Hey Gals
Hope all is well. I had a good scan yesterday and the girls are fine and my uterine lining is fine

I kinda figured as much but It was nice for the reassurance after the fall! Thanks for asking Val:) Since allot of us are talking symptoms lately I thought I would make a list of all of mine and what I did since becoming PG. I know we are all differant and some of us who may be early in pregnancy may benefit from this and those that are cycling may know more of whats normal and what they might expect. I have had allot of symptoms even though I have not shared them all. Some of the symptoms for me have been allot worse then others, but the nausea and m/s were the only ones that really knocked me off my feet and made me out of my mind, so in comparison, all the rest for me are just annoying or uncomfortable. I hope those who are early in pregnancy or cycling dont ever expereince such bad m/s. So heres my list and how I managed:
Morning Sickness from 6.5 weeks until around 15.5 weeks :
How I managed: I was put on the drug zofran cause it was really bad, but alhtough it helped tremedously I still suffered and the drugs caused me severe constipation. I also ate a bland diet, such as crackers, pasta etc and had to have something in my stomach at all times or I would suffer more. I had a very diffcult time eating allot of differant foods and the only thing I craved for protien for the very frst few weeks was cheeseburgers. I was completelty miserable, and my freinds, family and DH said I l looked like a really bloated ghost, and that I was incoherent allot. I wanted nothing to do with the world and could hardly carry a conversation!! For the constipation, I used 200 mg of colace everyday, and tried to increase my fiber intake with food items such as: high fiber bread, vitalicious muffins, as much water as I could possibly consume even though that made me nauseated, benefiber powder that I mixed into my water and food, and finally walked as much as I could when I was able too.
Constipation starting around 7 weeks and was under control by 16 weeks]]
This is How I am managed it after m/s subsided; high fiber bread, vitalicious muffins, lots of water, benefiber powder that I mixed into my water foods, walking, wheatgrass protein smoothies, apples, pears, berries and veggies like broccoli, squash etc. Also I stopped taking the zofran around 14-15 weeks and that helped considerably, but I still had some issues. My constipation was a severe case for sure but I think it was allot worse than normal becuase of the zoloft.
Hemmroids starting around 14 weeks and was under control by 17 weeks. This is How I am managing: Tucks Pads, Preperation H, walking, and keeping my high fiber diet so I dont get as constipated. Mine werent as bad as alot of woman, but I had terrible buring and itching. I know TMI, but they really sucked! Mine are almost completey gone and I hope to never ever expereince them again!
Wind /Farts / Gas / Bloating
starting around 6 weeks never goes away
...........sorry if TMI, but this is something I fiind so annoying...it doesnt matter what I do......but it is something I am faced with daily. Some days worse then others and other days very very mild.
Heartburn / Acid Reflux starting at 6 weeks (but I have that under control): This is How I managed; I dont eat anything a few hours before bed, I eat small meals spread throughout day, I dont eat spicey foods or garlic unless I am prepared for the consequences, I chew tums and drink allot of water.I also eat a banana every day, that really seems ot help me too.
Nose Bleeds Starting at 9 weeks:]
This is How I am managing; Vaseline, Saline Nasal Spray, and staying as hydrated. Mine are allot better since doing this, and much less severe and frequent.
Shortness of Breath starting very early because of OHSS but even now thats gone, I still suffer and its more frequent as my belly growsThis is How I am managing; I dont think there is anything you can do for this, at least I have not found anything that helps. The I bigger I get the more frequent it gets. One thing I cant do is get full...so thats one more reason to eat smaller frequent meals. But sometimes when I talk it sounds like I just finsihed excercising, its so strange, and sometimes when you would expect me to suffer from it, like when I go for a hike, I dont have it all. Its not all the time, but its so annoying and uncomfortable!
Braxton Hicks / Round Ligament Pain starting around 7-8 weeks for Round ligament and 15 weeeks for Braxton HicksThis is How I am managing; This is a new one for me and they are becoming more frequent and intense. I just asked my Peri about this yesterday and they said its normal. I am fearful of pre-term labor and since I have no idea what a contraction feels like they told me I would know it and the pain would take my breath away and happen like four times in an hour. If I have anything like severe pain that frequents like four imes in an hour that I should go to ER. I have no wisdom on this or if there is anything we can do for this or whats normal...I would love to hear if any of you know oor could share what to look out for. Like Amanda I have allot of strange feelings, twinges, pulling, and shooting cramping or pains and sometimes downright uncomfortable. It can be scarey sometimes!
Backaches starting around 14weeksThis is How I am managing; I rest when it gets bad........and warm baths are my budddy pal freind. My Peri said I am big for how far along I am, but its not my fault or fat, its my grwing belly. I currently look around 6.5 months along and I will be 5 months on Christams day. I am expereincing all the uncomftable things of carrying allot of wieght already and my DR told me to get a back/belly support brace...Ill keep you guys posted......Keep in mind I had back surgery a few years back, so my back was always a concern. I have a titanium implants becuase I crushed a few discs.
Dizziness And how I am managing : Keeping hydated, getting up slow, and making sure I eat small frequent meals again. As you guys know I fell, but thats because I got dizzy in the dark and lost my footing. I would say that if I wasnt pregnant with all the extra weight I would have caught myslef. I have had like 5 or 6 dizzy spells, but Iam notcing them more now. Some are worse then others. This last one was the first one that made me feel weak in the knees.
Cravings I have no real cravings other than Bazooka Bubble Gum and cheese- I know wiered, But I have noticed I dont like allot of foods and have become a picky eater. Also allot of my past favorite foods dont taste as good and its hard to find things I really enjoy anymore. So i just chew bubble gum, and eat cheese every now and then but must be careful because that can make me constipated , and of course eat as healthy as I can.
Life Safers

I bought the pregnancy wedge and the pregnancy pillow. I was having a hard time sleeping at night and found myslef constantly stuffing pillows between my legs and up by my belly. This one pillow and wedge gives me everyhing I need and they have been worth every penny! Highly recommened if you find your self putting pillows between your legs and around your belly. I also rented a fetal doppler moniter from
www.babybeats.com. If your like me and have a tragic history of multiple miscarrige, then this helped me get through some really rough spots. You have to be at least 10 weeks along, but some woman can hear HB earlier on it. It has been a saving grace for both DH and I...and I love it.
Heres my physical perks to being Preggers :
--My skin broke out early on with terrible pimples, but now my skin, hair and nails looks amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!
--Even though It was a rough road early on, and I am uncomfortable allot, by 16 weeks I started feeling allot better and ready to get back in the game. I am very grateful to have gotten this far even though I have a ways to go. Keep in mind I dont have all these symptoms all the time. It may sound worse then it is, but truth is most of them are just annoying. Morning sickness is just brutal if you get it bad like I did, but the rest are all managable and livable and you have control over most.
So if anyone has any advice or helpful tips I would love to hear them.......One thing I have found is that drinking allot of water does seem to help with everything.
