Hi girls! Thanks to all for checking in on me and my blog. For the family's sake, it is much easier to post updates there. I'm hanging in there though. I am getting so antsy to start feeling better. I want to start getting Abby's room ready and finally do some shopping at Babies R Us, but I just need to get my health back to normal before I do it. This recovery has sucked! Anyways, I am so excited for all of you who are getting close. Just keep 'em cookin a little longer! You are almost there! Sug - are the babies close to coming home? Do you feel like a Mom yet? I don't think it will set in that I am actually a Mom until I have my little girl at home with me.
Corny: You do not feel totally like a mom with them at the hospital. There are days when I am like...oh yeah I do have babies!! Hope you and Abigail are doing great!
Brooke will be home by the end of the week!!! She started all bottle feeds today. They just want to up her feeds a little more. She is at 38 cc and they want her at 45 which will happen by the end of the week as well...She eats in like 5 minutes. Plus they want to maybe change her formula but they can send her home on this. Supposed to help the tummy more? Who knows. But we had to bring the car seat in for her to get her car seat test!! So hopefully Thursday or Friday she will be home!!!!
Little Mackenzie still needs oxygen to eat and they will not send her home till she does not need it. No longer really needs it to breathe but just for feeds. She is still bottling all her feeds but is not as good at it as her sister. She will get better though. It is weird that they did not mature at the same rate in the womb.

Rio and Loopie - You girls look great! Love the tummy pics! You're both so fit. You only look pregnant in the tummy which must be great!
Suga - Hope the girls are doing well. Their photos are adorable.
Corny - Hope you and Abby are both feeling better! Abigail is darling. I just got back from your blog. Amazing how different she looks already! I hope you're recovering well from Friday.
Loopie - Sounds like you're ready! Do you have a set of names that you're going to choose from once you see him?
Jomae - How was DS's birthday?
Gecko - 7 pounds! Did you hear any more from the doc?
Is anyone else having acid reflux? I never had this until I got pregnant. Last night I was up at 2am coughing into the sink. Very yucky.
Weight gain is really coming now. Tummy is getting really big. My hands swelled today, too. Partly the heat but I guess also just par for the course at this point in pregnancy. Oh well, not too much longer to go and I really can't complain too much when I'm just so thankful that the baby is healthy.
I'll post some nursery pics to photobucket. Her room is small (we live in a condo in the city) so if the photos look like pics of furniture that's b/c anyplace you stand in her room is only a few feet away from a piece of furniture! Still, I love it. My favorite room in our condo.
Just wondering...my friend is having her first baby at 35 years and her doc told her that if she doesn't go into labor by 39 weeks that they will induce her at 39 weeks. She said that it's b/c placentas start to break down in "older" Moms. Does that sound familiar to any of you? Kind of struck me as odd.
Mellie - Yep, acid reflux is a way of life now! I have never had it before either and it is really gross! Tums helps just a little.... I haven't got on the scale, but I feel like I have gained a lot of weight just in the last few weeks. I guess that is typical. My belly is HUGE- but that could be because of my butterball baby. My hands and one foot swell pretty regularly too, but it isn't excessive. I hope it stays that way.
Sugabeanzs - Hooray for Brooke coming home!!! I am sure Mackenzie will follow shortly. Then you can concentrate on just being a mom. I am so happy and excited for you.
Cornybaby - You sound like you are really hanging in there. I hope you are on the mend soon and that Abby can come home soon. I am glad she is doing well. I am keeping up with your blog and wish your whole family all the best.
Rio - I am right there with you with the aches and pains. I feel like all I do is complain to DH. The heat wave was really brutal. I am in Redwood City on the Penninsula and it was at least 100 degrees for five days in a row. I was unable to stay hydrated and actually threw up on Friday because I was so miserable. It is 20 degrees cooler today and should stay that way all week so I am much better now!
Loopie - I am exhausted too. It doesn't help that we let the puppy sleep in our bed and I have to get up with him twice a night for potty runs. I guess it is good practice for when the baby comes.
Jomae - Don't worry about the weight gain. I have gained almost 40 pounds so far (and I wasn't small to begin with). Yikes!!!!! I am hoping that at least half of it comes off after delivery and I can exercise the rest off - I've done it before. Hope the birthday party is fun!
I see my doctor after my regular NST tomorrow. She is doing the strep b swab and I am hoping that we will talk about the u/s results. She never called to say that anythng was wrong so that is a good sign. She did mention the possibility of inducing me early if my blood pressure started to rise (so far it hasn't) and I am curious what she will say about the size of my baby. I will keep you all posted! As much as I would love to be done being pregnant, I really want to wait at least 2 more weeks until I am between week 37-38 to deliver. Ideally, I'd like to go into labor naturally but will do whatever is best for the baby.
Gecko - Sorry about your acid reflux, I just have very little of it. I had swollen feet and hands from the heat also, it was hard sleeping at night since our house is not "heat" ready, only "cold" ready! How is the potty training going? Ours is all done! woo-hoo! What a relief! Now onto diapers! Mellie- post some belly pics! You had such a tiny tummy that I doubt you are huge! Sorry about the acid reflux, yuck! I never heard of inducing cause you are over 35, I am curious to what the OB would say about that... Suga- how exciting Brooke will behome! I hope Mackenzie follows very soon, post more pics if you can! Corny you are so brave! I hope you feel better soon and I hope Abby makes huge progress!
What are you girls packing for the hospital, I heard take a nightgown then don't take it cause it will end up dirty...

hi all-
yep- puffy feet and hands, and a bit of the reflux starting to happen to me, too - am peeing all the time now- in fact, while watching the last set of the women's tennis final last night, I peed 5 times!!!!! the bean is sitting right on my bladder, so one stretch or headbutt and it's off to the lavatory for me- i keep thinking it will go away, but then i just keep thinking about it, and off i go!
mellie- what a pretty colour for the room- is the big piece of furniture also a changing table? My friend who is due on the 13th also lives in chicago-
i've not heard of inducing for specifically older mommies- sounds sort of sketchy-, then again, i'd be ok if jr bean was to make an appearance a week early.
suga- soo close to bringing them home, you must be over the moon!!!
corny- that nursery will come together in no time, and Abigail will be home in no time
gecko- ugh! what horrible weather-dehydration is a major risk for us pregger ladies- i try to take a bottle of h2o with me, but i do often forget- and stop worrying about the weight- if doc's not concerned, you shouldn't be either- i'm sure you are right on schedule!
has everyone's belly button popped? mine hasn't yet don't know if it will, either. went out to dinner a couple of times this week- it's nice and all, but then right after, I can't wait to get home and lay down- it's just too uncomfortable to sit with a full belly of food.
Rio- what to pack for delivery - I've been thinking a lot about that- looking up lists on line- it seems like a lot, but it's like camping... you need to bring everything that you might need as well as what you definitely will need....
bring pillows, music (Ipod, CD player w/ speakers etc), aromatherapy (maybe?), birth ball, lotions or massage oil, gown- but not too precious as it will get ruined, robe or similar, slippers, snacks for dh, diaper bag, baby's 1st year health book to peruse for dh, laptop( if your hosp has a connection), camera, phone#s for dh to call everyone, lanisoh for breasts, breast pads nursing bra, sanitary pads for us, toiletries, swaddle blanket, hat, outfit for baby, car seat, comfy clothes for you to go home in,
and for me - a journal or tape recorder for noting things i want to remember & the phone # for sushi delivery!! I keep thinking I should start to gather this stuff, but it still seems too soon- guess I will know when I should.
Hey I am having a busy day washing bottles and getting ready lol...should have done this awhile ago?? So I will do personals later ladies!!
Well, tonight I have to stay in the hospital to "nest" with Brooke and then tomorrow afternoon she will get to come home!! So no more sleep for me! So I get to see how "mommy" I can be! Mackenzie still has awhile there.
Mackenzie is almost off her oxygen!! She really does not need it anymore except when she eats. Little thing does not have the suck, swallow, breathe thing down. She just does not breathe! Too hungry to worry about it lol. She will eventually work it out though. It just makes me happy that she has her breathing under control now and does not need anything. So hopefully here in a few days they will be able to take her off of it totally even during feeds. She is 5lbs 2 oz now; finally slowed down on gaining because they took her IV out. Brooke is 4lbs 8 oz. They are both eating about 2oz now!! They are my little chuggers! Hopefully Mackenzie passes her hearing test today...we shall see!!
So now I have to protect Brooke from germs the best I can because they again scared the crap out of me when they talked about the RSV virus. So people who come over will get the 20 questions from me! No sniffles, no sneezing, no coughing, no kids, etc. And there will be a hand sanitation area lol.

Rio- The perineal massage is done by having your partner( i treid alone and i could reach my vagatta!, belly to big) have himput some vitamin e oil or pure oilve oil on his thumbs and take both his thumbs insert them in the vagatta about an inch and massage the begining of the cervix by pulling down toward the perinieal it hurts at first but its strectching the area like the baby would do. After about a week it stops hurting and you become use to it that it feels goo! and may arouse you! and lately ive been so tired so hubby and i dont have sex like we used too... but this normally kicks into high gear. We do the massages every other night for about 2 min...
Loopie, Im tired too! but the difference between this tiredness and the 1st trimester tiredness is when i was in the 1st tri i was so tired i just feel asleep. now im so tired that im restless! and i cant fall asleep but i just want to stayin the bed and eat butter peacan icecream and watch law and order!
Mellie- I never had acid reflux or heartburn until i became pregnant and it is in full swing! my throat burns somuch sometime that in the middleof the night i wake up becus its so unbearable! uggg. drink a small glass of cold milk, it normally stabnilizes your tummy...Also the only goodthing about acid reflux is the if it starts tapering off that may mean your belly has drop and you know have that extra room between your belly and stomach which mean that soon labor will be here!
Suga.... What a wonderful treat yo have your babies home,im completely jealous! i fantasize about my baby( how silly)! i picture her hear! I went to the doc at 32 weeks and doc said she was only 3bs... i should be almos 5lbs now..I know she seems small all other post i read at 32 weeks baby is supposed to be 4lbs..mmm .. as long as she is healthy! ill ask him for an update on monday at my 35 weeks check up...
My showeris this weekend snd im so excited...to get it over and done with! lolol.. I dont see where i will get the energy to entertain 60-70 people! uggg! and i have lamaze in the morning from 10-1,a hair appt at 2pm and the shower is from 3-8, ill show up around 4..and i hope i make it 4 hours!
i hope everyone is feeling well and resting up for the big day!....
omg mbre- you need not feel like you need to entertain all of those folks- just arrive, be the belle of the ball, and leave when you feel tired- it is a party for you and dh and baby- after all!! especially since aunty decided to do this soo late!!!!!!! and let us know the fun stuff you get!
and yes- agreed- restless is the word
the massage sounds fun- after the hurting part, that is...
have a doc appt today, not sure if i am starting to have contractions in my back or not- guess everything is fine-
all for now
Hi Mommies! I just wanted to drop in and touch base. It looks as though all of you are doing well.
DH and I survived the hurricane fine. We went to my fathers office which was very safe. So DH and I both got what we wanted. He stayed in town and I was in a safe place. It was sheer chaos after. My parents didn't have electricity for 4 days, but our condo did. So we would sleep at the condo and shower at their house. Good thing we only live 1 mile away from each other. DH ended up not working at all last week because of damage to his job site. So it really gave him time to finish up the remodeling. And we are finally back home. The drop in barometric pressure did take its toll on me. Sunday night before the hurricane I had several contractions and Tuesday after the hurricane you could notice that I had started to drop. When I went to the OB at 32 weeks he told me that if I went into labor at 34weeks he wouldn't stop it. The baby has measured 2weeks ahead since week 13. So, I'm ready to roll with this baby! If I had any control over it, I would prefer to deliver the 1st week of October (37 weeks). We'll see.
I'm very jealous of all of you right now. You all seem so organized and ready. I haven't packed, I don't own one bottle or diaper! The only thing I have done is wash all of Gavins clothes and bedding. Hell, we don't even have the co-sleeper, crib, or pack and play here yet. I think that's on the list of things to accomplish this week. I know I will be a sight when I go into labor. Trying to scramble around doing last minute things.
I hope all of you have a great week.
~peace

weezie: Glad you made it! And you make me laugh, you need to get some bottles and blankets lol.
Mellie: No reflux for me, but I did not get to where they were huge, try propping up on a pillow at night and do not lie down for like an hour after you eat...eat small meals.
Count down less than a few hours for Brooke to get here. Last night I stayed with her...maybe 2 hours of sleep? She is noisy so she kept me awake...and I know now that she cries lol. I never heard her when we visited but she knows how!

First IVF Jan 2008 Twin girls!
Hey Guys
I've been on the hospitals case this week and finally my record from my old hospital have arrived i have to wait till monday for my appointment to see whats in it but non the less plans can finally be made i'm still nervous about a vbac but think it will be better in the long run. my sister had her little boy via c-section 2 days ago and although very sweet it brought back all the memories of struggleing to know what to do as a first time mum and has made me feel nervous all over again about how i will cope i'm not looking forward to that part at all. Anyway what can i do
My belly is getting bigger and movements more intense bub is flipping from the right to the wrong position all week i had been advised to not lean backwards at all to help her turn but i think she still has alittle room to move as she keeps changeing mind you my back is now killing me from not being able to lay back and rest properly but i'd rather be uncomfortable now than to have a more difficult labour because she is prosterier no swelling here i usually swell after bub arrives i don't know why that is but i had cankles on cankles after ds arrived for atleast two weeks after and yes the acid reflux or heart burn which ever it is i'm there suffering with you all mylanta works great thankfully. I'm finally starting to get bubs room organized and everything washed and ready to go i found some great maternity bras there bonds brand if you've heard of them there even more supportive than my regular bras which is good especially for us more blessed ladies.
Suga great news on brooke coming home and by the sounds kenzie will be shortly following well done girls
Corny sending good vibes your way for Abigail and yourself to keep improving i hope all is well
Mellie thanks for asking we didn't have a birthday party as such but had relative visiting all day long bringing gifts and spending time with him so it was a good day all round
Weezie glad you guys are ok how did your house fair. you sound as organized as me i have the furniture but nothing set up and i'm just starting to wash clothes and find out the other things i may need but atleast i've started i just need to keep on it
I don't know about you ladies but i'm starting to have those feelings perhaps nesting instincts where i need to make sure everything is organized and am constantly worrying i'll go into labour early with nothing done and have to rely on dh to do it for me which couldn't be agood thing so yes i'm beginning to pull my finger out and get amove on.
Mbre hope you have a great shower sit back and let them spoil you i say all 70 of them
I hope everyone else is well and not to uncomfortable remember not much longer to go isn't it funny we've all been chatting for almost a year and some longer
