Dear all,
Just came back for a 3 hours journey of extra work. Time to put my feet up and check in!
Stefanie, I'd like to know where you are on your pregnancy...how many weeks? I hope you are doing OK by now. You are carrying weight and working full time...well, I have been reading and checking with my doctor and it seems that physical and emotional stress are directly correlated with prematurity and other not so pleasant events (just check rates of neoatal mortality of low-income single mothers ...it is so sad). I have purchased a rolling cart for my computer/stuff and, I am taking it easy (feet up twice a day, afternoon nap). My doctor told me not to lift anything heavier than to 5 to 7 pounds. DH is loosing weight

doing all the chores!
SilverAngel, what a beautiful name! I love Elizabeth Paige! It is so strong and still romantic. Sorry for the disgusting glucose exam. Hope results come back OK with no repeats any time soon.
Carisa, good luck choosing the names. I am calling the choices aloud, pretending the child is far away, or that I am a bit annoyed with him/her...so I can explore the nuances of the name. I also imitate the voice of a teacher calling their names in middle school - with their last names. For now, it has eliminated everything with G. (first letter of my last name). Paige has my vote, too!
Kimmysq, sorry about your scare! We IVFers are so much more prone to freak-out episodes! It has been almost a month since my last spotting and I am still afraid of looking at the toilet paper after wiping myself. Hope things are OK now. Pain in the back can be also explained by the hormones alterning the way our hip bones connect (we are literally "opening up") to make like easier for the baby.
Hi Gennessa! First, let me ask that...what is a small pony? Is it a body pillow? I am thinking about buying on (thanks Silverangel) but for now I am using three pillows - plus DH for extra support.
I really think you should ask for a referral and see a nutricionist, log your food intake and change things radically (unless you are retaining more water than it would be expected or you have lowered metabolism for things such as hypothireoidism). Obese women do face greater challenges and doctors do not "loose time" with us helping us with figuring out what to eat. I hope you get some help and start feeling better about your weight gain!
In my case, I am strugglig with the opposite problem: M/S plus food aversion (no chicken, meat or fish) plus sudden attacks of hunger...that saciates with much less food than before. I have gained only 6 pounds so far (after finding the wonderful taste of melted goat cheese on Italian bread...and ice cream/waffle sandwiches).
Wishing every one a nice, REST-FULL weekend. Seriously!
