Corny: I am so happy that everything is going well with Abigail. As for not being able to know what exactly the contractions feel like (without being hooked up to a monitor), I do not know either. The only way I know I am having them sometimes is I get HORRIBLE menstrual pain that does not go away, or lots of lower back pain, or a stabbing feeling in my cervix. So, I wish you luck on that front! I am on procardia every 6 hours to keep them away though even if I am not having them. So if ever in doubt, go in! You never know when they might do something to the cervix. And if you need to be in the hospital go. I know it is horrible in there and boring.

Rio: Do you have PCOS? They told me to to watch my diet and exercise once the baby is born because I am at a higher risk for diabetes as well. Runs in the family. Sorry you have to take the shots but hopefully ones the baby is born it will go away and we can just diet together.

Corny - Thanks for the update and glad to hear Abigail is doing just great.

Suga- I don't have PCOS, and I am sorry they said that you are at higher risk. I think they really just try to scare you healthy  but I did get a big wake up call to be more active, I wasn't doing much cause my feet hurt so bad. Now I kick in our hot tub and move around more. The diet I am on is pretty healthy so if I can continue something similar... Glad you are doing ok and so are the girls.

Where is everyone else? Busy weekend?

Hope everyone's doing well and babies are all nice and snug and staying put!

So, I remember someone on here saying that the paint color they chose looked really dark at first. I'm having the same thing happening here. When we got to Home Depot they only had 2 shades of pink in the no VOC paint so we picked the one closest to our bedding. DH is working on the first coat right now and it is PINK. I hope this doesn't look like a room washed in pepto bismal when we're done!

All's well here. Busy weekend. Donated a bunch of furniture this morning and the Salvation Army comes on Wed to pick up the rest. Wed our baby furniture is arriving, too. Bedding arrived yesterday. We're actually gonna have a nursery soon! :D

Mellie- good on you for getting yourself out of the clutter and making room for baby!

we're still crazy at work - finishing walls and floors- baseboards, repainting damaged walls, and more! I know we are close to finishing, but it seems the last mile is the longest- we've been at it for 6 years - then the fun starts- putting up artwork, getting furniture back, and setting up the crib-
I'm tired and my hips really hurt-way more than normal - going to doc tomorrow -
hope to find out what whether I can get epidural if i want it/need it for birth- it's coming up fast!

Tammy- how are you??? haven't heard in a while- blood sugar ok?

hope all of you are wonderful and rubbing your gorgeous bellies

more to come-

Hi Girls
How are we all?

Thought i'd let you know that it's offocial i can no longer see my woohoo the belly is just to big ha ha ha funny but true i had my glucose test yesterday and haven't heard anything back yet so heres hoping i'm clear the midwife did say though that i have a flat spot on my stomach and muscle seperation in my stomach which isn't dangerous just means i need to have physio to rebuild the muscles i have been having really bad pains right where they have seperated which now makes sense as to what was going on i don't know what the flat spot on my stomach means i figure it's something to do with the muscle seperation. i also asked about my stomach going extremely tight for about half an hour several times after leaning forward on a bench and she said my uterus is irritated what ever that means .one good thing is the midwife was going to ring my old hospital to personally discuss my notes from ds's birth to see what happened and to see why 2months later theres no record of my file being faxed over to the new hopsital at this point i'm leaning towards trying naturally unless there is something in my file that states other wise about my options and with an active two year old and dh not being able to pick him up either it would be more difficult if i was to have a ceasar i think.

Loopie can't anyone have an epidural as long as labour is not to far advanced or do you have other history that may prevent you from having one if you don't mind me asking.i hope you find some releif for your acheing hips

hey Mellie i thonk you'll find one you put your furniture and other nicknacks in the room your walls won't look so pepto it's probably because theres nbothing else in there to break up the colour yet i'm sure it will look great

Hi Rio how are you settleing into the diet coping ok.
Suga how are you and the girls are they behaving and not making you worry i hope you haven't had anymore scares

Hello COrny how are you and Abigail both going i hope things are progressing as they should and that Abigail continues to stay strong and healthy. How are you coping yourself are you managing ok.

Kbear congratulations on your BFP i hope you to have a smooth pregancy and i'm sure we'll all keep an eye out for your birth announcement in Dec Goodluck

Hello everyone i haven't had time to mention i hope your all doing well and not to hot for those of you in the hot season

Jomae- hope the glucose test goes well. I think a lot of women get muscle separation, but I don't remember ever reading that it causes pain- i am so sorry- don't see why you can't go nat after a previous csect if the docs say it's ok!

as for the epi- I had back surgery (L4--L5-S1)- fusion of the vertebrae- right where they do the epidural block, so it may not be possible for them to put the catheter in due to scar tissue etc- thus no meds that way for me- spinal block may work, but that only lasts 1.5-2hrs max
lots of women have had this surgery- but scarring and changes in the size of the fluid sac make each of us unique - I think Tammy and Rio have had back surgery, too???? am i right???

rio- how's the insulin going? grrr- more shots Tammy? you too?

sug- hope you're taking it easy and no more hosp visits until those girls are ready to meet the world!!

Corny- i hope things are more comfortable for you now, you've been through so much the past few weeks- are you still at home? thinking about you.

gecko-how was your shower? it was over the weekend, right?( silly pregnancy brain- can't remember a thing!) hope dh is ok, and can come home soon. so wild that you are already planning #2! but then again, no time to waste!!! I think about it, but we'll see how well I do taking care of 1- and maybe when I'm done with grad school, there will be time for 1 more? also still hoping to adopt

hey- is everyone on her last big pre-baby vacation??? CINCI? KATIE? MBRE? WEEZIE? KILDEAN? KELLY? HOPIN4? MIA?? we miss you!!!

take care all of you precious mommies!

Loopie- We're still around. Whenever I get a chance, I read some of the posts and since I am usually at work, I don't always get a chance to post.

Aubrey is doing well and we have finally got a hold on my blood pressure. I am on Procardia XL twice a day and Labetatol three times a day. I don't have protein in my urine so I'm not in full blown preeclampsia, just gestational hypertension. I have been working from home 1/2 days now and it makes things so much easier. My perinatal doc says that he will probably advise that she be delivered at 37 weeks. I really wanted a 39 week baby but 37 is considered full term, so there's nothing to complain about. He said with the meds and bp problems she is better off outside the womb at 37 weeks.

My first baby shower is tomorrow here at work. We have had 24 people RSVP, so I hope for a good turn-out. My friends are having a baby shower/luncheon, which was a good idea since people don't have to spend their time usually carved out for family to come to my shower. They can bring a present, have some lunch and go back to work.

Take care ladies

Hi girls!
I am so excited our work-baby shower is today! Since DH and I work at the same place, we have over 50 people RSVP :) I can't wait!
My glucose is still all over the place and I am on insulin. It is very frustrating because I am trying so hard. It is high fasting, high after insulin and then too low at night after dinner with no insulin, go figure!
hope everyone is well and I will write personals a little later!

big hugs!!!

Holy cow Rio! 50 people? That's awesome. You must have gotten tons of stuff. :D Sorry the GD is giving you such a hard time. I feel for you with those insulin injections.

Cincy - how was the work shower? Sorry to hear about the high blood pressure. I hope the procardia is keeping it under control.

Loopie - thanks for the update on Sassy. I didn't know where she was posting so it's good to hear she's doing well. I feel for her with the bedrest and hospital and such. It sounds like you are on the home stretch with your house renovations...that's awesome. I bet you will be excited to have it all done.

Mellie - I can't remember who said it but I agree that once you get the furniture in, I bet it won't look so pink anymore. We have decided to skip painting and just leave the room the neutral color it is now. Well actually, we've put everything on hold for now anyway, but we decided a long time ago not to paint. Although DH did rip apart the closet and paint and put up nice new shelving in there. He did that before we lost Madison and of course now we are too superstitious to do anything else.

Jomae - any word on your GD test? I guess no news is good news, huh?

Suga - how are the babies? You are still home and holding them in right?

Gecko - is DH home now? I hope so and more importantly I hope he gets a nice long break.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate everyone's kind words and support. Even those who drop in to check in on me (Kimberly from Double-trouble and kbear). By the way Kimberly, if you read this...I have been reading your blog for ages and your twins are adorable. :D You guys look like a very active family who has tons of fun at the water. And I am sorry about your brother and his accident. I do wish him a speedy recovery. And I can't forget Hoekey! Thanks for continuing to check up on all of us. I think it's good that you are taking a little break. This IVF stuff takes such a mental toll and I really do believe you have to be in the right place, so good for you!

Well geez, I'm sure there's lots of people I missed and if I did, please forgive me. As for an update on me, I was sent back to the hospital last Friday because Abigail had a little absent diastolic flow and an arrythmia. It was purely for precaution and she proved to the docs over the weekend that she was just fine so they discharged me on Monday. I've decided for now that home is the best place for me for now. And we rented a doppler, so any time I need some peace of mind I can hear her heartbeat. Plus I have 3 dr. visits every week. My next u/s is tomorrow. Hopefully my cervix is holding steady so I don't have to go back in. That's all for now. I guess I've rambled on long enough.

xoxo

Hi Corny baby,

Just checked in after a few months away and I am devastated to hear about your loss. I am sending huge hugs to all of you and am praying for Abigail... I hope you have lots of support and are looking after yourself...

I'm taking time out from IVF for the moment and having counselling to get my head straight before deciding whether to have another go... Like you say this stuff takes it's toll and after 2 miscarriages I'm not sure if I am strong enough at the moment.

Anyway you take special care of yourself and I wish you all the best for you and your family...

Hello ladies. Well, I am not an October mom to be any more! They were born Aug. 5 in the wee early morning hours. They are both doing great and just need help with warmth and a little bit of oxygen but that is it other than they are really tiny.

Mackenzie Elise was born at 1:39 AM Aug 5. 3 lbs 3 oz. 15 1/2 in long.

Brooke Elizabeth was born at 1:40AM Aug 5. 2 lbs 12 oz and 15 in long.

My water broke 8:15 on Monday night (husbands birthday haha) and went into hard core labor at 10:15 then they were delivered via c-section! They are both healthy and doing great! Both are getting fed now so they will start to gain some weight. They get to come home when they are 4 lbs, can keep their own temperature, feed by nipple, and breathe without help. So we will get there eventually! They think minimum a month max 2. But I will keep you updated! I will be at the hospital a lot since that is where they are.

Hope you ladies are doing great!!
