Congratulations Katie! You're a mommy! I hope you are feeling well and the bleeding is all gone. Awesome about the bfeeding!
Lostgirl - thanks for the bfeeding tips and welcome to this board!
Weezie- I hope you guys settle this issue quick I can't believe someone would do that. Awful people!
Loopie- Almost there, I can;t wait to hear you're a mommy and see pictures of your bean!
Gecko- don't be too hard on yourself, you are doing the best you can and that is all you can do. I know how upsetting it can be when your body doesn't respond, I felt like that with the GD. But you have accept that you really don't have control over it and you are giving it your best shot. Drink lots of water!
Suga- Sorry about the reflux, my cousin's baby has that and has to take medication before eating but it goes away. I would be beyond myself if someone touched my baby, unreal!
Mbre Hang in there, your little one will be here soon, I can only imagine how anxious you might be.
Jomae I hope that you and Katie are doing great, can't wait to hear the news!
Mellie how are you doing?

I just feel like I can't get anything done! Anyone feel this way, even checking email is hard. 3 dogs and a baby are a handful! I went to my OB cause I am still in pain after 2weeks since my csec. I can't feel my bladder at all and have pain urinating, also have some weird pains, he put me on antibiotics and more pain meds. I just can't wait to feel better. Not feeling well makes it hard. I wasn't drinking enough water so the pediatrician said it affects breastmilk so I need to kick back and drink fluids. Other than that I can't stop drooling over our little boy!!!

so yesterday, I tripped on some faulty sidewalk while walking the dog and screwed up my foot! I am trying not to be grumpy, but now can hardly get around - luckily have a cane left over from my back surgery but look ridiculous!- hope it's going to feel better today- oh and to top it off- I am so congested I whistle through my nose constantly :x
am trying to keep my chin up- but since there are now like 3 of them    it's getting tough!

hope all the mommas are well!

love to all, and thanks for being here for me! I can't tell you how much you all mean to me!!!

Gosh Loopie! Can not get a break! SOON though soon!!!

Rio: I had pain urinating after the section as well. Kinda a burning sensation?? It went away after like 3-4 weeks I think. I did not even think of infection lol. But mine did go away.

So, the girls have a doc. appt. on Monday. I have to talk to her about Brooke and her reflux. She is getting to the point she is hardly holding anything down at feeds. She is on meds but they are not working. Have to talk to her about Mackenzie because I think she has colic. No joke. Same time every night cries from 8PMish to 1AMish. Nothing you can do to console her other than hold her and rock her. As soon as you put her down it starts up again. So maybe their formula is doing something to them?? Who knows.

sugabeanz - Declan is doing the same thing as Mackenzie. He wakes up around 7pm and won't sleep until 1 or 2am. We feed him, burp him, rock him etc.... and he just dozes off for a little while and then wakes and is totally fussy. And he seems to want to eat a lot during that time. We were thinking that he has his days and nights mixed up so have tried to wake him as much as possible during the day. It helps a little. I am curious to know what your doctor says.

loopie- I am so sorry about your ankle!!! That is a drag. I hope it is feeling better soon. Are you going to have it checked out by a doctor? Hang in there.....

rio - I am not feeling myself yet either after the c-section. I don't have bladder pain, but I do tend to have pain at the incision site and bleed more if I am too active. I am trying to relax but am just so antsy to get up and do something NORMAL. I am sure we will all be feeling better when we hit the six week mark.

How are the rest of the mommies? Mbre, Jomae - any news?

Girls, what should we name our thread in the "parents after treatment" forum? We were not all October mommies. I am open to suggestions, I can't believe we will all be there soon! Mellie and Gecko and next year we will be in two boards if we go for IVF again, my OB said I can do it anytime after stopping breastfeeding.
Loopie- I am so sorry about your ankle and everything else, I bet you are ready to have your bean! I was so ready to have our bean even him being 10 days early!
Gecko- the c-sec kicked my butt. I have no sensation in my bladder so I have to guess if I have to go or not. I wish I was feeling well to fully enjoy this.
Suga - sorry you are having some trouble with the girls, I can't even imagine having twins right now, you have your hands extra full and it seems you are doing a fantastic job of it!

Mellie, Mbre and Loopie - sending you labor vibes so you can meet your bean!

Evelyne Jane was born on Tuesday, October 14th! :D She was 6 pounds 11 ounces and 20 inches long. She is my dream come true! Evie is healthy and just a joy to be around. I am doing well, too.

I have a bit of a funny birth story. I decided a couple of months ago that my preference was to deliver via c section. I understand that that is an unconventional decision and so I kept it to myself. I agonized over the decision and did a lot of reading and talked to my dr about my concerns. Although this wouldn't be a good decision for many women, for me it felt right. We scheduled it for Thursday, Oct 16th.

Well, I went for my last obgyn appt Tues morning at 9am. I was thinning but there was no dilation. I remember saying "I guess that means I'll hold out until Thursday" and the dr said that you can never tell but that I didn't have any signs of anything.

So, we left her office and walked about 15 minutes away to a Starbucks where I ate some breakfast. After eating, I was walking to the restroom when -- Voosh! -- my water broke  . Yes, that's right, my water broke all over Starbucks  It was just like in the movies. Tons of water came gushing out. I made it to the bathroom door but of course someone was in there. When she came out I nearly ran her over. I was soaked. My pants, jacket, tennis shoes, everything was drenched. Luckily, I was wearing black stretchy yoga pants so I don't think anyone actually noticed other than me.

We ran outside and hailed a cab. We told the driver to get to the hospital and to hurry (again, doesn't this sound like a cliche from a movie?). We got there and I had leaked on his seat and in his floorboard. He was really irritated -- but what could I do?

I went to triage and they hooked me up. Since I had just eaten they said I needed to wait 6 hours if possible before having the c section. The first 3-4 hours went by fine. I started having some cramps but nothing too bad. Then, before I knew it I was having intense contractions. I mentioned to the nurse that my mother's first labor was only 7-8 hours long and that I was concerned that I may have been further along than they realized. They reassured me that if I had no dilation at my 9am dr appt and this was my first baby that there was plenty of time. No one bothered to check me for dilation.

Well, about 6 hours into this I noticed that the contractions were coming every 2 minutes and I was in tremendous pain. I've always had a really good tolerance for pain and so I had wondered beforehand if I would be a very good judge of when I was in labor or how far along I was. Finally, they took me up to the room before OR and checked my dilation (I had been there over 7 hours w/o anyone checking!) and I was 8 cm dilated! I think they were all surprised.

I had had no pain meds and so I was pretty miserable. The dr asked me if I wanted to continue w/my c section plan or try vaginally. I told her that I didn't want to change my plan. They got me in quickly and the surgery went very well. She was born healthy and crying and pee'ed on the nurse

My recovery has been good. The day after the c section I turned down pain meds and so I was in a lot of pain that night but once I realized that I needed them and started taking them on a regular schedule I haven't had problems. I know a c section isn't what most women want but so far I am happy with my decision. I feel great and am so happy that my little girl is healthy and thriving.

I will try to post pics soon!

Good luck to everyone who is waiting for their babies! I hope you have the birth experience that you want and that your little ones are healthy and happy! :)

Mellie - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy that you and your little girl are doing well and that she is now safely in your arms! What a joy and a blessing. Your birth story is very amusing. When my water broke at home it was the same thing. I was drenched and it was really gross. I don't know what I would have done if I had been out in public. Mine broke after a pelvic exam in the morning too. I wonder if it was the exam that did it? It is too bad that they didn't do the c-section earlier so that you could have avoided the pain from the contractions. For what it's worth, I really think the c-section is the way to go. It isn't so bad a recovery as I though it would be as long as you keep up with the pain medication for the first week to ten days. I actually feel pretty good now that it has been two weeks. I did some gardening a few days ago and am driving and moving pretty normally. If I do too much, though, I get more bleeding and some pain. Try to take it easy and don't push it.

rio - Thanks for keeping our list up to date. Looks like there are only a few of us left to deliver! Sorry about the section recovery. What are they saying about you bladder problem? I would go crazy if I couldn't tell if I had to pee!!!!!!!! As for the parents thread name, I am not very clever with titles but we should pick something really good as I intend to be posting on it for a very long time to come!

Loopie- How your doing? Any change?

Jomae- ??????? Can't wait to hear from you.

Mbre - Any news?

Hey Hoekey - I don't know if you still cruise this thread, but I just wanted to tell you that you have been in my thoughts. You are still the Godmother of this thread and of all our babies. I hope you are doing well and that life is blessing you in lots of ways. I would love to know how you are doing if you feel up to posting. Take care.

Gecko: I have been checking in on you girls faithfully and veiwing all your beautiful babies on photobucket. I haven't posted because, well, I just don't have much to say really. I have been laughing and empathizing with you all. I have had two daughters from a previous marriage and neither birthing experience was remotely complicated so to see almost all you girls have some kind of crisis, whether small or big, is so suprising to me. Both my girls were delivered vaginally without pain meds and were relativiely short labors. I am just so glad that all the babies are home after some early deliveries and early scares. Kinda makes me nervous to get pregnant again  . I am still in a holding pattern and am not in any real hurry to try again yet. I bet you all are suprised but I have my reasons. Thank you so much for asking about me and I am genuinely so happy for you all and am in love with all of your perfect miracles.

Have to head off to church, bless you all!!!

good morning mommas!
well i'm officially past my due date! and there seems to be nothing going on except telephone calls from everyone wondering where the baby is - ok- am happy that people care, but not happy that they cannot stop bugging me!
decided to post some baby and non baby related pix on photobucket- I have decided to focus on getting some art stuff done- applying to shows- which i've not done since we started the whole IVF thing! so i will get to work with that, have some eats, and wait some more!

and go see how wonderful Abby looks on Corny's site- she looks perfect at home!!
suga- cute pumpkin babies- and Tammy- how mean!hee heee
    Zachary looks too cute in the pumpkin- but i suspect he wasn't so cooperative- I love it!! I am so excited to dress my little one (still no name) up- halloween is the best holiday- I think I'm going to make a costume for my friend's baby since mine is still disguised as a watermelon in my belly!

Hokey- so marvelous to hear from you-I hope you will have a safe and easy journey to motherhood whenever you decide to venture into it again!

cheers

I am going to get some pics up hopefully tonight. Congrats Mellie crazy story. Glad it worked out. How much is everyone sleeping?? Gecko - Thanks for the congrats. I have been lucky b/c the recovery has gone well. Today is 1 week and I'm already forgetting to take the pain meds. I guess that's a good sign. I hope it continues like this. Funny that your water broke after a pelvic exam, too. Another friend of mine said the same thing happened to her.

Loopie - They did a spinal. It was painless and a welcome relief from the contractions. It wore off gradually. I had the c-section around 6pm and by 6am the next morning I walked to the bathroom for the first time. As I understand it women only go under general anaesthesia for emergency situations.

That's so cool that you posted some of your work. That must be such an amazing feeling to have your artwork displalyed like that. You're crib looks really cool. It's so unique and seems to go with the room. Your belly is really cute. Looks like you're holding up well under the circumstances.

Hoekey - Thank you for all the good wishes. I hope that things are going well for you and that when you're ready to try again everything goes well.

Suga - Green diarrhea? Yikes! I love the pumpking photos!

Katie - Glad to hear that Parker is doing well and that your milk is coming in.

Tammy - That photo of Zachary in the pumpkin is hysterical.

Corny - Abigail is precious. Is that blonde or red hair? Maybe a strawberry blonde?

Rio - I can't believe how much hair your little guy has. He's so cute.

I posted some pics of us to the bucket. Everyone's babies look so darling. This is such a happy time for all of us. I'm glad we're able to share it. :)
