'll try to get it done by next week. And I told DH that, starting next week, I won't be able to stain and varnisk aaaaaaall the doors that we bought for the house, because it's toxic. Tee hee hee, I don't mind passing on that chore. Other than that, I'm taking lots of meds right now and preparing mentally to pay the fee next week. Geez, they increased it; 250$ more than it was on February! Hey, don't tell me the staff's salary has increased so much! We really are at their mercy...

Have a good day ladies!

Thanks for that funny anecdote, Sophie! That sounds horrible.

For me, POAS is really just a way to prep myself for a BFN at beta. If it comes out positive, fabulous, but I'm really not expecting it. I don't think I have any danger of ending up like that poor woman.

Sophie:
I am excited for you that have a newly remodeled house. I bet it looks gorgeous. I read the blog about the women who went nuts about HPT's. I had to say I thought it was quite funny, b/c I can totally relate to it.
I told myself that I wasn't going to POAS this cycle. Alll of a sudden yesterday, I dropped everything that I was doing and ran to CVS. I had to POAS. Seriously, it made no sense. 5dp3dt and frozen embies. No way was it going to be positive. I don't know what I was thinking.???

Anyways, I am going to try to hold off until Friday.
Kerpupples, do you have any symptoms???

Hi ladies!

kerpupples,
Oh dear, I hope that post didn't offend you! it was not aimed at you personally, I just caught that on another thread and wanted to share with with the IVFers I interacted with on the whole forum, that's all! :) Given that we had talked about it, I just thought that woman's opinion would add to the discussion, show one extreme (and what an extreme, poor lady!). I'm really sorry if I offended you, it was not my intention.

Kim,
Hehehe I think what you were thinking was along the lines of, "Can't wait to know the results!!!" And that's very human dear! How wise to wait until Friday! But if you yield, do tell us the results; we'll be there for you! :)

No offense taken, Sophie. No worries! :D

Still feeling very tired. I've also had some slight occasional cramping but it doesn't seem to be as strong as it was for my last BFP. We'll see. It's hard to get excited early when you've had a MC.

Hi Ladies,
Sorry, I've been away and work's been crazy! (That's not true...I've actually been in a stare down contest with a little plastic stick wearing a pink hat for the past 3 days.................the stick won.)

Glad to hear everyone is doing well...

PMA: Get that stuff done now while you can!! Soon you'll be blissfully unable to lift anything over 5 pounds!

Kimmy:
No symptoms yet, just tired and I've had headaches, which I never get. I don't remember having them with the last FET or fresh cycles, but I can prob chaulk it up to caffeine withdrawl...a little cramping, but as many of the posts say, any twinge is an OBVIOUS pregnancy symptom!!
I have to say, I work for CVS, so I'm so glad you buy your HPT's there

Kerpup: I caved and took the dreaded HPT this evening. I do it for the same reason...I can't bear to hear the dreaded news over the phone (prob at work) without having an idea of what to expect first. My test was negative, of course...6dpt. But of course I was able to rationalize it...way too early, not done in the am, slow FET results...you name it.

Keep the faith ladies and just sleep tonight knowing it's not in our hands, but God's....

Have a great night...sticky dust to all!!

Hi ladies:
I broke down this morning and POAS. I used Answer and FRED, both showed a light +++. I am so excited. I had alot of cramping and heaviness feeling last night in my abdomen. I am still not sure I believe it..I am anxious to try a digital tomorrow and see what it says. I don't want to tell dh until I know for sure. He thinks it is too early to test. I am 8dp3dt (FET).
Baby dust to all,

Wow Kimmy, CONGRATS!!! Let us know if the digital is + as well.

Erica, you're totally right about the reasons you come up with why it is negative. Here's hoping your next one is +++ like Kim!

I'll definitely be POAS tomorrow. I have to say that if I had to guess based on the way I feel compared to my last BFP (tired, crampy, face is getting a little "glowy"), I'd say it's a BFP this time too. But it could be psychosomatic....
