Howdy!

hey Gecko- nice to hear from you!!- yep- puffy feet (though I'm still wearing my stacked high heels  ) and TI-RED!! - i am so sorry about the tests- my friend had preeclampsia, and they made her quit work at about 30wks - it can be dangerous, but it sounds like you're under control. how is DH? is he home?

rio- so great you will have a bilingual baby, I am going to try to speak some spanish and french that i know to him, but i mostly know names for items and a few verbs- maybe i'll hit the lottery (if I ever played it) and get an au pair....

mellie- since i started feeling jr bean kicking, it's always been on my right side- at or below my belly button or right in the middle- straight out!- this kid's been low low low- no trouble breathing, seems to be sitting on my bladder and making my back hurt more and more, and occasional headbuts to my cervix!
at both my doc appt (she pushed around ) and my U/S confirmed- he's head down - feet and hands to the right- butt up! seems to be a favourite spot- just hope he doesn't change his mind at the last minute!
I can tell you low is probably only slightly better than high if at all.

met up with my girlfriend from Chicago last night- she is due 6 days before me! soo great- they'd been trying, and were giving IUI 1 last go before heading to IVF, and voila- it worked- she looks great and at over 6feet tall, and hubby 6'5"- they are sure to have a very long baby.
Other than that, been cleaning like mad- those pesky closets that hadn't been dealt with since we built them- and tossed out crap I'll never use.-but I am wiped out again today, going to walk the dog, and pack for camping and that's it!

take care

loopie

Loopie- I can't believe you still brave high heels!!! HOw fun to have a friend due at the same time! I wish I did too!
Suga - HOw are the girls? Wonderful I hope!
Gecko - good to hear from you. Please let us know if you get any good tips from your classes! How is potty training the puppy? Dh home for a while now? I hear you on working, my 8 hour days are really tough and I am wiped when I get home. I really need a break!

I had another NST today and the baby is doing great, I also had lots of contraction which the OB said were normal and I didn't feel a thing, except for the baby moving. Other than that no weight gain for the last 6 weeks (lost a little) but OB is not concerned. Sugars seem to be somewhat under control and I have low BP in the a.m. so I have been really lightheaded. Other than that I think most of us are crossing the important 34 week mark - WOOOHOOO!!!! I just can't wait to meet our bean! He has been kicking me left and right and moving that little butt around!

Ok girls - sorry but I need to vent! We were at dinner with Dhs parents (my dad is deceased, mom lives overseas) and we said something about Skid being difficult (his ex is a huge influence on her and not a good one) and MIL says to me "are you sure you want to have kids?" What the H$$$ thing is this to ask a woman who went through IVF (she knows) because her son had chemo which killed his motility, to have a baby with him and is 33 weeks pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Then they leave on a trip 2 days before he is to have exploratory surgery on his back, they couldn't have postponed a motorhome trip for 2 days? Oh and she told DH to tell me not to have the baby early, wait for them to come back! Ok - thanks - i needed to vent! My poor DH will be in pain today and I know skid won't help me care for him  . Ok - good baby thoughts now! :D

Rio - OMG!!!!!!!!! Family members can be such pains at times. It sounds like they are thinking only of themselves. I would not have known how to respond to them saying "are you sure you want to have kids" but may have said something like "yes, as long as they don't take after you!" Ok, I am mean, but you get the idea. As far as delivery goes, I would go ahead and call them AFTER you are home from the hospital regardless of where they are when you go into labor. Who wants them around during that time anyway? You sure don't need the stress!

I hope the surgery for your DH goes well. What are they looking for? I hope you don't have to deal with a sick hubby and snotty SKids at the same time. Can you ship the skids back to their mother while DH recovers?

Take care..

Rio: holy crud. I swear some people do not think before the speak. No matter who it is. I hate when people ask if they are sure we are ready to be parents, I dang hope so! They are here and we did IVF. Ugh people. Hope the surgery went well and recovery is not horrible! Make sure you take care of yourself as well hun!

Gecko: Preeclampsia under control? Doing ok??

The wedding ring is finally back on! It is still tight but it goes on and off. Makes my finger look chubby, lol. At least people will not think I am a single mom now!!

GREAT news and I hope it stays great....Mackenzie tonight had GREAT breathing stats!!! Her oxygen was where it needed to be and she was breathing at the rate she should be!!! She was not doing this earlier when I was there but when Nick and I went back up she was. So hopefully it stays this way and she can slowly wean off the oxygen and high flow! *prays* So pray she keeps it up! She is now 4 lbs 11 oz (chunker!!) and on 15 cc of food! Slowly getting up there in feeds. Still needs help to poop though.

Brooke is now 4 lbs 4 oz and on 28 cc of food (remember, 30 cc is an ounce!) So really as long as she keeps going up on feeds (about 30-55cc) and can bottle feed then she gets to come home!! She is still not on bottles yet because she has some spit ups and they want to get those under control before they bottle feed her. But I pray she takes to the bottle really well and can come home. She may get too tired though sucking and would still have to get some through a tube. So pray she does not tire out when she starts on the bottle.

My mom is in town for the weekend so it will be fun to see her with them again since she has not seen them since they were a few hours old.

I am so tired of the acne on my face! I need my hormones to get back under control. The ProActive is slowly helping...I think. Brings out new zits every day so it is hard to tell. I am also ready to not look pregnant any more. I applied to the YMCA today so I will get back in the gym as soon as I get the ok from the doctor...3 more weeks and I can start to work out.

Hi ladies
What a bugger i'm typing this for a second time internet disconnected just as i was finishing my post and i lost it .

Suga i'm thinking of you and your girls and hoping they make their next goals of continueing to breathe better and increasing their feeds by the sounds they'll be home before you know it.

Rio some people have no idea my inlaws and i never really got on at all until i had ds and now things are so different so here's hoping the same for you. hows dh going had the surgery yet hows he doing?

Hey gecko hows things i hope the docs are keeping an eye on you

Loopie lucky you having your friend due so close my sister will be having her bub via c section on the 15th of september so katies cousin will also be close in age like ds and his cousin who is 4 days apart. and your right carrying lower is better by far ds was extremely high and i was uncomfortable and had heartburn bad the whole time this time with katie i'm carrying a lot lower and i'm no where near in as much pain

Hey mellie i have most of my kicks just to the right and above my navel and my hicups are lower left middle mainly i think at this point they have to have a favourite position as theres no room left and where they end up they end up

As for me only one dizzie spell since the trip to the hospital has anyone not put on any weight in the last two months I had put on three kilos in total two months ago i weighed myself the other day and i had lost half a kilo so it's two and a half kilos in total to date i'm not complaing about not weighing much more but I wonder how normal it is, with ds i only gain 6 kilos with him possibly 7 maybe i'm just lucky. i have another appointment at the hospital tommorrow so hopefully they've pulled their fingers out and retreived my records i must sound like a broken record asking for them but time is ticking by and i need to know by the 34th week so i know whats going to happen and the c section can be booked if necessary. I have decided that if i do have a choice i will opt for the natural birth with my situation it will be so much easier after wards if i don't need to nurse wounds especially with a two year old i need to tend to.

Is everyone planning to breast feed i totally support mums who for what ever reason choose not to i'm just curious knowing how much trouble and stress it caused me and ds i do plan on trying again this time and hopefully i'm better informed and things will work out ok

well best go hello to evberyone i didn't get time to mention hope things are going well and your all not to uncomfortable

Corny hope your hanging in there

take care jomae

Hey Ladies. I'm sorry not to touch on everyone's progress. I'm really just going to vent.
DH has me LIVID! We are under a voluntary evacuation (it will probably be mandatory before sunrise) and my parents want to pack up and hit the road. But, DH is not leaving. In fact he plans on working on the house today. We have done nothing to prepare for this hurricane and the city already is looking like a ghost town. I understand his lack of concern (being from the north and all). But this is serious crap. I've lived in South Louisiana all my life and this is the first time I'm really concerned. We are looking at a potential direct hit! And what upsets me is that my mom refuses to leave without me. And DH says I am his wife and he will decide whats best for us. I know traveling to Dallas (7hrs, my sis lives there and has a neighbor who is out of the country and said we could use his home) would probably take 15 hours and it would be VERY hard on me. But for the first time in my life I want to leave. Wish me luck in talking my DH in to doing what is safest for us.

Hello Mommies! It's 5:30am here and I've been up since 3. No real reason just more of the pregnancy insomnia that I've had off and on since the start. So, I thought I'd try to catch up w/everyone.

Loopie
- Stacked high heels and camping! Wow! You must be feeling great. It's so nice to hear that you're enjoying your pregnancy. Must be fun having a friend due around the same time, too.

Rio - Why are you having the NST? My cousin's wife had one, too, and I'm wondering why my doc never mentioned having one. We're going to have a bilingual household, too. DH will be speaking to her in Swiss-German. He's started by reading to her (well, to my tummy) at night. I thought that he meant that he was going to read one of the cute little German children's books we bought but, no, he decided to read "Captain Hornblower" to her!

Also, sorry to hear about that insensitive MIL comment. That would have me upset, too. Hope your DH is doing well.

Suga - I'm happy to hear that your girls are doing better! Hope you have them home, safe and healthy, soon!

Jomae - I think my baby's favorite position is similar to yours. As for the breastfeeding, I am going to be heading back into another IVF cycle most likely as soon as possible so I won't be lactating very long as I have to get my cycles going. I plan to pump for a couple of months. We'll see. I'd love for her to get some of the health benefits from breastmilk (especially since DH and I both have seasonal allergies and I have asthma). But I also want her to have a sibling and at my age and with my diagnosis I can't let much time pass before we try again for another baby.

Weezie - That sounds so scary. If you can't talk him into it can you go without him? That may sound harsh but you have a baby to protect. I hope that you and your whole family get through this safely . Please update us on how you're doing when it's convenient.

Gecko - I haven't noticed any contractions but I haven't had any testing by my doc that would pick up on any that aren't apparent to me. Hope you're feeling good!

Well, I guess I will meander through some other corners of the web for awhile. Wish I could just fall asleep. I'm so glad it's a 3 day weekend, though. I can just be lazy tomorrow if I need to be. :D

Hi everyone! Well, I am an August mommy too. It's a very long story but I have posted it on my blog so I won't re-type it here. Even the blog doesn' tell you the half of it. Long story short though, 2 days after I was admitted my water broke so they just said, labor or an infection, whichever happens first and we will take the babies out. I made it 11 days before infection set in. The babies were born at 28w6d. Please pray for Abigail. She needs all the help we can give her. Hope everyone is well. I will have to go back to catch up.

Corny - I just read your blog. Oh my goodness but you have all been through a lot! I am praying for you all and know that you will all be well. Abigail's pic with daddy is tooooo cute and I am gled she is doing well after her surgery. Please keep us posted on how you are all doing.

Mellie - You are thinking just like we are with trying for #2 pretty quickly. I am planning to BF for 6 mos, get a mamogram, and then try again with our frosties next July. I hope all goes according to plan. Are you doing another fresh cycle, or a FET cycle?

weezie - I hope you are clear of Gustav's path by now. I also hope your DH decided to go with you and your parents. Take care. I am praying that this one misses you all and is not as strong as Katrina. Please let us know where you are and if you are ok if at all possible.....

Jomae - I am glad you are feeling better. I am going to try to breast feed for 6 mos if I can. I have heard that it can be a very difficult thing. I want to at least try and if I can't then formula it is. I guess I won't be able to tell until I'm doing it how it will work out. I hope the second time around works for you.

sugabeanz - I went in for another NST on Friday and no contractions and not protein in the urine. Hooray! My blood pressures have all been really good too, so I am hoping that it stays that way. Sorry about your wedding ring. I had to finally take mine off for good this week. I swelled up during the heat wave and almost didn't get it off! Sigh....oh well, I know I am married. EXCELLENT news on Mackenzie!!!! I hope she catches up to Brooke soon and you all can go home. Hang in there.

Congratulations Corny on becoming a mommy! I am sorry again about Madison, she will always be your little angel and she will watch out for Abby. I will be praying that Abby progresses rapidily and that you recover soon. Please keep us posted!

Mellie - sorry you can't sleep. I am having the NST because of my gestational diabetes. You shouldn't need one unless you had hypertension or GD. Glad your preganancy is going well!
Weezie - I hope you can convince him to leave right away or go with your parents where you can get necessary medical attention if you need any, being in ghost town is scary!
Jomae - wow you barely gained any weight! I gained about 8kgs so far but nothing lately after the GD. I plan on breastfeeding for about 6 to 8 mos then going for another IVF cycle like Mellie.
Suga- awesome you can wear your ring! I miss mine. Woo-hoo for Mackenzie! Seems like Brooke is still doing great and gets to come home soon! So happy your mom is there with you, wish mine was here too!
Gecko How is the blood pressure? I am feeling contractions now, once in a while.

DH is slowly recovering from his poking around in his back, he coulnd't have anethesia like we would because of left over chemo in his lings so he was in lots of pain, but is slowly recovering. I feel like it is harder to do things at this point, moving around is quite hard! Skid went to her mom's early - thank God - so that saves me stress.
Anyone a little scared of being overwhelmed with the baby and not knowing what to do? I am very excited about meeting our bean!
Hope you are all having a great weekend!!!

Corny: congrats hun! I PM you as well...

Weezie: BIG holy crud to your husband...were you in that area during Katrina?? I live in Florida so deal with this a lot and anything over a Cat 1 we get out of the way!!! Those things are dangerous and it is heading STRAIGHT for LA. So please take him with you! But if he refuses, you better get out of the way at least. Make sure you take all personal items (pictures, documents, etc). I worry about you hun!!

Jomae: I did not gain weight easily while pregnant (blessing!!) but as long as babies are healthy, who cares. I wish I could have breastfed. If you can do it I commend you!! I think it is the best for the baby as well but now I understand people who can not bf.

Rio: I felt overwhelmed the other day...it happens. Just take a breath and it will pass! I get hot and sweaty when they start to cry and I have to remember to breathe. Takes me a minute to figure out what is going on. I think mother instincts kick in when they are at home. You will be fine!

Gecko: I already want to be pregnant again...I know odd! I miss the feeling though. So I think when the girls are a year and a half we will try our two frozens out and if that does not work I dunno what we will do because we can not afford a fresh cycle again. BUT I think my husbands insurance covers it (like mine did the first time) so once we get on his insurance we will be covered again if we need a round two. I think I am crazy even thinking about a fresh cycle because I hated every moment of it! But the outcome is awesome. Hopefully our frozens work.

Corny: I just read your blog. Wow. You are a strong woman! I pray for your family and your husband is a strong man. It is amazing to see how great husbands are in times of need. Again, any support I am here for you! NICU is an emotional place. I hope little Abby becomes a strong healthy little girl (which I am sure she will! Girls do better born earlier!!) and I am sure she will work things out with her intestines.
