ooohhhh I feel so special...everyone was worried about me...and missing me!!!!

Hi ladies!!!

Sorry I didnt post yesterday...work was very busy as I am considered "support" to our emergency staff...(police, fire department..)
Actually, everything went fine. Nothing major happened for the most part. 40 mph winds and LOTS of rain. But we can always use the rain here. It didnt get to a hurricane like they orginally had thought. So that was good!! But, it is supposed to leave land, go in to the Atlantic, become a hurricane and hit Jacksonville FL...That is were StephJim is!!!! I so hope it does NOT get stronger. I tell ya..I hate these stinking storms. Not only does a hurricane come but on the east side of the storm tornados pop out everywhere. Do you UK girls get tornados?? I rather have a hurricane then a tornado. Those are so devestating!! Anyway...all is well for my family. thank you so much for your conern...

WOW Becky!! You are spoiled!!! But you deserve it. Enjoy your posh weekend..AGAIN!!! 8)

hey Chriss!!! You better check in soon!!! We miss you...

Pma...where are you??

Hrobinson...stop working so hard and come check in!!!

Nims, how is that sweet baby girl doing? She is just beautiful. Really, she is perfection!!!

Wishful...you little hussy...bringing the stilletos and all!!! And a swingers campsite...you little devil you!!! I hope it doesnt rain. So your clinic is finally open but they havent called back...call them up!!! Tell them Hello...you have been waiting forever. Do you know if they do speak english or not??

Angel my love!!! How are you? Are you 100% better yet?? i hope so!!!

Ok...I will be around all day Ladies...I know, Iknow you guys are lucky!!!

Hello ladies!!!

Good morning! How are you doing? NOT WORKING TODAY!! AND TOMORROW! yay!!! We're on holiday until September 2nd. Weather is on our side; it's beautiful outside and will be until this weekend at least. We're planning to do all sorts of fun things!

Let me do personals first:

Miracle,
HI GIRL! I'm glad to know you and your family are okay; I thought about you a lot. How are you doing? How is work these days?

Carolyn,
LOL about the swingers!!!! How neat that your great grandma had your initials! Aren't these things just precious, family heirlooms? I hope you have fun this weekend my dear! :D

Angel,
I hear you on the "I'm glad we have each other but still I would miss having children". But don't worry, it does get better with time. A year ago, I still felt like a part of me would suffer from the failure of one of my most important life goals if we don't have children. But a year later, it's radically different and it does not hurt as much, at all. Give yourself some time; you know one attempt, no matter the outcome, changes things a lot, and that always make you evolve and grow. *HUGS*

Welshbugger,
You're spoiled indeed! But don't you deserve it girl!!! :D:D:D I hope you get pampered a LOT this weekend! Have fun dear!!! hehehehe you know, the man of my dreams actually is Welsh... ;) So I do understand your comment there! Alas, we won't be able to adopt the corgi. I had misread her file, and she was "on trial" in an adoptive family, not "on trial" at the shelter. *Sigh* I was disappointed, but there's plenty of other dogs out there! I LOVE Jamie Oliver!!! And Nigella too! (though she cooks FATTY stuff!!!) I also love Michael Smith, Rachel Ray, Anna Olson and Laura Calder (you can all find them on the food network website... with LOTS of amazing recipes!) You should really try Rachel Ray's recipes; she cooks a whole meal in 30 minutes and it's really easy to prepare. OH and my test date is next Tuesday; when in doubt, check my ticker! ;)

Tomorrow will be a super exciting day! We're going to adopt our new furbaby!!! I'll go for a much needed hairdresser apt at 11am (my roots are out of control and we've been letting my hair grow since MARCH!!!), and then we'll head right for the shelter, which is at about an hour drive from our place. We'll bring Daria with us of course, so she can meet her potential little brother or sister. We chose that shelter because they have a lot of interesting dogs. And you can just show up during the visiting hours and leave with your new dog. No waiting for weeks until someone calls you back and you realize after all that time that the dog has been given to another family. Ugh! ;) We're very excited!

Other than that, the other super exciting news is that I'm almost sure I'm pregnant. If I'm not preggers, there's really something wrong with me. I feel tired all the time, I start craving for a nap around 2pm... really not like me. I've had those cute little cramps here and there, signs that my ovarian cyst is a bit restless, which is also a good sign (means it's reacting to the hormone levels). I've also felt cramps in the middle of my uterus that might be implantation cramps. I've started going to the loo every second (it was the most obvious symptom when I was pregnant; it's not a side effect of the meds). Yesterday, I realized my sense of smell is way sharper and sensitive than usual. I can smell really subtle smells that my DH doesn't. And lastly, yesterday as we were walking the dog, she pooped and my husband picked it up and as he closed the bag I had a split-second smell... and I felt so nauseous I gagged in the middle of the street. So of course this is very encouraging (not the poop gag, the symptoms!!!!), but strangely it does not make me more eager to have the beta on Tuesday. It's like I just know already, and having the confirmation will be nice, but I'm looking forward to other things instead and I just enjoy my day. Weird huh??? Each 2ww is different... it's the first time I experience it that way. Really weird.

My best friend has her u/s today. I'm really looking forward to hearing about how many beanies there are.... :D I think there's only one, but I'm sure she will be really reassured when she sees the little heartbeat. Such a wonderful moment! I really hope she can calm down and just enjoy her luck and the miracle of life.

Okay, enough pregnancy talk. I should take that shower an get the day going! Laundry, dishes, kitchen to clean, bathrooms too... all the things I tend to postpone badly because I'm so lazy in the evening!!!

Take care ladies, and have fun!

Becky, hun there is absolutely no need to explain it. Its your big 4-0 and ofcourse you should celebrate in style, and be spoilt rotten. We're just jealous of you - in the nicest possible way :D

I think after all the IVF lark, anything that gives us a little bit of pleasure and distraction is welcome, don't you think?

So you're gonna go and get yourself all spruced up tomorrow? Are you going away for 1 night or 2? Well, enjoy it and hope you get lots of BCABB

I have no idea where Angie is - she's just disappeared completely. Its worrying. Maybe she needs a break away from it all, but wish she would let us know she is ok.

Its DH's birthday this weekend. And I plan on going on a spending spree today. I just love surprising him with a series of pressies (one main one and then a number of smaller/ funny ones). Have to put my creative hat on. Maybe I should bake the birthday cake.........hmmmmm............

Sophie, hope you find a wonderful playmate for your furbaby.

And all those symptoms do sound very very positive. Are you not at all tempted to do a HPT?

well crap...where is everyone?????

Hello lovely ladies!! How are you all doing??

I have been very busy at work...YUCK. But I wanted to post a little something to you girls know I havent ditched you!!!
This storm Faye, she hasnt turned in to a hurricane but boy she really is doing a lot of damage. Thankfully, nothing is damaged at my home or any of my family or friends homes. But they are showing pictures of these people with 2 feet of water in their homes. It is soooo very sad. It reminds me of Louisiana...obviously not as bad, but still, there is a lot of damage. These poor people have lost everything. I just cant even begin to imagine. Tornados hit seniors retirement area and the poor things, they are just trying to get their meds. It just makes me cry. It really is terrible.

Anyway, enough saddness...

Angel...where are you lovey? Yeah, I wish I could tell them that you girls need me and come first...but somehow I dont think it would go over to good!!!!  How are you feeling??

Becky...you have ONE free pass...you better not go missing like Angie...I will send the troops out... i hope you know I was only teasing you about being spoiled...!!! There is nothing wrong with that. I hope you and DH have a FABULOUS time this weekend. Oh, by the way, I think you are amazing by having your list of things to do without a baby around. But I am truly hoping you will be able to toss it out the window!!! 8)

PMA...hey there MS PREGGO!!! Sounds very promising. I am praying that your instincts are right on the money!!! Only a few more days...gosh, I cant believe the will power you girls have!!! I would so be POAS!!!! But rock on!!! You girls are good!!! So have you found a sibling for your doggie yet??

Oh Carolyn... I know you are camping...I hope all you swingers are having a great time... Dont do anything I wouldnt do... 8)

NIMS...how are you MOMMIE?? How is that sweet baby girl?? We should have known you were having a girl when she wouldnt come out by herself!!!

Ok ladies...I will be checking in later...You girls better wake up and get on the posting ball again!!! :D

Hello ladies!

Aaaawwwwwwwwwwwwww it's great to have some time off!!!! The weather is SO NICE you wouldn't believe it! Yesterday, my best friend Anne, who is pregnant, came to visit with her two dogs, and in the afternoon we both needed to rest so we went under the huge tree in my backyard and just lay there, listening to the lovely August nature sounds... amazing! And I did it again this afternoon!

On Wednesday, our family grew bigger! We went to the SPCA to take a look at the available dogs there... we walked a few, but didn't find THE ONE at first... either I wasn't falling in love, or it was DH... and after a while, I lingered near a cage in a corner at the very back of the room... there was a nice dog in there, extra sweet, who approached me gently and let me scratch him and caress him... and *closed his eyes* as I was caressing him...

His story is very sad. That sweet boy was abandoned by his mommy when he moved; the owner found him locked alone in the apartment. The SPCA suspects that he has not seen the outdoors very often and was probably abused. He recoiled in complete terror when the lady put him on a leash, and no matter how hard she tried to drag him outside the building so we could walk with him, he just refused to move. He just stood there, terrified, shaking so much his hind legs and his rear had tremors. In the end, DH had to pick him up in his arms and carry him outside!! So we sat with him and caressed him; he glued EVERY inch of his body against me. And after a few minutes, he seemed to realize that, hey, there are all sorts of nice smells and things to discover outside! And he started walking with us and grew more confident with each step!

We both fell in love. He is a Shepard/Collie mix, 1 year old. He has a black nose and the rest of his body is tan. His toes are white and freckled with red, so cute! The tip of his tail is white too; it looks like a paint brush. They had named him Picasso, but we didn't like it. We named him Toulouse (as in Toulouse-Lautrec). He LOVED the car ride; he's the type of dog who loves to stick its head through the open window and just watch everything with a big smile, tongue and ears in the wind... ;) Our other dog, Daria, accepted him without any fuss. THe male-female combo usually works best; no domination wars. Plus he is so submissive that she did not feel threatened one bit. Even the cat wasn't traumatized; he's slightly bigger than our dog and yet he is very discreet. No barking... he whines a little whenever one of us leaves the house or goes upstairs (he's still scared of the staircase). But I can tell you, he is making HUGE progress every day. He will be completely transformed before long. If you want to see him (and our furbaby girl), you can go there:

http://s108.photobucket.com/albums/n25/ ... /Toulouse/

Welshbugger,
I hope you'll have a nice weekend, being pampered and everything!!! I see you share my... interest for accents! ;) Good, good! :D Thanks for your kind words sweetie!

Angel,
Happy birthday DH!!!! If you ever need a good recipe for your b-day cake, I have several! :D Tell us about the funny gifts!!!! :D:D Oh, and you temptress!!! Don't put ideas in my head! Must... not... yield... to... POAS... temptation!

Miracle,
Thanks for your nice words sweetie! :D I sure hope my symptoms are real! POAS is a personal thing, you know... I think I explained it already... my personal experience with HPTs taught me it was better for me not to POAS. I trust the blood test, and that's it. And in the meantime, it's better for me to keep busy! How are you doing darling? Anything fun planned for the weekend? I'm so sorry to hear about what happened around you with Faye... it is very sad indeed... :(

To all the other ladies, I wish you an amazing weekend!

Hugs and kissies,
