Hey everyone!

Tina- So good to hear from you! I am so glad one of my posts was helpful to someone. I don;t even remember where i talked about the monitor, but I love it too. There are a bunch of different ones out there, which one did you get? Ella is now a pro at flipping from her back to front, but still does not flip from tummy to back. She likes to go to sleep on her side and always ends up on her tummy. I have to shut her door b/c of my cats, so that monitor is my life saver. I would go crazy if I could not see that pendulum swinging so i know she is breathing. i know her risk of sids is down now, but i still feel better knowing. Even though it has false alarmed a couple of times, I still love it. We put the sensitivity way up so it would detect her even when she moves out of the center of the crib. Glad to hear noah is doing so well.

Suga- they will get there soon. how long do they sleep for at night? They probably just need to get their tummy's settled and it sounds like you are doing the right thing by being a bit more aggressive with the dr's office. You should definitly switch to a new dr if you don;t really have faith in the current one.

Not much new over here, ella is doing great. Still a bit constipated, but I started feeding her prunes and i hope that works. We are gearing up for our next ivf cycle trying to bring ella a little sibling to play with, I will keep you all updated on that. I hope everyone is having a good week, and look forward to hearing from you all.

One more thing- Someone somewhere on these boards told me that prunes were a magical fruit and worked for their babies and i can't remember who. Well, I tried and so far so good, we will see again with todays poo. I am just curious, if this is the trick, how often do you feed them prunes to keep them regular? Do they have to eat them everyday, or every other day? I don;t want to bore her with just prunes because she is constipated, but I want her to have enough to stay regular. thanks guys.

I talked about the prunes on the constipation board...dunno if you are talking about me though lol. I am not too sure on how often. I would say once a day should do it depending on how much she eats.

At night they will eat at 7PM 10PM and 3AM then 7AM so like 5 hour stretch? I think like once or twice they went to 4AM but they were really tired!

Well Kenzie either scratched her eye or something irritated it (like I thought!) so no pink eye. I would have been very interested in how she got that anyways!

I am a little irritated! The doc does not think it is the formula causing Brooke's constipation. He does not want to switch to the Nutramigen because then we would have to transition back to milk at one anyways....ugh! He said start her on prunes. I am not even feeding them rice or oatmeal from a spoon yet! He said start her on prunes, or pears, or such. WHAT? I mean I am not supposed to start solids till Feb because their adjusted age will be 4 months then. Is this ok? The nurse that gives them their RSV shot said Gripe juice for colic (sold in specialty stores) worked for her little one. I may try that before solids I dunno. Any ideas on whether or not it is ok for solids since they were preemies? I mean I feel like doctors do not listen to you. He said if it is an allergy they have diarrhea. *sigh* I just do not know.

Brooke is 14 lbs and Kenzie is 13 lbs 4 oz!!! Kenzie needs to stop playing and start eating again lol. Brooke is now finishing 5 oz each time so I am going to move her up to 6!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! I wish you mommies all the best for 2009 with our little miracles!

Sorry I have been MIA but with Xmas and relatives coming it was quite the ride! Bean is doing great, he is growing like a weed and at 3 mos weighs about 14.5 lbs and is quite tall. He is just developing so quickly! He ooohs and ahhhs and gives me those gum smiles that melt my heart! I came back to work part time and it is killing me to be away from him for 4 hours each day. I am supposed to go to 6 hours but I don't even know how I am going to do this. He is still strickly being breastfed, I can't believe how much it had to hurt at first, but now it feels fine. He eats at 7 am, 11 am, 2 pm, 5 pm, 8 pm, 11 pm and then I wake him up at 3 am. He sleeps from 11 to 3, eats and goes right back to sleep until 7. He has gotten really clingy and wants to nurse more and more often since I have started leaving him at grandma's in the am.

I promise to keep up with everyone from now on!

Mellie/Gecko - have you decided when to go for it again?
I was just reading the post on people who got preggers naturally after IVF, wouldn't that be nice?

I am loving being a mommy and just can't stop gushing over him. WOW! I am so glad I had all you girls to lean on this past year!

Aw Rio, those gum smiles are the best! I love em too. Makes my heart melt. Brooke just started talking so it is nice to have them both talking now. I cried the other day just holding them because I just can not imagine my life without them now. And yes, I miss them being smaller! I mean I know they are small but the infant stage. I thought I would never say that! We are going to put our other eggs in next year, end of the year. 2 more to come I am sure! haha...hopefully just one.

CT_Michele: I voted for her! Hope she wins!

Rio: Welcome back! We've missed you. I've already had my consult w/my RE and we are hoping to do retrieval in April or May. I pumped for the last time on Dec 26th : ( Evie is still getting about 10 ounces a day of breastmilk that I froze for her but I think we will run out in about a week. I'm excited to try again but a little afraid that I may be disappointed. The diagnostic tests will probably be in March and those have not always gone well for me. Still no cycle yet, though, so we'll see.

I'm loving my little one so much! I can't believe how amazing she is. Today is my first full 8 hour day of work. I left her w/Daddy today and he said that it "would be like the Lord of the Flies" when I left this morning. I just called to see how she's been and he said "she ate, she farted, she farted while she ate, now she's asleep". He said he's been reading for class and reading tax code to her. Oh boy. No wonder she fell asleep![/b]

Rio- welcome back! No need to apologize for being MIA, we all understand...just good to see you around again. I saw you were creeping around the "going for baby #2 thread." I am planning on going for #2 next month, have an appt in less than 2 weeks with RE to make it official. Let me know if you go soon, I am also posting on the ivf boards under jan/feb/march cycle buddies, so if you go before march, come and join!

Mellie- and everyone else, thanks for voting for Ella. She was a runner up for round one and will be in the final round starting the 22nd. I will post for votes again when the final round begins.

Suga- how are solids going? any progress yet? Ella seems to be getting enough prunes from when I mix it with the cereal and her poos are getting better, much less constipated.

Ella is still doing well. I put her in the baby einstein bouncer again today and she still leans to one side b/c she is small. but i deceided to let her be and see what happened. It was awesome, she soon realized that if she moved her feet that the thing would move and bounce. She had a great time, stayed in it for like 20 minutes while i tidied the house a bit. I can';t believe it is new things everyday!

A couple people recently have commented on how wonderful their babies are and I just want to agree! I can't believe how much I am loving staying home since I have always been a working girl. At the end of the day, sometimes I am relieved it is bedtime, but then an hour after she goes to sleep, I miss her already...it's crazy. We are all so lucky. I read so many sad posts and feel so bad for other women on these threads and wish I could help them to feel the joy I finally have.

Hi Everyone,

We are doing well. I went back to work this week - full time - and in a way it was really liberating. Even though I teach all day long, it is much easier than being a stay at home mom!!! DH is staying home this month and then we start with daycare in February. I do miss seeing my baby all day, and can't wait to get home to him. Last night I even got my first giggle out of him. It was very cool!

Is anyone having any luck with getting them to sleep through the night? Declan actually did two nights in a row several weeks ago and then went back to one (or two) feedings a night. He is up to 5 or 6 oz a feeding and I can't believe how hungry he is when he wakes at night. Now that I am back to work, the sleep deprivation is really getting to me.

CT Michelle, Rio, Mellie - Good luck on your upcoming cycles! We are planning a FET sometime next fall. I guess I will call the RE this summer to see if I need any preliminary testing prior to cycling and then we will go from there. I would LOVE to wait a little longer, but can't at my age. In the meantime I am just enjoying this time with my baby.

Rio - Awesome job on still breastfeeding!!!! I gave up almost a month ago when it took me two days of pumping just to get a 5 oz serving.

sugabeanzs - Declan only poops every other or every third day and it really makes him uncomfortable. We called the advice nurse when he hadn't pooped in three days and she said that he can go a lot longer without it being a medical emergency! She said if we wanted to help him out to give him one tablespoon of dark caro syrup in his bottle or and ounce of prune juice diluted with one ounce of water. As it turns out he did poop right after we called so we didn't need to give it to him. Let us know how it goes with Brooke.

Well, the poops are still as hard as rocks around here! I am getting tired of the RE not listening so maybe next time I will bring in a sample for them lol.

Poor Kenzie is having the bad reflux now. They switched on me! She can not go more than 4 oz at a time because it all just comes back up. Poor babe. Gecko looks like you and I will be doing FET around the same time! That will be fun to have a buddy.

Anywhoo, nap time for babes

Oh my goodness- Ella just slept until 11 am! Wow, she went to bed at 9:30 last night, I woke up as normal to feed her at 6 when she cried and then she normally goes back to sleep for a couple of hours. Well, I went back to sleep too, and I guess dh heard her around 9, gave her a bottle and she went back to sleep again. She must be going through a growth spurt! This is good though b/c my brother is in from upstate ny and will see her tonight. I want her to be able to stay up a little later tonight so he can spend as much time as possible with her.

Gecko- I definitely envy you going back to teaching. I knew I wanted to be a teacer when I was five and worked so hard to get that degree. And I miss being in the school all day, but I couldn;t bear to be away. That is why I am going for number 2 now, so I can be home with both babies before trying to go back to teaching for the 2010 school year. I am afraid that if I go back now, I will not want to stop to have another baby was I am back in career mode, so let me get baby mode over with now. And for now, I am tutoring at my school from last year, and it is awesome pay. $45/hr, no lesson plans, no responsibility, just a couple hrs a day a few times a week...easy as pie!

Oh declans first giggle! I almost cried when ella did that, it was so awesome! I don;t know what to suggest about sleeping. I guess I was just lucky with ella, I didn;t do anything special, at some point she just slept longer. I hope declan starts soon for you.

Suga- I am so sorry to hear about all the reflux/constipation problems. Ellas constipation is definitely getting better since I started mixing baby food prunes with her oatmeal cereal. I switch back and forth from mixing in prunes and pears. It seems to be working and I think it makes her like the cereal a bit more. Dr also told me if that doesn;t work, add 1 teaspoon/tablespoon dark caro syrup to bottle. He said if that still doesn't work, they can put the baby on miralax I think it was? Fortunately, we have not had to go past prunes.

Ok, I gotta go shower and start doing stuff! Talk to you all later!

Well they are eating cereal with prunes in it! Chewing and swallowing. Kenzie will eat more than Brooke though. Last night I made Kenzie eat her bottle of meds first then gave her cereal. Tonight I did cereal first...bad idea. She did not want any milk afterward! She just wanted all cereal. I mean she ate the whole darn bowl! Of course they will get a bottle at 10 to help them get to 3AM. Hopefully now that they are eating solids at dinner they will go longer...*prays*

I sprained my wrist...it is hard to do things with a bumb wrist might I add. I did it opening the door to our Jeep...the trunk. Do not ask lol, I do not even really know! haha.

Anywhoo, crying babes not wanting to sleep (over tired) got to go take care of it.

Hello all! Just a thought about the sleeping through the night thing....I know Noah is very different than most and a little older than some of yours, but have you tried the routine the Baby Whisperer recommends? We really focused on that for the first 4 mos and it seemed to work really well. Now, we just follow a very set routine at night. Bottle, bath, book....bed. Noah just knows when it is time to go to bed. Last night he slept from 9:15 p.m. until 8:30 a.m!!! My husband and I were up at 7 a.m. thinking he was going to get up any minute! Silly! Anyway, every baby is so different and I know we just lucked out with Noah's sleeping...but just thought I would mention the Baby Whisperer. I probably already did, but....also don't forget that ALL babies eventually sleep through the night, so hang in there! You all sound like great moms!!

Noah has not been sick yet, but is coughing and sneezing a lot today....uggghhh!!! I hate the thought of him being sick!!
