Hi all, thanks for the welcome. I am sort of new!! LOL!!
I used to post here big time between 2004 and 2007, then it all got too much and we took time out, now i try again.... but it doesnt come with out hurdles. Had NHS funding approved, and now its been declined coz we moved over the board to new PCT, now have to re apply to new PCT and wait all over again... I am so very cross!!!
I asked that question and they said it doesnt matter, now apparently it does!!!
I am fighting it out now between the 2 PCTs and praying i get some joy....
No money for private IVF... its all gone on the failed, IUIs and last IVF....
:(
Best wishes to everyone else, and have a good evening..... xxx Hugs!!! xx

It seems we can get funding from our PCT, but im having to re apply coz we moved. They say the wait is 0 months, i am not trusting that as gospel!!
Im tired, its been a long emotional day.
Thanks for all ur support, and may we all become mums one day. Hugs to all xx

It's when the governmnet pays for your treatment...NHS is the national health service, they are then split to PCT in each county, so Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Essex are countys...PCT is Primary care trust, and they fund your IVF dependant on where u live, so i was in suffolk, and now ive move to Cambridgeshire, so coz of that i am on the suff list and they have granted us money to pay for IVF. but now coz I have moved to cambs i ahve to re wait.....
I hope that makes sence....
It's all too confusing i know, but here in the UK its a postcode lottery, it really depends on your address!!
Some areas offer 1 cycle, some 2 and some more, some state you have to be ubnder 40 some 39, some 38, and then have other things like weight and health, and if u dont fall into it, then forget it, they wont fund you!!!
Its a cruel world,
Best if u can pay your own way, its so expensive. We cant justify the cost especially after BFN. We have paid so much out already, its crazy and nothing at all to show for it.
Hope thats clearer for you.
How r u getting on? Any news on a start date?

Hi guys,

angie,
we cross-posted girlie! I haven't disappeared! Great to see you by the way! :D

Carolyn,
GREAT FOLLIE HARVEST!!! Now let's all root for your DH's swimmers!!! Wow, can't wait for the fert report! When do they transfer the embies, and how does it work in that clinic? Yeah, acupuncture makes me relax big time too. Each time I think I won't fall asleep this time, and each time I end up snoring until the acupuncturist comes back into the room and wakes me up! Glad you're enjoying your time in Prague, jealous of the weather. How are your friends?

Miracle,
CONGRATS on the amazing results you got in your classes, you CLEVER girl! :D:D:D Wow, they really make you move from one semester to the next pretty fast... won't you get a little break this summer at least? Any news from your friend, is she still in ICU?

Lee,
great to see you around, I hope you enjoyed your tea!

Nicola,
Yeah, it's a cruel world indeed... some states, counties, countries, have crazy rules when it comes to funding IVF, it just doesn't make sense. I'm sorry that it's giving you so much trouble, it's pretty tiring, dealing with those pencil-pushers so much...

Angel,
hugs, miss ya baby!

Nothing much for me to report. Remember DH's nose problems? Well he was at the allergy specialist's office this morning. He might come home for lunch, so I'll get news then. I hope they find something that explains his problems (sneezing, runny nose, only at home), it would be a relief to know what's going on. I guess they'll just do a bunch of allergy tests and we'll have to wait until we know the results.

The weather here is simply DREADFUL! Yesterday the temperature dropped just enough to let us have snow! EEEEK! So this morning we woke up and everything was white. It's a thin layer and it's not even noon already and most of it has disappeared. But still, we changed the tires on the car on Monday, and I didn't like the idea of driving to the hospital with summer tires on... and I was right; DH told me he slided pretty badly with the car this morning, and he wasn't even driving fast. Ah, well. Before we know it, the real spring weather will be back! Just a few more icky days!

Take care ladies,

Sophie xxox
