sugabeanzs- I hope Mackenzie is ok. Please keep us posted. Today Declan is not wanting to wake up to eat either. He slept for almost three hours this morning and I finally woke him to feed him and then he was starving and had two bottles a half hour apart. Now he is sleeping again. I hope he isn't coming down with a cold..... I have a babysitter for a couple of hours this evening too and I hope he doesn't decide to wake up and be a terror while I am gone!

Hey all....remember me???? from waaay back? Sorry to crash...I just had to come by.
I posted over on my Chinese Med's thread but you won't see it over here so I want to re-post.
This is Crazy!!!

First though I've been reading through all your pages & you ladies are an inspiration. Loopie...you crack me up...your son's name is brilliant. And Corny, wow..you are amazing...i hope Abigail is doing well!!!
I hope I pull through like all of you because I am preggers!!!

It's been awhile ( 3 or 4 months ) since I've been anywhere on the board. As per my Chinese Doc, I had to take a 2 month break between IVF's and I was going crazy waiting.
So I took time away and took care of myself and meditated. Also did a lot of visualizing a baby along with AP twice a week and herbs.

I also turned 43!!!

We started a new round of IVF at the beginning of Oct. First US it was wierd...only 3 eggs. I was also running out of Lupron which never happens and wasn't feeling great. Anyway, to make a long story short...the doctor had prescribed regular Lupron this time instead of Microdose but the nurse gave me the microdose schedule so I was getting 8x the amount of Lupron I should be. Over-suppressing big time! As soon as they changed it some more follies popped up but it was too late for them to catch up.
I had to switch to IUI. I was so angry..., & success in IUI at my age is neglible...less that 5% I believe.

BUT...I got a BFP last week. It is really a miracle. Unlike my Chemical, this seems strong so far. The 1st beta was 122 & 4 days later ( today ) it was 830 so I am definitely on my way.

I know, with the mistakes, that this would never have been possible without Chinese Medicine. I have been doing it diligently for 8 months...stinky herb tea and all :D It's a lot of money, but worth it & saved most of it not having to go through IVF.

Us old broads can still do it

All the best to all of you!! I may come ask for some advice, if you can even remember that far back!

Mbre- CONGRATULATIONS!! our beans were born on the same day!!!! I am sorry you had to have a csect- but when baby is at risk- what can you do- hope you are recovering well- we missed you!

Rinne- CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!! amazing!!!!!!! I'm so very happy for you it's brilliant !

I'm still sick- now have a fever, and will call the doc in the AM- hope it's nothing, but am starting to worry as it's been 3 days of achy lethargy and now a fever to boot- hope the breast thing is not an infection

Pulman is doing great, but i'm just a mess- i'm hanging in there with the bf, but think it would be impossible if not for my mom-in-law being here to change diapers and encourage me to sleep in between feedings.

hope you're all well

hugs

Hi Girls
Katie is finally waking more now which is nice for a change although it has been so nice with such a quiet bub. On the down side she seems to be unsettled where i'm not really sure what the problem is shes not screaming or anything just giving a enough of a cry every few minutes to get my full attention shes either over tired or has a belly ache i think it's just so hard to tell some times. And although she's not constipated she seems to be struggling to poop anybody else experiencing this love to know what it means.

I actually gave her 10mls of water today which did seem to finally work according to the nurse bubs on formula can get thirsty so thought i'd try it and it did settle her

Heres another tip for everyone if bub seems to have their day and night clock mixed up i did hear of a seminar where the speaker claims that if bub is placed in filtered sunlight for 20 minutes for four days in a row it helps build a particular hormone (can't think of the name) that tells your body to get tired of a night time and therefore helps bub sleep ore of a night time worth a try if its a problem i guess.

I had Katie weighed on monday just gone and shes already 1 pound 7 ounces heavier than her birth weight so were now on the right track thank goodness.

Suga sorry to read your post unfortunately i've been there and it's not a good place to be but you've done the right thing in getting things sorted hopefully you'll be on the right track soon.

What does everyone think about dummies or pacifiers do you think there a good thing or not

Best go Take care JOMAEXXXX

hi mommas!

sug- i am sorry you're going through PPD- you shouldn't need to be on meds for long- its totally normal to think you're losing it- i mean twins, preemies, i'd say pretty overwhelmed! and glad you're getting the help you need. And I hope the girls continue to gain weight and eat like champs!

i thought i was starting to go crazy myself- I'd been sick since sunday night, and after the call monday where the nurse blew me off and said nothing was wrong -finally called doc's office again yesterday, got the same nurse who blew me off again, and finally in the afternoon- i was in tears and called back- got another nurse who told me to go right over to L&D at the hospital to be seen. Right away, I was diagnosed with mastitis and possibly a uterine infection as well. god I was so relieved to know i wasn't going crazy! I ached, was lethargic, and my breast was killing me, hot, hard and red- same thing i kept telling the nurse on the phone, but since I didn't have a raging fever, she decided it was nothing! I am going to call today and complain about her- , when i clearly could have been on antibiotics for 5 days already, i'm sort of pissed!! thankfully, my mom-in-law was here, or i'd have been in serious trouble.
It seems not to have troubled Pulman in the least- but the infected breast is horribly painful to bf from- but must continue to get the infected mass out- sooo gross!

I don't know what the right thing to do about feeding is, but I just chill until he wants to eat- sometimes its 1.5 to 2 hours, sometimes it's 4.5 to 5. Then again, I'm not really sure how much he's getting- the uninfected breast is definitely making more milk, but he'll nurse for 20-45 minutes, and stops when done

gecko- how's the going solo going?

rio- are you feeling ok?- thinking about you- do you have any help right now?

jomae- i'd forgotten you had just 1 egg- so awesome!!! sometimes, i think they just cry b/c it's 1 of the 4 things they know how to do
can you thin the formula a bit to increase the water intake??? did she like water?

I'm finally feeling a bit better, and certainly more optimistic now that I know there is an end to this crappy feeling. I'm going to begin pumping on a regular basis to get a stockpile in the freezer so dh can start to feed him a bit starting next week or so- I think he'll really like to do something more than change diapers
the 2nd wink was from Pulman- he kicked the keyboard!!!
ok- gtg it's cry cry cry-

Hey Mommas! I've been reading up daily on all of you and I'm so excited for everyone. What wild birth stories. I'm glad that everyone is doing fairly well. I hope we all catch a break soon. Sounds like we all have some sort of hurddle to overcome.
I don't know when i can post again. Gavin has a terrible case of colic and acid reflux. I've been giving him a colic cocktail of tylenol/mylicon/mylanta/benadryl. it worked great until today and i had to give him prescription levsin which is not cutting it. i think i will have to resort to paragoric!! i hate giving him drugs, but i cannot take him screaming in pain for over an hour at a time. i may even give up BF and put him on nutramagen. ITS BEEN VERY HARD ON DH AND I.

RIN- CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!! :D please keep us posted

Rio- if you are still having trouble at night b/c of your pain, i have a co-sleeper and it has been a lifesaver. you may want to look into it

Gavin is cramping, gotta run.

TAKE CARE MOMMAS AND CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE

Weezie- I' am soo sorry about the colic- it must be heartbreaking to hear him cry that much- I hope the meds resolve his discomfort. Does the BF not soothe him?
take care of yourselves and don't stress- you'll make the right decisions for all of you- your peace of mind and comfort are as important as Gavin's

take it easy

weezie: There is this herbal supplement for colic that is supposed to help wonders! We have an herbal store here for mommies and babies so I am not sure where you can pick it up...I think it is called Colic Ease?? Something or other? A friend was telling me about it the other day...I will try to get the right name for you.

Loopie: Get well soon! My friend had that and she was in a ton of pain! I can not imagine! She had to stop BF tho because of the antibiotics they put her on? I would DEF call and complain about that nurse. No lie, call and complain BIG time.

Jomae: When I first read you post I thought you said "Katie is finally walking more!" Not waking! haha! I was like WHAT?!?! Made me read it twice! lol. And yes, some babies just like to hear themselves.

Constipation: My doc told us sugar water (1tsp sugar in an ounce of water, boiled then let cool then let them suck on it), pear juice, prune juice, white grape juice (half and half), and Dark Kayro of course. Mine are ALWAYS constipated cause of all the iron they are on. Forula and vitamins have a lot of it in it.

Rinnie: You are more than welcome to the name! lol. I wanted to spell it Makenzie but husband said no haha.

Ok So I put the girls in the swing to play (THEY LOVE IT!) but then they fall asleep! haha. Do not know how to get over that when they are supposed to stay awake! lol.

Also, I woke up with a HORRIBLE cold. Like body aches (might be the water aerobics from last night) but throat is sore like woah. I am SO SCARED I will give it to the girls! Any tips on how not to spread it to them? I know wash hands a lot, do not breathe on them, no kisses, etc. HELP!

CONGRATULATIONS MBRE!!! :D

Katie - That was quite a high fever! Hope you're feeling better.

CT_Michele - Welcome! :) How did the shots go? Our little one had her hep B shot and did not like it one bit but she soothed very quickly and seemed to forget all about it within minutes.

Rio - I feel good, but maybe my recovery was easier b/c I didn't have an underlying medical issue necessitating the c-section. I don't have anything to compare it to since it's my only birth but my mom said that I was up and moving around better than she and her sister were doing after their vaginal births, so I feel very fortunate. Still some incision pain and a bit of numbness. How are you doing? Were the gall stones and the bladder infection related to the pregnancy somehow or was that just lousy luck?

Suga - Hope you feel better soon. Good for you for going and getting some help w/the PPD. No reason to be miserable when there is help out there. How are you feeling? Have the meds kicked in yet?

Katie and Gecko - I have been exclusively pumping from the start and I have to agree w/you both that this is my least favorite part about motherhood. It hurts (although it's gotten much better) and when I time it wrong and I'm alone w/Evie it's a disaster. If anyone could see me they'd have a good laugh at me popping off the boob suction cups to pick up a crying baby w/milk dripping down my tummy and pants. We are definitely gonna have to get a new sofa once Evie is finished w/breast milk! But, on the positive side I know that the breast milk is good for her and she's gaining weight like crazy. I have a good supply and have a small stockpile started in the freezer.

Congratulations Rinnie!
:D We don't know each other but I'm happy for you just the same!

Jomae
- My Evie seems unsettled sometimes, too. She's a good baby, but about 2x a day she gets cranky. Usually it's right after a long quiet and alert period so I think she gets overtired but I'm not sure.

Loopie - You poor thing! Glad you got a diagnosis and are getting some treatment.

Weezie - That must be so hard. Hope you guys are doing ok.

I picked up a vmail from my fertility clinic today. They want to know how things turned out. I guess this is for their statistics. Anyone else talked to their clinic.

I am going to set up a phone consult for baby #2. It's hard to imagine right now but I need to know when to stop lactating so that I can cycle w/them soon. Who else is plunging back in? Rio, I thought you were gonna be trying again soon. Is that still the plan? Anyone else?

Hello ladies. Well, since my little guy is a Fall baby, I thought I would join you all. Noah Christian just turned 11 weeks this week and I just have to keep telling you all how much easier it gets. I posted on your thread once before as I sometimes have jumped on and read your stories. But I just want you all to hang in there as I know I am extremely lucky to have such a good baby and one that started sleeping through the night at 8 weeks....but still - the first 4-6 weeks were just nuts. My husband and I were just running on empty some days and I had a terrible time with breast feeding. We later found out that I literally was not producing any milk and I had to give it up. I cried and cried. But you know what? IT IS FINE! Noah has yet to get sick and he spends 2 1/2 days a week at a babysitter where there are 3 kids (ages 4,3 and 10 months). So, I don't remember which one of you had some major issues with the breast feeding, but don't beat yourself up! Most of us were not breast fed and we turned out ok. It was hard for me to accept, but I am so ok with it now. Noah is thriving!

Anyway, just wanted to say hello and introduce myself and join you ladies. Also, several of the women on our August thread had depression issues and got on meds. It happens! Having a baby is emotional and draining and let's not even go there with what it does to our bodies!! So, Suga - good for you in doing what you need to do for yourself. I am sure you will start feeling better soon. I know the ladies in the Aug group are doing much better now.

I need to get back to work, so take care all and I look forward to trading stories with you all. Hang in there!! You will be amazed how much better everything is once you get close to the 3 mos mark. It is amazing.
