I have gotten my AF before the beta, I have also had spotting when PG before the beta. The main difference is that the AF was thready if you know what I mean and the spotting was pink and only when I wiped! I hope you are doing OK Rhonda!!

I had an E2 of 700 today which is good as it doubled again.

I have now 5 follies in the running at 17, 17, 17, 15 and 13 with a few 10s in there. Likely will trigger tomorrow! I got in in the am to do another scan and blood test. Its funny as even if you have several follies they really need to be clustered!

I hope these guys are awesome!

Lynnie with that E2 you should have 5 eggs, right? Or just 5 mature follies. I don't know diddley about ivf. I suck.

Rhonda, if you are spotting it could be implantation spotting. Hang in there sister. HUGS

Kelly,

I found a forumla on line that these guys devised for calculating E2. I plugged in my numbers and it came out right. I think its something like this:

291 + 180 * (# of follies over 17) + 54 * (# of follies between 15 and 16) and 18 * (# of follies under 14, but above 10) = E2

Anyway something like that. So if I have 5 over 17 it 1130 or so and with my number yesterday it should be 900 -- so mine was low according to this formula. However I think they are referring to the final number before trigger. I would have to go find that again on the web somewhere. Oh and who knows if they are even right! People often say 200 per mature follicle. So if I have 5 mature on trigger day my E2 should be 1000. The other thing they say is that it should double every other day. Mine has usually done a good job with that except on my first cycle (the best one)! Go figure!

You know tons about IVF for someone who has not gotten started yet! Remind me...why are you waiting? Just getting ready, doing DHEA? A friend has Sher tell her to drop the DHEA and start something else though I forget the name ... something that is suppose to be an anti aging drug...

NY -- I looked it up in my email. He suggested she take Resveratrol. You can ask of post about it. I know nothing about this one!

So got my estrogen and instructions for today. E2 was 900 ( a little lower than I wanted ) but my follicles looked good -- I think they should have triggered me, but they are having me wait! So I am now worried about losing my top two follies. Ugh.

Here it is:

Right: 15.8, 13

Left: 20.8, 20.2, 17, 17, 11.2

Kind of weird as one of my 17s did not grow. However, it was the weekend sonographer and I watched her measure and she does not pick the widest parts the way the usual woman does (Margaret), so I am not sure about the sizes.

I think this doctor is trying to get the 13 into the game...

Lynnie: Do you think you will be doing a day 3 or 5 transfer? MY center likes to go to day 5, they feel if they are normal they will make it to day 5 blast. However other RE's feel it is better to have the embies in a natural enviroment rather then a dish growing. I have only had day 5 hatching blast and as we all know so far so good.

I will say extra prayers in church for you tomorrow that all your follies are mature and fertilise. You are such a sweetheart and deserve this happiness.

AWWW thank you!

I have only done 3 day transfers. I will most likely do 3 days and they will put all back. I think they will put back up to 6, but the most I ever had was 5. Even if I get everything, I would have 7 and then we would probably have to chose the top 6....

I am expecting/hoping for 3 grade 1s!

Lynnie, this is getting exciting. I am waiting because i just decided to do ivf in Oct. and the Dec. cycle was full. That means Jan. was the quickest i could get in.

I am taking DHEA. I know SIRM doesn't like it. Noe of the docs do. My docs knows i am on it. He didn't tell me to stop. I would have told him no. I have been on it for several months now and i will not stop until after my first retrieval....maybe.

I hope Rhonda is okay. I wish she would check in.

I will post more later.

Hugs, Kelly

The 'ideal' size of follicles varies by patient, and different centres have different criteria for how follicles are measured...so there is no perfect score.

I have seen patients achieve pregnancy from follicles as small as 14mm and as large as 27mm.

That said, of course, we try to optimize cycles by triggering ovulation at the best possible moment.

During my training, a decade ago now (!), I was taught that the ideal follicle sizes were 20 to 23mm. More recently, some European centres are suggesting that the lead (largest) follicle be no more than 17mm on the day of the HCG trigger shot.

I believe the truth is somewhere in between, and am happiest when the bulk of follicles are 16mm or larger.

(Yes, they continue to grow).

Yours,

Tom Hannam

Got beta

Post by krisnerol »

I went for beta test today, my DD's 7th birthday, and it came back at 259 (today is 16dp3dt) and they said that looks good. I go back Wednesday to make sure #'s are doubling. Sounds like one baby? We just pray it sticks and is healthy. I'm very crampy--sound normal?
