Hi everyone I hope you are all having a good weekend, poor Sarah having to work this morning :( We should start when af comes which is due 3rd April had lots to drink this weekend I'm going out with the girls on Wednesday so I'm going to make that my last day of drinking hopefully my last til Feb
I have also joined the Aprl cycle buddies as I think I'm really behind everyone on here,I like to spread about :D
Well I will have to go and get ready for my acupunture session I've been going since Dec and at £45 a week for acupunture and chinese meds its not cheap but as last time we got a bio-chemical pg which we have never got that far before I'm hoping by carrying on with it it will make me hang on to the embryos this time as I think I'd read on this site that it can take up to 3 months for them to start working.
Hope everyone is ok

Hi everyone, Hope you're all well.

Well I started sniffing on Saturday - but I have a long wait for my first scan - 30th March (I think they are trying to plan it so that I don't have to go in for EC over the Easter Bank Holiday). I had forgotten how dizzy the buserelin makes you - but I am just thankful that they got some supplies of the nasal spray in otherwise I would have been injecting....

Karen - have you got a definite date for your EC yet?

July Ann- so sorry about your recent -ve. But good to have you onboard. I am going for 3rd time lucky as well... so fingers crossed!

Sarah - unfortunately I had to cancel my hynotherapy because I won't be able to get out of work early enough and the guy doesn't do after work appointments. I am a bit disappointed - but then again it was going to cost me £150 an hour... so maybe I will treat myself to a facial or a massage instead (will be a lot cheaper too!!).

Hope you're all having a nice Monday!

Take care

Dolly

acupuncture, starsky and hutch and first time IVF

Post by Bronagh »

Dear all,
First acupuncture was fine , went to the hospital to pick up all my other drugs and now feel I have bags off the stuff. I am starting to get used to the foul herbal drink. But as I'm a bit of a herbal tea fiend its just 2 steps away from that.
Starsky and hutch was good for a laugh and is very tongue in cheek but there is nothing like an easy laugh.
I'm interested to read a few times on these message boards that its quite hard for this to work the first time around I'm just wondering why this might be and if anyone else has any info on it, is it just that they are gettng used to your cycle??

Anyway nose back to the grind stone.

Huge :D :D :D welcome July Ann...nice to be cycling together again, although have been keeping an eye on you......was very impressed you stayed away from HPTs.....keep up the good work, Im sure you will be rewarded this time-it would be great if we can go over the other side together!!

Dolly-bummer re hypnotheraoy!! lot of dosh though, think you will get more pleasure from a massage and some treats!! enjoy!!

Bronagh-re not working 1st time, I think its just down to good old fashioned luck, a bit like trying the fun way-you dont usually fall pg in the 1st month of trying either!!(unless your one of these horrid people who dont want kids and have a 1 night stand and WHAM!!) sorry if I offend!just sounding off.....ALso, like you say, if you have got problems etc.. the clinic get to know what works and what does not etc..etc.....
Keep +ve though-it does work 1st time for some lucky people.....

Hi to everyone else,

Hi Guys

Sounds like things are moving along nicely for everyone!!! Some quicker than others.

I have not been on for a while so a quick update from me.......

I have been injecting Puregon every other day since Thursday and I go for my scan tomorrow to find out if DIUI will be Saturday or Monday!!! I have been using the pen which I used for my last cycle (which was IVF not IUI) so it is dead easy this time.........fewer bits and bobs.

I know it sounds mad but I have been at my Mum and Dads all weekend eating like mad, my Dr at the clinic said i had to put on weight and increase my BMI and therefore I had to eat burgers etc!!! I know it sounds mad, but Mum and Dad are both like rakes and I never eat sweet stuff (just don't have a sweet tooth!) So anyway, I feel sick from the crap I have been piling into me...........but if it means a BFP I will eat crap!!

Love to all

Hi Susan,
glad you can join us....we need a bit of excitement as were mostly at the early stages so looking forwards to hearing your updates......

Dont worry Bronagh, give it a few weeks when we are in full flow and you wont keep up, will be near the top all the time then............

People tend to post more once they are at EC/ET/2ww time as stress levels go up then with all the worry etc..

Hello to everyone else

Sending you all lots of baby dust & PMA

Hello again MCB's

Just to update you all .............. off to Lister tomorrow to collect 5 days worth of Gonal F and be shown how to inject (OH ME GAWD)!! Have read through the manual with my info pack and seeing as I'm a first timer have managed to confuse myself more than ever (hope the nurse is patient)!!

Anyhow, hope you are all doing well, and may the PMA be with you

Hugs
Nickie

P.S. I read somewhere that if you are successful then you should calculate your due date 38 weeks from date of egg retrieval - is this correct?

Hi Nickie

It's 40 weeks from 1st day of last period - so, yes - as EC is almost 2 weeks to the day after last last period, 38 weeks from EC sounds right to me.

Hi everyone - hope you're all well.

Nickie, when I had my last lot of IVF in November - I got a +ve (unfortunately m/c) but they calculated how pregnant I was from the date of ET. Good luck with your injection lessons - they really arn't so bad.

Traci, hopefully starting treatment on your birthday will be a good omen. The ideal home show wasn't all that good - it seems to be the same every year - so I only went for an hour after work - entered all the competitions and went home! You never know I might win a car or a new house!!!! I am so glad that you will be starting again soon - you really deserve some good luck - I will have my beady eye on you all the way!!!

Hope you're all having a fun Thursday - I am off to the Dentist in a minute - just a check up so hopefully I won't need any fillings!!!

Love

My pins go in :
Wrist
top of feet
knee
Abdomen x3
Top of head
ankle

Do you find it makes you jump sometimes as if there is an electric surge ? also when she does some of them they tug she says this is a good sign. The one in my arm shot a sharp kinda pins and needles down each finger very weird. and the ones in my tummy give me bruises. anyone not had this before will read this and be frightend !!!! dont be it doesent hurt.

I always wander if she has ever forgotten to take one out!

Trace x

Im there tomorrow , It will throw her with my news
