Hi Everyone,

Glad to read everything is progressing well with you! Me too, nothing special happening here. Three more weeks to go! I am so ready for him to come out, but my ob encourage me to try VBAC this time, so I have to wait for natural constraction to start. Honestly speaking, I don't even know what contraction feels like even though this is my second pg...Last time, my water broke first and then I went to hospital without feeling too much of contractions. I was then induced to deliver which failed to progress and finally the baby was out by c-sec. Since they used epidural to kill the pain, I never really felt much of contractions...

ftg,

Did I miss the reasons that you need to schedule c-sec? I thought your pg is normally progressed and you don't have diabetics, why you need c-sec?

Dakota,

Hope you will be released from bed rest soon. Your pg journey is a bit bumpy but I am sure it's all worth of it in the end! Hang in there, few more weeks to go!

Rubylee,

I am having singleton and very uncomfortable already, cannot imagine how you manage. Glad to know that your twins are at similar sizes. Looking forward to your updates.

Everyone else here,

Good luck to you all!

children - yes, scheduled c-sect because of small pelvis size (nothing has moved the whole pg and I'm almost 35 wks) and I also had a rotated left pelvis that left me in unbelievable pain, a shorter left leg, and several visits to the chiropractor to fix; hence my staying as active as I can. I'm ok now, but still feel a "halo" of pain if that makes any sense. Its like if it had any pressure the wrong way, it would snap back into that position. When you've just given birth no matter how, it would be very difficult to get back to the chiro to get adjusted & fixed again especially when you have to be at the new babe's beck & call. My dr. was conservative and wanted to keep me from any emergency c-sects. Other that this you are correct my pregnancy has been progressing fine. Its just part of my frame that's getting in the way :)

I really have pregnancy brain these days...

Rubylee and Dakota - both of you hang in there. You are going into the homestretch in your own ways, but all of it will be worth it when you get to meet your babies!

Dakota: Sorry you are having a rough ride towards the end here. It will all be worth it. How is you're body handling staying on your left side? Just sleeping at night is an amazing chore on my left. My left butt charlie horses like crazy and my arms keep falling asleep. I have to get up walk around and try again. Can you be in more of a reclining position too?

ftg & children: Thanks for the well wishes. I need them. I know all of us have said this time and time again, it is so hard to complain after how much we wanted this. But wow, it gets pretty hairy at the end. I guess it is nature's way of making sure you are ready to be done with it all  .

Last few days have been a little nuts with the hormones all of a sudden. I really have been doing good but lately I have been having break downs. It is all about being terrified about being a mom, doing things right, being able to provide for them, giving both of them all they need. It just seemed to have hit me hard this week; I am a little freaked out! I am sure it is the anticipation as well. Anyway, hope you guys aren't dealing with too much of that. I know once we get our little chubs in our arms it all comes together.

Rubylee- I have totally had my hormones out of wack today. This is the first time I have broken down like I did. I cried hard twice because I am feeling bad that my dh is doing everything. He is more than willing to help and do whatever needs to be done but I am having a hard time watching him do it all. I hope I am done being so hormonal.

I went to the Dr. and today and I am swelling alot in my ankles and feet. My blood pressure is great but my dr. is concerned with how much I am swelling. She said she wouldn't let me go past 36 weeks and I am so ready. I just want the best for the babies.

rubylee- being on the couch on my left side is much easier than being in bed. i am miserable in bed because my hips and shoulders start to hurt real bad from taking the pressure all day. because i dont sleep longer than 1-2 hours at a time, while in bed i will let myself sleep on my right side then switch, also my dr showed mw how to lay on my back, but with pillows loaded on my right side to keep me tilted to the left. the is comfy, but little gracie does not like it, so i only do it if i am desperate. as of right now i am only allowed to lay down, no reclining. oh and i have a down pillow that i rest my belly on while in bed on left side so i will leave my arms stretched straight over the pillow, this helps circulation.

rubylee, croger & ftg- you guys dont have much longer to go b-4 your c-sections. how wonderfull!!

rubylee, crogers- i hear ya on the hormones, i cry at least 5 times a day. i think alot has to do with being isolated and feeling alone, then add the pregnancy hormones...geese!!

crogers - I hear you. The non-independence has been quite hard for me to grasp, however now that I'm much less mobile I learned to grin & bear it since I will be staying home alone with our son after DH's 6 wks of leave are up. I think this time they have doing everything with and for us will pass quickly enough :) I've had many tears over it too and I guess I accept it as part of the plan. My patience has quadrupled for me to get to this point! I put the pack 'n play together today by myself, so I actually got an accomplishment under my belt.

Ftg- that is great that you put your pack and play together all by yourself! I don't think I would have the energy or the air supply to do that. I am so out of breath it is crazy. We will forget most of the feelings we are feeling right now when we see our babies from what I have heard. I just can't wait!

Hi everyone,
sorry it's been a long time, I've been reading all your posts but haven't had the energy to write so much.
Glad to see that everyone had good holidays, and is progressing as they should be, some of you are getting very close now!
Dakota, keep your chin up, I hope you get released from bed rest very soon. Either way, you are doing the best for your baby girl and she will be here before you know it.
I am with you all on the hormones!! Lately I've been getting upset with DH actually for not pampering me....I think it's the media portrayal of a pregnant lady who doesn't do anything much and DH does it all - he's been working sooooo hard in the house to get things ready, and I sometimes feel like I am getting left out, then I feel selfish as I know he is sooo tired himself and yet keeps pushing to keep working. It's ended up being a major remodelling process, we are getting there but not yet.
We have a date for our baby shower now, on the 25th Jan, so I think it's really pushing us to keep going now though.
Other than that, I've been working long hours still and feel pretty good I have to say. My belly measurement went down at the last appt. to 35cm, so it must be the way they were laying last time. I certainly don't look any smaller though!! They keep sticking their heads and butts out of my stomach which makes for some interesting shapes!! My hips are getting sore still at night and sleeping is not getting any easier, but in the day I do okay.
My OB said he won't let it go past 38 weeks, so I guess my official due date moved up to the 4th of March.....I hope we reach it!!!

I wanted to ask you guys if you had any thoughts on pitocin? I've heard some bad stories about it, and was wondering what everyone thought? I am debating if I get to 38 weeks if I should be induced, or have a c-section to avoid pitocin....of course, that's if we make it to 38!!

take care all, and Croger, ftg, Rubylee and Children - wow, not long now at all, how exciting!!!

Hi all!! i had mt dr apt yesterday and still on bedrest. i go back on thursday next week and she said i will be able to start adding small things back in from 34.5w-36w, then at 36 w i am good to do what i want. we talked some about hiccups, lo gets themm all the time. anyone noticed their lo gets hiccups?

jude, i have heard that pitocin tends to cause stronger contractions because they are munipulated contractions and sometimes babies dont do well on it. but, some people do great. what was your dr's opinion on csec vs pitocin?

jude-I guess I've heard the same its just how you and your body reacts to pitocin. I haven't known a whole lot of gals who have had it, but for those who did they weren't progressing on their own, so opted for it to speed things up.

Dakota-sorry that you may be uncomfortable right now, but you're almost there. That's awesome things are working right though!

Late Tues afternoon, and overnight last Thurs/Fri I got bad braxton hicks (nothing followed, only contractions). I went to the grocery store thinking I felt fine, but got there and had to stop 4x in the aisles to wait for relief. Lasted about an hour because I was so slow moving through the store. Went home and realized I'm no longer driving/going anywhere by myself. DH is a lovely chauffeur on weekends, so it'll work ok from here on in. The Thurs/Fri overnight episode was horrible=woke up in major pain & crying. Got the heating pad, tried to relax, and after another hour it started to go away. That was pretty much it and just called to tell my dr. Friday. Had my normal dr. appt this morning, and nothing since then. Things are a movin' and a shakin', and it also helped me understand to PACK THE BAG because none of us really know what day they will prepare themselves to meet us :) My OB and nurse agreed and I now understand at almost 36 wks we're under their direction!

I have 2 more checkups in the next 2 wks, and thats it. Let's see if we make it!

Holy moly ftg!! I'm sorry you had some major pain with your bhicks - but glad it made you pack your bag!! At almost 36w you are really on the way. Glad you are no longer going by yourself places too, cos it is getting closer for sure. It's weird isn't it, knowing that it's going to happen, just not when. There's not much in life this big that we can't plan down to the last detail.

Dakota - almost off bed rest then. I'm so glad you are making it so far. Not long now! One of the bubs had hiccups the other night - after feeling it for a while I realised that's what it must be, as it was so rhythmic. Early on we saw one with hiccups on the ultrasound, which was amazing to see!

I am going to ask my doc about their opinion on the pitocin vs csection this thurs at my regular appt. I have one friend whose sister had pitocin and ended up with a problem cos the contractions were just too much and brought the baby out too quickly - but also tons of people who say they've had it and no problems. Hmmm.

Also - those of you with little boys coming. Are you going to have them circumcised?????

I got surprised at work today with a diaper party, which was so nice. We are now in stock for a few good months at least I'm sure!
They got me a cake which said 'Hello Mummy, Goodbye Tummy!'
Very cute.

take care all and grow babies grow!

Thanks Jude. All is well and now feel I am a bit more ready for his arrival.

On circumcision, its such a personal decision for each and every family my guess is folks are all different. Not being a male, I had to defer to my DH and some of my own beliefs. I've known plenty of parents where the father is not (UK/European born), but elect for their son to be. Why? I don't know. Personal preference is all over the board, and the Academy of Pediatrics also doesn't sway one way or the other at this time.

My boy had had hiccups several times per week since about 27 wks. I always wondered if it "bothered" them the way it does us. If his back is next to my belly, I put my hand over it and it feels like it could really hurt! I guess they are excercising their ability to breathe, and it may come from their normal intake of amnoitic fliud. I don't know much more about it, and my OB said its very common. I wonder if they'll continue when they arrive?

Hi Ladies,
I am on house arrest too and wish I was doing better with it. I managed to walk to the corner store and was exhausted by the whole thing. Not to mention the looks I got like, wow she's gonna pop right now! I need a wide load flag.

I was just reading about hiccups. I guess it is their diaphragms strengthening. Baby A gets them once a day. Very cute.

Can't wait to hear about all these babies coming in the next weeks! Hope you are all feeling ok. Not much has changed for me. I may actually make it to my c-sec next Thursday! We'll see.

Hey Ladies--

It good to hear that you are all doing so well! I am also doing great! Less than 6 weeks to go! I am starting to get tired at work, working 5 days a week is really taking it out of me! Plus I have terrible Carpal Tunnel and my right hand is basically numb all the time. But other than that I am doing well. Dh said that my feet looked a little swollen last night, I was hoping to avoid swelling since it is winter, but I guess not.
As far as circumcision, we are going to have one for our son. I have tried to think of what he would want as a teenager and adult and not the pain of my baby boy that day. DH did not even think twice about it. But I know a couple people with sons that are not and they have had no problems so far.
Well I am going to buy the last couple things I need this weekend (nursing bras, dreft, and nursing pads) and DH and I are going out on a nice date to celebrate the last time of just being us.
