Angram- sorry your not feeling well  It's nice to hear that you have such flexablity at work to help you get through the sickness period.
I've been drinking water at work, but not as much as I should. I drink alot of chocolate milk and a little bit of sprite. I've been drinking ice water with lemon today and it actually taste pretty good! I bought some cranberry juice a few mins ago and am drinking that down now.

You know, once I stopped the PIO shots the horrible constipation that I had instantly went away. Now I am like clockwork, even twice a day!!!

Hi everyone - Well today is not a good day for me. I feel like poop. I did not sleep well at all. I tossed and turned all night long I used pillows in every spot of my body and still I could not get to sleep. And then this morning brushing my teeth I started to dry heave. NO fun. I still went to work though.

I thought it was supposed to get better/easier around three months it seems to be getting worse for me. Go figure. Any ways I am hoping DH will be able to come get me early today as I took the bus into work.

Hope everyone else is feeling better then me.

Dakota and Genessa- Get feeling better soon. Hope tomorrow is a better day.

Angram - glad you are feeling better. Good ideas on the fluids. I have a really hard time getting all my fluids in. Gatorade and milk seem to be my best options.

Have a good day everyone.

Gennessa - Brushing your teeth is the worst. I have done that a couple of times. I always have to rinse immediately with warm water to get the taste out of my mouth. Sorry you are dealing with that.

Dakota - My constipation also seems much better since I stopped the suppies. I am really paying attention to everything I put in but whatever is working I'll take.

angram - I heard that Rebecca Romjin was pg with twins and was wondering what she was saying about it. That's too bad she won come out with it. Chances are they are from fertility. Glad you are feeling a little better.

Everything is about the same at this end. Nausea on and off but haven't tossed my cookies for a few days. Yay!! Hope you all have a goo evening.

Jude, Cwrj & Crogers Hope all went well with today's apt. I can't wait for the details!!!

I GRADUATED!!!! YEAH!!! I got my first baby present and almost cried!!! My RE & nurses had a little gathering around the counter and gave me a pink and blue box with a sterling silver spoon in it. It is SO pretty!!! They also gave me subscriptions to FitPregnancy & Pregnancy & Newborn. I was sad to leave them but so exited to move on. I love the U/S tech there and I am sure I wont get as much attention going forward.
Today's u/s was AWESEOME!! I got to see fingers and toes. I have an u/s pick of just the leg and you can see the butt, the knee and a really big foot! He/She measured 3.61 (2.54 is an inch) and was just a kicking up a storm. The best I can describe it is when we were little and in the pool we used to put our upper bodies on the floaty and kick our legs real hard and fast to splash water, that is what the little guy was doing, kicking so hard and fast trying to flip itself. It was great!!! Once he got flipped he started waving, so I got an u/s pic of its little hand and fingers.
I have my first OB apt tomorrow. I am so excited to be able to move forward. I cant wait to be released to exercise again and SEX OMG!! Not to mention my yard and house have been SO neglected.

My UTI/kidney infection is much better today. I did some major flushing yesterday with lemon water and cranberry. Sshhheewww!

Tara- It was great to hear from you!!

Ruby- I am glad your gradually started to feel better. Soon you will wake up one day and be full of energy and no sickness. It will be like it was never there!!

Genn I so having the brushing teeth issue. I've actually gotten sick in the sink. DH has to leave the room when I brush, he says its to dramatic. I cant help it!!! I hope you're feeling lots better today!

Hope all is well with everyone!!! Neffi, legal, ftg...what going on with ya'll?

Mmmmmm...bean burrito from Taco Bell is so calling my name, I am there!!!

Oh ya!! I thought that I would post and tell ya'll I just read that Lisa Marie Presley is having twins!!! I am sure she'll deny any doing with fertility. Its funny how on Rebecca Romain, int he head lines it says she did not do IVF.

Hey guys!
I hope everyone had a good day today, and the other U/S went well. Hope that those of you feeling sick or getting the dry heaves :( are feeling better too now.

So - I went for my first OB appt. today, and got checked out from head to toe! All looks good, although waiting for iron results. Then the best bit!! I got another U/S! We got to see both our bebes, and they both had heartbeats going strong - the OB didn't say what they were and when I asked he said this machine didn't measure them?! What is that!! They had pretty much doubled in size in the last week, which was awesome!! They are now around 1.45 and 1.5 cm!!!!!! He said with twins we'll get more U/S, but nothing more until the 12 week mark now. Apparently the machine has a 3 week margin of error, so they don't do one within that time period in case what they see is not real.....that's okay with me, I'm just happy to know they are doing well. Baby C was not visible today, there was what the OB thought was a 'collapsing sac', so I think that is the demise of baby C :?
He said he would recommend going to a bigger hosp. between 12 and 14 weeks to get testing done, ie the nuchal transluceny (sp?) - what does everyone else think about getting tests done?
I don't know what I would do if things came back unfavourable, I don't know if I would just rather not know??
Dakota, I'm so glad you graduated! They sound lovely, and that is so sweet of them to give you your first baby present. You will treasure that forever I know.

Well, I asked the OB about nausea too, and he recommended taking B6 tablets daily, and also a med. called Unisom - which is actually a sleeping aid but apparently the active ingredient helps with preggo ladies sickness and is perfectly safe - so we got some, I'll keep you posted if it works!

Take care all and hope you had a good hump day :)

Adsgirl - hope ur doing alright, what's news?

Jude That is great news!!! Yeah!!! 12 weeks is a good time for an u's it is going to shock you to see how big they've gotten and your going to see all kinds of things. It's going to be great!!!
I just got hit today with the whole testing thing and I dont know what I feel abotu it. I am going to talk to DH tonight and see what he says. First, I have to go to a different office to a specialist on specific days, its not all on the same day. Plus, what I am going to do with the info? If something is wrong then I am just going to freak out and worry for the remainder 6 months. I will not terminate if something is wrong and I know alot of people will do so, but I refuse. I also have read on another board where alot of people say they've gotten positive for Downs and they didnt have a downs baby. They told me today taht there is only a 5% of false positive. I dont know. I'd be interested in what ya'll were doing and had to say about the issue.

My OB visit went really well. I got lots more free stuff. I LOVE getting free stuff :P We made a new discovery today. I have a polyp on my cervix and the Dr thinks that is where the recent bleeding is coming from. She is going to do an u/s in 2 weeks and if there is no visiable blood spots on the u/s then she is going to say that the bleeding is coming from the polyp and I can be released for exercise and sex then. Whoohoo!! Once she touched it it started bleeding, I pray that is what the issue is. I dont know what I am going to do for 2 weeks, but I need to get used to it because that will be my last until 18 weeks. (sigh)

Hope all is well with everyone!!

Jude-That's awesome you got to see more than before. I know they will grow fast. If there is any demise, they will know more in time. However if it does continue to grow, then you are on your way. Regardless of outcome, if you are feeling better, and are staying healthy, you have done all you can for the little ones! Keep up your PMA and know that everything will turn out great!

Dakota-Great news on your u/s! Isn't it fun to see all of their movement, and how and why they move around? My tech said that all of their movements at this time are voluntary, meaning they move when they want to. Its such a trip! Congrats on graduating!

For testing issues: I would have to say remember that only the non-invasive testing is necessary for anyone UNLESS you have such a high risk factor (genetic carrier for chromosomal defects, family history from either you or your partner) that your first non-invasive tests come back with a high risk factor, then you choose to have invasive tests. Yes, tests can come back with false positives, it is a fact. I would take genetic counseling with a grain of salt. I remember that it is a service that costs $, and unfortunately makes me a little cautious.

We got our blood test results back this wk for downs. A woman of my age (37) has a 1:240 chance of having a downs baby without any teseting. After the blood test + translucency fold test in ultrasound, my risk factor came back as 1:3101. We have no downs in our backgrounds on either side of the family. The other 2 tests for chromosomal defects came back at over 1:5500 chance. So, I would take precaution when listening to how genetic counselors proceed. Trust your gut, and be very careful about invasive tests unless you do it to confirm your own genetic risk factors. The invasive tests carry their own risk for miscarriage no matter that technology has now helped them with guided ultrasound.

My feeling is, you get what you get. We've all been through so much at this point of course its a personal decision, but whatever gifts our baby has its our job as parents to bring them up no matter what their needs are. Just my $.02 :)

Hang in there ladies, and have a great day.

hey guys,

ftg - that's cool that the U/S tech said that all the movements are voluntary! Amazing to think when they are so small! Your tests sound like they are very reassuring with the results. I am glad for you.

Dakota - yay, more freebies!! Also, great news that the bleeding may be from the polyp instead. Phew! What a relief that will be. At least now as well, any bleeding you won't think necessarily it is something wrong.

I think I will have any tests that are non-invasive. I don't know what I would do if there were a definite that there was a problem. I used to work in paeds, and in fact would not go back to work there now if/until we have our own children, because of all the tragedies that can happen. It scared me a lot to see the devastation that can happen. I pray that is not the case for me or of course for anyone else. This is very hard. I think my husband would find it very hard too, perhaps for already having 3 healthy children himself. I guess we will just take the genetic appointment, and then talk to them but as ftg you advise, to take it all with a pinch of salt. It is our life at the end of the day, and I'm sure the geneticist must have to be biased when that is all they see day in and day out.

So - perhaps not quite so nauseous today- hoping the B6 is working!

Talk later :)

Hi Everyone!

Sounds like everyone is doing great!!! So glad your u/s went well isn't it so cool.

Jude - Glad you are feeling better.

Dakota - Sounds like things are going really well. It will be really nice to see if the bleeding is coming from the pollup. Even just to give you some peace of mind.

Jude and Dakota - As far as the testing goes at this point I don't think I want to do it but I haven't even discussed it with DH yet. But my opionion is that it will not change the outcome for me to know and I would probably just worry more and stress out during my preganancy. You have to do what feels best in your heart.

ftg - glad you are doing well. Thanks for sharing your info about the u/s that is cool to know.

I had my first ob appointment today. I was really nervous because it was with a dr I really didn't want to see but he ended up being amazing. I got to see my little bean in there and heard and saw the heart beat which was 174. I measure at 9w4d so they moved my due date to March 8, which happens to be my little brothers birthday.

I feel so relieved to get to this appointment. It has been 3 weeks since we have checked on baby an it was nice to get the reassurance. I also told the dr how nervous I was and he said I could call at anytime if I needed a reassurance u/s. I don't think I will be going in every week but it might help in the next couple of weeks if I begin to worry for no reason. :P

Dakota I also got a big goodie bag of stuff too. It is fun to think we are going to get a baby out this whole thing.

Hope everyone is well.

Jude-I agree. Everyone needs to do what is best for them, and their situation. I am guessing "paeds" means pediatrics? How cool that you used to work in that field. I remember a few years ago when this desire to have children "hit me" and I used to cry after just seeing my friends kids, etc. How horrible would I be if I had worked in that field!!

Tarabel-I'm so glad you got to see your little one, and it sounds like all is going great! Isn't it fascinating? I still watch our u/svideo cuz I just can't believe he/she is doing all that work in there! I know this will be smooth saililng for you so hang in there.

and Dakota-you're so lucky I forgot to mention your neat gift! That was very sweet of them to send you off that way!

I hope the rest are keeping relaxed, and resting when needed. I just woke from my own nap!

Tara- I am glad all went well with the OB. I think it is so much fun to get the free stuff and its just beginning!! I am going to send off for the "post card coupons" in the next few weeks that also is a bunch of free stuff.

I talked to DH last night about the testing. I am going to skip the 1st tri blood work because I have to go to a special hosiptal and the dates that they said I would have to go are Monday and Friday next week. So I am going to skip that and do the 2nd round of testing (just blood work) on the 28th which I will be in my 2nd tri for that and they can do all the blood work in one day instead of having to do specific dates.

So tell me what you think about this. We've not told anyone yet about our little one. Well, DH told his brother when they were on their fishing trip because I kept calling about the vanishing twin, and I told my BF. Otherwise no one knows yet. Here are my thoughts. After my scan in 2 weeks, I'll be 12w4d. After the scan I was going to head over and get some cards made. On the front very plain, black and white it will say .
" Coming Soon..." and when you open it will say "Feb, 2009" and an ultra sound picture will be done in it. We will fed ex these to family (all family lives out of driving distance). What do you think? I havent decided if I am going to write on the outside of the card envelope to call before they open. Any suggestions? I just dont think its fun to call family that has been waiting for this for 11 years from us to just say " we're going to have a baby". I want something fun and shocking. What did you all do, or plan to do?

Hi Everyone

Dakota - I think your annoucement idea sounds so cute. That will be a fun way to tell the family.

Our immediately family already knows. We all live within 5 miles of each other so we really couldn't keep it a secret. We will call our out of state family in about 2 weeks and let them know. Nothing special here.

Hey Dakota we have been trying to have a baby for 11 years too and I think we are about the same age. Sounds like our stories are pretty similar!

How is everyone else doing? Hope everyone has a great weekend. I have to run I am making wedding cupcakes for my friend that is getting married today!
