Hey Wishfull!!!

I am glad you like my posts about my furbabies!!! I tell ya, Mollie keeps me on my toes!!! And my DH!! She is something else! You wouldnt believe the things she thinks of and does. She really is my little beast. I call her that all the time!!!

Oh, I thought I told you guys what we are doing...SO SORRY
We have decided to do IUI with DS. We just cannot afford $13,500 for IVF and then another $5000 for DH surgery. We had three choices:

1. Decide to live childless (which we arent ready to accept yet)
2. Keep saving and hopefully we will get the money sooner then later because my eggs arent the best either. Then hope that our one and only try takes.
3. Go back to what we orginally planned on doing...IUI with DS.

So number 3 it is... :D I worry though. My DH says he is ok with it but I still worry. But then I think if the shoe was on the other foot (if I had to use donor eggs), I really dont think I would think twice about it, I think I would be totally fine with it. I seriously dont think I would have a problem using DE. I think if we are lucky to get PG and we go to the doctors and have our U/S I think the worries will go out the door!!!

Miracle, Woooo..hoooooo girl, you have a plan. Doesn't it just feel great???

The donor thing is funny. When you are at that stage when you take it for granted that you will be parents, thats something you would never consider. But after having gone through the heartache of IF and not having a baby to hold, its amazing how we want to do anything to bring up a child that we want to give so much love to and bring up. Somehow genetics becomes less important.

When we started tmt, I could not understand the concept of getting donor eggs. But after my failed cycles, I am just waiting for my RE to suggest using donors. He hasn't done so yet, but you know what, if he did, I would not hesitate. I am at that stage where I feel that I want a baby.

Having said that, it can't have been an easy thing for your DH to agree to that. But you are 100% right, when you see the heartbeat on the ultrasound, it won't matter anymore. That child will be yours and DHs.

Any ideas as to when you'll do your first round of IUI? Becky mentioned that her friend was successful on the first go. Hold on to those kind of success stories.

Angie,

Wish your DH a very Happy Birthday from all your grounded and sane friends (unlike youuuuuu  ).

Oh, I didn't mean to ask you what "gift" you are buying him, only what treat you had in store for him. Like jumping out of a huge box with a bow around yourself.....................or like the trenchcoat story................
You should have placed an order with Sophie for a gorgeous birthday cake.

We are going to be waiting to hear about your exploits tomorrow.

Carolyn, when are you off to Champneys? It sounds heavenly, just what I want. Does that price include an overnight stay? And what about any treatments? Could really do with a nice massage.

Hope work isn't keeping you too busy.

So will you be staying with your friends in Prague? Has he been really helpful since your holiday?

 Have any of your workmates told you that you look radiant today??

My previous team used to have these 2 guys who were quite brash and came out with some  things on occassions. Once one of the girls who sits next to me came in a bit late. These two guys started hassling her about that (when they are not even her boss). She got cross at them and turned around and said that she'd just had some early morning BCABB action courtesy of her bf and thats why she was a bit late, and had the added benefit of glowing skin and a spring in her step. Then she added, "not that you two would know anything about morning bm"!!!    Everyone just froze and then some of us girls were giggling, but the two guys went red in the face.

Hi ladies!!!!

BECKY!!!!!!!!!!! So good to hear from you!!! I am glad to know that even if you arent posting, I know you are reading. We are so always thinking of you and Brian girly!! Angel is right, you are a very strong women and Brian...well what can I say??? He sounds like he is THE BEST!!! One day at a time Becky.... :)

Angel darling!!! hi there! I love how you post individual posts for everyone!!!! Yep! We have a plan...I just hope nothing gets in the way this time. I know...I know that is so negative. When we were first told no sperm was in his "stuff" we were told that our only option was DS. But then we went to another DR and they told us about doing ICSI/IVF and they would have to go in to the testicle to get the sperm, if there is any. So that was a big "if" too!!! So we have had a couple of years to talk about using DS...at first he was like NO WAY, of course. I never brought it up again. And then on day out of the blue, he came to me and said he wanted us to have a baby and it didnt matter about the genetics. I know it still bothers him to an extent. I try to talk about it a lot just to make sure he is really ok with it. I bought the book Helping the stork and Building a Family with DS. So him and I have been reading those too. I think you are right though. I think once he hears that heartbeat or sees the "glob" he will fall in love!! Yeah, I would not hesitate to use DE either. I just dont feel genetics is important. I think if you can have a baby with your eggs and his sperm...it is just a bonus!

Hey Wishfull...Sophie...Lee...

I will be back later!!!

Arrrrrghhhh I have just spent 2 hours completing my post due to a few unfortunate incidents here this morning like my boiler leaking water all over the kitchen floor I guess it needed a wash, and picking up our 15yr old foster child from school where she is currently excluded! Guess I have something to keep me on my toes now was thinking the house was far too quiet which gives me too much time to think about the last few weeks. and when I submitted it I had to sign in again and now its lost!!!!!

So will have to start again,

Miracle I agree, I had to use donor eggs in the end, I am lucky as I have the next best thing which are my sisters eggs, I did struggle to begin with, about the genetic thing it won't be mine and so on, but with the help of copious amounts of valium :? and a fantastic GP who spent hours with me over several weeks whilst his other patients sat probably not so patiently in the waiting room  I decided to go ahead with it. Once I had made the decision the valium went back in the drawer and I realised a baby is what was important not whose genetics made him or her.

So Angie are you going to fill me in on the trench coat story don't want to feel left out you know?!? Hope your days gets better and better!!

Angel we are from Wiltshire so using Bath Fertility centre for our tmt. Yeeessssssss it is Freeeeeezing her too, we have had snow for the last few days as well as the black ice. We have had a miracle in our garden tho, I bought a rose bush in the summer called rememberance for the babies I have lost (2 previous babies not on my signature) and the babies I thought I would never have as they then told me there was no way of concieving with my own eggs. A few days ago a tiny single red rose bloomed in our garden, well not fully bloomed but my babies wern't fully bloomed either, and today I have found another one on another bush which is much bigger and a beautiful pink colour, I think its a message from my babies saying hello. :) How can roses bloom in this freezing weather? I have cut them and have brought them in to keep. It has put a smile on my face.
As for DH he probably bought a toy car he has a garage full!! Would love to have been a fly on the wall when your workmate emabarressed them for a change!!

Becky, thinking about you, have had to face up to people a bit this week so its felt more difficult this week as I hid away a bit over xmas with everyone being busy also we had a houseful so was busy all the time. So how has the hair turned out? Are you looking beautiful?

I know you guys have probably done all this but what do you all do?

Sophie have visited Canada my uncle and aunt live in alberta and we went to Vancouver in the summer and up to alaska, alaska was amazing! I know its america but close!

Anyway will go now and finally do some work today lets hope this one posts ok, are my posts long enough to join your gang!!

See ya later

Lee xx
