Taking it easy

Post by stefanie »

Hi all - Is anyone else feeling fatigue? I still need a nap almost every day. I'm 24 + weeks and just wiped a lot. I'm taking extra care w/ my diet, trying not to get TOO big, but I seem to just grow and grow.My goodness, I'm outgrowing my current maternity clothes!

Also wondering if people might ring in about when they felt real kicks and if so how often. was it just 3-7 times and then go away or did it continue!

Babyloves - I appreciate all you are doing, but my OB has restricted my exercise. I live in NYC, so of course I walk places, but I am also 40 years old and after trying so hard to get pregnant, I am listening to her about what to do and not to do.

My boys seem to kick me all the time time now. There was a point when I would feel my Santino (Baby B) kick and kick and kick, then I wouldn't feel him at all for 2 days then he'd start up again. Now it's all the time and I couldn't be happier.
I too feel like I'm out growing my maternity clothes and I'm just mortified by it. But I keep reminding my self that it'll all be over soon and I'll be back to just me again. Which is a scary thought.
I kind of feel the fatigue creeping back in a little and nap when I can. It;s the heartburn that's maiing me insane though.
Any one else have that problem from the beinging like me?

Thanks for letting me know... do you know when you went from sporadic kicks and feelings to all the time? It makes me so nervous, you know?

Yes, heartburn. I keep tums by the bed and try not to lie down too soon after eating. Also, I am so big (and stomach getting smaller) that I can't eat so much anymore in one sitting. when i do have a full dinner (like last night) I'm just in terrible gastric distress, you know?

Thank you for chiming in. I've been feeling so freakish lately. I mean I knew I would get big (physicially) but I didn't really anticipate the effects it would have. Does that make sense? Like knowing I would look big, but not knowing how hard it would be to breathe, bend, put on shoes, stay awake etc. That my feet would hurt when I went out walking. I guess I also didn't know it would be so early.

DOn't get me wrong, I'm grateful. I really am. I hate the chins, but I love the belly and what's growing inside!

Good Morning Ladies:

Well I am right there withyou ladies, the heartburn is so bad that tum do nothing, my Peri said I can take Mylanta, can you say GROSS!!! Also I guess since I am carrying 3 my belly is so oushed up and small that when I eat I cannot drink and when I drink I cannot eat, there is just not enough room for both.. Napping, OMG. I think I am the queen of the Naps. My friends call me and the first thing they say is did I wake you.lol

So I guess all we are going through is nornal with multiple babies.

I went for my Nucal scan on Monday, all 3 girls are measuring perfect with perfect heartrates and the tech said their neck measurements look good. I am not really worried about the Downs since we had PGD done on the embryos, but this test is not evasive so I dont mind...

Have a wonderful Day ladies and I hope you all feel good, or as good as we can feel...:)

Hey ladies! I am with you in the heartburn department. It is brutal! I am my biggest problem though! If I follow my cravings, I end up in a heap on the couch begging for relief. Yesterday, I had a burger for lunch because I was going to HURT SOMEONE if I didn't get one. bad move. I paid for it all afternoon and evening.

Today, I feel really good actually. Makes me nervous when I am not nauseous and hurting, but I've read from others here that it ebbs and flows so I am trying to enjoy it!

My second u/s is Friday. I am praying hard that all is well and the babies are growing perfectly.

Anyone have a cup or so of decaf coffee every once in a while? I get a craving for it from time to time. I stopped drinking coffee all together 8 months ago, but last week and this week I've had small cups of decaf.

Have a great day!

Stefani: I can't really pinpoint the exact time that it went from sparadic to constant because there are still times that it's sparadic.

Like just yesterday, I was thinking my Santino (Baby B) was a sleepy bum all day because all I felt where tiny little rolls here and there, but then when I settled down to watch American Idol he and I played "Kick Mommy's Hand" for like 20 minutes.

I remember being worried too though and the advice I can give is this: It's just another stage. We all went through phases where we'd freak out about one thing or another because it was new and didn't know if it was "normal" but then settled down because it became routine or it worked itself out.
You'll feel your babies the way you want to very soon.

And I can totally relate to all you ladies in one way or another. The tums stopped working for me a month ago and I've since switched to Mylanta. I kind of like the taste though...lol.

Bending over to tie my shoes, pick something up off the floor and even walking are almost impossible. I never thought it would be like this. Rolling over in bed is the worst though.

I'm so lucky I have such a wonderful husband and daughter that tie my shoes for my, reach for things and make life a little easier for me.

Cocosmomma: I have a cup of decaf when I can. I'm not a big coffee drinker but i do like it on occasion. I know that if it where summertime I'd have an iced decaf from Dunkin' Donuts almost every day though. I LOVE that stuff. treat your self when you can. It'll be fine.

Jenniferdp: I get so excited when I see your posts. You in such great spirits and to see you giving advice to other ladies with such a great attitude is just amazing. You've given me hope that if it happens to me, I might be able to deal.

I'm so glad the babies are doing great and I hope that things continue to go so well in such a scary situation.

Hello ladies, I had another ultrasound today, I called with fear of leaking fluids down there and spotting still (since Sat) anyway, they checked and still saw two heartbeats so I was relieved, then they saw a third baby. Yes, triplets. I am scared. Even with IVF we debated and put back two embies, that failed then we did IUI to have triplets. YIIKES. I am not sure if we are loosing the third one and that is the reason for the blood or not, it was too far from the want to detect a heartbeat at this time.

Much Hope and Kas are you out there?

HI babyhope:

Wow what a surprise. I will keep you in my prayers that baby C does well and you will be blessed 3 times just like me :)

Even though a triplet pregnancy is very scarey, I have come to the conclusion that God would not have given me a triple blessing if he felt DH and I were not able to handle it.

I am 12 wks 4 days now, not as tired as I was the last 8 weeks or so but still in need of more rest then ever before.

Keep me posted on your progress and know we are all here for you for support. Many hugs

Babyhope Hey there, yes i am here, just reading more than posting right now due to nausea kicking my ass and 'bathroom issues' Ha ha not fun, but i am so grateful i will suck it up.....

So you may be joining the triplet club then???? It's pretty scary. To be honest i am petrified. I have tried so hard and for so long to get preggo i NEVER in my wildest dreams thought i would have to worry about too many!!! SO when is your next u/s? I guess you will have more of an idea about baby #3 then.... Mine is Friday 23rd and i cant wait...

I think bleeding can be something resolving, as i had 4 sacs, 4 beans but onl 3 heartbeats. I think if there was a heartbeat in the 4th one we would have known as it was clear on the other three and you could see the fluttering!!! On the 4th there was nothing and it was a 'cloudy' sac, and my RE said he doubted this was going anywhere, so my bleeding is likely that resolving (although it has been going on since the end of the 2 week wait!). I guess only time will tell for both of us on that one!!!

keep us updated!!!

Much Hope With triplets when did you start to show? I think i am 8 weeks on Saturday and i dont know it its bloat or what but i cant fit into any pants with a button or zipper anymore but i do think its WAY too early to be showing????? I am a small person, take size 2 pants normally, so i know i will show sooner not later but this is crazy. I know the babies are teeny tiny right now so they physically cant be making me this big (my waist is now 35inches.) Did this happen to you?

Vadersmom - Hey - there is a support group (online) for women on bedrest. I will try to find the info. Someone in your maternity ward might know it, but you'll get to chat w/ other women who are on bedrest with you! I will look today and try to post later.

someone posted about pancakes a page ago and I just ordered pancakes to be delivered. LOL. (I'm in NYC - everything can be delivered)

It's so good to read this post. There are a bunch of us around22-27 weeks and it's good to hear about cervix length and resting. I've been feeling so alone in my inactive state, and you guys make me feel so much better for taking it easy and taking time to rest.

Silverangel- I second rolling over in bed!!! Also I have a Snoogle (the long curly pregnancy pillow) so besides being hard to do, I get all twisted up and caught in my blanket. LOL

Thanks to all of you for the posts. Welcome new folk and congratulations!

Hope everyone is keeping warm.

Hi ladies...
Silverangel: yesterday when i read ur post about not being able to walk well...i thought really, i'm walking like a champ...but today and last night i've started walking with a limp as my R side is achy and sore...feels like a pulled muscle. No labor symptoms, but i've called my ob...wondering if this is round ligament pain - anyone else get this and what to do about it ?stretch?

i found it harder to sleep with the snoogle...maybe i did it wrong - which way do you face it for maximum comfort..

i've been feeling more slow - baby brain is really setting in

My optimum snoogle position is the C position. I sleep w/ it running down my back (keeps me from fully rolling over) and the bottom of the C comes up through my knees. and the top is a bit of a pillow. sometimes I'll roll the other way. Also if I do roll on my back, I'm not wholly on my back and cutting of circulation.
