suga- good luck with south beach...i am a low carber myself. A couple of years ago dh lost about 100 lbs on atkins and i lost about 80. Well, with quitting smoking, and getting pregnant, we put most back on, so we started again this past october. dh is down about 25 and me about 15. I met someone on this board who also has pcos and she is doing very well on low carb too. She is also a blogger on 3fatchicks.com. They have threads on there dedicated to people with pcos trying to lose weight. Also, if you need a low carb recipe for almost anything, just ask. I have done it for so long, I know how to make almost anything. I also use www.lowcarbfriends.com for a lot of recipes.

Hi Moms,

I hope everyone is doing well. We had a fun but tiring Christmas. Three parties in two days proved to be WAY too much for Declan. It took him several days to catch up on his sleep and get back to his normal routine. He did, however, get lots of groovy presents from family and friends! DH and I have had more fun playing with them than he has so far. Some of the toys are for when he is a bit older which is good too. We have also been going out more in general and he is getting used to it. The librarian at my school had twins in Sept. from a FET cycle and we have started hanging out with them a bit. It is fun to take the babies to lunch and shopping together. I feel like I have a bit of a life, you know? Soon I will be brave enough to go out to dinner with the baby.

CT Michelle and sugabeanzs - Declan got a bit constipated when I switched him to the Enfamil AR formula with the rice startch. He normally only poops every other day anyway and then with the new formula it was really hard for him so we started alternating between the Enfamil and the Similac (which doesn't have rice startch) and that seems to help. He gets at least two feedings of the Similac and the rest with the Enfamil. I hope when he starts solids it doesn't get worse. I am SO ready for him to be able to eat! He is really interested in our food and drools all the time so I think he is ready but he isn't 4 months old yet so we are waiting. I think he is about 13 lbs now - he was 11.9 lbs at his two month checkup over a month ago and he has grown out of clothes since then. I wonder what the criteria for eating solids is. Is it their weight or is it their age?

loopie - I am so glad Pulman is doing well! Is he sleeping well? How are you doing?

Jomae - Sorry about the reflux. That has to be hard on her. I think they do grow out of it though. I hope you find a doctor who will be able to help.

Tammy, Mellie- Happy holidays to you all too!

Rio - Where are you girl?! I hope all is well with you and yours.

What is everyone doing for New Year's Eve? DH and I are staying home and will probably be asleep by 9pm. We just can't see staying up late and losing precious sleep time:). I think we will cook a really nice dinner, drink a bottle of champagne and call it a year - and what a GREAT year it turned out to be!

Happy New Year everyone!

Thanks! I will have to go there then to see. Publix did not have it! So hopefully our Target does too....I read that you are not supposed to start them on it till 6 mo (cause of allergies I think?) but our doc said since they have been on rice and no allergy it was fine....

Well, we are off to Grandma #2 house in about an hour....this is a 5 hour trip so I am sure it will turn into 6 1/2 with the feedings and letting them get out of their car seats for a bit...wish us luck!!!

Any of you all having this issue...as you know I do Baby Wise....well, the girls are starting to only take a 30-45 minute morning nap....I thought they were supposed to drop the evening nap first? So they nap in the morning that short one, then two afternoon naps which are about an hour and a half and then one evening nap about 30 minutes. Are they trying to go to two naps so soon? I miss my morning nap!!! lol.

Hey Girls
Still having dramas with katie i just can't get her to drink her bottles i had changed her to a reflux formula which was making her so windy that i'm now trying a new one and this morning she hasn't been quite as windy but i still can't get the amount shes meant to be having into her most times she's happy to drink 75mls and then every bit after is a drama and shes meant to be on 200mls so theres a big difference i tried a colic releif thinking she had belly pain and didn't want to drink because of the wind but it just made her drink less and would then cry at her feeds and then not feed at all so i've stopped giving her that any ideas and suggested would be appreciated.

Congrats michelle on Ellas photo getting chosen

Loopie great to see Pulmans picking up his weight good to hear

Suga i can't really remember for sure but i think ds was only having two naps of about 1 and a half to 2 hours a day at about 4 months as for which nap they drop first i wouldn't have a clue sorry

Gecko great to see you've met someone to lunch with it's nice to get out and have a change of scenary especaially if they have little ones also
Hello everyone i didn't get to mention hope your'e all doing well

Jomae: I dunno what to tell you about formula. Mine are not wanting to drink a lot at the moment either. Maybe it is a stage? Who knows!!!

Yay Michelle with her photo!!!

We are back from the holidays! I am so happy!!! DONE traveling for awhile! woohoo! It was nice that the grandmas got to see the little ones though. Now it is time to unpack and re-organize and put the Christmas tree up!

Brooke is pulling herself up when you hold her hands! She is so strong in her feet! She is still trying to talk but is so limited with it! She likes to look around. Is this bad? Does this mean she has autism? lol. She is just not a talker I suppose! She gets so distracted when she eats and just wants to look around...*sigh* She has also found her hands and likes her thumb. Today she tried to sit up on her own. I need to do more tummy time with them so they can work on rolling and crawling.

Mackenzie is my talker! She talks all the dang time. She does not eat because she wants to talk! I do not know what to do!!! I mean she is only eating like 3 oz at a feed and then stops and I can not make her eat more...she wants to play! What can I do!? Both of them went from 5 oz a feed back to 3! sheesh! She also tried to sit up on her own and tried to roll!!! It was cute!

They are both on oatmeal in their bottles now. The rice was making them too constipated and they hated they way Barley tasted. I suppose it is ok lol. Kenzie is much improved and is back to mushy poops hehe. Brooke is on her way as well.

Well this weekend I start South Beach diet. MIL took a pic of me and I did not even recognize myself!!! So that is it for me! I mean I know I had twins 5 months ago and the fertility treatment made me gain but it is time for it to go! I have never been this heavy! My husband even comments (jokingly but I know he kinda means it) about my stomach and such. Time for my "twin skin" to go away! Only 60 lbs to lose! lol.

Anywhoo, hope you all are doing well! Happy New Years!!!

HELP! lol. Mackenzie is not eating. Not because she is sick or anything like that but is too busy! Too busy looking around, smiling and talking to me, listening to her sister in the background, being kicked by her sister at times (I boppy feed them and when Brooke is done I hold Kenzie to try to get her to eat and Brooke kicks her lol). She went from 5 oz a feed back to 3 oz! She is over 13 lbs so I know she can eat more and should eat more. What can I do? I mean there is no tv on, no radio, just a light. *sigh* then she is way hungry the next feed and is mad but when we go to feed her she will eat the 3 oz then want to play!!! UGH! This morning (after not eating since 2:30AM) she ate 1 1/2 oz! I mean I know she is hungry! Help!

Suga- put out a new thread and see if any other moms have experienced this! how long has this been going on?
i'm sure she is getting most of what she needs even if it is 2-3oz- perhaps it is just a phase, but could be something else altogether - and call your doc! 13lbs- that's awesome!!!
i'm sure you'll get it figured out- but it's got to be frustrating to have one doing great and the other havin a tough time of it

Hi! Sorry I hardly post, but I do try to keep up with everyone!

Suga - Thought I would post to you to tell you not to worry too much. Noah went through this phase, too. A friend of mine had the same thing happen with her baby and the pediatrician said it was totally normal around this age. I guess they go through this time where they just want less to eat at certain times. It freaked us out, too with Noah. All of a sudden he kept pushing the bottle away. It lasted off and on for about 2 weeks and then he went back to finishing his bottle. Sometimes he would only eat 2-3 ounces. He now drinks about 7 ounces every 3.5 - 4 hours. It is weird though, isn't it? But it appears to be normal. Noah now weighs 15 pounds! :)

Ct Michelle - I just had to tell you how grateful I am to you for the post on the monitor that can track their breathing. Noah decided to also roll over fully swaddled onto his stomach and freaked us out! He is also now in sleep sacks and we bought that special monitor and LOVE IT! Noah also decided now he only wants to sleep on his stomach and we are such freaks about SIDS that we just couldn't handle it. With the monitor, we feel so much better!! I had never heard of it until I read your post!! I know after they can roll over on their own onto their stomachs, the risk of SIDS is greatly reduced, but it still worried us. Thank you for posting about the monitor! We have now moved Noah into his own rom in his crib and he is sleeping between 9-10 hours a night. It is such a blessing. Thanks again.

Hi at all the other ladies!!! Take care all! Happy New Year!!

Ok your kiddos sleeping through the night is not fair! lol. I am ready for that!!

We are off to the pedi today because Mackenzie may have pink eye?! WHAT?! I have no idea how she could get that! None of us have it and we wash our hands all the time. Maybe it is just broken blood vessels or something.

Also, (TMI for some so I am sorry do not read if you do not like to hear about poop! lol) I have to talk to the doc. about Brooke. I read up that if a baby is way constipated that it could be an allergy to the milk. Well I had to literally pull poop out of her butt today because she could not push it the rest of the way out! So I am going to tell the doctor today, not ask, tell, that we are changing her formula! I want to put her on something hypoallergenic. Enfamil Nutramigen is what I want her on. I do not care what he/she says. I am seeing a different doctor today than I see normally too. I am asking for a different one because the other doc says it is not an allergy but I am bringing proof with the articles and such!

Anywhoo, I just laid them down for a nap and I need one too!
