Wow Weezie 1stly congratulations on the arrival of your little man sorry to see you have had a rough time but glad to see that Gavin is fine and you will be too. i can't wait to hear more of your details when your up to it Congratulations again well done

Rio I'm not sure if i'm ahead or behind you in time zones but just wanted to wish you all the best and sending goodwishes for a safe arrival for bub and recovery for you from your c section.

How exciting were all on a roll i had a feeding class last night and got some great tips and as bad as this sounds i'm actually for the first time really feeling excited about katies arrival i've just been so nervous and worried of everything to really be excited before but have now realized all is good and even if i can't feed this time it'll be ok as long as i'm giving it the best go i can. Mind you i'm still in limbo about how katie is going to come into this world vbac or ceasar it's such a hard decision

Sorry have to go congrats to all our mummies and goodluck for those who may pop at any moment

Weezie- Get well soon, and im glad to hear you are doing well!

Katieg-let me know what ur doc says today! if you havent dilated he might want to schedule and induction... If you can hold out i would say way if u and the baby are healthy, remember that pitocin they use for induction is not approved by the fda and the prostalgin gel is what they use on cancer patients with ulcers and it is not approved on use for pregnant women! i know people use it all the time but tose medications also increase the c-section rate and jaundice in a newborn, lower apgar scores and most importantly more painful contractions since it is a synthetic drug. At then end of the day make sure u and ur little one are okay not whats ok for the schedule of a doctor! Like my girlfriend told me her doctor scheduled her for an induction 2 weeks early becuz he was going on vacation! she didnt see anything wrong with it, but i told her if the baby was fine and you were fine then he shld have let u be! These darn doctors forget our bodies were designed for this. Except in those rare cases like with Weezie, things do happen and thats when medical intervention is needed not when things are progressing normally! this topic just gets me all upset!

Anyway im going to go ahead and go to atlantic city this saturday even though i lost part of mucouos plug( i live in nyc) im figuring this is my last chance to get up and go without asking some1 to watch my baby! lol. and i hope i dont go into labor..... am i crazy? i just hate sitting around waiting for something to happen! i swear the 9th month is longer than 1-8 combined!!!

Suga-how the constipation?

Jomae- Take in your doctors advice on which way to go and also on your instincts thats what they are there for. I dont c why u cant try with a vbac first and see if it will happen for you, i mean all you need is the opportunity. Doctors hate doing vbac becuz there is that stigma that once a c0section always but thats obvioulsy not true every person is different! i would say give yourdlef the opportunity..... U will make the right decision, dream on it!

Hope the rest of you are fine!!!!

Weezie - Congratulations! It sounds like it was a rough road for you this week...I can certainly relate to that but I am glad to hear you and Gavin are doing well. :D

Rio - I was at the hospital all day with Abby but by now you are a Mommy so congrats to you too! I can't wait to hear the details. Hope it went nice and smoothly.

Ok - update on us...I am just about back to 100% but am still taking Ambien some nights to sleep. I find myself crying over nothing at all, but it's nothing a little prozac can't take care of! Abby is still being her usual awesome self. She's taking a bottle like a champ so they are increasing her bottles to once every 3rd feeding. The rest are still by feeding tube. Her weight gain slowed down a little, but she is still gaining and that's all that matters. She hit 3lbs 5oz today (the magic 1500 grams), so...they are now weaning her off the heat and will hopefully be in an open crib in a week or so. I took a CPR class today and they have told me to start getting ready for her homecoming! Still have my heart set on having her home by Halloween and it looks like that just may happen! I just don't want to jinx myself. She did have to get a blood transfusion yesterday though. She's making red blood cells, just not quite fast enough. She was looking really pale, but since the blood she has gotten her color back. Oh, and finally...I FINALLY get to have a shower! There are actually 2 scheduled, one on the 18th and one on the 19th. Yay! If you came to my house now, you would never know we are parents...still no nursery but we'll get there. I am just so scared to do anything...

Ok girls...good luck to those of you who haven't delivered...who's next???

Corny i so feel for you and sometimes wonder how you are keeping your self sane i'm sure once abigail is home you can really begin to settle and relax into mummy hood. As you've said Abigail is doing well and getting stronger and thats what you need to focus on. the baby showers you have organized maybe just the thing you need to cheer you up and to help you feel more assured that although it's heart breaking whats happened you have a gorgeous little daughter who loves and needs her mummy and who is getting stronger all the time. you also need to focus on your self and to make sure your getting extra support if you feel things are getting on top of you. i hope i haven't over stepped the mark with my comments i just want you to know that i'm thinking of you and hoping that you and your dh are coping and that you'll be feeling on top of things soon and of course that Abigail comes home really soon and continues to grow into a healthy strong toddler that you can chase around the house.

All the best JOMAEXXX

Hi All
Katie don't worry about being one of the last i'm sure everyone will continue to log on and post to lend support and to congratulate everyone on their new arrivals i know i will be i love hearing the birth stories especially seeing how different they all seem to have been so far and i'll definately be hanging about to hear and give the tips and suggestions everyone has to help with these little people that should come with a manual.

Mbre you know it would have been easier if the docotr had said look you have no choice you have to have a ceasar instead of saying its my choice and then that would be that and i wouldn't need to be worried about potentially making the biggest mistake ever if something were to go wrong. I know i'm harping on the situation i just don't want to be overwhelmed this time and actually enjoy having a new bub in the house instead of feeling restricted and like a single mum don't get me wrong dh does all he possibly can for me but he's very restricted in what he himself can do and there for i just cant take a break which is why its a hard decision to make.

To all the new mummies i hope your all doing well and enjoying your little ones.

Hi Everyone!

I am alive and all is well - I had a few hiccups but things have settled down and now I am focusing on getting through my crazy days with twins!

First congrats to Weezie, Tammy and Rio (who will have had her baby by now)!!! I think those are the only babies to have arrived since I last posted!

As for me, we had quite the experience. I went in for my regular weekly appointment at 36 weeks and the doctor decided to admit me that day (instead of the planned time on Wed) and they started my induction slowly on Tuesday afternoon. By Wed morning I was dialated 3 cms so they started the ocsitosin (sp?) which started moving things along. At 4:00 pm that afternoon they broke my water for baby A and continued with the ocsitosin. At 2:30 am on Thursday morning they said I was ready so they took me to the OR - all twin deliveries are done in the OR in case there is an emergency. At 2:46 AM our baby girl, Audrey was born vaginally and weighed 4.9 lbs. Then the excitement started. Baby B had a prolapsed cord so there was a panic to get him out quickly. They knocked me out and performed an emergency c-section. Baby B, our little boy, Evan, was born at 2:54 AM and weighed 5.9 lbs. Thankfully both were healthy and didn't have to spend any time in the NICU! I woke up at 5:30 AM and got to hear the wonderful news of our Evan from my husband who was holding both babies and sitting next to my bed! It was quite an unbelievable experience.
Things went well for the next couple of days but my blood pressure started to increase a lot. On the day of discharge they ran some tests on me and decided to keep me in because they said it looked like I was developing post-pregnancy pre-eclampsia which is quite rare. The following day they sent me home and just asked that I follow up with my GP. I did and the levels remained quite high for 3 days. So, I went back to my OB who re-admitted me to the hospital for monitoring. I was only in for one day but it was enough - I just wanted to be home and settled into our new routine. Now I am being monitored by a BP specialist who said that things are looking much better. I typically have very low BP so I guess that is why they were so concerned.
Its funny because I had such an uneventful pregnancy but from the point of delivery on it has been quite eventful. At least now things have settled down. Last week I was at the doctors or in the hospital every day - this week I've only seen a doctor once!!
The babies are doing great! We are actually getting them weighed today at the breastfeeding clinic so I am anxious to see how much they've grown. I think Evan has grown a fair bit but Audrey only a little! But they are both blossoming!!!!
Being a mom is such an amazing feeling! I am so excited for everyone on this forum who is about the experience this!!!

Thinking of all your near-mommies!!!

Kelly: WOOHOO! I cried when I read your post! Congrats! So happy for you and I am glad they are healthy! So they are home with you? No NICU stay?? CONGRATS!!!!

Corny: Mackenzie had to get a blood transfusion as well. Brooke did not but they say it is rare for them not to have to get one. I can not believe how well she is doing! She is getting to be a chunker! haha. I can not wait till you get to have her home. PS Wal Mart Makes preemie Halloween costumes...we bought ours there.

KELLY CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a perfect set!( as I predicted hee hee!!!) and you got to experience both kinds of birth- WOWEEE! So wonderful I really teared up when I read your great news. Their weights are amazing - i'm sorry you have had post-partum issues, but all seems well now, and to be home with Audrey and Evan must be just idyllic

Mbre- have a great time in Atlantic City -I love the boardwalk in the fall- heck- I just love the fall! - I was supposed to go to NYC this weekend, but at about 3.5hrs away, I think it's a bit far for me to be from Dh and the docs at this point. I am going to try to have some fun, but more than likely, Dh and I will do some crap around the house-

Katie- hang in there and let it ride - I know I'm feeling the same sort of "when does it start" - another 11 days (39 wks) before my RE's will even look at my cervix for heaven's sake, so I have no idea if stuff is going on at all.

Suga- what costumes did you get for the girls? Halloween is my most favourite holiday, and I love making costumes and dressing up- but haven't a clue what to do this year- if we're not in the hosp- I hope to make us something- even if it's last minute

Corny- glad to hear you're feeling almost perfect! You are so strong and such a good momma, it's really amazing. I know Abigail will be home with you in no time, and the showers- it is what you need to get ready for her debut

Rio- waiting to hear!!!

Tammy- hoping you are home

Gecko- waiting to hear from you-

Cinci- you doing ok?

much love and healthy baby birthing karma going out to all the mommas

ROCKTOBER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kelly - CONGRATULATIONS! :D So glad to hear that your babies are here and doing well. Great weights!

Katie - Put down the remote! I've heard babystory is a scary thing to watch when you're pregnant. I'm glad for the moment that we don't have cable! I would probably be glued to it, too, if I got that channel.

Corny - Yay for all 1500 grams of Abigail! That's great! And, I'm so happy to hear that you're going to be having a shower. That's so much fun. Did you get a chance to register? We registered at Target and Babies R Us and we got most of what we needed from those two stores. The nice thing is that you can put stuff on your registry online. I'm not sure if you have to be in the store in person to start the registry or not, though.

Jomae - Sounds like it's a tough decision for you. I'm sending good vibes your way as you decide. The decisions never end, do they?

Mbre - Hope Atlantic city is fun!

Suga - Those costumes sound cute. I found a little fuzzy pink bunny costume online that I may have to order. It's just too cute.

Things are much the same here. I had an appt this week and the dr is guessing that the baby's weight is in the "6's" which I guess is about average for 37 weeks. I am beginning to get a little nervous about everything being ok. I worry when she doesn't move as much. I even called the dr's office the other day. I'll be glad when she's here and safe and healthy.

I started a blog for the baby that I'm going to share just w/family. I'm embarrassed to share it w/anyone else b/c I know I'll be posting every silly little thing she does and probably pics of her in every outfit. I thought this would be a good way for our families to get pics of her w/o my clogging up their inboxes all the time. I'll also be able to keep a little diary of her that family can read.

Any baby pics from you new Mommies?! :)

Baby Wise results (I will swear by this I think!!)

OK...results from last night!! During the day I did the routine...at times is was wicked hard to keep them awake but even if I made them stay awake for 5 minutes I was happy. They only fussed like once going down for the nap but then fell asleep. Both woke up at their time to eat (sometimes a little fussy but not bad). The 3:30AM feeding neither one woke up (I still woke them up) they barely ate and passed out during the feed. So maybe that is the first feeding they will drop hopefully?? Then this morning at 7AM I made them stay awake for a bit and started over. No fussy!! It was really hard to keep them awake this morning so hopefully this afternoon it will be a little bit better. But they seem so much happier!! Especially Mackenzie! She is not as fussy and it is wonderful!!! I LOVE IT! At times I would just have to do "quiet time" because they would not sleep but they did not fuss! So hopefully tonight is just the same! I got 6 hours of sleep!!!!

We are going to go to JCPenn. next week to get pictures (I am bringing the lysol to spray everything down haha) as well as to the pumpkin patch to get pictures. So excited!!!

How are all the new moms and their babies?!?!
