kelly - How exciting!!!! I can't wait to hear that your babies are born. Please update us when you can. I can't believe that you have not been tempted to find out the sex. I couldn't stand the suspense! Take care. I think I will be having my baby very soon. I am having lots of contractions and the doctor is thinking about inducing me around week 39 which is in two weeks, so perhaps I will be next after you! I am very curious how your inducing goes. I have heard that it can be difficult, but I am totally willing to do it. I'm with you, the sooner the better. I am really uncomfortable with the not so little butterball I am carrying.....

WOO HOO KELLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2 days until you meet the twins!!! so amazing- why do they recommend early delivery for twins? - wish i was having twins right now, things are getting tougher, and i'm getting ready for my bean to be out, too! - but 5 weeks isn't too long.... best wishes for a safe, calm and pain-free delivery- i am sure you can do it! STAR!!!!!!!! and 4.5- 5.5lbs sounds perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

does this mean then all of our multi mommies will have had their babies?

jomae- hip hip hooray for your excellent chances of a vaginal delivery- that is great news

gecko- still the placenta issue is what may lead to induction? how do they know if it is breaking down, or is it just a theory/somewhat normal?

suga- how are those babies? any idea when mackenzie may be able to come home? how's the sleep going? I can only imagine how heartbreaking those little tears and crying must be-

corny- how's abigail? how are you?

rio- our calendar girl- you are so great keeping us up to date on everyone- and at 190- you must be very tall,in your pix you look tiny!!( except for the belly, which is, of course, fantastic!)

got a PM from Tammy- she's well and will be updating us soon on her goings on- can't wait to hear.

i know- lots of questions for you ladies, but I want to know!!!

oh, and anyone have a sling she likes? I am trying to find one to use and need suggestions
whoa- bean is really jostling around in there right now!
i'm at school, so got to go- but me and my puffy feet will be back on soon

cheers!!!

Kelly- I'm so thrilled! I was thinking about you this morning. It's been a while since you posted. Good luck Wednesday :D

Jomae- I hope that you will get to have a vaginal delivery. Seems like your chances are pretty good.

Rio- I love the pics. Your belly is huge! And you don't look 190. If it makes you feel better I'm tipping the scales at 204! Sorry that the evil ex and SD are so rotten. But we knew this would happen, right? Ours turned in DH to the Attorney General for non payment of child support. Bogus charges. And without investigating, they are garnishing his wages (39K). So of course we had to hire an attorney in Houston, have the bank research and make copies of all our past payments, set a court date, etc... And she told the skids she's doing this because of the new baby! Typical trash!

Corny- how are you and Abigail? Hope all is well

Suga- are you getting any more rest? How's Mac?

Gecko- 2x a week! It sounds like you will deliver shortly after Kelly. I hear you about the not sleeping. I've been getting up at about 2:30 too. Then I finally fall back out around 6:30 and get a couple of more hours in.

Loopie- I've got the puffy feet too! I hate it. All of a sudden my feet just ballooned over night. I can only wear some Croc sandles. It looks just lovely with my dresses! I'm glad you heard from Tammy. I was beginning to wonder about her.

Katie- I hope you are doing well. I heard your area was pretty damaged. I can only assume that you are without power. I hope that changes very soon. How did the baby do during the Hurrincane? For Gustav, mine was very active for about 3 days.

I went to the OB last week and had my NST. Baby Gavin moved 12x in about 30 minutes and I never felt a thing. I only had one tiny contraction the whole time. This week I will get my StrepB swab and a vaginal exam. I'm still only having about 2 contractions a day. So I hope that the baby decides to stay put until the first week of October. We finally got 1 box of diapers, the crib and co-sleeper set up, and 1 set of bottles. It's not much I know, but it's a start. I've finally packed, I got the birth announcements and plan on addressing the envelopes this week. And I have made and frozen several meals. I plan on making and freezing about 12 dozen cookies (rolled and ready to bake) today. I figured it would be nice to treat DH every now and then to some hot homemade cookies. I'd hate for him to feel neglected  But I still need to get my hair cut, and get a pedi. And my prenatal yoga starts back up tomorrow. So I really hope he decides to stay put for a few more weeks. Like a have a say in the matter, huh?

I've visited photobucket and I absolutely love all the pics!!!!!

Wow I can not believe that some more moms are on the way! WOOHOO!

Kelly: CONGRATS! I am glad that you got that far with twins! I am jealous!!! I can not wait for you to meet them!

Jomae: Good luck with the vaginal! I hope all goes well.

Mackenzie had another Brady last night so that bought her another week. UGH! I want her to be better when she comes home but I want her home now! I mean they are not due till October 8th and that is when they said to expect them home so...I guess I have to be patient. Last night was HORRIBLE! I ran out of her regular formula (Forgot to go get more for some sleepy reason?! Who knows! Brain fart!) So I had to use this other kind and she spit up the whole night and cried! So first thing this morning I went and bought 4 cans of her normal stuff. So I had to take a nap this afternoon because I would not make it the rest of the day. Poor baby.

Ok, I have only lost 6 lbs since their birth...UGH! I really need to get out and exercise but it is almost impossible or I am just plain tired! I want to fit into my clothes again!!! Starvation sounds like a cure lol.

I just wanted to share a website with all of you. It has some printable visual flash cards for our babies. This was something that interested me very much at my "Infant Stimulation Class". The actual 11x16 bound cards are impossible to find. But I thought that something is better than nothing and I've downloaded and printed the cards. I plan on getting them laminated tomorrow.

Here's the site.

Wow - lots going on! We had a weekend full of drama and crying for Skid. DH keeps calling her on treating us like poopoo. Then drama. He is such a great dad and it is her loss for treating him like dirt. I wish we could give her to her mom for more time alone. Luckily DH and I are super tight and we do not let her ruin what we have or our excitement for the baby! Bean has been moving a bunch and I even "played" with him the other day talking to him and trying to poke what I thought was a foot, he kept poking it out like 15 times everytime I did that! Was sooo cute! I can't wait to see the little guy's face! I am still getting NST once a week then u/s next week. It is crazy to think he can come any time now - or just take his sweet time and come later!!! :) The nursery is close enough to being ready! I also can't wait to have a huge warm brownie Sundae after the GD is gone!!!! I am having random contractions, nothing regular enough.

Suga- they say it takes 9 mos to put it on and 9 mos to get it down again so don't be too hard on yourself. I am surte just the day to day stuff is hard right now, it will come off! I hope Mackenzie makes it home soon, you will have your hands full! At least you will have practiced with Brooke! Keep the tips coming!
Corny- how is Abby? I hope you are recovering quickly!
Weezie- I cannot believe how evil those people are! What makes people try to ruin other people's happiness? I just really don't get it! I am so sorry your evil DH ex is also out to get you, the only bright side is you have a long stretch without skids around! I hope it gets resolved soon, I am sorry! I am with you that my shoes don't fit anymore! Same pair of sandals every day! Rain or shine! Good job freezing meals and even cookies! You are so good! I plan on doing take out! I hope bean waits for due date also!!!
Loopie- 5 weeks will go by fast! I am 5'9" so that helps a little with the 190 lbs but I sure can stand to lose a bunch after baby, I want to go through IVF again (fresh) in about 10 mos and I don't want to start too high on weight. I heard wonders about the baby bjorn and we got two handed down to us, great for newborns all the way up to 1 year. My riends tried many others and hated them. I also have a hand me down infantino carrier that looks like a side bag. When are you going to stop working? It is getting really tought to get through the day now! Oh and how do you plan on introducing baby to pooch?
gecko - great to hear from you! Wow you could be a mommy in 2 weeks! wow! I haven't had painful contractions yet, sorry you are so uncomfortable! How can they tell if the placenta is deteriorating or not? I only do my NST once a week. I hope everything goes really well! Keep us posted!
Kelly- wow - keep us posted! My wishes for a smooth delivery and healthy twins, I can't believe you resisted finding out the genders! Good luck!!!!
Jomae- good news on being able to have a VBAC! Have you decided yet? How was going through IVF with a baby? I plan on going back to ivf (fresh cycle) after breastfeeind and was wondering how it was with all the meds and a baby!!! I cannot for the life of me figure out the baby's position, I am amazed you can! Don't stress out about caring for baby and DS, I heard the second is much easier! You will have your hands full, no doubt, but you will do great!
Katie - hope all is well with you in TX, keep us posted!

Rio and Loopie - As I understand it, with older moms the placenta can basically stop functioning correctly earlier. I am not sure why. In addition, taking high blood pressure meds or having undiagnosed high blood pressure can also damage the placenta causing less oxygen and nutrition to reach the fetus. They can easily check this with the NST. It measures the heartrate which in turn lets them know if the baby is getting enough oxygen. They also did a growth scan on the baby at week 35 to make sure he was large enough. If the placenta is compromised, the baby is frequently smaller. If the placenta starts to deteriorate they will usually induce or do a c-section right away. That is why I am being monitored so frequently and so far so good!

Today is my last day of work. Hooray!!! I am really tired of high school students right now......... Because I am having some painful Braxton Hicks contractions combined with period cramps and back pain, my doctor felt I should no longer be on my feet all day teaching. I am really glad to be able to have some rest for however long I have left until delivery. I hope it is soon.....

Kelly - Good luck tomorrow! :D

Gecko - Hooray w/being done with work!

Rio - 5'9''? That explains it. I didn't think you looked like you could weigh 190. You look great! Very trim. Just a tummy that looks pregnant. I'll try to post a belly pick soon. Somehow I don't really want to see myself in print  but I suppose I'll want to have it someday. DH took one of me this weekend and I was somehow surprised. You'd think I would have a sense of how big I am but I obviously have been deceiving myself

Suga - Yeah, weight loss is tough. I'm not looking forward to it. Still 6 pounds is 6 pounds! You're moving in the right direction.

Weezie - You're so sweet to your DH! Making him cookies is such a nice gesture. I don't think I'll be doing that. If there's cookie dough in the house my husband and I know who will end up eating it...me

Loopie
- I don't know about the slings. A friend of mine whose baby is too big now gave me 3 of hers but until there's a baby in there I just can't tell if one is better than the other. ATM, I'm not even sure how to get the thing on.

We had a little party this weekend. 11 friends over for food and wine. It was fun. DH called it the "last hoorah" before the baby arrives. It was good to get a chance to see everyone and entertain.

For those of you who have had them...what do Braxton Hicks feel like? And, for those of you who have had a baby before how are they different from early labor?

Also, is anyone else having kind of period-like cramps? I get little aches from time to time that feel like right before my period comes. Just wondering if that was normal.

Mellie: Really it is hard to tell the difference between the two contractions. Braxton hicks have no rhythm to them. With labor, they come in patterns and you can time them. HOWEVER I did not have regular contraction and I was in labor. So if it starts to hurt, if there is a lot of pressure down there, etc go in and get checked. It was hard to tell for me.

Mackenzie may be coming home this weekend! I am freaking out now because it means a lot of work. Honestly, this is odd, but I do not know what to do with them when they are awake! I talk to them and sing but they are so little they do not want to be on a play mat or anything...so hopefully soon they will want to play because I am at a loss at the moment lol.

I know there is a lot of controversy around this book but I am going to follow Baby Wise because a lot of the nurses have said how great it is and how it really work especially for moms with multiples it is great. SO I am going to give it a try.

Mellie I am also surprised whenever I see a picture or go by a mirror, I just think it can't be me! THe other funny thing is I lose perspective on how big it is and I keep running into everything with my belly! What a fun idea to have a last hoorah, you are brave, i am too tired to clean up after anyone right now ;) I think I am having Braxton Hicks, first I think the baby is moving in a slow way, then it gets really tight and I realize it is a contraction, sometimes my heart races, it is mildly painfull but not bad. I am also having period like cramps. I guess as long as there is no blood, nothign comes in at regular intervals and you are not leaking amnio fluids, you should be fine. I find myself now checking for baby movement all the time, I am starting to get nervous about him being born healthy and well... I guess we never stop worrying now!
Suga- you are too cute trying to figure out what to do with them, I am sure we will all be the same way since they are not very interactive the first couple of months, my friend (guy) who just had a baby described his little boy as a little amoeba so far ;) Very exciting you will have your two girls home! Happy Dance! Image
Kelly- we are here waiting to hear from you, good luck!!!!!
Gecko - thanks for the explanation, I am starting to worry about this placenta thing too, I get one NST every week. So glad they took you off of work! I wish I could stay home at this point too! Next week and counting!

Post some new pics girls! Nursery, pooches, anything! :)

Sorry, it's been a while since I posted. Looks like everyone is hanging in there. Congrats to Kelly!

Well, I don't think I will be an Oct mommy. I have been going to the doc twice a week for an NST since week 32. I had a visit with the perinatal doc last week and got to see her on 3-D. It was really cool. She weighs 6 lbs and her fluid and blood flow was within normal paramaters.

The reason I am monitored so closely is due to my gestational hypertension. Fortunately, I do not have protein in my urine, so it hasn't turned to preeclampsia. As most of you know, I have a c-section scheduled for Oct 8th (I will be 39 weeks). I look for him to take her prior to this. Last week he said he was ready to "bail out" and on Monday he stated again that we probably wouldn't make it to 39 weeks (started out on 2 pills a day, now I take 2 different kinds for a total of 14 pills a day). As of last Thursday, I am maxed out on bp meds so if it continues to climb, they are going to go ahead and take her. I just want to make it at least one more week to be considered full-term.

Good luck to everyone.

Abigail graduated to the healthy baby room! They are no longer considering her a "sick" baby. She started her feeds 8 days ago and is already more than half way to full feeds. Once she gets there they will start to bottle feed. She weighs 2 pounds 13 ounces now! She's doing just great and they think we will be able to bring her home even before she has her colostomy bag removed. Maybe as soon as 5 weeks or so! I put a picture from yesterday on the bucket. She will be one month old this Sunday. I can't even believe it...time is flying by.

Yay for Kelly! I hope the c-section went smooth yesterday. The rest of you...hang in there. Your time is coming soon!

Just came back from the OB, after NST he took me for ultrasound, the baby is measuring at 41 wks! 8lbs! And I am 36 1/2 weeks. Oh and baby is head up, completely breeched. So chances are I will have a C section on the 2nd or 3rd of October but he said I am having lots of contractions and doesn't know if I will make it till then. Will post more later, I am still digesting the info!
