Hi Girls!

I was wondering where all the Nov mommies were at! It's nice to see some familiar names! I am preggers with twin girls and actually on modified bedrest now due to shortening cervix. I will probably end up being an October mommy! This is my first pregnancy too. Have you all gotten the nursery ready? I am thankful to have registered and gotten my baby furniture before I was put on bedrest, thank God! Are you girls having showers? I have one on 9/7 and 9/20. So excited!

Let's keep this November thread going! Stay healthy mommies!

Hi all! Good to see we are posting again! We are having twin boys, thankfully my pregnancy has been very good until know. We did the 1 hour glucose test and it was a little bit hi, so had to do the 3 hour test and I passed it. Other than that everything has been ok. Have my next u/s on 08/19 can´t wait to see my babies again...
Hope everyone is ok and that we keep posting here...

Hi Girls~!
I post on the Dec moms sometimes and the Double Trouble. I am also preg with twin girls due Dec 15, although my Dr is shooting more for Nov 15. I was happy to see the Nov post pop up again and to see other ladies having twins! I am 22 w, 4 days.
Do you guys have baby names picked out? I dont know why I am having such trouble naming these girls~! All of the books I have been reading suggest naming them and establishing seperate identities...instead of the generic Twin A and B!
Are your preg pretty uneventful as far as preterm labor, etc? And lastly...how are you doing on weight gain?
Looking forward to chatting and thanks for letting me barge in (as if you had a choice!)

I'm so happy to see more posts to the thread and it's great to hear the good news from everyone.

Welcome aboard itsgottawork.

Sara, Ana, and Jen -- twins - how exciting!

I am just amazed at how quickly the nine months is moving along. Our nursery is no where near ready although I have ordered the furniture and the dresser/cahnging table was delivered last week. Unfortunately, the crib is on backorder until mid-September. This weekend, I'm hoping to get the bedding picked out so we can get the handyman in to paint the walls. I'm sure November will be here in no time at all.

We had to wait until week 24 to find out we are having a girl. Once we found out, it felt so much more "real".

Take care everyone and have a great weekend.

Lynn

Jen I have not put up the nursery yet, already painting my crib and my nephew's... and also have the bedding, I already have the idea of what I am going to do...
My baby shower is on 08/23, very soon :D
Sara Hi, welcome to the board, I have picked the names... since I am from Costa Rica, they are latin names: Fabian and Felipe... I have gained about 21 pounds already, don´t know if it is too much but doctor does not seems concerned, and actually these last four weeks my belly has grown so much!
Lynn I am also very excited that our babies are going to be here very soon!!

Hi Ladies!
Oh my, there are a lot of twins on this thread! That is exciting!
Anas - We don't know what we are having. We just know it is only one. If I had to guess, I'd say we are having a boy but I really have no idea. It has been fun trying to guess what we are having but right now, we just call the baby our "little turkey!" I love the names you have chosen!
Lynn, I am with you on the nursery. We have the furniture except the crib which we ordered on Friday. They originally said it would take 10 - 12 weeks and now they are saying it will come in earlier which freaks me out because the painters aren't even starting for another 4 weeks!
Sarahalf - We don't have any names picked out yet. We go back and forth on some and then we just give up. DH said we should probably start focusing on that again though. We typically save that discussion for car trips and other times when we can't do anything else. DH is funny though, he'll sometimes say "If I had to pick a name today, it would be this" And it will be something we never even discussed before. He's big into family names which has not been a tradition for me so it has been challenging coming up with some family names that we both like.
jen8675309 - I think we cycled together in March. Congrats on having twin girls! That is so exciting!!! How long have you been on bedrest for? You are lucky to have your showers so early. I am pretty sure mine isn't scheduled until the first weekend in October!
I hope this thread continues! I get so excited hearing from others going through the same things at the same times!
Oh, one question for folks, have you been able to keep wearing your wedding rings? I haven't had a problem but I do tend to swell when exercising. I saw a pregnant woman at the mall that was wearing hers on a necklace chain and thought that was a neat idea. What are your thoughts?
I hope everyone is having a good week!

Hi Mommies!

Hope everyone is feeling great today! I'm doing good. I went to the dr. last week and my cervix has been "stable" for the past 2-3 weeks, so I am still on modified bedrest, but the dr. told me that I can become more liberal in my activities. Great news! Unfortunately I have severe itching all over my body and my back aches, so I'm not very active anyway!! Anything for these girls! We have names picked out, Madison Jewell and Morgan Julana. Our nursery is basically ready, I need crib bedding, but we have most everything else. I bought 2 bassinetts from a used baby stuff store for $20 each!! I figured I would use the bassinetts in my bedroom when the girls are first born, and then move them to their cribs when they get a little older.

Good to hear from you, itsgottawork! We did cycle together! Isn't it awesome that we are where we are at now?! March seems like so long ago!!! I can still wear my wedding ring, but I don't do much in the way of exercising to sweat or get swollen!! :-)

I have only gained 18 pounds (I was overweight to begin with). It will be interesting to see how much weight I gain from here on out! How much have you girls gained?

Sara- Very cute names you have for your girls! Do you know who you're going to name what?

Ana- How was your u/s? Are the boys ok? I have my glucose test next Monday. I hope all goes well!

Lyn- Congrats on your little girl! Do you have her name picked out yet? It looks like this thread is dominated by little girls!

Take care, girls, and enjoy the day!

Jen - Great news about things being more stable and that you're on modified bed rest now! Sorry to hear about the itching. That can't be fun. Your names are beautiful. A good friend of mine has two lovely daughters and their names are also Madison and Morgan.

I haven't been weighed in four weeks and at that point, I had gained about 14 pounds but I'm only carrying one! I'm sure that number will have increased quite a bit when I go in tomorrow.

Itsgottawork - I am still able to wear my wedding ring although it does tend to get a little more snug as the day progresses. My mom has a family ring that is slightly larger and I've thought about borrowing it if mine gets too small. However, if I wore my ring on my left ankle, that would be another story! There are some days the swelling gets so bad that my calf and ankle are the same size. It looks terrible and feels even worse. Thankfully, it only happens occasionally.

Ana, I'm glad your second glucose test went well. I have one tomorrow. I took one at 12 weeks and had no issues but I guess they also like to test at 28 weeks.

Sara, good luck with the names! We are pretty close to choosing a name -- just can't decide on a middle name. It's between Laila Marie or Laila Rose. Both middle names are family middle names. I lam leaning toward Laila Rose but I worry it sounds a little too "hippie". My husband can't make up his mind either. We keep saying we have plenty of time...

I go in tomorrow for my 28 week checkup. I don't believe we have an ultrasound scheduled and I am bummed. It will be the first appointment we'll have without one.

Some dear friends are hosting a couples shower for us on September 12. I am just amazed by everyone's generosity. It's really touching.

Take care and have a great day!

Hi Folks!
How is everyone doing this last week in August? I am sorry to see the summer ending and the cooler weather coming but I am so ready for a long weekend!
Lynn, Laila is a beautiful name! How did your 28 week checkup go? I have mine next Thursday and can't wait! I always look forward to the dr visits even though they always seem to leave me wanting more. This will be my first glucose test and I have only had 2 ultrasounds this whole time!
I am not super happy with this practice. I am new to it. I love my RE and he recommended this doctor and practice. He said the doctors try to do everything they can do deliver their own patients. That is not what I have found though as I have only met with my actual doctor 2 times and all the other appointments have been with other doctors in the practice so that I can meet all of them and be comfortable with whoever delivers me. Needless to say, I am not really comfortable with any of them but don't feel there is much I can do now as I am already in the third trimester. I think the personalized care would be the same if I went to them or if I went to any emergency room anywhere. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing? It is such a huge change from all the personalized care I got through my RE's office.
Jen, I love the names Morgan and Madison too! They are great individual names and sound really nice together too! I have beat you and Lynn in the weight department. I gained 19lbs at my last appointment and am kind of fearful of how much more there will be next week. I have decided not to worry about it though. I keep telling myself to not even worry about my weight until 12/26 but I think that is easier said than done though. I am pretty tall though so it doesn't show all that much and people are surprised when I tell them the number, so I guess that is encouraging. :)
I hope everyone has a great weekend!!! Happy Labor Day! :)

Sophie,
I was so excited to see your post and read that you are pregnant!!! That is fantastic news. Please keep the group posted. I've been thinking of you and xrayem a lot.

Itsgottawork,
My 28 week appointment went well. It was rather uneventful but that's good news, I suppose. The doctor says the heartbeat sounds nice and strong. I have another appoinment on September 19 and then we move to the more frequent appointments. We'll have the "birth and delivery" discussion then. It's really hard to believe how quickly the time is going. I "failed" my glucose test (I think the nurse said my score was 159 and the safe cutoff point is 130) so I now have the infamous three-hour test on Tuesday. Hopefully, everything will be just fine.

The practice I go to also does the revolving doctor thing. I really like all of the doctors there so I don't have a problem with seeing a new one nearly every visit but I can see where it would be an issue if you have a favorite. I too felt more special at the RE's office but they saw us at least once a week and sometimes 2-3 times a week so I felt like they were family after a while.

I hope everyone is doing well and that you all have a great holiday weekend.

Lynn

Hi Girls ~

Hope everyone is doing well and hopefully no one lives in the gulf right now!

Lynn ~ Sorry to hear about your one hour glucose test. Hopefully all will be ok with your 3-hour, let us know how you do!

Itsgottawork ~ Let us know how your appt goes this week, too! Hope you are doing well.

Sophie ~ Congrats on your pregnancy!

I had a minor setback at my ultrasound appt last Friday. My cervix had shortened from 3.6 two weeks ago to 2.5 on Friday! Yuck! I have to go back to more moderate bedrest again. I will be 28 weeks on Friday, which is a major milestone, next one would be 32, so I am definitely counting down the weeks! Madison is breech and Morgan is transverse, so it's continuing to look more and more like a c-section for me! One good thing, both girls looked good and healthy- Madison is 2 pnds 4 oz and Morgan is 2 pnds 7 oz.

I hope everyone continues to stay healthy! Take care all and enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend!

Hi all,
Sorry I was away for a while, first I got a little bit sick with the flu, and then I have been moving to our new house, I have tried to do it little by little, will definetly move by this wednesday.
I had a little bit of pink discharge, it was very little, but still I am trying to rest a lot...

I had my baby shower last week, it was a lot of fun and I got a lot of nice things...

I will have my 32 week appointment on 09/09, and then two more appointments on 34 and 36 weeks and will set up the c-section for week 37, around october 17... I am so hoping I can carry my babies till then.

Jen: I am sorry about the moderate bedrest, I am on it too, for me it is very hard to do, but we have to do it for the babies :)

Lynn: I had almost the same number, I had 160... I was told the limit was 140... then I passed the 3 hour test, hope you pass it too...

itsgottawork: I hope your 28 week appointment goes great! Keep us posted

Sophie: I am so glad to hear about you, I got very happy when I saw your signature, so nice of you to check up the thread.

Hope everyone is doing great,
Ana

Hi everyone,
It has been a long time indeed since posts. I guess everyone has had their heads down and been kept busy during the last few months. I am 32 weeks on Friday so the time has flown...
going to f'nightly antenatal visits with my ob now, all my tests have been fine except for aneamia, which i am taking extra iron tablets for.
I have insomnia most nights with my little man kicking madly inside of me at around midnight, so i then wake and can't get back to sleep because I have my husband snoring..!! Cant win.
I finish up work next friday so I am so so looking forward to that.
We attended ante natal classes over the weekend, and although having had a child before ( 8 yrs ago) there was some new and interesting information that we learned.
i have a scan scheduled for the 17th sep to see how big bubba is, as my last was 9 pound nine, and if my placenta has moved from the low position it was in, to see whether or not a c-section is on the cards for me, so until then take care and god bless everyone and their babies...
