IVF Sept

Post by firstdiamond »

I will say lots of prayers for you all. I had a transfer done a week ago. In my 2ww. I had to use donor eggs though. I've been trying for over 10 years to have a baby with my current husband but this is my first attempt at IVF.

Newbie to the boards...

Post by Michl75 »

We have been TTC for 2 yrs now and I have always just lurked the boards, but decided why not post something. So we are just starting back to all of this, and are hoping for good results. I believe the time that it worked was because we did a 5dt instead of a 3dt, but of course, I am no Dr. so who knows. The first IVF cycle we did a long lupron cycle and a 3dt and got a BFN we had 9 total embies to freeze and then we did a few FET's with them that resulted in the same thing...BFN. So then RE decided maybe we should try another fresh cycle, but change the protocol to a short (Flare) lupron cycle and do a 5dt which worked! When we went in for our first u/s we could not find any hearbeats but were able to see the sacs on the screen...we would have had identical twin girls, but had to have a D&C due to no heatbeats. We had them tested and found nothing wrong...just unlucky apparently...I was of course crushed and didnt know if I could even continue this journey, but I really want to be a mommy, so I got myself back together and tried our last FET which resulted in another BFN which I had already prepared myself for since none of the other cycles we tried with the original embies worked (I believe it was due to the 3dt as opposed to 5dt) Anyway, I could ramble all day about everything we have been through, but I will just stop with this.
We are just getting started on our next adventure of doing another fresh IVF cycle in hopes of having our little miracle. I will keep you posted as we go along this journey together. I wish you all the best of luck on your cycles and pray we all get our miracles we are hoping for.

Baby dust to you all...

Michelle

Hi Ladies!

I too will be joining you Sept/Oct baby makers. I am planning a FET for the week of Oct 12th. We have 4 frozen embryos, (2) 3 day and (2) 5 day. My RE wants to transfer the (2) 5 day. We did our 1st IVF in June which ended in a chemical pregnancy. It was very hard for us. I just retreated and went back to work. Now we are ready for round 2. I begin my Lupron on the 15th. I am a little nervous since I just began my BCPs on the 8th. Hopefully everything will work out. Anyway, this is a great place for support!

Love, Luck and Baby Dust to all!

I feel like such a newbie

DH and I have been TTC for 3 1/2 years off and on. We found out pretty early it was MFI and I was not ready for IVF. We adopted our DS from Russia in Dec 06, and shortly afterwards went back to the clinic to try "natural" IVF (where they just use the egg I naturally ovulate).

First attempt was cancelled due to one of the doctors giving me Ganirelix too early and stopping the growth of the egg.

Second cycle, I ovulated too early.

Third cycle they actually WATCHED the follicle collapse on an u/s an hour before the retrieval.

The next day we applied to adopt again and brought home our gorgeous DD from Kyrgyzstan 5 1/2 months later.

We decided to give natural one more try and this time I actually made it to retrieval, but alas, no fertilization even with ICSI.

Now we have finally gone for the good stuff. I just had my retrieval today and they got 20 eggs (funny because I was told I had 14 on Sunday, then at my pre-op it only looked like 6 or 7 viable, so this was a surprise). They are doing ICSI to 1/2 and I should know tomorrow how many fertilized. If we actually DO a transfer this time around, pg test is Oct 2.

I'm 28 and DH is 36. We're praying for the best but we are very thankful for the little blessings we already have.

I found out today that of the 20 eggs, 17 were mature and 16 fertilized. They did ICSI to all. I was pretty shocked as I was expecting a lot less. I guess we'll see how they develop from here.

My doctor automatically schedules day 3 transfers and then switches it to day 5 if enough look good. I am thinking that with so many we will be doing day 5, which would be Sunday. I'll know for sure Friday morning.

24, that's fantastic! Good luck to you!

IVF Friends

Post by babyhope1 »

Hello! I want to join you all on this journey. I have recently (6 wks ago) had a miscarriage of twins conceived through my third attempt at IUI. It was devistating because they died at different times and going through it all twice was painful. Not to mention the postpartum depression x 2. So here I am starting IVF for the first time 2 years into our journey. I am 31, DH is 34 and we have been married for 6 years. I had weekly blood tests for my HCG levels...and finally am down to 6...good enough to move forward with sticking needles in myself.

I started BC pills last night, will start Lupron on the 29th...ER around the 21 of Oct and ET around the 24th of Oct.

Hey Ladies. Do you mind if i join? I have also been lurking around the board the last couple of months but only started posting recently. I am going through my first FET. Did 3 IUIs last year and two IVFs this year. All of course negative. Did a laparoscopy in june and hoping that i am now all cleaned up :D Started my del estrogen shots last night. Not fun :( Will be starting my PIO shots next week if the lining is good and ET is scheduled for 10/3 if everything goes as planned. Keeping my fingers cross as we only have one little embie frozen from the last cycle but have to use it first before i start a fresh cycle because i'm in the shared risk program. Also started accupuncture this time. So hope it helps.

Babyhope1, really sorry about your loss. I cannot even imagine what you must be going thru. Wishing lots of baby dust to you and everyone else!
