Hi everyone,
First, thanks SilverAngel for reconnecting me with this list of moms of multiples. I have been a bit tired and still working - that takes time off things I really enjoy doing, such as maintaining this connection with IVFers turning into mothers.
I've tried the Todarotwins but it has expired. Are you going to renew it? Let us know!
Stephjim, I am glad you and your baby are OK after the high blood pressure scary moment. Thanks for the recommendation - a friend of mine didn't check her blood pressure and went through a lot. Happy endings, but still...we dont' need that, right?
Babyloves, perineatologists are quite mandatory when multiples are expected, due to the increased risk. When the mother lives far away, the obgy consults with the peri but...when we are nearby we check with them periodically. The cervix is measured to verify if we are not starting the delivery process prematurely (the cervix shortens and efaces way before we start feeling the labor contractions). It is not a pleasant feeling, especially when the babies are "right down there" but...it is for a good cause - such as your wonderful baby girls.
Speakig of girls...they say we are having 3 girls. I am not so sure as I saw a friend of mine buy everything pink after her sophisticated 4-D ultrasound only to receive a wonderful baby bow a few months later. Any stories like that? We are happy with whomever comes in!
Carissa, Crogers...I am so far behind with my baby shower...your posts left me more motivated!
Have a great week,
Luciana

Babies A and B are the stronest measured right on target with strong HB's, baby C was a day short and sac was smaller and heart rate a bit less. I do hope she holds on....
We are expecting in July and are so excited. I look forward to sharing this journey with you all

literatriz and stephjim:
thanks for the advice about the peris...since i'm working now, its harder to see both the ob and the peri - it seems the ob doesn't do much except doppler for their HBs, but maybe i'll ask her to check the discharge for a yeast infection...its not a thin liquid and i'm not having pressure so hopefully all is fine. i thought our troubles ended after the 1st trimester, but now PROM, pre-term labor, delivery issues are again things to worry about...trying to not think about it too much and just enjoy the moment!
Stephjim: since you've already had ur babies...can i ask if you were put on bedrest at all? i'm wondering if my peri will do that even without cervival shortening...he seems conservative as he told me to stop the prenatal yoga (its really gentle)!
Hi guys - I'm back after a week or two away. Glad to see everyone is well. I will have to read the thing about Peri's and Obs. I was sad that we just had the doppler last time. Our anatomy scan (20 weeks) is two weeks away. I will feel better then.
Much Hope - welcome! I said congrats on the other thread, but what the heck...congrats again. Yeah, due dates are weird. My 40 week one is 5/3 but I just finally started telling folks, "sometime in April." Although a good due date might help me mentally these days.
Stepjim - hope you had a lovely 1st holdiay w/ the kiddies.
hi all! mind if we join your board? we just found out we are having twins!! we are 7w1d along and so so excited!
it's so nice to be able to talk to others expecting double/triple trouble
kb2131: Welcome!! So scary and exciting at the same toime to find out your having more than one baby isn't it? Let me know your due date and I'll add you to our due date ticker page on page 11. Once again, welcome and CONGRADULATIONS!!!!!!
KB2131 - welcome! are you seeing a regular OB yet? soon?
I was so thrilled to get twins. after 2 years and turning 40 we had very slim chances of even having one w/ my diagnosis. this is such a blessing. The first trimester is a little scary after IVF... sometimes more spotting or bleeding and that can be totally normal, or it was for me.
I just started my second and now it's about trusting that this is really happening and that it's going to be okay (so hard for those of us who have been through a lot)
also, I recommend a good book on twin pregnancy. You need to eat more and rest more and possibly do less than in a regular one. I read "when you're expecting twins, triplets or quads" byt Dr. Luke. I recommend getting one soon. Extra calcium, iron, folic and omegas too. It's hard if you are queasy the first trimester, so make sure you address this stuff w/ the doc. you have two fabulous little ones forming all their vital parts right now.

LOL, i do the same. My 40 DD is april 14th. But I just say "The end of march" for the most part. It stinks not knowing about when these babies can be born. We really can only guess. I know my boys are mesuring a little big for their age, at 19 weeks they where 10 and 11 oz's when they where only supposed to be between 8-9 oz's each.
silver angel - that's great! big for their age is GOOD news. mine were before and I hope they still are. I haven't seen them in 6 weeks and I'm dyin'! 2 more weeks. we get spoiled w/ IVF that we get to see them so much, and now it's that mid preganacy thing...grrr.

They're big because my family is full of fat italian people so they're fat Italian babies...lol. Just kidding. No we're happy with big. Just not too big that they run out of room too fast. I want to keep them in there as long as possible.
hi ladies, so i had my 20 wk, 4 dy US and they both look great! Michael is measuring at 20 weeks, 4 days 14 oz and Sophia is 20 weeks and 12 oz. BUT when they measured my cervix it went from 3.5 to 1.3 so i am on complete bed rest until delivery AND if its gets shorter then they will pply hospitalize me. YIKES! so thats the deal. i am bummed BUT I know that i must do whatever i hav eto for my angels.
Had twins
Michael
4lbs 12oz, 17 3/4" long
Sophia
3lbs 9oz, 16" long

babylove, I was not put on bed rest but I was taken out of work at 25 weeks because I am a nurse. I probably should have stayed off my feet more, but I did listen to my body and got off of them when I needed to. Then at 33weeks 6 days my bp shot up unexpectedly and the babies came the next day. So I avoided bedrest. Hope you do too.
