Hi all -

crogers - I agree 100% on everything you said. I too dont have much to say but read everything. As for my c-section my OB gave me a few dates to pick from about two weeks ago. I mean from the start she told us it would be around 37 weeks as that is her norm for taking multipules. If I carry that long. As of right now I show no signs of trouble and my cervix is shut tight so who knows my be Ill go the 37wks.
Oh and yes I feel the one on the right all day everyday non stop. But the one on the left no so much. I was worried at first but then at my last peri I asked why and found out that the one on the left is facing inward so his legs are kicking in rather then out. Made sense I guess.

Well I am at work and it sucks nothing to do today as the boss is out of town. I can not wait until I am out of here for leave but as it looks I think I might stay until the new years.

Hey Crogers,
My little boy is on the right too, and the girl on the left. I feel the boy/right side way way more than the left. They were both moving around on the ultrasound and I didn't really feel much then, but the last week or so I've felt a LOT of kicks and stuff, but def. more on the right. Good luck with your baby shower!

I am going to try for a vaginal birth as well - or at least the OB hasn't said anything about dates and things, or c-sections, so I think their policy is whatever you are able to safely do with the position of the babies. Hmm, I really need to ask them!!

Enjoy your shower too Genessa, I hope you get lots from your registry, or at least things with receipts so you can take them back if you like. How exciting to have an actual date!!

Ftg, have a great date tomorrow! Me and DH go out fairly regularly for dinner, but not really a formal date thing - that would be nice....you're right, soon enough there will be none of that for a loooong time!!

angram - cool you can see the kicks too! Hope your OB appt. went well. How often are you having them? We are still every 4 weeks.

Well, as of now, the crappy panelling is off the walls, we have bought a ton of drywall and 2 x 4s, and a bunch of other stuff courtesy of home depot, and this weekend it should start going up. Maybe in a few weeks we'll have an actual baby room with a door!! We bought the first thing for the babies today, we found a really cute ceiling hugger fan with pink and blue blades - perfect for our little boy n girl's nursery!

take care all :D

Hello ladies,
Had a scare on Weds afternoon/eve. I went to receive my package spa half day my lovely DH got for me for having his child. All went great, and the place was very nice. In the middle of the day they offered me a meal, which I knew I would have to have because of the amount of time I was there. I had a normal turkey & cranberry sandwich, nothing out of the ordinary. During the last part of my services before I left, I noitced my belly starting to bloat, guts twisting, and I was feeling bad. I got to the parking garage to head home, and only hoped I didn't hurl before I got there. Got home - total diarrhea and projectile vomiting. Nothing let up, and I had to get my husband from work. We went to the ER where after several bouts of getting it out of both ends, 2 liters of IV fluid and 2 kinds of anti-nausea meds at 11:30pm, we headed home.

Needless to say, I am still under the strain of diarrhea, and cancelled dinner for tonight. I only want to get better, but boy was I scared. I had slight contractions as they monitored baby from dehydration. I am feeling much less pain now, but am only hoping this passes quickly. I consider myself to have an iron stomach, but definitely complained to the spa, and have a call back in to the deli where they order their food from. My mind fast forwarded to salmonella, e.coli, etc. A lovely time my DH wanted me to have, and he felt so bad I couldn't enjoy its effects! I just want our boy to be a-ok and I know I'll mend.

ftg - How horrible that you got so sick, I'm sorry to hear that...a bit scary too. I hope you get to feeling better soon!!

Jude - Congrats on the baby room, I hope you guys get lots done this w/e. My OB has mentioned c-section once, but only if our little girl continues growing as quickly as she has been. I'm cool either way, just want us to both have a safe delivery. I'm still going every 4 weeks, but think after the next one (week 27) I start going every 2-3 weeks and then every week towards the end. I don't mind cause I love hearing her beautiful HB :) My OB said we'll have another u/s in the beginning of the 3rd trimester and one towards the end, since she's getting so big, but we may actually pay for the 3/4D one in the next couple of weeks so we can see her again.

Gennessa - I think DH and I should also sign up for a baby basics class, because I'm pretty sure he's never changed a diaper in his life and he needs to learn ASAP :) I hope your baby shower is great this weekend and get lots of great stuff from your registy. Maybe people have purchased stuff off of it, but haven't scanned it? Or maybe they purchased it somewhere else..either way, I hope you get more than clothes.

crogers - How exciting to have your 1st baby shower this weekend, let us know how it goes!

I can't remember who asked about maternity leave, but I'm planning to work right up to delivery (ok, maybe work from home more in the last month) and then I'm taking 3 months off. I would love to take more time, even unpaid, but don't think my group could handle more than the 3 months. After that I'm planning to work from home 2 days and go in the office 3 days a week, so hoping that works out. As of now, I'm just counting the days to being off for so long :)

Glad to hear everyone is doing well and the bellies are progressing nicely :) Have a terrific weekend!!

Hi ladies - Great to hear how everyone's doing! Lots of showers right now for all of you - that is so exciting! I have two showers scheduled in January...but I don't think they will be very big - one of you will have 52 people at your shower??? Holy cow! I guess since my family is in Minnesota, DH's family is in NJ, and our friends are scattered all over God's country, it is a bit harder for us. Hoping we get the basics we need and can fill in from there. Luckily, we have already gotten several things from my brother, and my other sister-in-law offered to make me a bed skirt (I'm not getting a full crib set - all I want is a cute bed skirt) that will adjust in length as we lower the crib mattress...she also offered to make curtains, but I might try to do that myself. Also, today, I went with a friend to a Mom-to-Mom sale...it was like a big baby rummage sale. I wasn't looking for anything specific...they had a lot of clothes, but I'm not focused on clothes right now. I did end up buying a car seat base that was basically new for $10...but that's it. My main concern is furniture, and that's something DH and I need to figure out soon. Also need to pick out some fabric for the curtains/skirt.

I am 23 weeks on Monday...still a bit behind most of you...I truly look pregnant now, which is a relief since it just looked like my fat belly had been getting fatter. DH is excited every time he sees me wearing something that allows my belly to protrude (vs. the normal hooded sweatshirt and PJ bottoms that I bum around the house in). :D

Thanks for the info on what is happening at your OB appointments. I'm doing a urine test every time, they check my weight, and they listen to the HB, but that's it. Is the urine test how they check your iron? Anyway - we went back for our follow-up U/S last Wednesday and got confirmation that we're having a girl...they said the heart checked out ok (that was a huge relief, since I'd been worrying about it for three weeks!)

Like Angram, I am planning to work through my pregnancy until delivery...I spend a lot of time in the car, though, so we'll see how it goes. I can't afford to take time off in advance (although the idea sounds heavenly!). Actually, my boss told me this week that she wants me train a new person we just hired for Dallas. Dallas! She said "I already told her she will have to travel more to you than you travel to her." Great. I don't mid training our new people, but it is a big commitment...a 12-WEEK TRAINING PROGRAM! I don't have to be with her the entire 12 weeks, but it's a lot of time spent with her and also spent coordinating her travel and training with others. Plus, it's over the holidays, so that might make it difficult to set her up with others, as they will be taking vaca, etc. Ahhh...fun. Heavy sigh.

Anyway - hope you are all having a good weekend. I am still feeling stuffed up and exhausted as the result of a cold I got two weeks ago...trying to force myself to slow down...which is hard since I work for Target and we are headed into our busiest time of year!

Wishing you all a happy Saturday...

Hugs,
Jen

Adsgirl-congrats on your girl! There is some serious girl power going on this year. Now you can really plan your nursery if you want, and know more of what to get for her. :) Glad to hear all is going well. I also knew someone who worked for Target years ago, and they were great with her maternity load, and maternity leave. Since I hail from MN, I of course stay loyal out here in WA, although there are no Supertargets in this market

Hey Ladies--

Glad to hear that everyone is doing well. Ang-- how was your shower?

Ads--glad to hear the confirmation of your little girl!

As for me.....we finished the nursery today. I love it! I still have some shelves to hang, but for the most part, it is done. DH spent the weekend painting last weekend and we put the room together today. It feels so good to have it finished. My goal was before the holidays, so that left me with next weekend too, but I'm having one of my showers so I won't have that much time! Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Neffi - I'd love to hear a description of what you did in the nursery! Can you tell us a little about it? Colors, furniture, etc...

ftg - No SuperTargets where I am in WI, either...and there are none in NJ where I was previously working with Target. I have STs in my territory (Chiacgo-land), but none that I shop at. Since I'm in the field, and my movements are not really tracked, I do know that I will have quite a bit of flexibility, even when I'm back FT. Where in MN are you from? I grew up in the Twin Cities (St. Paul side).

Jude - What about your nursery? How's it going? What does it look like?

How many of you all are planning to have baby in your room during the first few months?

Hey Ads--

I did my nursery very simple. I am not a fan of themes......and I like neutral colors. I wanted a warm and inviting feeling for our nursery. I painted a medium neutral color(tan) on three walls, and then did an accent wall of blue. My bedding is simple blue/brown...it came with everything including curtains. I got furniture from Graco. A convertible crib and a changing table that is more like a set of drawers that I will put the changing pad on top. I have a glider in the corner and I have an old antique cradle that was my dad's filled with blankets and my old stuffed animals. Above the crib I have three frames that hang on ribbons in a triangle shape. There are no pictures in them becasue we are waiting for Jackson to be born and my dad is going to take close of black and white photos of feet and hands.... Oh and we have a three shelf bookcase with frames and little things....book, etc. Good luck with your nursery. I do plan on having him in my room the first couple weeks, but I will try his crib ASAP

Neffi-your nursery sounds like a great thing to get checked off your list, and now you can relax and enjoy the rest of what's to come!

Ads-I grew up in Richfield (Mpls side), bordered by Mpls, the airport, Bloomington, and Edina. Yeah, our slight supertarget here has to do :)

I also plan on keeping our son in our room, however only for weeks not months. Because of my DH taking almost 6 wks to help, bond, and get things rolling and because I'm quite positive a c-sect is in store it will be easier on all. I too will go to the crib as soon as possible.

Hi all -

Well I dont know about you but I am exhausted. This past weekend did me in. On Saturday we had a surprise b-day party for my sister with 40+ people and on Sunday was my babyshower with 40+ people. It drained me. I feel asleep at 9pm last night. And today I am just cranky. I think work it starting to get to me.

Any-ho. My shower was wonderful all my family and friends came together and we have a nice time. And what great things they brought. We are all set to go. Of course we will have to exchange/return a few things but I am really blessed to have so many people around me.

Like neffi our nursery is pretty much done as well. We have a crib from my sister and I bought a tall dresser and a changing table. Oh and I have a glader from my other sister. All of it is a light honey color. We painted the room in greens. The bottom is a avacado then there is a white chair rail and the top is a very light soft green. It looks great. And then we decided on an animal theme. So we got a crib set of forest aniamls is a deep color no pastels. But thats about it.

As for keeping the twins in our room. We will be getting a bassinet and I think Ill keep them close for a while to make is easier on nursing but well play it by ear. IT sounds like every one is doing well. Which is wonderful. We have an OB appt on Thursday and our next perni appt on Dec 1st.

Oh and we have our last baby class this Thursday but I think we are going to pass on it as its the CPR/First aid part and well I teach that class. So we might not go. Well see.

OK back to work

Hi all!! Sounds like most of you have your nursery done. Boy, I wish I even have gotten started.

Genn- Thats great you had such a good shower and got lots of stuff.

We had our shower(s) this weekend. Just got back into town last night. We left Friday, it was originally going to be late on Friday, but turns out as I walk into the door at work Friday I got laid off. I knew it was coming because my boss has been yelling for the last month that she had to lay someone off and she couldnt and loose me to 12 weeks maternity leave, so I knew they were going to choose me.
Anyho, the showers were good. I didnt get as many clothes as everyone said I was going to, it was mostly all 0-3 mo, so I am going to return 1/2 of them for some 3-6 & 6-9, plus I got some duplicate oufits. I got some good things like bouncer, swing, mobile, bedding set, changing pad and money. We got enough money to cover the car seat and stroller and some smaller items. So in the end (besides furniture) we will only have to spend about $100 out of our pocket so that is pretty good!!
OMG!!! I need to take a picture of the crib my dad made and post, it is just awesome!!!! I cant wait to start working on the nursery. My dad is bringing the crib down to me Thanksgiving weekend and we pipck up the dresser then as well, so once Dec hits, I will be in full force working on the nursery.

I's love to do more personals, but I have an apt with eeoc!!

Take care, glad to read all is well with everyone!!!

Dakota,

I did not know in this country any company can lay off preg women, that is so cruel! Glad that you are so calm with it though.

Happy to know many of you had wonderful baby shower already. I enjoyed mine two years ago also, but this year, I don't think that we are getting one and I don't want one either.

Take care everyone here!

Holy crap, Dakota - My jaw dropped when I read your last post. I am SO sorry to hear about your job loss, but it strikes me as absolutely out of line. You mentioned you were going to meet with the EEOC...are you going to file a claim? I'm just shocked. You seem much calmer about the whole thing than I would be...What an unnecessary stress to have to go through at this already stressful time. Hope you're finding comfort in the fact that your baby is still growing strong...wishing all the best for you, and please keep us posted. Also - would love to see the crib!

All is well here, finally getting over my two week miserable cold...hopefully with a relaxing weekend I'll be back to my normal pregnant self for Thanksgiving.

Ladies, I had to crash your thread and wish congrats to my girl Neffi. I don't know how I missed your announcement, or maybe I didn;t and I just forgot.

We were on the dec/jan 07 thread together, and I am so glad to see your good news. I get so excited when I see the familiar names with great news. I hope your pregnancy is going well so far and your bean will be here before you know it!

My beautiful girl was born on 8/26 and is almost 3 months old. (I can't believe it!) If you would like to see her, you can visit her website. Go to Ellamichele.shutterfly.com (type it just like it is, no www in the front)

I will continue to follow your story, answer any questions anyone might have. Congrats to all of you ladies on making it to this point in this crazy journey...
