SUGABEANS and DH CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! AND WELCOME BROOKE AND MACKENZIE !!!!!!!!!!

it's amazing!!!! you must just be over the moon with joy! I'm glad you all are doing well and that they just need to pack on a little weight before they can come home- it's truly Magnificent! Hope you are feeling good, tell me if you can - how was the csect performed? were they worried about you or the babies? I know with twins it is more frequent that they perform a csect- forgive me if i'm getting too personal - just want to know everything!!!

Cinci- glad to hear from you! I am sorry that you're on meds- but good to hear that it's not preeclampsia - how was the shower??

ok- speaking of showers- give it up- BEST AND WORST/WEIRDEST gift!!!! tell !

Dh has been hard at work on the house- getting trim work finished around the doors, windows, and baseboard- it's soooo exciting to see things really coming together- we've been making our home for 6 years, and are so close!!! it is frustrating that I cannot do too much, but am able to clean and move a few things- and since our baby shower is here next Sunday, there is a mad rush to get things back in shape - my friends have been so helpful- other than that- lots of kicking and weird punches- and I guess some braxton hicks things - but not sure. doc said baby's head is down- that's the 1st time anyone checked -

Take care

Thank you to all you ladies! They are truly a blessing in our lives and they are just wonderful! Mackenzie had her first crying fit yesterday which was cute. They are still doing great! Brooke gets fed every 3 hours, 4 oz each time while Mackenzie is still on 2 oz.
Pictures are up on photobucket.

Loopie: The csection was not bad at all. They take you back in the room (without your husband at this point) and have you sit up while they give you the spinal. It takes effect almost immediately and they try to move you down before it totally sets in. It feels like you will fall of the table at times.
Then they put the drape up around you. Your arms are out to the sides (mine were not tied down or anything). Next thing is your husband is allowed back in to sit by you. I did not feel anything and asked when we were going to get started and they said they already did and a baby was almost here! I think the surgery itself lasted liks 20-30 min?? From open to close. But the babies came out screaming and they let me see them before taking them back to NICU. They both got a 9 on their APGAR scores. Then you go to a recovery room for an hour to watch the bleeding. They let me go to the NICU to see the girls before taking me upstairs to my room. After the section (and for me during) I could not stop shaking. It is uncontrollable. OH and dont get scared but it feels like you can not breathe during the section because of the epidural. It makes you feel really heavy on the chest. But just weird feeling more than anything.

I think I got the majority of it for you. It was kinda a blur! You will be fine though! They keep you pretty doped up so you do not feel too much pain. After 24 hours you have to get up to walk and it is not horrible just more uncomfortable. Just make sure you stay on top of your pain meds once the morphine from the epidural wears off. I would say the first day is the worst in moving and as long as you walk around a bit it gets better each day. Just do not over do it! You will be fine if you have to get a section!!

Well, I am off to pump the boobs (still nothing and I am on day 5). I read that women with PCOS may not get milk in! So I bought a supplement (herbal) to try to help me out. I guess it is not the end of the world if I can not breast feed even though I really want to. SO pray I get my milk in!!

sugabeanzs - You and I were due on the same day and here you are, a mommy!!!! It must be an incredible feeling. I am so happy for both you and DH!!!!! I am glad that you and the girls are doing so well and I hope that they can come home soon. It is so good that they are eating well and crying and behaving like little babies! I am sure you will have them home before you know it. You C-section sounds like it went as well as it could. Thanks for sharing the details with us. Good luck with the milk. Your persistence should pay off soon. Keep us posted on how you are all doing and take care.

loopie - I am so happy that your house is coming together in time for your shower. We finished everything we wanted to do this summer and it is comforting to know that we are all set for baby's arrival.

corny- How are you doing? I hope you are relaxing and hanging in there. Is DH still working?

rio - How was the office shower? 50 people?!? You lucky girl!

I had my shower last sunday and it was lovely. My friends who hosted the party did a great job of making it just beautiful and a day I will remember forever. DH and I were overwhelmed with how generous our family and friends were. We received lots of items from our registry and a lot of homemade items from a personalized teddy bear, to hand knitted blankets, bunting, and hats. What a fun day. I have all the gifts organized and all the clothing washed and put away. Our nursery is done with the exception of new blinds on the windows. I will try to take some pictures this week and post them on photobucket. Loopie - I don't know about weird, but the most creative gift I received was a "cake" made entirely of diapers! It was pretty cool! I couldn't pick which gift was the best though. They were all wonderful! Rio - how about you?

As much as I am blessed to be pregnant - finally - I have to say that I am feeling very uncomfortable lately and ready to get it over with! I am almost entirely unable to sleep at night because I just can't get comfy. The only time I am able to sleep is when I finally come downstairs and sleep in my lounge chair. I am also having lots of backpain. I am trying to keep up with walking several miles 4-5 days a week and that helps a little but it is getting hard too. Any suggestions?

I hope all the rest of you mommies are doing well and enjoying your weekend. Take care!

Hi Mommies!
It has been a very long while since I posted but I have been checking in on and off to see how everyone is going.
I first want to send my love and support to Corny - I am sure losing Madison was very difficult but it sounds like they are keeping a close watch on Abigail which is fantastic! Each day that passes is another day that she is able to grow inside of you which is wonderful!!!
And a special congratulations to Suga - wow, your two little girls have arrived!!! How wonderful! I saw their pictures on photobucket and they are so sweet! It sounds like they are doing wonderfully well which is great!
Hi to everyone else! Hope that everyone is doing well and hanging in there for the home stretch! Hard to believe that we are in our 3rd trimester, isn't it?
Things with me have been entirely uneventful (which is great). I have my appointments every other week and each week I am told that everything looks great, the twins are growing well and that I am a low high-risk pregnancy! Great news! My DH and I just got back from a week's holiday in UK yesterday and we had a great time. It was fun to have some time just to ourselves before these little ones arrive.
It looks like we may be one of the few on our October list who aren't finding out the sex of the babies - we are keeping it a surprise, although some of my friends are dying to know. We've done the nursery in a pale green and ivory and will wait to add the bedding, etc once the babies arrive and we know whether we can go gender specific or keep it gender neutral. Since they'll be in a bassinet for a while we figured that we have time!
I have my first baby shower on Thursday and am really looking forward to it! It is one with my friends so it'll be loads of fun!
Sorry that I don't have many personals but since I haven't been on here in awhile I am not current with all the news!
Take care mommies and I promise to post more frequently from now on!!

Magic Magin - thanks for checking in on me. It's so good to hear from you. Seems like it's been a lifetime since last November. I am glad to hear you are taking a break and getting mentally prepared. That's half the battle I think!

Well ladies...this may be my last post for a few weeks. I am being admitted to the hospital. I am just home wrapping things up and packing a bag (again). I won't have access to the internet while I'm there. The docs have decided that with all of the unknown variables of my pregnancy, and the critical time I have hit (27 weeks), that the hospital is the best place for me. Maybe DH can figure out a way to get me on the internet while I'm there, but if not...you all take care of yourselves until I get back. :D And keep those babies in til October!

xoxo

Corny- take care of yourself and Abigail- sorry the docs have suggested you be admitted, but better to have all of those wonderful skilled folks around you, and keep her safe and snuggled in until Oct! I know it seems like a long time, but you'll get some reading done, and hopefully watch a great deal of the Olympics! and hey-well, at least you don't have to cook!

we're thinking of you with much love and hope

Suga - your little girls are adorable, I still can't believe one of us is already a mommy! Congratulations!
Loopie- I hear ya! We are also messing with baseboards and the works, the room is not even close to finished, I am panicking! We also got a diaper cake that was darling. To be very honest, I haven't gotten anything odd or weird!
Corny- so sorry you have to go to the hospital but you will be in great hands! Can DH post for you so we know you and Abigail are ok? Good luck!
KellyM - great to hear from you! I am glad the twins are well and I can't believe you are waiting to find out - I am too curious! So happy you are having a great pregnancy!
Gecko- how is DH? I am impressed you have everything ready! I am with you, can't sleep well and everything hurts. I can't breathe at night and the other day I had a very minor panick feeling I just wanted the baby to come soon! I no I am not acting rationally but I was so uncomfortable. The baby has been moving tons and pressuring my ribs.
Cinci good to hear from you! Glad you are keeping things under control with meds.

My diabetes is all over the place even with insulin, it goes from too darn low to a little high, The doctor can't get a handle on it and he is hard to get a hold of! It has been frustrating but I am doing ok. Lost about 4lbs now instead of gaining 1/2 lb a week like I am supposed to. This brings me to 17lbs total gained weight so far. This is the only time I am not happy about not gaining weight!

Anyone picked a glider yet? Does it have to lock?

Ladies with PCOS, I just wanted to let you know, if you have trouble breastfeeding there is a reason! Hormones! You may or may not have problems everyone is different. However, I do not produce milk on my own so I have to take herbal supplements as well as a RX to help get things moving. I am still only getting 1 cc after 3 times pumping! So hopefully everything will help me along eventually. If not, I know formula is not the end of the world. Just wanted to give you a heads up if you have it.

Girls are still great. Hope you all are well!

Sugabeans- glad you are all doing well - I cannot imagine already having a little one in my arms- let alone 2! it must be simply incredible! -

- hope the meds and herbs start working better for you- you may also want to try to eat FENNEL bulbs -apparently it assists with milk productions- and they say Guinness is pretty good too! ( I'll be having one of those and some sushi as soon as I can!)

I'm not soo big, but am really beginning to feel achy and cranky- I hope it passes, or I'll never make it back to school this semester. Still working on the house- just a bit each day - shower is here this sunday, so I have a lot to do to get things ready- my friend is coming on Friday to help me clean and stuff, and she is doing all the food, etc- still feels weird - I have no idea how many are coming, and they seems to be very lackadaisical about RSVP-ing - what is the deal with that? so many ways to communicate in this age of connectivity, yet folks cannot send a simple email and say they are coming or not - grrr- hmm- can you tell i'm cranky?
oh- one more thing- my docs have not checked my cervix in 12 weeks-they just take a look at my tummy, measure top to bottom, and then sort of send me on my way is this normal? :? I mean I don't mind, but it seems like they should see if it is thinning or whatever it does

alright- hope all you mommies are doing great -

loopie- I haven't been checked since about week 17 but I get monthly ultrasounds. I don't know if this is the reason they don't check me.

Corny-I know you are going to be offline for a while but our prayers are with you and Abigail.

Suga- I cannot believe that one of us is now a mom. After everything we have all been through to get our babies, it's just so amazing. Congrats.

Well, the baby shower went very well. I had 25 co-workers attend. The best gift was a cloth lavender hamper filled with all kinds of things from my registry and the most unusual but also one of the best was about $125 dollars worth of excellent children's books. I now have to purchase a book shelf for her room :D. My church baby shower is Aug 24th, so I am trying to get everything organized for one more round. The one thing I don't need any more of is clothing in size 0-3. I have had a ton of clothes given to me by two different friends. Gift cards are great. I am saving the ones I got at the first shower to see what I get from the second and then I'm going shopping for the items I still need.

My DD starts college on Aug 25th. College tuition and daycare at the same time....I really didn't think this one through did I?....lol. She will be living at home and attending the University of Kentucky. Honestly, I have mixed feelings about it her living off campus, but mostly I am glad she is living at home for right now. We tend to butt heads sometimes and that hasn't been great for my bp but I would just probably worry myself to death. She isn't the most responsible 18 year old. Unfortunately, she has absolutely no interest in her new little sister. I'm hoping that will change once Aubrey gets here.

Take care everyone, they are almost here.

Suga- So glad to hear your girls are doing well! Cutie pies!
Cinci Awesome baby shower gifts! How fun! We also have another one this weekend and I can't wait, I am with you on the 0-3mos clothes - have too many already! Ouch, college and day care! You are brave, we are still figuring out how to pay for daycare for two (hopefully a sibbling soon!). My SDaughter is not remotely interested in the baby either, although she lies to her grandparents about it. Kids, go figure!
Loopie I had an ultrasound 5 weeks ago and the next one is only at 38 weeks! My OB does the same thing, measures, asks me questions and sends me on my way, so I guess it is normal. I forgot when my appts go to every week. I agree on the frustration on people not RSVPing!

I am doing well but still on the GD rollercoaster, I can eat the same thing and get two completely different results the next day. Still losing weight... :(

Just got back from OB he said no problem on not gaining weight and that I need to exercise even more! Especially after dinner. He also said past 28 weeks is the critical mark for survival and if the baby is born before 38 weeks, you subtract your # of weeks from 38 and that's how long the baby would be in the hospital for. He also said I need a non-stress test every week now.
:)
hope all is well!
