I am doing OCT/NOV/DEC IVF Treatment

Post by Lady_J »

Hi Ladies.... I am 31. Been with OH 15 yrs and married 11 years. We have a 10 yr old daughter, and I had a ruptured tubal pg in 2000. SO I am left with 1 tube. 8 yrs and no luck TTC on my own. I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2006 and started Metformin treatment. I was referred in July 2008 to Fertility Specialist. Saw FS in August 2008. I started lab work, sanogram, SA, counseling, injection training, and IVF Lecture.... with September Cycle.

October 7> Started AF Spotting/regular flow by evening
Ocotber 8-9> Regular Flow
October 10> Spotting
October 11> Started Birth Control Pills
October 26> Will be starting Lupron Injections
October 31> Last day on Birth Control Pills

(Need to call Nurse at start of next cycle to start me on progestorone injections...etc)

If goes as planned and as hoped, according to Nurse, I will be doing Egg Retreival on or about Nov. 20 and Egg transfer 5 days later. So hopefully by December, I will be blessed.

I really hope everything goes well for all of us through this cycle. May our God bless us and watch over us to make sure everything goes well and safe.

Baby dusto all.

JDC so good to see you back and ready. I know it must ave been really hard for you after last time and i really felt for you. This time should be our turn .....

Everyone You ladies are so fantastic - you're the best. Who knew that such a hard and painful experience would bring us together like this, showing compassion, support and understanding. This makes us all stronger better people i'm convinced of it, and it will make us the best mothers in the world. How many times have you seen someone with several kids just shout and scream and complain, not appreciating how truly lucky they are?? This, ladies will never be us. We will nurture, love and appreciate our little miracles every single day - and be better moms for it. Keep the faith ladies, we WILL get there....

I tried watching that while at home after my surgery last Wednesday. It killed me. I was a crying  mess as well!! I just had to turn it off. I yelled at myself for putting myself through it. He He....can you picture that? Someone sitting there telling themselves how stupid they are for watching something like that at a time like this.

 We all do it. Good luck on your TWW. Positive baby vibes coming your way................................................................................................................................................................................................................Good luck!!

Hi guys,

I had my day 3 fsh tested again today and it was 5. I was really surprised since in the past it was 10 and 12. They say it fluctuates. Does anyone think that is any indicator of how this cycle will go? Only one ovary functions, so in the past I only got 3 eggs and 5 eggs. Just curious.

Kas You are absolutely right - this is gonna be it for us!! I forgot, how many cycles have you tried? This is number 3 for me. I am starting to finally get excited for another try......I didn't think I would ever feel excited about this again!

hi ladies...

JDC- nice to see you back :D :D ..it's hard for us to resurface after a disappointment and i'm grateful you're back with us. it'll be #3 for me this time too. when you said 'short cycle' did you mean you don't down-reg? (like me, straight to fsh)

jenn- so sorry to hear of your painful surgery. ouch  it's awful what we have to go through sometimes.

babyhope- well mthrf@#er! what an ironic name for your issue@#$ !! WTF is right. i've not heard of it and am hopeful you'll find any info you need to navigate around this roadblock. sounds like there's options.

kas, sounds like a wonderful enlightening experience you had with AP. that's lovely and i believe in it although i've not experienced it myself.

adjec. hope you're doing well since transfer. sounds like you made the right decision for yourselves with 1 embie.

wonder- i can't comment on the E2 level as i'm not sure. in the past i just trusted when my clinic said 'you're level is good'.

natasha, it's great to hear about donor eggs...i may end up there someday myself and in the past 'donor egg' has hurt for me to say or think about, but when that's the reality, we need to move towards it and celebrate it. i'm happy to be here with you to celebrate that. and..get any future advice i may need too. to answer your previous question- i had a miscarriage, so no baby. hope for next time.

gina, i'm so sorry to hear your struggles lately and SOOO relate. i've been hopeless, discouraged, anxious, depressed, and just a nut case especially this last week and off and on for a LONG time around IF. i saw a counsellor today who has decided she thinks it's best to help me with my 'negative thought patterns'...at first i wanted to discount this as the best way to go- thinking that's a poor direction to take things, -then, HA HA- as that's such a 'negative thought pattern' i had in response to her..anyways, i'll see her again and hope for the best. i hope you find our group here and other's in your immediate life supportive. for me personally, telling some supportive coworkers and friends and being able to just cry and talk with them has been invaluable. i wish i could give you a big hug right now. :D

well, surprise developments for me- i got AF 3-4 days early TODAY which means i start stims on thursday. YIKES. i'm freaked out. i'm starting to have more PMA, especially after talking to a counselor today and having mirrored back to me my hopelessness. she said i contradicted myself by saying i was a 'strong' person..she's right. i am strong, i guess very sad and scared has taken me somewhere dark lately.

love you all, hi to everyone else that i didn't mention, sorry for the long post. karen

Hi Karen...it's so nice to have some familiar "faces" to chat with! Wow, you are finally stimming soon, yeah! Yes, I also will go straight to stims, but I do take estrace prior to AF, then will start stims. My RE has used the same protocol with me all along with the exception of adding in the estrace last cycle. I'm excited you are finally getting started and I will be eagerly following your progress.

As far as the day 3 fsh thing - I don't think it matters much in my case. I was reading that there are plenty of women with normal fsh, but that also have egg quality issues and low reserve. That's me. But is was nice to have something come up a good number.....at least it made me feel good :D

Oh - I wanted to update myself on the list, but wasn't sure how.....I will start stims mid Nov. Thanks!

Ladies, is there anything special you are doing to prepare yourselves? With my MTHFR blood disease I am on mega doses of Folic (B9) B6, B12, centrum, a second dose of B6 late afternoon. Anyone on Baby Asprin? I know some are doing Acupuncture which I also tried...

The only things I have read are bloodwork/testing, premake decisions, finance awareness/planning, emotional prep but I think most of that have done these things. The emotional thing is of course a rollercoaster but we are all on for the ride. Anything else?

Here we go...

Just had to share...DH is being so cute! Every night since the transfer, he's been kissing my belly, encouraging it to snuggle down in and get started growing! lol And he's totally pampering me...not letting me over do it or anything. Ah...I can't wait to have his baby! :P Definitely back on the PMA bandwagon today! Baby dust to all!

First IM shot last night estrogen... so funny forgot about IM shots so instead of spreading the skin had dh squeeze.. blood everywhere.. now have to do it again tonight.. was like the keystone cops..

I will say i funnily have a good feeling about the whole thing this time..
my negative body image not withstanding..

Hey Guys,

So talked to my RE and we agreed that we are going to do another round in MD. I will monitor locally in CA. In a few days I should be doing my clomid challenge for Denver. Then at the end of that cycle I will start the estrogen priming protocol in MD. Do that puts me doing my stims at the end of November/beginning of December. MY RE is also changing up my ratios of menopur to gonal f ( her current thinking) but will be running that by her partners at the clinic.

If I make Denvers cut-offs and my next cycle in MD does not work, I may do one more round in Denver. If that fails, I will be on donor eggs. I am currently investigating prices and programs for that. I would not use CCRM, because although their rates are great for donor eggs, so are other clinics (San Diego Fertility) for one. The issue is that CCRM is about 12 K more than the other clinics I have seen with similar or higher stats for donor cycles.

So long story short....I am a little late on this thread but it looks like I will doing the a late November/early December cycle!

hi all. jdc- i think you should feel good about a positive fsh #- celebrate it! i'd be thrilled to get that #..do you have a day 10 fsh check too? ps. it's nice to have you back :D

adjec. very cute about your DH. how wonderful. i've got a good one too. very supportive and that's a lifesaver for me now also.

lynnie- glad to hear things are coming together around your cycle plans. are you nervous about cct? i was a wreck! i'll add you to the board.

babyhope- i've not done anything specific to prepare myself. maybe this isn't good, but i've focused on exercise, destressing and dhea. nothing else.

NY- you can always get your body back later :D ..please don't feel bad about it. i remember your earlier post and you're only 10lbs off what you used to be and when the time is right, you can get that back no problem. the time is just not right now. be gentle with yourself.

so i start stims tomorrow and i'm nervous!! on sunday we go for our first u/s and will know if it's starting to work or looking like a cancellation. i'll be nauseous by then with worry.

love to all,karen

JDC - That's great about your FSH - mine has varied too but in the upwards direction... i'd be so happy to get that #!!

adjec - how sweet of your DH!

NY - you probably looked awesome regardless... you'll definitely get your body back- we all will...

Babyhope - I've been doing acupuncture for a couple months and that's been very calming... I used to have a lot of tension around my uterus (cramping etc) - maybe mild endo - and it's really gone now... I think it works for some people ... some don't need it. I'm ultra sensitive so I think I respond to it.

Lady - welcome to the board !

Karen - congrats on starting stims so soon!

Lynniecat - you sound so organized and on top of things... ! really hope this next go works for you.

As for me - I'm on day 6 of stims... Today I had my first u/s to see how the follicles are growing. I really didn't know what to expect but was hoping for more.. what do you ladies think?
I have 3 on my rt side that are 12,14 & 16mm
and then 3 on my left side that are all 10, and then several more on my left that are less than 10. I'm a bit uneven - going to see if my acupuncturist can work on this (she said she can help with that)

Is this okay? I was sort of hoping for a bit more... considering my age - it's likely a high percentage won't be healthy... I know people say all you need is one good one but when I read around I see that some women have like 20...

any thoughts would be appreciated...!
thanks
