Rio- I am going on the bi-weekly stress tests at 34 weeks. I saw both my perinatal doc and the regular ob/gyn today. Aubrey weighed in at 4lbs 4oz. She is in the 56th percentile in weight and size. They do the ultrasounds for me to make sure that the hypertension meds don't stunt her growth which is a side effect to one of my meds.

Cinci - I wish they were doing an ultrasound too! But not until 38 weeks!!! :( With GD it is the opposite they want to make sure the baby isn't huge. Sure feels like it! I will let you know how the test goes, I do it next Thursday!

How are you girls doing? Everyone has been so quiet!

I've been wanting another ultrasound, too! My dr said that I might not get another one until the very end. I guess she's not worried, I just want to be sure that the baby is big enough. My tape measure measurement came out fine, but I wouldn't think those would be too accurate. It would just be comforting to know that she's on track.

hi girls -
jomae- you must be thrilled to be back at home- get some rest and enjoy getting stuff back to normal- hope no news is good news on the GD front!

mellie/rio/cinci - it is strange that they don't want to look- but I guess we'd gone for 10s of 1000s of years without seeing what was going on in there- not seeing for a few months shouldn't be as tough as it seems to us gals who have seen our beans from the time they were a few cells old!
I have an Advanced Fetal Care ultrasound scheduled for monday - this will be the 1st time i have seen the bean since we found out he was a boy at 18-19wks. Seems that since i am of advanced maternal age, they want to check to make sure stuff is ok?

hey kelly- good to hear from you - how was your shower? where did you go in the UK ? I had thought i could squeeze in a small trip somewhere, but funds and time got away from us this summer with all of the work on our home- grrr! oh well, that's why there are books!

weezie, tammy- you girls ok? must be soooo busy- tammy GD under control?

I'm just chilling - I have a very long 3 floor walkup, and it is starting to get to me - we have a freight elevator, but I'm holding out until absolutely necessary- my legs are so tired- anyone else itchy? my skin is driving me crazy!!!! arms, legs, belly- grrrrr!!!! other than that- had a pretty good night's sleep last night, and only got up once- and was able to go right back to sleep -woo hoo! most nights i'm up for 2-4 hours- part stress, part peeing i guess

alrighty- keep strong mommas!!!

(If you read Double Trouble some of this is a repeat)

Loopie: Truly, it is your body's way of getting you ready for sleepless nights. So, take it as a blessing that you are getting a lack of sleep for it is getting you adjusted. I know, it sucks though.

Rio: How is the GD going?? Still on a roller coaster?

Pumping is getting a little better SLOWLY! I am getting about 6cc every time I pump (not enough to support a baby on). So hopefully taking the meds I am on will help more and more eventually. I will give it 2 months and if my supply does not totally come in then I think I will just formula. So at least they will get some breast milk in the beginning.

Mackenzie has had trouble with her tummy digesting food so they stopped her feedings. She was getting knots in her intestines from not being able to digest. So hopefully that will straighten itself out here soon. She also has her heart rate drop a few times a day so they think she was getting an infection because it just started out of the blue so they put her on 2 antibiotics. So hopefully that will do the trick there. Still no oxygen needed and she is almost off her flow that keeps her lungs open. So she is doing great lung wise.

Brooke is getting 6 cc of food every 3 hours and gaining weight at about an oz a day which is great. She has been off her flow for about 3 days now. No tummy or heart issues there. For her being the smaller one she is doing a little better. So we just have to push her vibes onto her sister!

Other than that, I am an emotional wreck and feel guilty that I could not carry to term. Did I not do bed rest enough, I should have stayed in the hospital on bed rest, etc etc. So when I go to church tomorrow I am going to ask to speak with the bishop on how to deal with it so I do not tear myself up about it as much as I have been.

Also, the nurse scared the heck out of me last night because she said that I needed to talk to the doctor every time something new happened. But I think asking the nurses should be fine for they know what is going on most of the time. She had no idea what the meds were for though and that aggravated me. She said she was new and that I should talk to the doctor. Immediately I thought something was wrong with Kenzie. She was like Brooke is doing great and Kenzie is doing ok. I do not know why it made me so upset last night.

My poor husband has to deal with a lot of breakdowns lately lol. I love him to death for it because I know I am hard to deal with at the moment.

Suga - I'm happy to hear that the girls are doing well overall. Hope Mackenzie gets better soon! I'm not sure why you feel guilty but I think it's probably normal to have strange emotions after giving birth. I hope your bishop makes you feel better. Sometimes it's easier to blame ourselves for something that goes wrong than to really accept the fact that we never had control over it to begin with. That's something I know that I did w/our fertility problems.

Sometimes things don't happen the way we hoped, though, and it just is what it is. But you did keep them in there a long time given how many times they tried to come early! I'm sure you did a great job for your girls! You went through such a lot. They are lucky that they had you! :D

Thanks Mellie. And yes, we are truly blessed that they are doing well over all. I mean it could be a lot worse. Other babies in there are doing a lot worse compared to our babies and I have to keep that in mind a lot of times (even though I feel horrible for those babies as well). But thank you for your kind words.

Suga - Don't blame yourself for one moment, we have all seen the efforts you made to keep those girls in there as long as you could, and you did a great job because they are doing well. If you weren't a good mommy, you wouldn't be worrying so much! You are wonderful and those little girls are very lucky to have you as their mom! Thanks for keeping us posted on their progress! Post more pics if you can! They are in my prayers for a speedy trip home!
Loopie - so fun to see your bean again! I am u/s deprived! ;) those things are addicting! Is the advanced fetal care u/s any different? Post pics! I have had a lot of trouble sleeping, I feel like the baby is here already I am so sleep deprived! Everything hurts, it stinks, might try Tylenol tonight. How is your pooch reacting, does he know? I think our dogs know. I got frustrated last night and started crying (my SD was giving us tude all weekend and too much stress) and my dogs started whimpering and kissing me, it was so sweet!
Gecko DH back yet? How are you doing?
Tammy you have been MIA, update us on how you are doing :D
Jomae wooo-hoo for being in your home, what a relief!
Mellie I feel the same way, I would just love some reassurance that the bean is ok!

Lots of hiccups for us and tons of movement. He is getting so big that I am having trouble breathing and sometimes he does something to my ribcage that kinda hurts! The GD is under better control but my numbers are still all over the place. I have lost weight and I have my endocrinologist wanting me to gain weight (0.5lbs week) and my OB saying not to listen cause the weight is redistributing! So it gets kinda confusing....... 17 lbs so far of weight gain with 7 weeks to go...

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I haven't been around much, but I have been enjoying having DH home for two weeks! It has been the best part of my whole summer. Unfortunately, I had to return to work today and DH has to go back on Thursday. It was hard to start working again. I am only planning to teach until Sept. 26th (as long as I don't have any problems) so I can make it that long. I also saw the doctor today and she said to come back in two weeks and then it will be weekly after that. I also have to have NSTs twice a week from here on out. I guess it is just what cinci was saying, that because of my high blood pressure meds they want to keep an eye on his heart rate and growth. I also have a growth scan in two weeks. Lots of appointments!

Rio - I have gained twice what you have so far!!!!!! Yikes! You are doing great.

sugabeanz - I am so glad that you and your girls are doing well. Hang in there. I know it must be hard but you have done a great job and I just know they will be fine. Keep us posted.

mellie- I wouldn't worry about not having another u/s. It just means that you are doing fine and they aren't worried about a thing. Hooray!

corny - I know you are resting in the hospital, but I just want you to know that I am thinking of you. I hope you can update us soon.

loopie - Did you have your shower yet? Was it wonderful? I can't wait to hear.

I hope everyone is doing well. I can't believe how close we are now. Take care.

HI Girls!!!- been an exhausting but great week

Tammy and Weezie- where are you??!!

Suga- you and the girls are doing great- emotions running high right now is completely understandable and Dh knows that, I'm sure. I hope Mac is picking up the pace and growing each day as well as Brooke- and that the pumping is getting a bit easier. Don't let any of those pesky hospital folks get you down- they don't have a clue what you are going through, and I personally would tell their supervisors( or head of hosp) if you are not satisfied with the way they are treating you or the girls- it is your right as a patient and parent.

Gecko great to hear dh is back!!!!! I know you must be so much more at ease knowing he's home - the couple of weeks I was away from dh were not relaxing at all - usually i enjoy flying solo for a bit, but there really is something about pregnancy that makes you want to be close to your partner - it's weird, sometimes when we just walk by one another in the house, dh and i hug or kiss :D it's nice

rio- i'm sorry to hear the aches are keeping you up- my friend said she took Tylenol PM as directed by her doc to get some rest- I would check and see if that is advisable if you are really feeling exhausted (I'm going to ask -may even call today) I know our bodies are getting ready, but best to try to get as much sleep as we can before the big day- can you get a nap around mid-day? I think 17lbs sounds pretty good- I'm at about 14 I think. As for the pup- he's a big napper and definitely knows something is up. Sunday was our shower, and he had a great day sniffing babies and getting pats- he slept all day yesterday-GRRRR soo jealous! Funniest thing- Porter saw a new stuffed bear in the pile of gifts and a guest shooed him away from it as he was getting curious, so and he went to his toybox, got this chewed up stuffed animal out of the box, walked over, dropped the tattered stuffie on a pile of gifts, looked at my friend then and tried to swap it out for the new one

Cinci- when's your next shower? Sounds like you really got some amazing stuff- I love love love the books! Agreed about the clothes - I think I need to have twins to use what I already have!! DD off to college- how wild!!!! she may not seem too excited about Aubrey yet, but I am sure once she's here, they'll bond.

Shower was great- cried a few times -it was here, so I was a bit stressed about getting things cleaned up and ready- but the house looked great. My friend did such a beautiful job hosting- everyone seemed to have a good time! there were about 50 people here!! I was a bit overwhelmed- sort of like a wedding- seeing friends and family I've not seen for ages, and so little time to catch up -and the gifts were insane!- I tried to speed through it while being gracious, and it still took almost 2 hours! we got about 35 outfits from dh's mom alone! I cannot believe how amazingly generous folks are! We are so lucky - and jr bean will be so lucky, too! So- cool things... a "Captain Adorable" super hero onesie!!, Inglesia Loft baby rocker/bouncer- it's super cool looking and bright orange! lots of books, a gorgeous quilt with retro dick and jane images on it that my cousin made, supersoft lamby blanket/stuffed toy, and tons more health, layette, bedding, oh my!! and not a dud in the bunch-

I was sooooo tired! and got no sleep, and had U/S at 8 am yesterday- baby bean looks great and is in the 45th %ile for size- so perfectly average and looking like he'll be about 7lbs- which is great- he has a big belly, a nice heart, and an 8cm diameter head- that's all I remember
I then went to meet with the anesthesiologist to talk about my back and pain relief options should I want them - looks like they'll try a bit higher due to scar tissue, but the epidural meds may not flow and numb evenly or at all but will do their best, and I feel more confident knowing that they and I know what's going on. If Csect is necessary, and epi doesn't work, they will need to put me under- hope that's not how it goes.

we got quite a few repeats at the shower, so today I am going to return about a hundred things and get a monitor

alright- that's it for now- still so tired

Good Morning MTB!!

Loopie sounds as though your shower was fantastic! 50 people - yikes, you must have been a busy mommy! That is hilarious about your pup at the shower! I can totally see my furry baby doing that!!!

Suga - I think your emotional state is completely understandable and I am sure that DH empathizes. In fact he probably hates to see you upset and stressed! My DH is already fretting about how much pain I might be in since he hates to see me in pain. The girls are doing great and that is all you can ask for now - everything else is so minor in comparison!!!

Gecko - sounds like you've had a nice couple of weeks! Great that DH was home while you were still off!!!

Cinci - I wouldn't worry about your DD showing no interest in Aubrey. If she is heading off to college then she has a lot on her mind right now. but once the babe arrives she'll fall in love!

Things with me are good except that Baby B is killing me with the kicking in the ribs. The feet are right up under my ribs so when the kicking or movement starts I am in agony. Apparently I am carrying these babies high so I don't think I'll get any relief until they drop which may not be for while. Tonight I start my pre-natal classes and can hardly wait. I haven't had much time with my OB (even though I go every 2 weeks) so it'll be great to get some information from the classes and to meet other multiples parents.

Had my shower last Thursday and it was so much fun. I can't get over how generous everyone was! We got a great selection of clothes, equipment, furniture and practical creams, etc. I loved it all!!! There wasn't a dud gift in the whole lot!

Anyway, thinking of you guys a lot! I go back for my bi-weekly u/s and OB appointment next Tuesday and then I think I am to go every week.

Well, I am done with the pumping and trying to BF. I gave it a try. I do not want to have to take pills to try to make the milk come in though and I think that is something that has been making my stomach so upset. Plus, I noticed today that the supply is actually getting less so I decided to just stop and relieve myself from that stress. Who knew PCOS could lead to no breast tissues strong enough to support BF. I really wish doctors were more tuned in on this to warm their patients.

Mackenzie got a shot of caffeine to help with her heart. They said usually everything calms down around 34 weeks which is next week. And some meds to help with her tummy. She started back on 2 cc again. Heavy baby weighing in at 3 lbs 7 oz now!

Brooke is in the step down nursery. She is a grower feeder. Just needs to gain the weight and be able to suck on a bottle and she can come home! She is 3 lbs 4 oz and needs to be 4 lbs to come home. So most likely she will be here before Kenzie.

Other than that, just a little stressed which is normal. Glad to hear all your showers went well! Did you all actually get stuff off your registry? People mostly got me clothes which kinda annoyed me (but I was greatfull!) because I needed a lot off the registry. Oh well.

Well, little Mackenzie keeps giving me emotional breakdowns! Not her fault though. Today I went in to the hospital just to check up and they (nurses) bombard me saying I need to sign this sheet saying that they can give her blood. So of course I am like...ummm why does she need blood? Well they say since they have been taking so much out of her for tests that she can not reproduce it as fast plus it will help with the oxygen levels and help her breathing. So hopefully this works the caffeine last night did not help. So once the blood goes in her breathing should slow down otherwise they will have to put her back on the cpap. So pray it helps and that she starts to do better. She is on room air though and keeping her temperature so that is great. She got her feedings taken away again though because she threw it right back up. So pray her tummy gets worked out as well.

Brooke is on room air as well and will start to bottle feed sometime next week hopefully. So once she gains the weight she can come home pretty much.

It breaks my heart to cry over Mackenzie then look at how well Brooke is doing and just break down. I do not wish this experience upon anyone! But in the end it will all be worth my two healthy girls! Hopefully that time will get here sooner than later. I know that in the end this will teach me a great lesson even though I do not know what it is totally yet. (Patience I think is a bid one, thanks Heavenly Father!).

So please say extra prayers for the girls; esp. Mackenzie.

Hi Mom's

Well i wish I would only be at 17lbs I feel HUGE compared to that. But my doc says in fine and im not getting to big. I cant see how I am to carry for 8 more weeks. I am all belly and huge and I hurt and get the contractions all the time. Doc said as long as they are not every 10 minutes its normal. I had my last US last week at 31w4 days and he measured 32w4days. So a week ahead. and he was head down Im hoping that means he will come a bit early. Only showed to be in 51% so I guess he is right on target. HMMM dont know Just know im READY. (in about 4 weeks).

Is anyone doing the cord blood? We have been going back and forth and need to decide ASAP. I am going to look online tonight and learn more.

Showers were great everyone was soooo nice and he is set. I am doing wash and boil on Labor day weekend and he will be good to go. How are yall feeling. As nasty tired and sore as me?
