Loopie - I am sorry you are up at 4am and still feeling crappy. I know if I were you I would be going out of my mind, but remember that this too will come to an end. It just doesn't seem like it right now.... What does your doctor say? Do you have a date for induction if it doesn't happen naturally?

Hi Mummas and Mummastillwaiting....

Saw my doc today and i am scheduled for an induction this saturday. I will be 8 days over due. I wanted to wait till 10 days until i plan the unevitable induction but my pressuere is rising! My dioc checked me and i am not even dialted at all! no contractions nothing so it really seems like without assistance she will be in here forever!

I have a question, I was reading online, and it was saying that if ur body isnt ready to be induced that it might lead to a c-section. I mean i amonly 50% effaced( been this way since 37 weeks) and no dialation so I cant help to think that my body/baby just isnt ready and wont respond to the cervidil and pitocin. How many mummas had to be induced but were 0 dialted and had a succesful birth not requiring c-section? Shld I just opt for a c-sectiopn and avoid the drama?

Mbre - I can't tell you what to do but I can tell you what my experience was. When my water broke I was 0% effaced and 0% dialated but they had to start the pitocin anyway. They had planned to use the cervidil but couldn't because I was having contractions and apparently the cervidil can't be used if you are contracting. I spent 33 hours in labor and had four epidurals, none of which really worked to ease the pain. When I couldn't dialate beyond 6 cm I had to have a c-section. If I had to do it all over again I would just opt for the c-section because the 33 hours of pitocin driven contractions was AWFUL! It might have been very different if there had been time to use the cervidil. Also, my age didn't work in my favor. It is much more difficult to deliver vaginally over 40. I would talk to your doctor about you concerns and then try to decide.

Hi, ladies. I just thought I would offer some of you some words of hope that I wish someone would have told me 9 weeks ago!!! The not sleeping thing will not last forever with the babies. The first month was SOOO tough and now at 9 weeks, my son is sleeping like a champ. Most nights he goes down at 10 p.m. and does not wake up until some time between 6-8 a.m. But OMG - I was losing my mind when he first came home. We slept whenever and wherever we could. It was nuts. I just wish someone would have told me how quickly it does get better. My husband and I laugh now about how insane it was. One night we slept with the light on because we swore our son wanted it on!!! But it does get better - much better!! I really recommend the Baby Whisperer's book. It helped us sooo much. She recommends "tanking them up at night"...which means feeding them every 2 hours for their last couple of feedings of the night. It helped us a lot. Just my 2 cents. One of the women on the August thread recommended the book to us.

Mbre - Just to make you feel better, this was my 1st child and I was induced a day before my due date. I was pretty well effaced, but only 1 centimeter dilated and I had a Wonderful delivery. They started the drugs at around 7:30 a.m. and I was 10 centimeters by 3:30 p.m. My son was born at 5:15 p.m. and it was an incredible delivery - I had an epidural and we had so much fun when he was being born. So, hang in there and think positive. I thought I was for sure going to have a terrible time and end up with a c-sec and instead it was wonderful...and I am very small and petite which scared me even more. I was induced because my blood pressure had gone up. So it might all work out great for you! Just wanted you to think positive.

Good luck to all of you and please know the craziness of the first 6 weeks will pass and you will also laugh about it all! :) I just wish someone would have made me realize it then. :)

Tina - Thank you so much for your words of encouragement regarding the sleeping thing!!!! I read your thread pretty regularly so that I kinda get an idea of what is coming and am so happy to know that this will pass. It was especially good to read your post this morning since I only had three hours of sleep all of last night. He just seems to wake every two hours and wants food. By the time I feed him, change him, and lull him back to sleep and then pump, it is time to do it all over again. I am going NUTS!!! And to top it off, my DH is a firefighter and on shift this week for the first time so I am all by myself for four days. It is harder than I thought. I am so glad to know that this will only last a few more weeks. THANKS!!!

Loopie - HOORAY!!!!!!!! I am so excited for you and can't wait to hear your birth story. Please post when you can.

Mbre - You are next....... Hang in there!

Hope all the mommas are doing ok.

GO LOOPIE GO thinking of you girl sending you best wishes for a safe and smooth birth can't wait to hear your story

MBRE your next hopefully its soon for you can't wait to hear. as for the ceasar decision if it was up to me i would just go with the flow although you haven't progressed yet it doesn't mean you won't when your induced if every induced labour ended in a ceasar they wouldn't offer to induce you and you maybe the the text book induced mother who it all goes to plan for the recovery time with ceasar are a lot longer that natural births and it also affects how you birth your next babies and of course with every surgery there is risks. But in saying all of that its totally your decision and what ever you feel is best for you will be the right decision good luck hopefully you'll kick start labour of your self thinking of you

Were all nearly there hooray.

hey suga thankfully katie is the perfect sleeper mind you that could all change at anytime it's defiantely hard when they don't settle for you ds barely slept for the first three or four months for us and it takes a toll on you thats why i feel pretty lucky at the moment with how well katie sleeps even now that her jaundice is gone . as far as i know sleeping through the night is weight related they need to get to a certain weight before they will sleep through which they generally reach around the three to four month mark which may be something that will take a little longer for your girls being premi and all but as tino says it does get better.

Heres a couple of name suggestions for the parents board which btw is hard to come up with seeing we manages to birth over three different months months anyway they are just suggestions anyone else come up with anything

Aug/sept/oct mommas
no longer due Oct we've popped
Momma's at last

take care all thinking of you Loopie and Mbre

Jomae: I miss being pregnant really bad!! I think we will put our two frozens in end of next year so hopefully those take!!! But I did not get to the uncomfortable stage so that may also be a big reason I miss it lol. Plus, you could sleep whenever when you were preggers!

Hi moms I have 2 questions? Anyone breastfeeding and pumping how many ounces per feeding do you give? I am not sure what my supply is I pumped and only got right at 3 oz on both breasts combined. I did each side for like 20 minutes. How long do yall pump on each side? I got a calculation online based on weight and it was about 3 oz. Im not pumping exclusivly but it gives me a break every now and then. I will say Im giving it another week or so to get to the 2 1/2 week mark hoping this will get better. It hurts sooooo bad.

Second---When do you let your baby wake you up during the night to eat vs waking them up. I get so many mixed suggesting online and by people. Some say they let them wake up on there own regardless. Doc did say I could stretch it to every 4 hours durning the night that has helped alot--- But at what point do I let him wake up on his own even if its longer?

Tina thank you for the tips!!! at what week mark did your little one start sleeping that long? DOes he still take a lot of naps during the day? Thanks for the encouragement I love being a mom but its sooo hard Suga I have much respect for you and all the other moms with mulitples this is hard. Worth every minute but hard. My DH is going back to work on monday Im already freaking out thank goodness my son is very calm and doesnt cry very much he is very laid back I think id lose my mind. Ok enough rant for now.l

Hows everyone else coping.

Katie G: It will be ok! lol. Stressful at times though! I only got a week with my husband off so I know how you feel there. As far as breastfeeding NO idea so I can not help you there. With them sleeping through the night and waking them and whatnot: Mine weigh about 8 lbs each now and they go about 4 1/2-5 hours at night. Here is a sample schedule I follow with mine

8AM wake up/eat/play
9AM nap
11AM wake up/eat/play
12PM nap
2PM wake up/eat/play
3PM nap
5PM wake up/eat/play
6PM nap
8PM wake up/eat/play(bath)
9PM bed time

Then I let them wake themselves up whenever they need to during the night. Since it is almost day light savings, these times will change back by an hour to where they used to be. I moved them up an hour to compensate cause I knew daylight savings was coming. So they will wake up at 7AM here again soon. Now those nap times are not in concrete! Sometimes they only last 15 minutes after they eat sometimes they only sleep 30 minutes before their next feed, sometimes not at all. But that is the schedule I strive for. Mine did not start going longer than every three hours during the night till like a week ago. It all has to do with weight and how long they will go.

OH! I forgot! At 11PM I DO wake them up for a "dream feed" so that they will go longer at night...so that is technically their last scheduled feed at night. I do not wake them up totally just enough for them to eat and I put them right back down
