Sarahalf~ Of course we all remember you silly! Congrats on you girls! We loved the name Lucy before we had children and not knowing if we would ever have any we named our dog Lucy. Beautiful names for both! Pics dear??? You know how us mommies of twins are! We need a twin baby fix. Keep us posted on the girls!

Suga~ Sorry to hear about your travels being crazy! I am kind of the opposite of Kim here. Last year was a breeze. Sure, you have to lug a lot of loot around but they travel so easy and they can't run everywhere and mine need 5x's the stuff now. I never brought beds for mine until they could roll over. I would just make a bed on a bed and boarder it in or anywhere clean and warm. Now I need high chairs, beds, tons of toys, food, ect. . . I say travel now!!!
Glad the Chiro is working out well. My cousins are Chiro's and they have told me all the amazing benefits of babies seeing them. Too bad they are in Deleware! Hope it keeps working well!

Kimi~ Glad your mom finally made it. Sounds like a trip you could make a movie out of! Can you believe all this snow? Two days ago I couldn't tell my deck from the driveway because of all the snow and snow drifts but now it's raining and I ahve beautiful green grass??? :? Wierd! When I see that daughter of yours smiling on your post I simply want to come take her home! She just gets to me and makes me want a little exact replica! Of course, all the kids are super cute but I'm just smitten with Ali! Can't wait to hear what you are having!

Steph~ BEAUTIFUL pics! The babies seem to be doing so well! YEAH!

We had a pretty icky Christmas day here. All the hype and my babies got up on the wrong side of the crib for sure! They were pretty nasty all day on and off and so we ended up being a little grouchy ourselves. Thank goodness it only lasted a day! Lots of new clothes for the kids and just a few toys. Thank goodness again! We are over run with toys at the moment and could use the clothes.

Better run, I have dinner in the oven and a mess from one end of the house to the other. As usual! Plus, we are heading to the mountains for New Years and I should start packing now so there is any chance at all I will be ready! :D

Have a great day!

Took in Kenzie to the doc...she said it is just the reflux acting up and to increase her meds....UGH when will this reflux go away?! She also stated that she is too backed up and needs a glycerin chip to help things out down there....she said to try Barley cereal instead of rice to see if that will help with the constipation....any one know where to find this? I look at WalMart and they did not have it so I will try Publix. The girls are 13 lbs!!! Hopefully sleeping through the night will happen soon!!!

Suga~ Earth's best has Barley cereal and it's available at organic grocers and Babies r' us here. My babies loved all their cereals and sadly enough still eat it for breakfast so I can slip in the vitamins! 13 lbs. . .. that is amazing!
My little guy was only 17 lbs. at his year check up! :( We hope that kids puts on some weight soon! He eats like a horse but he's so active he just burns it all away. We try to pack it on him but it's hard not to pack it on them both since Annelise is also a great eater but doesn't need more weight. Anyone else have this to deal with? We are going in for check up right after the new year so we'll see what they weigh now. I doubt he's even 19 lbs. though. We'll see????

Better run!

Kholtan---I feel your pain....Braeden is such a skinny kid, even though he's a hearty eater. Although, he's a little heftier than your guy. He ways about 23 pounds now. Ellie has always been heavier than him, and I think it'll be that way for a while....she weighs 25.

If the doctor isn't worried, then I wouldn't be either....I just dread High School! He'll be begging to bulk up, and she'll be dieting.....I can see it now! :?

Kim~ Isn't that the truth! Annelise and Bodie are a little over 1.5 lbs. apart but people always notice and my Dad even calls Annelise "Chubby Cheeks!" She's going to have a complex for sure! Not to mention she ends up with some of the fatty calories we intend for him and he's all go while she'd read all day if you would do it! What can ya do? I still can't get Braeden doing the "Sexy" dance out of my head! He is so cute!

Just got home from a local play area where the kids have certainly brought home germs! Massive amounts of kids since school is out and Annelise even took to a sippy cup of a small boy near by. Gotta love that! 2.5 hours was all I could take and now nap time came without a single peep! YEAH!

Better run!

Hey Girls

Post by sameera »

OMG I am so so sorry - I haven't been posting as much as I use to and the ONLY reason I haven't is cause my life is very hectic at the moment :(

How are you girls doing? Hope you girls had a great Christmas and New years!!

my life is on 3hour increments and it's very difficult to get all the stuff done. Trust me I miss reading all you guys posts etc.. and everyday I would think about logging in and posting but by the time I get to my laptop I'm so exhausted.

I do not have that much of help! I did had my MIL help me out couple nights but she is back to work and my dh has been back to work.. so I'm having to feed both the babies at the sametime or different times but it's difficult and overwhelming..

I only get few hours of sleep here and there.. between nursing and pumping I don't get any sleep! I am thinking about switching to formula exclusively but I dunno

so again girls I'm truly sorry about not being in touch with you guys and hope you guys had a great Christmas and New Years.

I have been really stressed out my MIL and FIL are going thru divorce..so we had a very stressful holidays.. and then my grand mother passed away 4 days ago and it's very sad/depressing to me..

it's just been overwhelming.. so I really hope you guys understand!

Hi again!
Sameera, I am so in the same boat, girl! I barely have time to read the posts but I feel like I learn so much from checking in!
I am so sorry about your grandma and the divorce. This is a challenging time without additional emotional stress.
I also struggle with the pumping. I have to supplement about half with formula anyway. Are you supplementing? Did anyone do about half and half? The NICU put my girls on Neosure for the high calorie content but I am thinking about switching to Eraths Best Organic...any thoughts ladies?
Scarletts up..more later!
XO Sara
Ps How can i upload pics on this site??

Sameera--good to hear from you! Your pics are GORGEOUS! Oh, I love babies with hair! I can't help it! :) so sorry to hear about the divorce....I hope everyone can get through it without too much drama. I am sorry you're having to do so much on your own, but I promise, it will get easier! Well, at least it did for me!

Sara--I did supplement. I'd never recommend it as a first choice, except the pedi was adamant. After 9 weeks, I just started doing bottles. I also went back to work around that time, too. And bottles just made life a LOT easier...lots more to clean, but it worked for us. Nursing, pumping, and supplementing was just too much for me! If I could do it over again, I would have tried to bf exclusively.....but, we were concerned about the babies gaining enough, and we didn't know how they'd do. All-in-all, it worked out fine, but it was hard at first!

Kholtan--are you going to find out the gender of your bambino? Or, are you going to be surprised!?

Sameera: Great to hear from you! I promise as well that it gets easier! Sorry to hear about the divorce, those are horrible to go through no matter what age! We are still on the every three hour schedule as well...not at night though. The sleep is not really there for me because by the time I fall asleep and am in a good sleep it is 3AM and the girls are ready to eat! lol. BEAUTIFUL pictures!!!

Sara: I could not BF cause my milk never came in. I did pump for awhile to try to get it to come in and was doing that every three hours which was a pain in the butt! I can not imagine pumping, feeding, etc. all the darn time. I wish I could have BF but could not thus was formula from the get go. Mine are still on the high calorie formula and can not come off it till 6 mo age I believe. I think that all depends on how tiny yours were when they were born and how preemie they were. I dunno about organic formula. I wish I could do organic all the way but it is too expensive and I can not imagine it for twins! We go through lots of formula and they are both only eating 5 oz (at the most) at each feeding. We go through a can every other day so I can not imagine it once they go to 6-8 oz and organic prices. I say if you want that though then go for it.

We are back from the holidays! I am so happy!!! DONE traveling for awhile! woohoo! It was nice that the grandmas got to see the little ones though. Now it is time to unpack and re-organize and put the Christmas tree up!

Brooke is pulling herself up when you hold her hands! She is so strong in her feet! She is still trying to talk but is so limited with it! She likes to look around. Is this bad? Does this mean she has autism? lol. She is just not a talker I suppose! She gets so distracted when she eats and just wants to look around...*sigh* She has also found her hands and likes her thumb. Today she tried to sit up on her own. I need to do more tummy time with them so they can work on rolling and crawling.

Mackenzie is my talker! She talks all the dang time. She does not eat because she wants to talk! I do not know what to do!!! I mean she is only eating like 3 oz at a feed and then stops and I can not make her eat more...she wants to play! What can I do!? Both of them went from 5 oz a feed back to 3! sheesh! She also tried to sit up on her own and tried to roll!!! It was cute!

They are both on oatmeal in their bottles now. The rice was making them too constipated and they hated they way Barley tasted. I suppose it is ok lol. Kenzie is much improved and is back to mushy poops hehe. Brooke is on her way as well.

Well this weekend I start South Beach diet. MIL took a pic of me and I did not even recognize myself!!! So that is it for me! I mean I know I had twins 5 months ago and the fertility treatment made me gain but it is time for it to go! I have never been this heavy! My husband even comments (jokingly but I know he kinda means it) about my stomach and such. Time for my "twin skin" to go away! Only 60 lbs to lose! lol.

Anywhoo, hope you all are doing well! Happy New Years!!!

Happy New Year, ladies...I just wanted to stop by and say hello...I am so apologetic that I can't post often...the babies have me HOPPING.

KHOLTAN..I am so so so excited for you...you must be exhausted...You are one fortunate woman!!! YIPPEE. You are so organized and wonderful that this baby is so lucky as well. Wow. Can't wait until the day!!! HOW DO YOU FEEL?

Buckeye...I was so impressed when you said you work PT, but that you work 5 days a week...which to me means 5 days of getting out of bed, showering, dressing...etc. Very admirable...I can barely find a piece of clothing without spit up on it...no matter HOW much I wash clothes...
that said, Until I lose the baby weight (ha ha), I found a pair of jeans called Not your daughter's jeans...kind of tuck you in...feel like an old lady but what the hell. At Nordstrom's...naturally!

The other ladies: I will try my best to read up...BUT congratulations!!!!

My girl and boy are 9 months old now...where did the time go?
Oh. Crawling. Pulling themselves up. I have my 'gated community' in our back study...4 sets of gates (around 8' by 6') containing them.
FOR NOW. Tons of toys. Everything has a sound...if I sit on a book, it beeps...if I touch a box, it sings...

oh...my son is so trying to crawl out of his crib...bummer...crib nets won't fit the odd sized crib...but I think if I get velcro I may be able to put something together with the tents that are made...oy.

BEST this year to everyone...so amazing how time passes, how the babiea grow ... I do have a blog, if anyone wants, PM me (I don't like posting personals on the Internet......)

Loads of love and good spirit and peace to you all

HELP! lol. Mackenzie is not eating. Not because she is sick or anything like that but is too busy! Too busy looking around, smiling and talking to me, listening to her sister in the background, being kicked by her sister at times (I boppy feed them and when Brooke is done I hold Kenzie to try to get her to eat and Brooke kicks her lol). She went from 5 oz a feed back to 3 oz! She is over 13 lbs so I know she can eat more and should eat more. What can I do? I mean there is no tv on, no radio, just a light. *sigh* then she is way hungry the next feed and is mad but when we go to feed her she will eat the 3 oz then want to play!!! UGH! This morning (after not eating since 2:30AM) she ate 1 1/2 oz! I mean I know she is hungry! Help!

Hey Ladies!

Suga~ Don't worry dear about Mackenzie quite yet. 13 lbs. is a great weight and if there are a few days when she is just too busy to dive into her meals I would personally just let it go and see what happens. Try keep the same exact schedule for a few days and see what she does. I wouldn't attempt to feed her more often or she will get use to eating less more often and then will most likely sleep less as well. She is probably busy learning and isn't in a growth spurt so she's simply got other things to do. If it goes on for over a few days just simply call your Ped. and ask their advice. My kids would nurse for different amounts of time at different times as well. I bet you'll see her eat a ton when she decides she is hungry!

Woodcliff~ HI!!!! Thanks for the well wishes. I actually feel 100% normal and am not showing or anything yet so it hardly seems real. I never had any symptoms with the twins either so it takes a while for me to feel pg. I think that's a good thing! I cannot believe your kids are already 9 months! Makes me want to cry! Seriously seems like time has no regard for our feeling what-so-ever! Funny you say all your toys make noise. We have so many that do that but my kids gravitate towards the old classics with no noise at all. Stacking cubes, puzzles, wooden cars and blocks, books, ect.... I have tried to explain this to people when they ask me what they should get the kids but I see it's hard to not get what looks fun to adults. My kids play with the noisey stuff for a day and it's over.
Good luck keeping your baby in the crib! Let us know how you handle that one! PM your blog please! I LOVE this form of communication! I have recently become a blogging addict!

Kim~ Am I going to find out the sex???? Are you kidding me? Do I look like the type of girl who could wait??? I have to know. The sooner the better for me. I hate to say it but my boy is so rough and tumble that I kind of hope Annelise can have a sister to help her in the combat! It really doesn't matter to me but I was one of 4 and I had 3 brothers so I would love to be a witness to sisters since I never had one. Either way it will be just perfect. Any guesses???

Sara~ I excusively breastfed mine but I was also very forceful with it in the NICU. I tried pumping so I could add the neosure but pumping never worked for me. I could hand express plenty but the pumps were a waist of time and so frustrating. Our lactation consultants were AMAZING here and free at my hospital so I used them vigourously. They really helped and my Ped. was very encouraging since my babies were steadily gaining weight. I believe you can up your milk amount as well if you want to exclusively bf. Breastfeeding was so much easier for me than trying to add the calories and the neosure added to the breastmilk constipated the babies as well.
As far as Organic goes. . .I am a FREAK about it here at our house. I have been for about 15 years and it's nice that it's so much more available now. We would rather cut out other items than scrape on the quality of food we eat. It's not for everyone and it is pricey but it's also a gift. I know that with VERY active babies and a social calendar that I would die for, my babies who were just weaned at Thanksgiving and have only had organic food have only had 2 runny noses ever. Clear runny nose once and a cough and runny nose the other time. Not even my Pediatrician can believe how healthy they are. I totally credit it to the foods we eat and the organic lifestyle. I only use vinegar to clean most everything as well. (Other than when I have to bleach the tub from someone pooping in it! ) My other big thing is I always strip them from the clothes they are wearing at play places or public places when we get home. I wash their coats and blankets often as well. As a baby if the blanket left the house it went straight to the wash when we got home. Good luck with the milk choice. I LOVE Earth's Best and my kids did too!

Sameera~ You sound busy dear! WOW! I am so sorry to hear about your family problems right now. Divorce and death are so hard especially when you are tired and exhausted already. Just keep your chin up and take care of yourself. Your babies are BEAUTIFUL!! Let us know if there is anything we can do to help at all. We are all thinking of you! HUGS!

I better run. The babies are napping and I think I'm preaching at this point! Sorry!!! I just get a little to smitten with the thought of adult conversation sometimes! :D

Have a great day everyone!
