Congratulations Tammy! Hoping your NICU stay is short, which it sounds like it will be. :D Post pictures when you can!

Wow, everyone is getting SO close. I still can't believe Abby will be 5 weeks old this weekend, and yet she is still the smallest one in her NICU room. She's doing great though. Up to 3 pounds 2 ounces and may try the bottle for the first time today. If not today, then Monday. They say once she gets on the bottle time will fly and she will be home before we know it. As little as 3 weeks! (That's in a perfect world...it could take her longer to learn to bottle feed). We don't have anything at home either. Just a few outfits and blankets we've been given. But since I never got to have my shower we don't have anything. I better at least get some diapers and a carseat! And one of these days we need to put the nursery together. I am just so darn scared to do anything. I don't know why because at this point, she's here and I know she's coming home. It's just that every time this past summer we talked about it, something terrible happened. Anyways, enough about that. DH is off Tue-Fri next week, so maybe we will start the nursery then.

I am SO excited for everyone! It's just a matter of time before all of our October babies will be here. :D

Tammy- CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so happy for you. I will say a little prayer that Zachary comes home soon.

Hey Ladies! I can't post much today. I'm very nauseous. I was sick early last night and woke up at 3a with contractions. Nothing regular. Just bad ones. Then at 9a I wanted to scratch the paint off the walls my contraction was so bad. But again. Nothing regular. I suppose I will stay in bed for the rest of the weekend and try and to hold out till Wednesday. I'm obsessed with having an October baby! But I seriously don't think I will make it.

Have a great weekend and take care of yourselves

Hi Mommas!

hope the rest of the lot is actually going to hang on until OCTOBER!!  it's just a few more days, after all

Just a bit of grumbling.... random contractions, getting a bit listless, I want to do stuff around the house (like the chair I need to upholster so i have somewhere to nurse and rock) but I just can't seem to get it together... dh and I tore up my in house studio so I can make room to work- it's been a storage spot since we did the floors this summer, but now everything is out around the house making it look really cluttered-grrrrrrr - i'm sure i'll get it figured out at some point, or maybe the cleaning faeries will come and do it
either way, feeling like the weather- dull, tired, gray, and rainy (we got over 4inches yesterday alone! )

Kelly- any news??
Tammy- how are you and Zachary feeling? are you home?
Rio- is today the day????
Suga- any sleep?
Gecko- just a few more days!
katie-woo hoo- no more work- sit back and relax- you deserve it!
weezie- are you hanging in there? sorry for the pain, but baby will be here in no time, and you'll be all zenned out - do they recommend that you do anything? I think I'd have a glass of wine and try to get as comfy as possible until they really started regularly

be safe and happy birthdays to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, I need my girls to get on the same eating schedule it is killing me at night! Plus, they are so constipated (formula maybe) and the prune juice just gives them gas which makes them fussy. So I think I might just have to go and get them a suppository to help push things along a little. TMI but their poop is like modeling clay when they can actually push it out.

Little rant: last night I just had a break down because my husband and I were being so mean and rude to one another. He just kept giving me mean looks at asking him to help with some things then I was growing resentful of him because he got to sleep through the night. Plus, we literally have not made time for one another so that does not help. So in my crying fit last night we talked about how we need to spend more time with one another or the marriage will not work. It is amazing how much you love your little ones no matter how tired but at the same time you are like...crap what did we do! These are ours for the rest of eternity! So ladies, make sure you make time with your hubbies to make it work!

I went and bought running shoes yesterday and I am going to start Weight Watchers in a week (after all the junk is out of the house...lol one more week of eating the "good" stuff!) so hopefully the baby weight and fertility treatment weight will fall off here soon.

Good luck with all the babies that are coming to join us soon!!!

sug- I am guessing we are all on that precipice whether babies are in our bellies our out already.
I have been cranky and feeling a bit alienated from dh the past few days myself- seemed like for a while there, we were in perfect synchronicity, and now we're sort of off the mark from one another - but then again, it's been a long year so far, and with the change of season thrown in the mix, we're apt to have our ups and downs. Hoping you and dh have a bit more time together to get that team spirit back!
Do you have family or good friends nearby that can give you a bit of a break for a minute?
My mom and dad adopted my twin sisters when they were just 6 weeks old, she barely had a diaper at the house when they arrived as it was sudden (they were not at the top of the list, but the other families ahead of them were not interested in twins), luckily, she had both grandmothers who were able to assist, and it made all the difference. She tells me - 3 years later, as a surprise, I came along and it seemed like a breeze to only have one mouth to feed!

keep your chin up, I know you are doing a great job- much better than you think! (given that you've not slept since August  )

cheers!

Thanks loopie. Yeah I am sure it will start to get easier. I wish we had family closer. All the friends we have have kids and no kids are allowed around ours so it is hard to get someone to come watch them for a bit. But my mom will be up here in a week for a few days so that will be nice and Nick and I will go have a date night or something. It is just amazing how it is not about you any more and I think that is hard to deal with. I mean it is totally worth it and you knew it was not going to be about you any more but when they are here and it is reality it is a little different.

Tammy - CONGRATULATIONS! Hope all is well. My best friend's son is named Zach and I think that's a darling name. Can't wait to see pics!

Jomae - That's great that you aren't retaining water. I have started to do that. Anytime I walk for very long my fingers swell. At my last dr's appt I weighed myself in the am like always and noticed that I'd gained 3.5 pounds since I weighed myself before my previous appt two weeks prior. When I got to the dr's office they weighed me and said I had gained 8 pounds since my last appt  Fortunately, I knew that most of that was water b/c I have been keeping track of my weight first thing in the morning, but still I was pretty shocked that I could acquire so much water so quickly.

An early Happy Birthday to Katie on the 16th!

Rio - I had to laugh when you said that you forget how big your tummy is. When I walk out of the bathroom stall at work I keep bumping my tummy with the door ! I just keep forgetting to account for all this tummy! As for your question, I think we'll go for a new cycle. We have 1 frozen blast graded 5BA out of 6AA. I am very concerned about going through a fresh cycle soon b/c of my diagnosis and I will turn 38 next May which is when we'll probably be doing this. I had a big struggle getting to retrieval between a cancelled cycle and 2x failing to suppress on bcp, so I want to get that cycle going as soon as possible.

You must be so excited for Thursday! I'm so happy for you that you're about to meet your little one!

Loopie - If those cleaning fairies show up please send them over here next! I could use them.

Weezie - Sounds like you're on your way! So any stomach hardening is a contraction? How can you tell the difference between a stomach hardening b/c of a contraction and a hardening b/c the little one is sticking his or her body out far? Did you talk to your dr? Any news?

Gecko - So you're about to get a date for inducing! That will be nice to know. Glad to hear all's well.

Katie - Glad to hear all's well with Parker. Guess he likes it in there and isn't in a hurry to change his living quarters.

Corny
- So Abigail is starting the bottle soon? That's great! I can imagine it would be hard to start doing nursery stuff w/all you've been through. But once you get started it's incredibly fun. My mentor in grad school did research on preemies and I remember working on a follow-up study (when the babies were age 18 years) of some of the former "preemies" and one Mom told me that when her little boy was born and was sick she was so afraid and my mentor told her to buy some booties for the baby. She said that she did and it gave her such a sense of peace somehow to go and buy him something. She remembered that moment all those years later! I'm so happy to hear that you're about to start all the fun stuff!

Suga
- Babies are stressful and twins must be so much more so. Good for you for establishing such good communication w/DH. I'm glad for you that your mom will be there soon to give you some relief. Resentment is tough. I don't blame you for envying him his sleep. It's gotta be hard to keep your emotions in check when you have such little sleep.

Yikes! I wrote a lot! I haven't posted lately and had a lot of catching up to do.

Things are fine here. I am having occassional pains in my hips. I suppose this is my ligaments loosening but I don't really know. I'll have to ask the dr. Otherwise, I'm just getting bigger. I haven't noticed any contractions but after reading some of what you girls have said I'm not sure I'd recognize them. I don't think my little girl has "dropped" yet.

Hope everyone's well! :)

Thursday is almost here! 3 more days to go, I am getting a little nervous now about the c-section and having a little one to take care of... :) Excited also of course! I can't sleep worth of anything, I can't breathe and last night I had to stay in all fours on the bed to get a breath in. I was so close to calling the OB to re-schedule!!! We have most everything ready and it is getting so close!

Loopie - how are you planning to introduce your pooch to baby? I know what you mean about wanting to do all these things and just not being able to, I get nervous about c-section and recovery and wanting to do everything. It has been a long year hasn't it? I think things are finally catching up really hard with all of us!
Suga- I am sorry about the poop situation, I bet that is stressful. I was hoping for twins but I guess I didn't realize that it is probably more than twice the work right now. I am sorry about you and DH but it is probably normal, the sleep deprivation and introduction of two new little people that need your attention 24/7 has got to put a strain on your marriage. I have been trying to make time with DH but I am just so sore and exhausted lately, Thank God my MIL is around and can babysit for a date. I hope that when your mom comes you can take a little break.
Weezie- you sound like you are ready! Did you call your OB? Are you doing ok?
Gecko - dying to know what the OB says on Tuesday! Our little race is on!
Katie- woo-hoo on no work! It makes a world of difference! Try to take it easy if you can and prepare yourself!
Corny - Any idea when Abby will come home? I am glad she is doing well, maybe you can have a welcome home baby shower so you can get some gifts! How are you feeling?
Mellie- I think we will be going for another cycle at the same time, I get really nervous cause we had 4 fertilize and we transfered all 4 and got one bean. It is such a numbers game and we really just want one more (I also get very nervous about not getting preggers again) but one day at a time and lets meet this little guy first, I am glad we will be there together! About contractions, you might be having them and just not even feel them, very slight in the beginning and you might think it is the baby moving. I get flushed and short of breath. They have increased in the last few days in intensity.

Question for the girls: Are you going to ask for alone time from family right after birth? My in-laws want to be there right away even go at 6 am with us. I want to have time with DH and baby before anyone else goes in that room! I think it should be our special moment to meet our little guy and I really don't want to share that with in-laws and skid.
Only a few more days of insulin shots! Chocolate here I come!

Hope everyone is doing really well and that you had a great weekend!

Rio - I am right there with you on the family at the hospital thing!!!! I pretty much told my family and friends that I didn't want any visitors at the hospital. I think it will be much easier if they come visit when I get home. Of course, people are going to come anyway, but hopefully they will not stay long. The last thing I need is my brother/father in law/ etc... showing up when the lactation consultant is trying to help us with feeding!!!
I think we both are going to deliver this week. I wish you the best and can't wait to hear your birth story!

Mellie - Good to hear from you! I am glad you are doing well. Sorry about the hip pain. That has to make sleeping really hard.

sugabeanz - You really do have your hands full and it will take some time for you and DH to adjust. I am glad you can talk to each other about how you are feeling. I am sure it will get better. Hang in there!

loopie - I am really listless too. I thought the nesting instinct would kick in but it hasn't at all! Good luck with all the reorganizing!

Weezie- How are you doing with the nausea and contractions? Did you check with your doctor?

I have had the worst couple of days! My NST on Friday was atypical. Declan refused to wake up and move. I had to drink lots of juice just to get him going. Then he was having some drops in his heart rate during my contractions. The nurse showed the strip to my doctor and we had to monitor for another 20 minutes through three more contractions. Once he was awake his heart was fine during the contractions so they sent me home. On Saturday I didn't feel him move at all so I called labor and delivery at 4:30 and they had me come in for monitoring. Turned out that the baby was fine but my blood pressure was through the roof! They ran all the pre eclampsia test and they all came out negative so they sent me home. Yesterday my contractions got much more intense and last night I got very little sleep. I am totally nauseous and kinda feel like I have the flu. I don't feel like I am having strong contractions today, but my belly feels like it is clenched all the time and I am having lots of back pain. Thank goodness I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning! I really want to get this show on the road. I am tired of being tired and feeling crappy. This kid needs to GET OUT!!!!!

My parents and best friend are coming for her "birthday". However, I am asking that they give us a couple of hours of privacy once she is born. I want time to be alone with her with DH. I somehow feel self-conscious about everyone watching me see my little girl for the first time. I can't really explain it. Also, there are the little indignities that go along w/having a baby and I really don't even want my mom in the room at that point.

If there is a problem, though, we will probably ask my mom to come in the room (besides being just a great Mom she is an RN), but if all goes well I want that special time alone and my family will respect that.

Hey guys
Well ladies i nearly thought i too was having a non october baby on saturday i was out doing the groceries and very quickly i had pains in my back and stomach and everything had gone hard by the time i got home after the shopping i was beginning to think i had a pattern going of my uterus contracting this went on for a couple of hours and then settled down i was very uncomfortable for the rest of the night with really painful hips that radiated down my thighs when i layed on my sides but by the morning all was good again so who knows i still have a gut feeling i will go into labour early this time . i had my hospital appointment yesterday and told the nurse who said its just my body getting ready for the labour she also said after feeling my stomach and bubs position that she is sitting very low and ready to go anytime

rio so glad you grought up your question i've been thinking the same myself i really want the breastfeeding thing to work this time and can't imagine being able to focus on that if everyone is wanting to visit i have been trying to think of a nice way to tell everyone not to rush up once Katie is here seeing there all keen to meet her. how do you think you'll bring it up any suggestions.

Suga how far apart do the girls feed cna you not try feeding one a little earlier and the other a little later and gradually bring there times together or perhaps topping one of them up with and extra feed to gain that bit of time you need and seeing if you can change it that way i guess it all depends on how far apart the feeds are and all can you not see your child health provider to help you sort out a routine that will help you. with saying all that your doing a great job i know how badly i function on no sleep and can't imagine doing it twice over are the girls sleep patterns the same perhaps looking at there sleep times may help you alter there feeding times also GOODLUCK

Thanks Mellie for the early birthday wish its funny i'm still so undecided as to go natural or for the ceasar i have booked in for the 16th i figure if i begin labour before my ceasar date then i may just see how things progress i can cancell my ceasar at anytime i just don't know how it is possible for dh to deal with ds with the chair and all with out me if only i knew things would go fine with the vbac i wouldn't be having this delemah

Gecko sounds like things are on the move for you also i guess we are all so close now its all a waiting game now

Weezie how are you

Anyway best go need to get on with the day

Ladies are your camera batteries fully charged don't forget

Hi Katie
I've definately had the out of breath thing happening but not the racing heart and belly tightening altogether i would suggest you ring your birthing suit and talk to the midwives next time it happens they may ask you to come in and get checked just to be sure. as for the movements yep lots going on here not so much kicks anymore but more rolling and smoother movements i think my katie is finally running out of room, and as far as i know in the last few weeeks the movements are meant to slow down due to lack of room. As for your anxiety about him arriving well i think we are all there with you i've done it before and i'm still super nervous just remember if we can do the whole ivf thing and cope i'm sure everyone will do just fine besides once your in labour you seem to forget about those anxieties and your focus changes to whats happening in the moment. So yep defiantely get checked out if it keeps happening just to be safe

i finally brought my nursery paint today leaving it a bit late i know but atleast i have a move on now. my nesting instict has defiantely kicked in and i'm feeling the pressure to get organized i have to get ds's things organized aswell to help dh out while i'm in hospital

take care all

Hi Gals..

Wow just 9 months ago we were just regualr old people! now were mommies.. alot can happen in a year!

Suga- How are those angels? COnstipation sucks for adults i cant imagine how little babies cope with it!

Corny- Hows Abby? Im sure she is well!

Rio- Good luck on your c section! but i am sure you will be fine! atleast you know when ypur little angel is coming all the rest of ushave to paly the waiting game! O and yes alone time for the first 2 days! i told everyone that back wheni was 5 months! i just want to be all in my babies face to stare and kiss and adore and i dont want no1 knocking on the door! So 3 days after shes here i will have a small dinner have everyone bring a dish and well do like a baby seeing day! lolol

Jomae- Had the samething last monday,i thought i was going to go in! the contractions started in my back and worked to the belly! for about 5 hours off and on! but nothing! I tell you those contractions snapped me into reality about this natural birth that i am doing! I have to say my pregnany has bill very good no bleeing no diabetes or no abnormal testing but those contractions i got last Monday took me off the cloud 9 i have been on! I hired a doula so in my case if i do get contractions when its time i will call my doula and we will go to my home and i will sit there with her help until the contractions get 3 minutes apart, instread of sitting in that darn hospital!

KatieG- Yes my heart feels like it skips a beat! It mayb becuz my blood pressure is slightly elevated....

Hi to the rest of you!

My shwoer went well had 68 people!.. Can you believe out of all those people no1 brought me diapers! lolol... I got pretty much all i requested except the mattress which i went out and brought. I had the crib thanks to my dad and the stroller thanks to my best friend already in the house! I know this sounds rude but I made a registry for people to follow and since i had all the expensive items (crib stroller) i put little things on there like bounce walker sheets bottle and i also put in registry for people not to by me cloths becuz i want the fun of shopping! can you believe about half the people there didnt even log into the registry becuzz had they did they would have not brought me cloths! and the other half brought me what they wanted to buy! so i had 3 playpens! 3 monitors( to listen to baby) outfits that were the same! omg! Now i know when i go to a baby shower how impertaive it is to stick to the registry! and if you cant afford it you buy a giftcard! Im sorry for complainign but i hate having to give away some of the things! i took it to goodwill and hope someone willget use out of it!

Other than that I have bad news, Iw ent for my 37 week check up and NO DILATION! how sad. DOc said baby is around 6-6.5lbs and that she is in position but just not ready yet! this weekend is my girlfriend bday so we are going to atlantic city and i gues i can go becuz nothing is happening over here! is this normal? I had a LEEP when i was 16 y.o when they took a small peice of my cervix out to test for canerous cells, and after that i know ur cervix makes scar tissue but doc said should not stop dialation( but in rare cases it can slow it down or cause it not to progress) They dont tell you that when you do the LEEP!, in the event that it does the cervix can be manipulated to dilate. Im hoping this is not the case. I forgot to ask about the rippening of my cervix. I was just hoping for him to say your 1 centimeter! but nothing....I guess i shkdnt worry know but when i go on monday and he says nothing thats when i will panic! But ofcourse if i win a large jackpot this weekend and i get excited maybe my water will break!.... (hey im allowed to dream?). O and to top it all off at my 35 week check up they did a Group B test so when i went to yesterday to get the results, my doc tells me they lost it! How the heck? This is the 2nd time, the first time the lost the Diabeted test!!!! SO i had to do the GrpB again. I said to my doc if you lost a freaking cottonswab that you routinely use, u think im letting you and your nurse staff take my baby to the nusery? Not happening! i told him i want her near me at all times!

Has anyone had any dilation or none? i know there are natural remedies that i will try the like the rasberry tea, sex and walking we shall c! i just want to see my baby already! O and 1 more thing, since my case for IVF was becuz i make littel to know eggs( or bad eggs as my doc puts it) I was thinking of starting a stimcycle soon becuz i am 28 and my eggs will only get worse as i wait, also my job pays for 6 ivf cycles and i think me and my hubby are moving to FL withing the next year,so i was thinking of stimming and freezing and using later, so i can have my job now pay for the costly part of ivf and i can pay for the the transfer. My question is can you stim while you breastfeed? does that go into the blood stream? I would hate to stop breast feeding at 4 months to start stims, but its for a good reason right?

Hope all is well! :D :D
