I feel like such a newbie
DH and I have been TTC for 3 1/2 years off and on. We found out pretty early it was MFI and I was not ready for IVF. We adopted our DS from Russia in Dec 06, and shortly afterwards went back to the clinic to try "natural" IVF (where they just use the egg I naturally ovulate).
First attempt was cancelled due to one of the doctors giving me Ganirelix too early and stopping the growth of the egg.
Second cycle, I ovulated too early.
Third cycle they actually WATCHED the follicle collapse on an u/s an hour before the retrieval.
The next day we applied to adopt again and brought home our gorgeous DD from Kyrgyzstan 5 1/2 months later.
We decided to give natural one more try and this time I actually made it to retrieval, but alas, no fertilization even with ICSI.
Now we have finally gone for the good stuff. I just had my retrieval today and they got 20 eggs (funny because I was told I had 14 on Sunday, then at my pre-op it only looked like 6 or 7 viable, so this was a surprise). They are doing ICSI to 1/2 and I should know tomorrow how many fertilized. If we actually DO a transfer this time around, pg test is Oct 2.
I'm 28 and DH is 36. We're praying for the best but we are very thankful for the little blessings we already have.
