There is someone named Carisa on here, I think that is using a gestational carrier.

Wow Stephjim!! Your babies are so beautiful!!! Your boy is so blond!! You must be so proud. I'm glad all three of you are ok and I wish you and your new family all the best in the world.

Sweetmomi: Carisa and Crogers are using GC's. If you move through the thread a bit you'll find them and then mayne you can PM them.
I'm glad to see that your thinking about the future and what's next for you. Did the dr's say that you can't carry anymore and that's why your looking into this? Because I know that once an incompitant cervix is diagnosed it's easily treated so that the next pregnancy isn't lost. It's unfortunate that we have to go through 1 loss first to know that that's the case.

they say they can help me carry but with stitch and then bedrest the reminder of the pregnancy. I am not saying no to it, it's just that I am not sure I am tough enough to go through it after such a tradegy of losing 3 babies in the way that I did. I have joined IC groups and many are on bedrest for 6 months, etc. I am not sure I have the mental and emotional strength to do that. I am very strong but that just terrifies me. My sister in law has offered, we have embryos frozen, so I am thinking of taking her up on it.

I would have done it sooner, but because if our financial situation we had to wait about 7 months.

we have 2 frosty embies. Meet with RE next week. he will help me determine if we pay for sis in law to try or me, or what we should do. I would start today if I could. That would help me so much. But the earliest is January per Doc.

Yeah. Your body's been through a lot, you need time to heal. But you'll see, as soon as you begin to make the plans to try again and your moving forward you'll feel so much better. I know I did.

hi I'm back!

Post by stefanie »

Hey guys -

stepjim - congrats on the cuties, and thanks for posting your story. We will all benefit from knowing the signs.

That is where I am w/ all the scary stuff. I'm trying to be brave and read it and know all the signs, so that I can know to get to the hosptial or call the doc right away in case they can hold off preterm labor. I read more about people NOT knowing the signs and delivering TOO early. knowing the signs can help us buy 2-4 extra weeks if we get the docs help. I am someone who fears 'seeming neurotic' and I have a high tolerance for pain and stuff, so this was all good for me to read.

I've been good. Sleeping a lot and growing and just waiting for that next appointment. 11/24

Professionally things are going really well, and I am just so humbled by the amount of good news.

three cheers for stepjim and the cuties.

getting there

Post by Literatriz »

Hi all,
I've wrote a reply...and lost it - not having much pacience lately. Getting bigger, heavier and less energetic by the day. But the good thing is, our babies are coming. Congratulations Stephjim! They look wonderful, after the big scare. I hope you are doing fine and thanks for the suggestion on measuring blood pressure; DH just bought me one.
Stefanie, even when we read a lot of books...we still face the unknown. The important thing is not to make decisions alone, call the doctors. I was a bit shy about that but after sharing Stephjim story...won't be anymore.
SilverAngel, good luck with your second level ultrasound! Hope all fears get behind you and you write again to us letting us know more about your tiny ones.
Jenniferpd, you've had good advice on bleeding. I've had some problems not because of sex but due to vaginal varicose vains. They give that umcomfortable feeling when you sit - anyone having the same?
My thoughts are still with our sweetmommy - it is nice to know that she is ready to restore her hopes.
Be well!

sex

Post by stefanie »

Hey -

I just thought I'd chime in on the sex thing. we are not having sex at all. But we've been very affectionate and I have tried not to neglect my husband's needs. (Not easy when I fall asleep at about 9:30 every night)

we were told not to have sex until 12 weeks from our RE.
Then I ended up bleeding in the ER and I was put on Pelvic rest.
Then our OB said no sex after week 20 because of premature labor.

so we had a laugh and realized we'd have sex again in 2009!

I try to be affectionate and intimate and keep DH feeling appreciated. Also, after all we have been through and spent, he is totally on board with this.

anyway, that's our story and why we're just not going to risk it. It's very high school w/ kissing and petting and Hopefully we'll be fine. I know we will, we're just so darn happy and grateful to be pregnant and to be given this chance.
