Dakota - So glad you are doing better! I never had any doubts!

Jude - Twins. . . Awesome (plus they will play with each other. . .I really liked that idea while I had twins)

Rubylee - I am glad you are feeling better - I am so paranoid about getting sick - it is good to know that you got sick and made it through :)

Gennessa - I worry about our dog too - he is really sweet but he is big and will just be a year old when baby comes - but we will work with him and it will be fine.

Ftg - cool about the video and congrats on 12 weeks. We got a VHS video - they didn't have DVD and I am not sure what to do with it now - but it seemed like we should get it at the time. I got cleared for my 12 weeks the night of bunco so I made sure everything was good so I could tell my bunco group. It is really fun (but no one in my group was very surprised - I guess they all knew already).

Angram - make sure you get rest. Are you working all day - money is important but baby is more important right now - so get your rest

Neffi - We are definitely finding out the gender. I have a friend who didn't find out on either of her kids because she wanted to be surprised "because life has so few surprises". But, for me, I will be surprised when I find out at an U/s appointment. I couldn't wait until birth . . .this process has so few great moments . . .I take 'em where I can get 'em

So I went to the "high risk" OB on Thursday which was great b/c I got an u/s and it was going to be my first week without one. It is nice b/c these dr's are all covered by insurance so the u/s was only a co-pay of $25 vs $150 at the RE. It was a regular belly u/s rather than a vaginal. Baby was moving alot and we say his/her feet up close (which made me cry and I don't usually cry at the u/s).

I would go for a u/s everyday but I guess the waves from the u/s are what makes the baby dance around and my DH freaked me out that it was hurting the baby. Then I did some more research and basically decided once a week is fine. So if anyone tells you the baby is being hurt by the sound waves. . . ignore them.

The high risk OB also set me up for my amnio which is in 3 weeks on the 21st (scary). And, for some reason they referred me and DH for blood tests regarding chromosomal defect (I think it is a little late for that and a little redundant if I am getting an amnio. . .but whatever).

Other than that I didn't feel like the high risk dr. was for anything other than setting up the amnio and of course I got the u/s which I was missing.

Hi Preggo Friends!!

We are finding out the sex for sure. We have two girl names we both like; Ruby and Olive. For a boy we have one, Wyatt. Boy names are much more difficult for us. BTW, I think life has a lot of surprises. Like not being able to get pregnant on our own, that was a surprise  !

My girlfriend who is pg with her 3rd and a researchaholic just had her 2nd Amnio and told me because they now do U/S guided amnios they are much less scary. I guess they used to just poke and hope the baby got out of the way, now they watch the needle on the screen and make sure the placement is right. My OB wants me to do one too, and I am nervous but I think it is important. We wouldn't change anything if we did find out we had one with downs but I guess there is stuff they can do for other issues like Spina Bifida in the womb. Also, if there was something wrong I think I would want time to get ready and wrap my head around it all. That is some heavy stuff.

Twin moms - Are you amazed at how many women ask you if you did fertility when they find out it's twins. I don't really mind telling people anymore. We started out thinking the IVF part of it was just between family, but I am a bad liar. I have really been surprised at how people just ask you. Men never do, but the ladies are a curious group. Anyway, i gave up. I just say yep. More often than not they know one or more people that have done it as well. For those of you that haven't started telling people, or your belly hasn't started telling people, prepare yourself. Some are more sly and say, 'oh, so you have twins in your family?'. Yep, me and Angelina Jolie :)

Well hello ladies,

Finally get to do personals!

So, Rubylee, thanks on the congrats! I feel weird going to the OB already, and wish the RE had kept us longer, but at the same time I hope it helps get everything early/on time. I hope your tests go okay, and glad you are feeling better!

Genessa - thanks too on the congrats! That's cool you had your first OB appt, and the HBs sound great. That is a long time till the next one - what to do without being prodded and poked!!

Crogers - I'm glad you are feeling better. I'm with you at the moment on the feeling crappy and tired. I seem to have spent more time in bed today than out of it!

Legalndn - thanks!! I am also glad that it will be twins so they could play with each other. I have three older step-children (12, 10 and 7) that stay with us parttime, so I am glad that they won't be by themselves on the days the skids arent' around.

ftg - Way to go on the 12 week U/S! The DVD will be a great thing to treasure for ever.

Dakota - thanks!! Mmm, I had a cheeseburger yesterday and today from McDs - it's about the only size I can stomach for sure. I get really full quickly, and the last few days just haven't been hungry at all. I hope your spotting stays to a minimum and the ice water helps too!

Angram - thanks!! 38 weeks and 3 days sounds good for twins! 12 hours of sleep sounds great too! Your baby must be growing like crazy in there!!

Tarabel - thanks! I hope your ligament pain gets better soon, maybe there is something the OB can suggest at your appt?. It does sound scary.

Neffi - It'll be the weekend before you know it, right?! We are definitely wanting to find out the sex of the babies too. I don't think I could last without knowing until they come out, knowing that I could have found out earlier!

Well, I think I am caught up now! Just been feeling kinda crappy the last few days, super tired and yesterday and today I have had diarrhea - uck. i thought it was meant to be the other way around.
We go for the first OB appt. Wednesday - I'll be 8 weeks! can't wait, I really hope we get an U/S, I want to know what is happening with baby C.
I am not so bloated as I was though, so not looking at getting bigger clothes yet.
take care all x

Hi Preggie ladies

It is fantastic to read all of your updates! I can't believe we are at the stage where we are sharing potential names!!! Amazing!!!!

I havent been on the forum much this week as I am still ultra sick. I throw up almost everything I eat and feel nauseous for the rest of the time. I can keep down water which is stopping dehydration but I am worried the babies wont be getting enough good nutrition. I have lost 5lbs since Beta but my tummy is definitely growing! Clothes still fit but in a different way which is quite odd!

I havent had a scan since 7 weeks. I go on Wed when i will be 11 weeks. I cant wait. I am desperate to know if both babies are growing as they should.

Re going back to work.....here in the UK we have really generous maternity leave. I work full time and my employer will need to keep my job open for 12 months after I start maternity leave. I get paid for 6 months then get a bonus if I come back early. I look forward to getting to spend more time with these babies than I did with my 8 year old DS.

Names: no idea for boys but i love Orla for a girl.

Love to all

Cwrj- I am so glad that Choc milk helps you!!! I am at about 1 gallon a week!!! I've not gotten real m/s, but I would get queezy on and off and Choc milk really soothed the tummy. I just go ahead and drink it all day long now. I cant wait for Wed!!! I am glad you'll get to see your babies and I am dying to make sure that my little one is ok since I still keep bleeding on and off. Its nerve wrecking!!

Jude- With twins you will get lots of u/s and because of what is going on with C they will also increase your u/s. I am surprised that they did release you so soon, I would think you'd be getting weekly u/s. Although I think the only reason why I continue to get weekly u/s is because of the bleeding. I would ask them and tell them you want to be monitoried via u/s at least until 10-11 weeks.

Neffi- Wow Aug 18th does seem like forever away. I sit back and look at all my pregnant friends and see how little they go to Dr, especially when they just start off and I look at how much we got to see and do so soon, I feel spoiled. I dont know what we'll do when we reach a point where we only have to go to the Dr every 4 weeks. That is why I am renting a doppler!!

We are definately going to find out the gender!! No doubt there!! I am hoping that when I go in for my OB u/s that we may get to see a surprise. I've read and heard over and over again that you may be able to see at 12 weeks.
As far as names, I am stuck when it comes to boy names because in DH family there are 6 generations of his name, even though I HATE it, I cant break it. Girl names, I LOVE Gracie.

I am just counting down the days until Wed. I am starting to be a nervous wreck. I get so comfy and encouraged when I am not bleeding, but then when it comes back I get so much anxiety. I didnt bleed at all yesterday, now today I am. It is so scary and freaks me out. Not to mention the growing pains, I dont know if it is growing pains or pains with the bleeding that I should worry about. AAARRRHHH!!!

Hi everyone - I am soooooooo tired.... Its my own fault though I dont stop. This weekend we had a little b-day party to go to for my friends 3yr old. And of course I ran after the little ones holding them etc.

It great hear everyone's updates and stories. I am happy to fill in that I am offically off all meds. Well I mean I still have the vitamins. But nothing else. It sucks though cuz my next appt is not until the 25th. That is SOOOO far from now.

I have a question. Everyone was talking about the ligimant pain, but I have a pain like a sharp needle on my right butt cheeck. Its really weird it hurst to stand up it hurts to sit down. I have no idea what it is and why it is there. Any ideas?

Oh and the question of sex's. Yes we can not wait to find out. It makes a big difference are they two fo the same and gona share everything or once of each and then I need more draws. Names are hard I have a new one each day. I think it will all come down to the final day though I mean s/he might come out looking like a matt rather then a john. But for a girl I like the name hannah syliva after my grandma and for a boy we like joshua james. But if we have two boys then I have no idea as I only have the one name for a boy. HAHAHAH

Have a good monday

Genn, thats your siatic (msp??) nerve. I read you start feeling it around 9-10 weeks. I started getting the butt pain around 9 weeks, havent had it much since, but today I have been getting HORRIBLE back pain. Its horrible to the point I want to cry. These stupid office chairs we have are way too big. They are the high back leather chairs with a huge seat and I am only 5'3" so I cant touch the floor unless I sit forward. I have a small pillow but its not cutting it anymore. I sent DH an e-mail telling him we have to buy me a chair for work  I am sure he is not going to be pleased, but this is killing me.

I just had a picture of myself sitting on the floor of my office with one of those pillows that has arms on them and a back that were popular 15 years ago with my computer in my lap. I am sure my boss would love that!!

Genessa-- This is definitley sciatica. I have it horribly in my left cheek. I started to notice it at 8.5 wks and it just keeps getting worse! RE said it usually subsides into your 2nd trimester. Mine is really bad at night. my best friend is a PT and she said to stretch as much as possible. Its hard to stretch, I found the best is when you sit and do the butterfly stretch(put your feet together in front of you and lean forward) Try that and see. It will get worse before it gets better. :o

Thanks Dakota and Neff -

It is really bad and it seems to be getting worse today. But just like you Dakota I am at work and the chairs suck. They have like to pading left in them and of course my boss wont buy new. And sitting all day with your leggs crossed is not good I know. I am trying to not cross my legs but its habit.

Plus I think I have it in my mind that I just dont want to be here. So I know my mind makes it worse then it is. Mind over matter right..... Until it comes to work.

Take care of your backs ladies! I know I get pains in the low back when I still do too much in one day and don't take enough rests, but its an old injury who knows when it will subside. :(

About the sex, yes we do want to find out. I agree that whenever it is you find out, it'll always be a surprise. for us that will be 20 wk u/s (almost 2 mos away!). I'd like to plan and tell people about it because they're always curious and if they want to give you things, even hand-me-downs its easier when you have an answer for them. We do have a girls name for sure-even before we were pregnant. Evelyn Amy for my grandmother who is 95 and very dear to me, and for my lovely friend who passed away very unexpectedly at 37, 2 yrs ago. I could only hope I could raise her with the wonderful traits both of them have/had. For a boy, we are really in the dark!

I'm so glad the ladies that have asked for more u/s are getting them, and I would expect twins would be watched more often. I won't get another now til that 20 wk u/s, even though we saw the OB today and she just checked hb with the doppler and urine for protein/sugar check. All has been good, and all looks to be on track. Possibly I'll return to near normal energy someday??? I know I'm enjoying passing out when needed though...sometimes twice in one day!

Take care ladies and get your rest wherever, and however you can!

I called the Dr's office this morning because my new book I got from the ins company it says to call the Dr right away if you are having back pain. SO I called them and the nurse said it sounds like I have a urinary tract infection. She said it is very common in early pregnancy because you need alot of water and some dont get the amount needed, and the biggest side effect is back pain. She said the reason why it is an urgent matter because it causes pre-term labor, but its too early for me to have to worry about that, so they will just do the culture tomorrow when I go in and in the meantime use a heating pad on my back and take tylenal.

I am having a hard time getting in my water because I want things that have strong flavors, which water has none. I guess I start putting lemon juice in it. Anyother suggestions?

Dakota- I know exactly how you are feeling about the bleeding. I have been bleeding so much lately and it makes me so nervous. Yesterday I had 3 times where it just gushed out of me. I have an OB appt. tomorrow but I am going to call this morning to see if they can get me in today. Bleeding is never normal but I know it happens more with multiples. A friend of mine is an ultrasound tech and said that I could come any time and she would do one for me. I may have to take her up on it if my OB doesn't do u/s as often as I wished she would. My fertility dr. was so awesome I wish I could stay with him the whole way through.

Gennessa, I have always had problems with my sciatic nerve but for some reason it hasn't hit me yet and I am so glad because it is so painful. I feel so bad for you because I know how it feels.

Has anyone thought they felt the babies/baby? I swear I have felt mine. It was just a little movement but it was something. So exciting!!

Crogers- I would definately agree on the u/s. I would think with you having twins and withe bleeding they will do an u/s right then and there. If not, I would tell them to. Its your right as a patient. When I had all my twin books I was reading that bleeding can be normal because your uterus is stretching faster and harder than normal and can break open vessels and I've read its like turning on a switch, it gushes, then its not there anymore, then later the same thing.

I'll be thinking about you. Let us know as soon as you get back how it went and if they gave you an u/s. At almost 12 weeks, those littles ones are going to be huge since the last time you saw them. I wonder what tricks they will have going on for you :P

Oh, also, I read that with twins you will start to feel them move sooner, by about 4-6 weeks earlier and if this is your 2nd (3rd..ect..) you may feel them even before that. If you are...that is awesome!!!!!

Morning ladies - I'm feeling a bit better today, so actually sitting up :)

crogers - I am so sorry to hear you've been bleeding and I totally agree that your OB should do at least one u/s today/tomorrow to confirm everything is OK. I will have had 4 u/s with my RE, which I also love and wish I could stay with, and my OB said they'll do one at 20 weeks! I was thinking my goodness, I could not imagine waiting that long if this was a normal pregnancy!

Dakota - During my first OB visit I told the nurse that water tastes horrible. She suggested drinking juice, gatoraid, lemonade, and things like that. I've also found that drinking water with ice is helping, which I have no idea why. It sounds odd, but I can barely drink water from a bottle anymore, but water in a glass with ice is much better. She said we just need fluids, it does not have to be just plain water. I've also been freezing the gatoraid and eating it like a slushy, which seems to help. Have you tried liquids other than water? Oh yeah, another reason women get UTI's is gross, but it's due to not wiping properly. Make sure you wipe front to back, as the bacteria gets in our vagina and causes bladder infections too.

Gennessa - Congrats on getting off the meds, I cannot wait for that day!

cwrj00 - Wow, I am so sorry to hear how sick you're getting right now. I have really bad all day sickness, but thank goodness not throwing anything up. I hope this ends soon for you and you get to enjoy being pregnant. My OB said don't worry to much in the first trimester of not getting the little one(s) enough nutrition, that it's more important in the 2nd and 3rd. I think I've gained the 5lbs you've lost though and it's all in my butt and thighs :)

Jude - I'm so excited you're "officially" joining the board :) I've had diarrhea instead of constipation, but my OB said it's just due to the hormones. I guess I'd rather have this than constipation, but still not fun to deal with. Good luck tomorrow with your first OB appt and I hope they do an u/s so you can see how your little beans are doing.

Rubylee - I was cracking up at your Angelina Jolie comment :) I swear if I hear of another famous person pregnant with twins and it was just "natural" I'm going to scream. I know it is possible, but honestly, the odds are just not that high! I read an article the other day that Rebecca Romijn is also pregnant with twins and it's also "natural", just come out and say it for goodness sakes, it's not a bad way to get pregnant :)

legalndn - I'm definitely getting my rest, it's DH's orders. I do work all day, but I've been working from home yesterday and today. DH also wants me to stay home tomorrow, since I've been feeling extra bad these past couple of days. My job is 5 days a week, but my boss is incredibly supportive and lets me do whatever I need. He's out of town this week, so I'll be working from home as much as possible :)

As for me, not much going on. I've been feeling pretty bad these past few weeks, so just eating as much as I can and sleeping whenever possible. We're still not sure if we're going to find out the sex of the baby, although I don't think either of us can wait the entire time to find out :) I haven't started thinking of any baby names yet, just paranoid I guess. I figure once we hit the 12 week mark that I'll start looking at baby names, clothes, room decorations, etc. I cannot wait!!
