Hello ladies,

I just found it sad that the thread kept getting lower and lower on the forum! :) So I thought I'd pop in and say hi!

Becky,
How is your health sweetie? Did you take those antibiotics? You know, it would have some advantages... my clinic's new protocol has us take antibiotics before each ER and ET, daddy too (before ER). I really hope you'll start feeling better soon!

Miracle,
Hey sweetie! How are you doing? I was so happy to read your news, I'll pm you back real soon!

Carolyn,
Way to go on the Spain clinic! Prague doesn't deserve your money! ;) I'm keeping everything crossed and I hope you'll have an amazing trip!

Angel,
Beck said you were sick? Aw, I,m sorry to hear that! But I also read that your stimming, so grow follies, grow! Lots of sticky baby dust to you!

Shantala, Lara, it's great to hear from you! :)

Big hugs, have a great weekend and...

Emily and Ryan have made a surprise visit.

Post by stephjim »

Hello all. I am sorry I have not been in for a while but I wanted to let everyone know that my precious babies have been welcomed into world unexpectedly. I will go into the full story another time, but I had sudden onset of SEVERE preclampsia and it was already effecting my kidneys and Ryan's amniotic sac, so they took them out on Monday the 27th. They are both in the NICU still and thriving. Ryan was 4 pounds 15 oz and Emily was 3 pounds 15 oz. Ryan is now on nasal canula but did make it to the ventilator for a couple of days (hardest days of my life) and Emily is on room air already. Not sure how long they will be there, but I don't want them to come home unless they are ready. I am a nurse but not capable of taking care of a really sick baby. I will post pics soon and give the whole story soon, but wanted to let everyone know they are beautiful and the best thing that ever happened to me and I can't imagine my life without them, although I do miss them kicking me. :)

Here is the full story. On the 26th of October, I had to rush to the hospital because I had a blood pressure of 160/100. I got there they checked my urine and I had +3 protein in my urine. (severe preclampsia). This happened all of a sudden. I had no idea it was going on. The only indication, besides my massive cankles, was that my fluid on Ryan's sac was low but the doc just told me to drink fluids and it should take care of it and come back in a week. Well the fluid I was drinking was just going to my legs. We found this out because on the 27th, they checked my fluid level again and it was dangerously low and within 2 hours I was in the OR and they were taking both babies out. Oh and both were breech so I had no chance of delivering vaginally. Emily was 3 pounds 14 oz and Ryan was 4 pounds 14 oz. They are both still in the NICU and growing strong. They are both on room air and starting to take the bottle. Hopefully will only be there another week.

So I got out of the hospital on Friday the 31st at night and then Sunday morning I woke up and could not breath and it sounded like I was passing a bucket of water through my lungs. My husband called 911 and they got me to the hospital. Well at first they were thinking CHF or pulmonary edema with the preclampsia. Basically the fluid all over my body, especially my legs, shifted to my lungs. They gave me Lasix to make me pee stuck a catheter in my bladder and it cleared up the fluid. I was breathing and I felt a lot better. However my Cat Scan showed right lung infiltrates consistent with pneumonia. So they started treating me for that. Oh and every health care workers nightmare, I also found out that I am colonized, not infected, with MRSA in my nose. Which means I am a carrier right now. Isn't that special? So I get to bathe in the stuff surgeons wash their hands with for a week. Well anyways, I just got out of the hospital last night. The only thing that kept me going through all of this was that my precious babies are doing well and we home just one more week in the NICU. I hope to have more pics here soon too send out.

I will be posting pics here in a second.

Hey there Becky,

I didn't mean to go MIA during tmt as you well know how much the support means. But, AF arrived late (only does this during tmt - otherwise I'm regular like clockwork). Then I had my baseline scan and they found a small cyst. It wasn't of any concern, but they opted to delay stimming by 2 days to allow the cyst to go away. The stimming left me quite ill as usual. In spite of the high doses, I only managed to get 4 eggs out of which 2 fertilised, so no frosties for me once again :( . On the bright side, at least I had some to transfer.

ER left me feeling yucky. I was in so much pain and had some blood discharge. I couldn't even walk straight. Still in pain. The ER said it hapens sometimes and is not concerned about it. I'm supposed to drink lots of fluid and take painkillers.

I'm going to get my precious embies on board today - 1.30. Really excited and nervous.

Sorry about the me...me...me post.

So how is it going with you? Have you started stimming yet? Everything is going to work out well for us this time :D

Hiya honey Xxx

Is ok, i totally understand u being MIA hun, i know sometimes when ur having tmt it is easier to stay away and concentrate on getting urself thru it ... no worries on that score hun :)

Sorr u had so much trouble throughout the tmt, its bad enuff we have to go thru it without having the hassle of being ill while getting there...

But hey ho .... 2 embies to put back today :D thats fantastic hun .... really good news to hear that. I know u wanted frosties, but hopefully ur not gonna need them right??? By 1.45 today ur gonna be PUPO, thats all that counts now, just u rest up and take it easy Xx

As for me ... i started stimms on Tuesday, so only 4 days ago ... but can already feel summit going on in there. I have my scan on Monday hopefully there will be some nice follies in there. And then all being well, im in for EC Monday week (17th) i cant belive how quickly this has gone this time for me ... when i had my d/r scan, they also told me i had fibroids (ffs) nothing is ever easy is it ... i dont have a clue what this means for ivf, but they didnt seem too concerned, said that they were very small .... will wait and see the outcome of that.

Oh im so excited for u hun, are u on a 2 or 3 day transfer??

Xxxxx

Hiya - its a 2 day transfer. After EC, the RE said that he wasn't too sure about the quality and therefore couldn't promise me if we'd have any embies. It made me feel so  But the next morning I woke up feeling really optimistic and just knew in my heart that that out of the lot there will be at least one little fighter. And I was so calm  that I didn't even bother calling for a fertility report  . And I was right - my little ones were there waiting for mommy :D . You're so right, who needs the frosties?????

Its a good sign you are feeling some action. I'm sure you'll see some nice follies at your scan on Monday.
