Tina, we do BabyWise (or our own version since they can not nap well with reflux) and we do the same routine every night as well. They go right to sleep usually or cry for like 2 minutes. So that is set in stone. Just they wake up hungry! Kenzie is getting close for sure! They slept till almost 4AM today and I had to wake up Kenzie and she ate 4 oz. I think her eating a lot of solids has helped a ton! We shall see!!!

We've been pretty lucky and blessed. Zach has been sleeping from 9/9:30pm till 7/8am every night for the last 4 weeks now. He rolled over from his tummy to his back the other day and is playing with his toys now. I am soooo excited that he seems to be right on track for being a preemie. He is still a little bit small....and am guessing him to be close to 13 lbs now. His 4 month appt is this coming Friday.

I didnt do anything out of the ordinary. I just feed him, read him a book, sing a song, and put him to bed. Most of the time he is still awake and conks right out without fussing. Like I said, we are lucky.

He doesnt sleep much during the day though. Then sometimes gets fussy by 5 pm because he is over tired.

I hope all your little ones start sleeping through the night for you. I think I would be going nuts right about now. I give you all kudos.

Hi guys
Finally we may have Katie and her painful feedings sorted out we need to confirm with a pediatrician but the doctor seems to think she's lactose intolerant and the milk has been causing her pain when and after she drinks. I've changed her to a lactose free formula until the pediatrician appointment comes up and already i've seen a great improvement she still cramps a little when feeding but her mls are almost doubled shes not bloated and full of wind and no longer has the runny poop and she slept through to 5 am so she's definately better the doctor thinks it will take her about a week to be 100% i sure hope so i'm just glad to have found a doctor who could help.

sounds like little ones are beginning to sleep through i know the first time Katie slept through to four thirty in the morning i woke with a fright and had to check to see what was wrong with her as to why she didn't wake it gave me such a fright until i realized she was ok and just starting to sleep through i guess it all happens in there own time

tammy sounds like Zach is the perfect little man you must feel very lucky

Jomae, he does have Acid Reflux really really bad. We had an Upper GI study done. We switched him to Enfamil AR and he spits up on a constant non-stop basis. He is also on Mylanta every feeding and Zantac at the highest dose....2 times a day. The docs want to send him to a specialist now. We will be discussing it at Fridays appt. I dont want him to have to have surgery. I will completely avoid it and already told his doc that. He should outgrow it and it should get better once we start food. I didnt want to start food till 6 months ...but we may start cereal this coming weekend when he turns 4 months ....because the weight of the cereal ...may help him to keep it down. The docs and I will decide Friday. He is gaining great because he eats alot. He is at least out of pain now...he used to be very gassy and fussy. Now he is just a happy spitter. So yeah, not quite perfect...but almost.

We switched Declan to the Enfamil AR because he was so obviously in pain with gas and it has helped a lot. He does still spit up though, but not nearly as much as he use to. The stuff is magic! I did notice, though, that he seems to be gaining weight more now that he is eating it. Have you experienced the same? He doesn't see his pedi until the first week in February so I won't know exactly how much he weighs until then. I hope your little one is ok and that not interventions are needed. Poor little guy....

Tammy: I can tell you solids do not fix it lol. They still spit it up it is just slower coming back up. I hear preemies outgrow it around 1 year...I am in count down mode to that! Let me tell you! I hate seeing them in pain and not wanting to eat.

K so I am exhausted because Brooke woke up at 1AM in pain from gas and then again at 5AM she wanted to play...who knows what was in her little self last night! When dad gets home from school I am passing out!

Maybe we should change this thread to "The Spit Up Group"....Noah is a spitter upper as well! Thankfully, he is a happy spit up baby and is not in pain from it, but geez - it is so messy. I also feel sorry for him because he just seems to always have it all over him. We also switched last month to Enfamil AR. Seems to help, but still a lot of spit up.

Have any of your babies had a cold? Any magic tricks to help them? Noah is coughing, sneezing, and has a runny nose. Poor guy. It was soooo sad listening to him coughing last night. I feel so sorry for him. Just thought I would see what you all knew. I feel terrible for him. He has not been sick yet, so this is our first time dealing with this. I swear I am going to stop everyone from touching him until cold and flu seaon is over!!

Tina: When our girls had a cold we bulb syringed a TON! We put nasal drops (saline) up there then got all the gunk out. Also, if you can prop him up a bit at night when he sleeps that helps the drainage. Really, drain the nose as much as you can. It will pass!

Tina I think our babies are all just following there mums footsteps i don't think one of us on this thread has had a problem free pregnancy or birth so yes we seem to be the perfect group which is good really no matter what the problem some always no something about it. As for the cold info i had a snot sucker for katie which i found to be useless i found a cotton tip wet with warm salty water got the mucus out better you can also buy a baby vicks to help keep him clear don't use the adult vicks on noah it's not good for them.

I tryed ringing the pediatrician to make an appointment for her lactose intolerance and the doctor doesn't come back from hloidays for at least another week so we've got more waiting atleast shes doing better on the new formula.

We also have a decision to make we have to pay for our sperm storage so we have to decide whether we are trying for another child or letting them throw it out what to do what to do.

I hear ya on the storage. Except, mine are 3 embryos. I am not sure what to do. I am paying for storage this year and next year...but I get sick to my stomach with the thought of my children sitting there "waiting". It is literally driving me crazy. I have tried to not think about it ...but I cant help it. I see them as Zach's siblings. After next year, I will have to make some big decisions and I am not looking forward to it. If I want to be a SAHM with Zach then we shouldnt try to afford more children. If we do go for another one...it wouldnt make sence to work to pay daycare. Catch 22...we cant really afford more children in this economy. I have thought about donating them....but dont want to be "looking" at every kid in North East Ohio to see if they're our children or if they look like Zach. Besides, that to me is much like giving your children up for adoption, because I couldnt afford them. It makes me sick to think about. I am 40 now, if we do try for 1 more it wont be till next year around March '10 (almost 42 yrs old) because I am having gastric bypass this year in March. I am getting a surgery date this week. I am sooo excited, but so scared too. Anyhow, anyone else in the same boat...and having issues with this?

Hi Ladies-

It was actually our frozen sperm bill that lead us to be on the brink of our next cycle. We got the bill in the mail in november and we really needed to discuss our plan then. We decided it was smart to pay for the storage for the year since male factor was our issue and even though dh was willing to go through sperm extraction/tese again, there might not be anything there this time. So we weren't willing to risk that and dh was happy not to go through the surgery again.

So we decided we would definitely try again within a year, we were looking at sept/oct so I could plan it around the school year and get a job for next year. Then I decided that I just don't think I will be ready to go back to work for next school year, or I can easily keep tutoring for extra cash, so in that case, there is no reason to wait to try. If I am planning on going back for the 2010 school year, then the sooner the better so I have more time at home with both. I also want them to be close in age, and we are in baby mode right now, have all the stuff, so it just made sense for us.

Its crazy what getting a bill in the mail started. Good luck with all of these hard decisions. I am actually on my way to my first RE visit since having Ella. It is for initial scan/bw. We will have a consult with dr in about a week.

Well we have 2 eggs that are waiting for us. We are def. paying for storage and we will put them in the end of next year. I do not know when we get our first bill. What are you all having to pay? So hopefully only one takes!! I dunno if I could handle twins again...but I will take them if I get them!

I hear all you guys on the storage thing. I got 6 months free with my cycle and then had to renew it for a year ($1000) and it will be up in July. I plan to renew it again since we don't plan to do another cycle until the fall. I have four 6 day blasts so the odds are good of achieving a pregnancy again as long as they survive the thaw. My doctors advised me to wait at least 6 month but said a year is better before becoming pregnant again.

Tammy - I know just how you feel! Right now we can afford to have Declan in daycare and both of us working full time. I have been teaching for 20 years so my salary is good. It doesn't make sence to stop working now. But, if we have another one the daycare would be HUGE! I am not sure how we will handle it. However, we really want another one. I think siblings are good to have and since we are an older couple and our families are even older, I don't want Declan to be left alone with nobody. He has no cousins and is the only grandchild. So.... we are going to go ahead with it and make it work somehow. I wouldn't worry about your age. I just turned 45 in December and will be 46 when #2 is born. My mom was 41 when she had me and is still living. I am in good health and plan to be around for a LONG time yet. I think with all the fertility treatments available now a days, the 40's mama will become quite normal and accepted. The problem I have is what to do with the rest of my blasts. We only want one more child. If all the blasts are good then we have to do something with them. I am leaning towards letting them be used for research rather than thrown away. I signed a clause that they not be use for another couple so if we don't use them we have to give them to research or destroy them. What are the rest of you doing?

HI girls
Spit group sounds good! Bean spits up quite a bit, doesn't bother him at all but it does make a mess! He is still on bmilk so he can't go all night without eating or he wakes up starving and crabby so if I feed him at 11 pm he goes to sleep and then I wake him up at 3 am and 7 am and he goes right back to sleep. My boobs hurt when it is feeding time and I can set a clock by them!

so his tummy is on the same clock so I am not going to mess with adjusting his times right now. I cannot imagine being at work full time right now! I hear what you mean about a little break, the break is nice but I miss him!
Mellie/CT - wow you are all in gear for #2! I am excited for you and will follow you on the other board! I will bfeed until he is 8 mos than go again. That will be in 5 mos or so. I am so nervous about the whole thing. I implanted 4 embies and got one, I get nervous about the amount of eggs and everything all over. I would love to have another singleton!
Gecko- you are lucky you have embies frozen!!! I hear you on daycare

but I make more than daycare for 2 so Ihave to keep working!
Jomae - sorry about Katie hurting after feeding
twinmommy/suga- ouch poor babies with hard poopies, my bean has soft poopies but he cries a bunch when pooping, breaks my heart! hope your wrist is better.
I am at work and my MIL is late bringing bean to feed, I am leaking everywhere, so embarrassing!!!!!!!!

Sounds like everyone is dealing with the storage issue. I don't know if I feel lucky or not that we only have one frozen one left. We put 2 in on our first try and got Noah, so in a way I am kind of thankful there is only one left. I think twins are amazing, but I think one perfect sibling for Noah would be ideal. But then it scares me to only have the one embryo. What if it doesn't work? But then again...I was so scared of being left with a bunch of embryos and what to do with them. Such tough decisions for all of us!!! I am not ready to try again yet. I want to get the rest of this weight off first. I also know we lucked out with Noah and will probably not get another baby like this one. He is just very easy. Thankfully he is now going to sleep by 9 p.m. and sleeping until 8 a.m. Is there any chance we could have another one do that? I am sure there is NOT! We just lucked out with Noah. He is very laid back and rarely fusses. He has us spoiled. I know there is probably no chance of getting that again.

Oh ladies....I just don't know. My husband will be 40 next month and I just turned 38, so we need to make some decisions.
