How are you guys doing? I'm doing okay. Lots of drama going on at work, and it's very unpleasant, but it will pass I hope. Tomorrow, I have to do a short presentation in front of doctors, their residents and externs as well (med students). Residents can be very arrogant and egotistic, doctors too, and I hope my presentation will be well-received. I hope I will excel in perspective management, it's the key!
I STOPPED THE MEDS yesterday evening! WOOHOO! I counted the doses, let me tell you! Now all I have to do is wane myself from the anti-ms meds, gradually. I'll start cutting down in a few days, when the extra hormones are out of my system. No bleeding yet, I'm keeping everything crossed!
Smiles,
I'm so sorry to hear that you're very sick!! Have you talked to your doc about it? The anti-ms meds I took are super safe, they are mostly minerals and vitamines and they are designed specifically for pregnant women. They made a HUGE difference and allowed me to have a normal life during my first trimester. Either way, I hope it goes away real soon...
Brooke,
Why wouldn't you take Tylenol for your headache? Advil isn't safe for pregnant women, but Tylenol is recommended. I sure had a whole day spoiled because I forgot my Tylenol at home and had a head-splitting headache! Do they occur often? I hope you're feeling better! *hugs* you're absolutely right; there's no reason you'd want to do further testing if the first prenatal tests (ultrasound and blood tests) are negative. I'm happy you didn't let that affect your mood. As for me, though, I reconsidered the start of my maternity leave. Knowing that studies show singleton pregnancies have higher risks for preterm delivery, I might stop working around 8 months instead of pushing it until a week or two before my due date. My MIL told me I may find it hard to travel by train and subway every day with a big belly, and then walk to and from the stations. I hope you had a great weekend!
Stacy,
I'm glad things are starting to pick up! You'll see, the fatigue really starts improving around weeks 10 and 11. Amazing what a single week can do! So, how was the in-laws' visit?? How did they react to the news? And how did you announce them? I hope it was a big fat nice Kodak moment, lol!

Stefanie,
Hey, I didn't know you worked in the showbusiness!!! Are you a writer, a director? Congratulations on your opening night! Tell us how it went? What's the play about? You friend's theory seems good. I've been told the same thing for singletons, though. Given that implantation means that the embryo literally digs into your lining, it's normal to have some bleeding when the lining moves with the uterus' growth. Hehehe must be nice to have a belly already!!!
Okay, that's about it for me. Soon, I'll do some financial planning with my husband. It's hillarious; he's right on schedule with the "dad" section of the pregnancyabout.com weekly calendar! Now he's preoccupied with the financial aspects of the pregnancy and baby's arrival. So we'll sit down with the numbers and what it means to take a maternity leave of any given number of months. I'm aiming for a year, but it will depend on our budget. I'll be glad when we can define a plan, and I'm sure that will put his mind at ease too. He's not the type to worry, but he'll be bugged by that kind of practical issue, so we'd better adress it now. I was a bit disappointed when he said he may just take 5 days leave after the baby is born (the leave his company gives to new dads). He said it would depend on the situation, but I really hope I'll have help at home by then. First, he declared he's not interested in having my father and his wife move in with us for two weeks to help with the baby... at least he would be happy if his parents were there. But I'll admit I don't like the idea of being left alone at home with two dogs and a newborn barely a couple of days after we came back from the hospital! It would be insane! Ah, well... there will be plenty of occasions to discuss that!
Okay, gotta run! Take care ladies!
